토공사 환경오염물질 부하량 및 공사비를 이용한 장비조합방법 연구 (A Study of the Combination Method for Earthwork Equipments Using the Environmental Loads and Costs)

  • 1997년 "기후 변화에 관한 국제연합 규약의 교토의정서"가 채택된 이후 우리나라를 비롯한 세계의 여러 나라에서 이산화탄소를 포함한 온실가스 배출을 줄이기 위한 노력을 진행해 왔다. 각 산업별로 온실가스 배출을 저감시키는 산업 구조로 개편 및 녹색 기업으로 체질 개선에 힘쓰고 있으나 타 산업에 비하여 건설 산업은 온실가스 배출의 효율적인 관리를 위한 정확한 배출량 저감을 위한 논의가 미흡한 상황이며 오히려 환경을 파괴시키는 산업이라는 오명을 가지고 있는 실정이다. 우리나라는 경제규모에 비해 환경오염물질 배출량이 많으며 이는 에너지 다소비 업종의 비중 증가에 따른 것이다. 이에 따라 에너지 다소비업종 중 하나인 건설관련 공사에 대한 효율적인 에너지 절약이 이루어지지 않은 문제점이 대두되고 있다. 뿐만 아니라 근래에는 대규모 건설이 많으므로 에너지 절감효과를 갖기 위해서는 건설공사의 전과정(Life Cycle) 중 시공단계에서 발생하는 에너지소비량, 환경오염물질 배출량, 환경비용 등 기본적인 데이터베이스 및 활용방안 개발이 필요하다. 그러나 건설현장 특성상 정량화가 어렵다는 이유 등으로 친환경 건설에 관한 연구는 대부분 구조물 사용 및 유지 보수 단계에 집중되어 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 지식경제부와 환경부에서 제시하는 LCI DB를 활용하여 굴착작업 시 발생하는 환경오염물질 배출량을 산출하고 환경오염물질별 환경비용을 환산하여 토공사에 대한 환경경제성을 평가하고자 한다.

저전력을 위한 버퍼 캐쉬 관리 기법 (Buffer Cache Management for Low Power Consumption)

  • 컴퓨팅 환경이 무선과 휴대용 시스템으로 변화하면서, 전력효율이 점점 중요해지고 있다. 특히 내장형 시스템일 경우에 더욱 그러한데 이중 메모리에서 소모되는 전력이 전체 전력소모의 두 번째 큰 요소가 되고 있다. 메모리 시스템에서의 전력소모를 줄이기 위해서 SDRAM의 저전력 모드를 활용할 수 있다. RDRAM의 경우 냅모드(nap mode)는 액티브 모드(active mode)의 5%이하의 전력만을 소모한다. 하지만 하드웨어 컨트롤러는 운영체제가 협조하지 않으면 이 기능을 효율적으로 활용하지 못한다. 이 논문에서는 SDRAM의 액티브 유닛(active unit)의 수를 최소화하는 방법에 초점을 맞춘다. 운영체제는 참조되지 않는 메모리를 저전력 모드에 놓음으로써 최소한의 유닛들만을 액티브 모드에 놓은 상태로 프로그램이 수행될 수 있도록 피지컬(physical) 페이지들을 할당한다. 이것은 PAVM(Power Aware Virtual Memory) 연구의 일반화된 시스템 전반에 대한 연구라고 할 수 있다. 우리는 모든 피지컬 메모리를 고려하고 있으며, 특히 평균적으로 전체 메모리의 절반을 사용하는 버퍼 캐시를 고려하고 있다. 버퍼 캐시의 용량과 그 중요성 때문에 PAVM 방식은 버퍼 캐시를 고려하지 않고는 완전한 해법이 되지 못한다. 이 논문에서 우리는 메모리의 사용처를 분석하고 저전력 페이지 할당 정책을 제안한다. 특히 프로세스의 주소공간에 매핑(mapping)된 페이지들과 버퍼 캐시가 고려된다. 이 두 종류의 페이지들간의 상호작용과 그 관계를 분석하고 저전력을 위해 이러한 관계를 이용한다.

