LCC 기법을 통한 자연채광의 경제성 분석에 대한 연구 (A Feasibility Study on the Benefit of Daylighting by LCC Analysis)

  • As has been expected, economic factors are a major consideration in almost every decision in building design process. Assuming that improving a lighting system, existing or proposed, will reduce operating cost, what preliminary economic guidelines can be established to determine whether any proposed investment appears cost effective? In such a case a reasonable technique to compare system costs is by life-cycle costing. Stated simply, a life-cycle cost represents the total cost of a system over its entire life cycle, that is, the sum of first cost and all future costs. This paper aims to exemplify the benefit of daylighting in term of economic consideration. Four different electric lighting system designs are proposed and a lighting control system that is continuously operating according to the level of daylight in the space has been adapted. The accumulated performance of electric and daylighting is figured out to declare the effective depth of daylight in the space. The analysis on the saving amount of lighting energy due to daylight has been undertaken in answer to the question, that is, several projects are being considered, which is the most desirable from the cost-effectiveness viewpoint. The result shows clearly that although denser layout of lighting fixtures might be more effective to interface to the level of daylight ceaselessly changeable, its economic benefit may not meet the expected criterion the reason of increased initial investment and maintenance cost for the fixtures and control hardware.

  • 전세계적으로 녹색 건설에 대한 관심과 필요성이 높아지고 있는 시점에 있다. 정부도 녹색 성장 기조 하에 건축물의 에너지 사용량 저감을 위한 공격적인 목표를 설정하고 다양한 정책적 지원책을 통해 추진하고 있다. 하지만 녹색건설 시장의 지속적인 성장을 위해서는 수요 주체의 녹색 투자 의사 결정을 지원할 수 있는 녹색 건설 투자 비용과 경제적 편익 정보가 제공되어야 하지만, 녹색 건설 선진국에 비해 국내 건설산업계에서는 녹색건설의 비용이나 편익과 관련한 구체적이고 객관적인 자료가 부족하고 분석이 부족한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 건설 산업 차원에서 녹색 건설 비용의 개념을 정의하고, 녹색 비용 및 편익 정보 체계와 관련한 녹색건설선진국의 다양한 사례를 살펴봄으로써 국내 녹색건축 비용 및 편익 정보 체계의 문제점을 도출하고 개선 방안을 제시하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 녹색 건설 비용 및 편익 정보의 분류, 축적, 활용 메커니즘이 해당 건설 상품의 경제적 타당성 검증 작업을 견인할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Techno-Economic Optimization of a Grid-Connected Hybrid Energy System Considering Voltage Fluctuation

  • This paper proposes an optimization approach of a grid-connected photovoltaic and wind hybrid energy system including energy storage considering voltage fluctuation in the electricity grid. A techno-economic analysis is carried out in order to minimize the size of hybrid system by considering the benefit-cost. Lithium-ion battery type is used for both managing the electricity selling to the grid and reducing voltage fluctuation. A new technique is developed to limit the voltage perturbation caused by the solar irradiance and the wind speed through determining the state-of-charge of battery for every hour of a day. Improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) methods, referred to as FC-VACPSO which combines Fast Convergence Particle Swarm Optimization (FCPSO) method and Variable Acceleration Coefficient Based Particle Swarm Optimization (VACPSO) method are used to solve the optimization problem. A comparative study has been performed between standard PSO method and PSO based methods to extract the best size with the benefit cost. A sensitivity analysis has been studied for different kinds and costs of batteries, by considering variable and constant state-ofcharge of battery. The simulations, performed under Matlab environment, yield good results using the FC-VACPSO method regarding the convergence and the benefit cost of the hybrid system.

가연성 폐기물 고형연료(SRF) 사업의 경제성 분석 (The Economic Analysis of A Solid Refuse Fuel (SRF) Project in the Urban Area)

  • 정부에서는 지구온난화에 따른 이산화탄소 저감 및 자원순환형(Zero Waste) 사회구축을 위해 가연성 폐기물을 대상으로 한 고형연료화 사업을 추진 중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 가연성 폐기물 고형연료(SRF) 사업에 대하여 추가 편익을 고려한 경제성 평가를 실시하였다. 경세성 분석은 수도권매립지에 반입되는 폐기물을 대상으로 한 SRF 시설을 가정하였으며, 비용은 건설비와 운영비를 고려하고, 편익으로는 열 및 전력 판매비, 환경 편익, 매립대체 편익을 고려하였다. 결론적으로 SRF 사업은 환경편익 등 기타 사업시행에 대한 편익을 고려하면 1.0으로 산출되었으며, 이 결과는 전력가격 및 물가변동에 따른 인건비 등에 큰 영향을 받는 것으로 분석되었다. 따라서 SRF 사업의 지속성을 위해서는 정부의 투자비 지원뿐만 아니라, 전력판매에 따른 적정한 정책지원 방향 설정 등이 필요 하다.

