  • Knowledge concerning the nutritional requirements and nutritional problems of fanned deer is limited. Nutritional recommendations must be based on data from domestic ruminants and fanned deer. An understanding of the biology and adaptative characteristics of wild deer is essential for sensible application of sheep and cattle nutritional principles. Nutritional requirements of deer are generally separated into five categories: energy, protein, minerals, vitamins and water. Research on deer nutrition has primarily focused on energy, protein and minerals (phosphorus and calcium). Changes in the nutritional requirements that occur with gestation, lactation, breeding and antler growth should be coordinated with seasonal changes in nutrient availability from forage plants. This paper describes aspects of current knowledge of energy, protein, minerals, vitamins and water requirements. Nutritional problems of. fanned deer are described with recommendations for prevention or control. A comparison of production efficiency of deer, lamb, beef cattle and dairy cattle is included.

  • This paper proposes a control-based approach for duty cycle adaptation in wireless sensor networks. The proposed method, QCon, controls duty cycle through queue management in order to achieve high performance under variable traffic rates. To minimize energy consumption while meeting delay requirement, we design a feedback controller, which adapts the sleeping time according to dynamically changing traffic by constraining the queue length at a predetermined value. Based on control theory, we analyze the adaptive behavior of QCon and derive conditions for system stability. Results from asymptotic analysis and simulations indicate that QCon outperforms existing scheduling protocol by achieving more energy savings while satisfying delay requirement.

  • In this paper, we propose a newly energy-efficient routing protocol, which is called Maximum Utility Routing(MUR), in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) so as to investigate the minimum energy and maximum lifetimes issues together. We present a utility-based framework so as to meet various incompatible constraints simultaneously and fairly. To explore this issue, we use the concepts and mathematics of microeconomics and game theory. Though simulation results, we show that our routing scheme has much better performance especially in terms of network efficiency, network lifetime, and average power consumption.

  • The power demand has increased the groth of industry and improvement of life. Otherwise the power supply is more difficult. because of regional egoism, reinforcement for environment, and investment of money. The load installation should be promoted to rational power management, according to the network, inteligent, and high-function. Therefore, this paper is made a study for the method of energy saving and for energy saving of medium-small type small type-below 500kW medium type-between $500{\sim}1.000kW$.

  • A research was performed for zero discharge system of waste water which is produced from energy recovery process of waste and biomass. Leachate and all kinds of waste water should be separated and integrated into three categories in addition to converting existing leachate treatment facility into waste water treatment facility as well as introducing a management system of reverse osmosis membrane facility and bioreactor landfill. Following these conditions to better water treatment process, it was likely to produce over 3,000 tons of low-grade recycling water and 2,000 tons of high-grade recycling water per day when zero discharge system of waste water is applied starting from 2016. Economical efficiency was also surveyed in total treatment fee. Present system costs 18,129 million won per year, and suggested zero discharge system would cost 15,789 million won per year.

  • Currently, since the total energy amount has been increased continuously, the effort for energy efficiency of apartment building is necessary. Although the previous studies have been focused on the issue. Almost studies are about the simulation by applying the energy analysis tools and a lack of studies have been conducted the data analysis about real city gas amount of apartment building. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the city gas consumption difference according to the exclusive dwelling in apartment building. To address this issue, the descriptive, correlation, analysis of variance (ANOVA) statistics are used in this study. As a result, in the case of annual total amount, the city gas is increased as the size of the exclusive dwelling area is increased. In the future, the findings of this study can be used as a basic material to develop the prediction model of city gas in apartment building.

  • It is well known that the biggest problem of wireless sensor networks is power conservation. There have been two major approaches to efficiently use energy in wireless sensor networks. One is to use a dynamic power management scheme and the other is to use energy efficient protocols. In the former, the power manager is responsible for managing the proper power state of CPU and each I/O with respect to the events, but the power manager does not concern about the internal operation of the underlying network protocols. Thus such conventional power managers can waste unpredicted power during communication period. On the other hand, the energy efficient protocols are just focused on the power saving operation of the radio PHY. In this paper, we introduce an energy-efficient power saving mechanism that can significantly reduce unwanted power consumption of wireless sensor nodes through the communication event-driven power management. We show that our scheme improves the energy conservation in the entire network through simulations.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the strategies and the experiences of 3 university hospitals relevant to environmentally-friendly strategy in their hospitals and to find out the implication for spreading the environmentally-friendly hospital management to other Korean hospitals. The study was progressed from October to November 2010 through the in depth interview with middle manager of the hospitals. Interview items about environmentally-friendly hospital management were selected from ISO 14001, Korean Green Management Certification Scheme, Green Guide Operation Version 2.2 of GGHC, Eco-ChecklistTM, Self-Assessment Tool of "Practice Greenhealth" and some accreditation credits of LEED, BREEAM, GreenStar. The case study result implies that the following strategies are so critical to settle environmentally-friendly hospitals in Korea: 1)understanding about fundamental concept of environmentally-friendly hospital, 2)organizing green teams, 3)purchasing environmentally-friendly goods, 4)benchmarking other successful hospitals, 5)adopting easy & reasonable policy first, 6)managing accumulated data & performance about energy efficiency, and 7)educating the employee about environmentally-friendly hospitals strategies. Hospitals have to keep in pace with the change in government policy and scheme like as GHG & Energy Target Management System, Korean Green Management Certification Scheme, ESCO, and so on for achieving the successful environmentally-friendly hospitals.

  • Smart Grid is a next generation of new power growth electrical grid which provide high quality of electrical service by using Information Technologies to increase intelligence and performance. By using Smart Grid system, it can support energy management such as increase quality of electrical power, decrease energy and decrease emissions. However, Smart Grid uses information of energy consumption and when Smart Grid collects information, it will create private information. In this thesis, it will address issues of security private information which caused by Smart Grid for administrative measure and efficiency of Smart Grid in domestic. Also, cryptographic module algorithm, latest security solutions and strong wireless security policy for network environment such as wireless communication Iinternet are require for Smart Grid perform successfully and protect national power network equipment from cyber-attack and can stop leakage of user's personal information. Finally, it is urgent to prepare protection measures of National industrial facilities and power grid which can prepare for a cyber terrorism and penetration attacks and build emergency countermeasure management team for Smart Grid are require for safe Smart Grid environment.

Background: Despite the sophistication and standardization of job-related skills and techniques of workers, accidents/incidents keep taking place due to human errors and unsafe actions and behaviors, which translates into the necessity to review and examine the effectiveness and influence of education and training on the workers of nuclear power plants. Method/Results: This study drew the factors of 'Transfer of Training' through a review on the preceding studies and document research. In addition, through expert examination, this study explored the expected effects and possibility of application when managing the influencing factors of 'Transfer of Training' in nuclear power plants. And lastly, management priority order for nuclear power plants was drawn through an AHP analysis. Conclusion: Among the 'Transfer of Training' factors, the training design factor was the most important. In addition, the design of the training and transfer and goal setting showed a high degree of importance among the influencing factors. Application: The management of 'Transfer of Training' in nuclear power plants enhances the capability of workers and improves the operational integrity of nuclear power plants.