수도 직파재배의 경제성분석 -대단위 대호간척농지를 중심으로- (Economic Analysis of Rice Production by Seed Broadcasting -In the Case of Daeho Large Scale Tidal and Development Area-)

  • This study is first aimed at identifying the possibility of labour saving and production cost decreasing in rice production with respect to seed broad casting technology. Comparison of labour inputs and production costs of rice in-between USA and Korea and recommendation of policy guidelines for the continous rice cultivation are the second objective of this study. Under the WTO system, rice enterprice is the most vulnerable crop in the sense of labour productivity and price competitiveness in the international market. How to adapt labour saving technology and how to decrease production costs are the most imminent problems to be solved in rice production. To achieve the objectives, survey on nine rice enterprice farms were made in Daeho tidal farmland with respect to the size of farm, labour inputs, productivity, farm mechanization and farm land base development. The existing data on labour saving technology by seed broadcasting which had surveyed by Rural Development Administration were collected to compare the surveyed data from Daeho tidal farm land The study results and policy recommendation are summarized as follows; 1. Labour requirements per 10a for rice enterprise farms with seed broadcasting and with transplanting were estimated 11.4 and 18.5hours respectively. 'This above labour inputs were equivalent to 1/3-1/5 of the national average labour inputs of 53.6 hours which were included transplanting and harvesting by machinery. Considering the labour requirement of 1.7 hours per 10a for the USA rice production, Korea rice culture has possibility to decrease labour demand upto USA level of labour inputs. 2. Production cost of rice in Korea were estimated US$4,181 per ha which were higher than that of USA by 3.00 times and production costs per ton were shown as US$313 for USA rice and US$1,018 for Korean rice. 3. Land productivity of rice per 10a in America was reached to 4,325kg and the counterpart of Korea was about 4,181kg in recent year. In the sense of land productivity, both yields of rice were comparable. 4. The price of japonica type rice similar to Korean traditional rice in international market in 1994 was f.o.b US$466 per ton which was equivalent to import parity price of US$830 per ton in domestic market. The price of rice purchased by Korean G't and received by farmers were amounted to US$ 2,013 and US$ 1,663 respectively in the same year. Domestic prices mentioned above were higher than the import parity price as US$830 by 2.0-2.4 times. 5. American rice production competitive to Korean rice was equivalent to 17,012 thousand tons, 1.28% of the world production of rice in 1991 and consumption of rice in America was amounted to 2,633 thousand tons. Exportable quantity of USA rice were estimated as 4,379 thousand tons of which 52.3%, 2,300 thousand tons, were exported indeed in the same year. 6. The quantity of Korean rice produced in 1991 was estimated 1.00% of the world production. The world amount of rice exported in 1991 was reached to 2.45% of the world production of which 34.2% was occupied by USA The remaining quantities of world exported rice were dominated by Tiland, Pakistan and Vietnam where produced indica variety. 7. Under the given technology, labour inputs per 10a for rice production could be possible to save by 70% of the national average labour requirement of 53.6 hours through implmenting complete farm mechanization with land consolidation and on-farm development and improvement of fanning practices like seedbroad casting txchnology etc. On the other hand, prduction costs of rice could be decreased by 10% rather than 49% as target indicated in the Rural Development Counter Measures of Korean Government in 1994 owing to increasing farm mechanization cost and interest on land service with high price. Accordingly production cost of rice per kg could be decreased only by 10% of the 1994 production cost. 8. Rice policy of Korean government in the future should take into account the labour saving technology to solve labour shortage in rural area and to enhance off-farm incomes by creating job opportunities in agro-industrial zones and special production area. On account of the staple food and main energy source for people's health, rice production even encountered vulnerable economic settings should be continued without price distortion policies and discouraging farmer's intention to cultivate rice by importing institutionally the direct income subsidy system.

설비공학 분야의 최근 연구 동향 : 2016년 학회지 논문에 대한 종합적 고찰 (Recent Progress in Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Research : A Review of Papers Published in the Korean Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering in 2016)