최적화 기법을 이용한 에너지 효율 프로그램의 지원금 수준 산정 (Estimation of Rebate Level for Energy Efficiency Programs Using Optimization Technique)

  • This paper presents the evaluation procedures and the estimation method for the estimation of optimal rebate level for EE(Energy Efficiency) programs. The penetration amount of each appliance is estimated by applying price function to preferred diffusion model resulted from model compatibility test. To estimate the optimal rebate level, two objective functions which express the maximum energy saving and operation benefit are introduced and by multi-objective function which can simultaneously consider two objective functions the optimal rebate level of each appliance is estimated. And then, using the decided rebate level and each penetration amount, the priority order for reasonable investment of each high-efficiency appliance is estimated compared to the results of conventional method. Finally, using a benefit/cost analysis based on California standard practice manual, the economic analysis is implemented for the four perspectives such as participant, ratepayer impact measure, program administrator cost and total resource cost.

한 도시 사업체 에너지 수급의 최적화 방안 연구 - 대기오염지수와 경제성 평가를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Pro-Environmental Energy Supply Program of Urban Enterprises on the concept of BAT(Best Available Technology): Application of Air Environmental Indices and Benefit-Cost Analysis Based)

  • The purpose of this study is to seek AEI(Air Environmental Indices), PSI(Pollutant Standard Index) and the urban air quality control goal(the best available alternative energy program) by assessing the best ratio of energy types used in urban enterprises, based on harmful health effect and air quality standard and costs. This study is focused on an urban area(Puchun), where area sourcees are associated with heavy traffic, large population, and its industrial sources with large emissions. In the first step, air modeling, estimation of AEI and PSI, and benefit-cost analysis were carried out. In the second step, we assessed that 660 scenarios about the ratio of B-C oil, light oil and LNG used in urban enterprises with regard to air quality and cost. In the third step, the best available alternative energy program was selected for the ratio of energy species(B-C oil, light oil and LNG) by using the lexicographic method. From the emission analysis, main source of $NO_2$ is identified as industries and air quality is evaluated according to the ratio of B-C oil, light oil and LNG used in urban enterprise. The modeling data of TSP, $SO_2$, $NO_2$, CO, $O_3$, by ISC3 and PBM are respectively $118{\mu}g/m^3$, 0.027ppm, 0.025ppm, 2.0ppm, 0.55ppm in indurstrial area. That data are close to Environmental Air Quality Standard. By means of sensitivity analysis, we obtained the difference in concentration between the areas(Nae-dong, Joong-dong) according to the ratio of B-C oil, light oil and LNG used in the industries. From the result of alternatives assessment the lowest AEI value and cost, the ratio of B-C oil, light oil and LNG are 2.5%, 20%, 77.5%, respectively.

On the energy economics of air lubrication drag reduction

  • Air lubrication techniques for frictional drag reduction on ships have been proposed by numerous researchers since the 19th century. However, these techniques have not been widely adopted as questions persist about their drag reduction performance beyond the laboratory, as well as energy and economic cost-benefit. This paper draws on data from the literature to consider the suitability of air lubrication for large ocean going and U.S. Great Lakes ships, by establishing the basic energy economic calculations and presenting results for a hypothetical air lubricated ship. All the assumptions made in the course of the analysis are clearly stated so that they can be refined when considering application of air lubrication to a specific ship. The analysis suggests that, if successfully implemented, both air layer and partial cavity drag reduction could lead to net energy savings of 10 to 20%, with corresponding reductions in emissions.

  • This paper proposed the calculation method of the avoided cost for natural gas and district heating DSM programs. And the proposed method is applied to real DSM programs. The avoided cost for natural gas consists of commodity avoided cost, supply equipment avoided cost, storage equipment avoided cost, and electric power avoided cost. In case of the district heating, avoided cost consists of heat generation equipment avoided cost, heat energy avoided cost, environment avoided cost, and electric power avoided cost. This method can be used to evaluate the benefit of DSM programs quantitatively in cost. Therefore, this method can contribute to make the cost-effectiveness evaluation system and to operate the DSM programs for natural gas and district heating effectively.

국가적 관점에서 용도별 ESS 적정용량 산정을 위한 운전수리모델 수립에 대한 연구 (A Study on Establishing Operation Mathematical Model for Optimum Capacity Estimation of the ESS Applications for each in the Nationwide Perspective)

  • Around the world are increasing the demand for ESS. Currently, the domestic is expected to benefit by operating ESS. In the domestic, it is expected to benefit from operations of the installed ESS because of the introduction of ESS less capacity. However ESS capacity to the maximum profit occurs is unknown. ESS is different from the charge-discharge characteristics and the reserve to replace, depending on the application. Therefore, it should be established in accordance with the ESS optimal capacity according to the purpose used because it can maximize the quality and efficiency of the electric energy. To the ESS optimal capacity estimation by the purpose used, It should compare the investment cost caused by ESS facility installation and operation cost caused by operating ESS. In this paper, the operation mathematical model for estimating marginal operation costs established. In operation mathematical model, operating cost is considered fuel cost and no-load cost start-up cost. Because no-load cost and start-up cost are not related to cost and power plant output, there are expressed an integer variable costs as a step function.
