Appraisal of Building Energy Systems considering Environment Constraint Conditions

  • This study aims to find out sector effects with the appraisal of building energy systems of urban ecosystem considering cost effects and environmental constraints condition such as climatic change factors including $CO_2$ gas which are not dealt in the institutional boundary as components standards and performance standards on energy performance of each part of a building applied on heavy energy spending buildings at present. The results of the appraisal of building energy systems shows that the existing building energy systems are not enough to fulfil the environmental condition under the environmental constraints supposing QELROs(Quantified Emission Limitation and Reduction Objectives) of carbon-dioxide exhaust. Henceforth, it is needed to fulfill the environmental criteria required by the Climatic Change Agreement for improving the adiabatic performance of each part of a building and active using of the solar energy.

2003년부터 2015년까지 CA 인증 공기청정기의 성능 시험 결과 분석 (Analysis of performance test results of CA-certified air cleaners from 2003 to 2015)

  • In this study, the test results obtained from the performance tests for CA (Korea Association of Cleaning Air) certificated air cleaners which had been commercially available in Korea from 2003 to 2015 were analyzed. Among the test parameters such as flow rate, particle collection efficiency, clean air delivery rate (CADR), ozone emission, odor removal efficiency and noise level, noise level and CADR were correlated with flow rates. Collection and odor removal efficiencies were 20% higher than the limit of the CA certification. The ozone emissions from the air cleaners were negligible because all the air cleaners were equipped with only HEPA filters, not electrostatic precipitation method which produces ozone.

  • Inertial impaction type mist eliminators are the most effective instruments to separate mist from the gas. In this work, the effect of the horizontal chevron type mist eliminators is characterized experimentally. Droplet size distribution and evaluation of removal efficiency of the chevron type mist eliminators at different gas flows were investigated using an aerosol particle size analyzer and a portable aerosol spectrometer, respectively. The experimental investigations showed that the mist removal efficiency in these instruments is dependent in the droplet size, and the pressure drop is nil.

  • 광센서 조광제어시스템은 유용한 주광의 실내유입을 통하여 인공조명의 에너지를 절감하는 시스템이나, 쉐이팅시스템에 의한 주광유입의 차단으로 인하여 그 적용성은 미비하다. 따라서 광센서 조광제어시스템의 적용성 및 에너지 절감량 향상을 위해서는 자동롤러쉐이딩 시스템과의 통합은 필수적이다. 본 연구는 두 시스템을 통합한 주광이용 조광제어시스템의 적용성 향상을 위하여 시스템 적용 시 에너지 절감량을 예측할 수 있는 프로세스를 개발하고 이를 사례에 적용하였다. 개발된 프로세스는 주광이용 조광제어시스템의 초기투자비용 환수 및 시스템 적용을 위한 타당성 분석의 자료로 이용될 것이다.

  • The assessment of the potential for the design of marine renewable energy systems is reviewed and the current situation for marine renewable energy is promising. The most studied forms of marine renewable energy are ocean wind energy, ocean wave energy and tidal energy. Wind turbine generators include mostly horizontal axis type and vertical axis type. But also more exotic ideas such as a kite design. Wave energy devices consist of designs converting wave oscillations in electric power via a power take off equipment. Such equipment can take multiple forms to be more efficient. Nevertheless, the technology alone cannot be the only step towards marine renewable energy. Many other steps must be overcome: policy, environment, manpower as well as consumption habits. After reviewing the current conditions of marine renewable energy development, the authors analyzed the key factors for developing a strong marine renewable energy industry and pointed out the huge potential of marine renewable energy.