  • This article reviews the papers published in the Korean Journal of Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineering during 2016. It is intended to understand the status of current research in the areas of heating, cooling, ventilation, sanitation, and indoor environments of buildings and plant facilities. Conclusions are as follows. (1) The research works on the thermal and fluid engineering have been reviewed as groups of flow, heat and mass transfer, the reduction of pollutant exhaust gas, cooling and heating, the renewable energy system and the flow around buildings. CFD schemes were used more for all research areas. (2) Research works on heat transfer area have been reviewed in the categories of heat transfer characteristics, pool boiling and condensing heat transfer and industrial heat exchangers. Researches on heat transfer characteristics included the results of the long-term performance variation of the plate-type enthalpy exchange element made of paper, design optimization of an extruded-type cooling structure for reducing the weight of LED street lights, and hot plate welding of thermoplastic elastomer packing. In the area of pool boiling and condensing, the heat transfer characteristics of a finned-tube heat exchanger in a PCM (phase change material) thermal energy storage system, influence of flow boiling heat transfer on fouling phenomenon in nanofluids, and PCM at the simultaneous charging and discharging condition were studied. In the area of industrial heat exchangers, one-dimensional flow network model and porous-media model, and R245fa in a plate-shell heat exchanger were studied. (3) Various studies were published in the categories of refrigeration cycle, alternative refrigeration/energy system, system control. In the refrigeration cycle category, subjects include mobile cold storage heat exchanger, compressor reliability, indirect refrigeration system with $CO_2$ as secondary fluid, heat pump for fuel-cell vehicle, heat recovery from hybrid drier and heat exchangers with two-port and flat tubes. In the alternative refrigeration/energy system category, subjects include membrane module for dehumidification refrigeration, desiccant-assisted low-temperature drying, regenerative evaporative cooler and ejector-assisted multi-stage evaporation. In the system control category, subjects include multi-refrigeration system control, emergency cooling of data center and variable-speed compressor control. (4) In building mechanical system research fields, fifteenth studies were reported for achieving effective design of the mechanical systems, and also for maximizing the energy efficiency of buildings. The topics of the studies included energy performance, HVAC system, ventilation, renewable energies, etc. Proposed designs, performance tests using numerical methods and experiments provide useful information and key data which could be help for improving the energy efficiency of the buildings. (5) The field of architectural environment was mostly focused on indoor environment and building energy. The main researches of indoor environment were related to the analyses of indoor thermal environments controlled by portable cooler, the effects of outdoor wind pressure in airflow at high-rise buildings, window air tightness related to the filling piece shapes, stack effect in core type's office building and the development of a movable drawer-type light shelf with adjustable depth of the reflector. The subjects of building energy were worked on the energy consumption analysis in office building, the prediction of exit air temperature of horizontal geothermal heat exchanger, LS-SVM based modeling of hot water supply load for district heating system, the energy saving effect of ERV system using night purge control method and the effect of strengthened insulation level to the building heating and cooling load.

단동온실 내 공기순환팬 사용에 따른 온습도 및 에너지소비량 비교 분석 (Analysis of Air Temperature and Humidity Distributions and Energy Consumptions according to Use of Air Circulation Fans in a Single-span Greenhouse)

  • 본 연구는 방울토마토 재배 단동온실에 공기순환팬을 설치하고 공기순환팬이 온실 내 온도 및 습도 분포, 에너지소비량에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 공기순환팬은 날개 크기 230mm의 Stainless 팬으로, Lee 등(2016)의 연구결과를 참고하여 시험구 온실에 9m 간격으로 총 18대를 설치하였다. 온실 내부 온습도는 온실 길이방향으로 4등분하여 1/4 지점과 3/4 지점의 중앙에 센서를 설치하고 0.8m, 1.8m 높이 2곳의 온습도를 난방을 주로 하는 야간(오후 6시~다음 날 오전 7시)에 5분 간격으로 측정하였다. 에너지소비량은 각 온실에 위치한 온수펌프의 유량, 온수 출수부와 환수부의 온도차를 측정하여 계산하였다. 공기순환팬을 사용하지 않았을 때 측점 간 온도차 및 습도차의 평균값은 $0.75^{\circ}C$, 2.19%였으며 공기순환팬 사용 시 측점 간 온도차 및 습도차의 평균값은 $0.42^{\circ}C$, 1.27%로 감소하였다. 공기순환팬 설치 온실과 미설치 온실의 누적 에너지소비량은 각각 4,673kWh, 4,009kWh로 공기순환팬 설치 온실에서 약 14.2%의 에너지를 적게 소모하였다. 이러한 결과로 보아 온실 내 공기순환팬 사용은 공기를 지속적으로 교반시켜 주어 온실 전체의 온도 및 습도를 균일하게 만들고, 공기의 온도가 빠르게 변하지 않도록 해주어 난방 장치의 가동 시간과 에너지소비량을 줄일 수 있다.

소형 4행정사이클 무과급 디이젤 기관의 성능 시뮤레이션 전산프로그램의 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on the development of simulation program for the small naturally aspirated four-stroke diesel engine)

  • Since 1973, the competition on the development of fuel saving type internal combustion engines has become severe by the two times oil shock, and new type engines are reported every several months. Whenever these new type engines are developed, new designs are required and they will be offered in the market after performing the endurance test for a long time. But the engine market is faced with a heavy burden of finance, as the developing of a new engine requires tremendous expenses. For this reason, the computer simulation method has been lately developed to cope with it. The computer simulation method can be available to perform the reasonable research works by the theoretical analysis before carrying out practical experiments. With these processes, the developing expenses are cut down and the period of development is curtailed. The object of this study is the development of simulation computer program for the small naturally aspirated four-stroke diesel engine which is intended to product by the original design of our country. The process of simulation is firstly investigated for the ideal engine cycle, and secondly for the real engine cycle. In the ideal engine cycle, each step of the cycle is simulated by the energy balance according to the first law of thermodynamics, and then the engine performance is calculated. In the real cycle imulation program, the injection rate, the preparation rate and the combustion rate of fuel and the heat transfer through the wall of combustion chamber are considered. In this case, the injection rate is supposed as constant through the crank angle interval of injection and the combustion rate is calculated by the Whitehouse-Way equation and the heat transfer is calculated by the Annand's equation. The simulated values are compared with measured values of the YANMAR NS90(C) engine and Mitsubishi 4D30 engine, and the following conclusions are drawn. 1. The heat loss by the exhaust gas is well agree with each other in the lower load, but the measured value is greater than the calculated value in the higher load. The maximum error rate is about 15% in the full load. 2. The calculated quantity of heat transfer to the cooling water is greater than the measured value. The maximum error rate is about 11.8%. 3. The mean effective pressure, the fuel consumption, the power and the torque are well agree with each other. The maximum error is occurred in the fuel consumption, and its error rate is about 7%. From the above remarks, it may be concluded that the prediction of the engine performance is possibly by using the developed program, although the program needs to reform by adding the simulation of intake and exhaust process and assumping more reliable mechanical efficiency, volumetric efficiency, preparation rate and combustion rate.

쿨맵시 및 온맵시 복장 착용에 의한 온실가스 감축 효과 분석 (Greenhouse Gas Mitigation Effect Analysis by Cool Biz and Warm Biz)

  • 2009년 덴마크 코펜하겐에서 개최된 UNFCCC 제15차 당사국 총회(COP15)에서 우리나라는 2020년 BAU 온실가스 배출량 대비 30%의 온실가스를 감축하는 국가 온실가스 중기 감축 목표를 공식적으로 발표한 바 있다. 감축 목표를 성공적으로 달성하기 위해서는 산업계뿐만 아니라 전 국민이 기후변화의 심각성을 이해하고, 온실가스 감축에 적극적으로 참여하도록 하는 것이 필요하다. 그러나 국민에게 다소의 불편을 초래할 수 있는 녹색 생활에의 적극적인 참여는 설득력 있는 정보의 제공 없이 단순한 구호만으로는 이루어질 수 없다. 저탄소 생활 가이드라인을 제안하고 녹색 생활로 인한 온실가스 배출량의 감축 가능성을 과학적으로 제시하여, 기후변화 대응 생활의 패러다임 형성 및 행동 양식을 변화시키도록 유도함으로써 달성할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 생활 속 온실가스를 감축 방안으로써의 쿨맵시와 온맵시에 의하여 냉 난방 수요를 감소시킴으로써 줄일 수 있는 온실가스의 양을 정량화하고자 하였다. 쿨맵시란 여름을 시원하게 보낸다는 의미의 영어 'Cool'과 옷을 차려입은 모양새를 의미하는 순 우리말 '맵시'를 합친 말로, 넥타이를 매지 않으면서도 격식을 지킬 수 있는 시원하고 멋스러운 비즈니스 옷차림을 의미한다. 재킷을 입지 않거나 넥타이를 매지 않는 편안한 차림을 하는 것만으로도 체감온도를 낮춰, 냉방에너지를 절약하고 온실가스를 줄임으로써 지구온난화도 예방하고 건강도 증진하는 친환경 패션이다. 또한, 온맵시는 겨울철에 내복을 입음으로써 체감 온도를 높여 난방 에너지 절약을 가능하게 하는 옷차림이다. 이 캠페인의 중요성은 인지하고 있지만, 쿨맵시 또는 온맵시와 같은 기후복장 착용으로 어느 정도의 에너지 절약과 온실가스 배출량 저감효과가 있는 지에 대한 정량적인 연구는 없었다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 실험을 통해 쿨맵시 및 온맵시 복장 착용에 의한 피부 온도 변화를 측정하여 이를 바탕으로 냉 난방 에너지 절감량과 온실가스 감축잠재량을 산정하였다.

Parametric study of propeller boss cap fins for container ships

  • The global price of oil, which is both finite and limited in quantity, has been rising steadily because of the increasing requirements for energy in both developing and developed countries. Furthermore, regulations have been strengthened across all industries to address global warming. Many studies of hull resistance, propulsion and operation of ships have been performed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. This study examined the design parameters of the propeller boss cap fin (PBCF) and hub cap for 6,000TEU container ships to improve the propulsion efficiency. The design parameters of PBCF have been selected based on the geometrical shape. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis with a propeller open water (POW) test was performed to check the validity of CFD analysis. The design of experiment (DOE) case was selected as a full factorial design, and the experiment was analyzed by POW and CFD analysis. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was performed to determine the correlation among design parameters. Four design alternatives of PBCF were selected from the DOE. The shape of a propeller hub cap was selected as a divergent shape, and the divergent angle was determined by the DOE. Four design alternatives of PBCF were attached to the divergent hub cap, and the POW was estimated by CFD. As a result, the divergent hub cap with PBCF has a negative effect on the POW, which is induced by an increase in torque coefficient. A POW test and cavitation test were performed with a divergent hub cap with PBCF to verify the CFD result. The POW test result showed that the open water efficiency was increased approximately 2% with a divergent hub cap compared to a normal cap. The POW test result was similar to the CFD result, and the divergent hub cap with the PBCF models showed lower open water efficiency. This was attributed to an increase in the torque coefficient just like the CFD results. A cavitation test was performed using the 2 models selected. The test result showed that the hub vortex is increased downstream of the propeller.

대형 컨테이너선의 저속 운항 시 선수부 개조 전후 EEOI 변화에 대한 연구 (A study on the change of EEOI before and after modifying bulbous at the large container ship adopting low speed operation)

  • 국제해사기구(IMO)는 온난화의 원인인 온실가스 감축을 위한 강제 규제를 도입하여 시행을 하고 있다. 하지만 여전히 지구의 온난화는 진행 중에 있고, IMO는 빠른 시일 내에 SEEMP와 EEOI에 기반한 자발적인 이산화탄소 감축 방법을 강제화 하려는 움직임이 있다. 연료 및 이산화탄소 절감을 위해 대형 컨테이너 선박은 낮은 속도에서 운항을 결정하였다. 하지만 높은 선속으로 설계되어진 선수 구조는 오히려 선속 저하 때는 저항으로 작용하여 연료 절감 효과를 저해하는 현상을 발견하였다. 대형 컨테이너 선박의 저속화를 위해 선수 구상부를 개조하여 더욱더 높은 연료 절감을 시행하였다. 고속 대형선의 저속 운항에 적합한 선수 개조가 얼마나 효율적으로 운항선 에너지효율지수를 변하게 하는지를 개조 전후의 연료 소비량을 비교 검토하였다. 그 결과 예상했던 것보다 많은 이산화탄소 감축량을 확인하였다. 운항선 이산화탄소 감축 강제 규제가 시행된다면 고속선들의 연료 절감 방법의 하나로 효과적인 적용 방법으로 고려되어진다. 또한 연료절감형 운항 선박에 투자하여 에너지 효율적인 선박으로 운항하기 위한 것이다.

수입 음식료품의 푸드 마일리지 및 이산화탄소 배출량 산정 (Estimation of Food Miles and CO2 Emissions of Imported Food)

  • Increase in greenhouse gas emissions during the last century has led to remarkable changes in our environment and climate system. Many policy measures have been developed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across the world, many of which require our lifestyle changes from energy-intensive to energy-saving. One of the changes in our living patterns is to consider food miles. A food mile is the distance food travels from where it is produced to where it is consumed. Providing information of food miles will help people choose low mileage food, helping promote a "green consumption" action and lead to a low carbon society with emission reduction systems. In this study, 10 items are selected from 23 Harmonized commodity description and 2-digit coding system (HS) to estimate their food miles, and $CO_2$ emissions released in the transportation of imported food. For the estimation, four countries are chosen-Korea, Japan, United Kingdom (UK) and France, with Korea and Japan's 2001, 2003, and 2007 trade statistics and UK and France's 2003 and 2007 trade statistics used. As a result, Korea showed in 2007 the highest level of food miles and $CO_2$ emissions per capita among 4 countries. That suggests that Korea should make an effort to purchase local food to reduce food miles and use low-carbon vehicles for food transport, contributing to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
