파워흐름경계요소법을 이용한 중고주파 소음해석 소프트웨어 'NASPFA' 개발 (Development of Noise Analysis Software-'NASPFA' in Medium-to-high Frequency Ranges using Power Flow Boundary Element Method)

  • In this paper, Power Flow Boundary Element Method(PFBEM) is studied as the numerical method for the vibration and sound predictions of complex structures in medium-to-high frequency ranges. NASPFA, the sound analysis software based on PFBEM, is developed and is used for the vibro-acoustic analysis. And also the developed software is used for the prediction of interior and exterior sound fields of vibrating structures and for the analysis of the multi-domain problems. To verify the accuracy, NASPFA is applied to the prediction of the energy distribution in the simple structures, and its results are compared with exact PFA solutions. And various practical vehicle systems are modeled and the distributions of the acoustical energy density are successfully predicted.

수소 충전소용 유량제어밸브(FCV)의 구조 및 피로해석을 통한 내구 성능 평가 (Durability Assessment by Structural and Fatigue Analysis of Flow Control Valves (FCVs) for Hydrogen Refueling Stations)

  • This study was conducted to develop a domestic product for a flow control valve for a hydrogen refueling station, and a domestic prototype was manufactured and the durability performance evaluation was conducted through comparison with an imported products. The stress generated by the internal pressure was checked and safety was confirmed using a commercial structural analysis program, ABAQUS, in accordance with the withstand pressure test standards. In addition, after identifying the weak areas the fatigue life was predicted through a commercial software, fe-safe. This fatigue analysis showed that the hydrogen gas repeated test criteria were satisfied.

  • Tumble or swirl flow is used adequately to promote mixing of air and fuel in the cylinder and to enlarge turbulent intensity in the late time of compression stroke. However, since in-cylinder flow is a kind of transient state with rapid flow variation, that is, non-steady state flow, swirl or tumble flow has not been analyzed sufficiently and not been recognized whether they are available for combustion theoretically yet. In the investigation of intake turbulent characteristics using PIV method, different flow characteristics were showed according to SCV figures. SCV installed engine had higher vorticity, turbulent strength by fluctuation and turbulent kinetic energy than a baseline engine, especially around the wall and lower part of the cylinder. Consequently, as swirl flow was added to existing tumble flow, it was found that fluctuation component increased and flow energy was conserved effectively through the experiment.

  • A Comprehensive Vibration Assessment Program (CVAP) has been performed for Yonggwang Nuclear Power Plant Unit 4 (YGN 4) in order to verify the structural integrity of the reactor internals for flow induced vibrations prior to commercial operation. The theoretical evidence for the structural integrity of the reactor internals and the basis for measurement and inspection are provided by the analysis. Flow induced hydraulic loads and reactor internals vibration response data were measured during pre-core hot functional testing in YGN 4 site. Also, the critical areas in the reactor internals were inspected visually to check any existence of structural abnormality before and after the pre-core hot functional testing. Then, the measured data have been analyzed and compared with the predicted data by analysis. The measured stresses are less than the predicted values and the allowable limits. It is concluded that the vibration response of the reactor internals due to the flow induced vibration under normal operation is acceptable for long term operation.

발전소 계통해석을 위한 MARS 코드의 다차원 이상 난류 유동 모델 검증계산 (Assessment of MARS Multi-dimensional Two-phase Turbulent Flow Models for the Nuclear System Analysis)

  • 원자력발전소의 다차원 이상 유동 현상을 적절히 모사하기 위해 일차원 계통해석 코드에 삼차원 유동모델을 적용하였다. 그 중 다차원모델에 새롭게 적용된 이상 난류모델을 검증하기 위해 사각 slab 내부의 단상유동을 계산하여 상용 CFD 코드의 계산결과와 비교하였다. 그 결과 단상유동의 경우 난류 모델의 계산이 적절히 수행됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 다차원 이상 유동 계산을 검증하기 위해서 RPI에서 수행된 물-공기 다차원 실험의 기포율 분포를 비교하였다. 그 결과 다차원 모델의 이상 유동 계산을 위해서는 일차원 기반의 유동양상 맵 중 수평 분리 유동양상이 제거되어야 함을 알 수 있었다. 이와 같이 유동양상 맵을 수정하여 모사한 계산결과가 실험에서 측정된 기포율의 경향을 잘 따르는 것으로 계산되었다.

Numerical analysis of melt migration and solidification behavior in LBR severe accident with MPS method

  • In Lead-based reactor (LBR) severe accident, the meltdown and migration inside the reactor core will lead to fuel fragment concentration, which may further cause re-criticality and even core disintegration. Accurately predicting the migration and solidification behavior of melt in LBR severe accidents is of prime importance for safety analysis of LBR. In this study, the Moving Particle Semi-implicit (MPS) method is validated and used to simulate the migration and solidification behavior. Two main surface tension models are validated and compared. Meanwhile, the MPS method is validated by the L-plate solidification test. Based on the improved MPS method, the migration and solidification behavior of melt in LBR severe accident was studied furthermore. In the Pb-Bi coolant, the melt flows upward due to density difference. The migration and solidification behavior are greatly affected by the surface tension and viscous resistance varying with enthalpy. The whole movement process can be divided into three stages depending on the change in velocity. The heat transfer of core melt is determined jointly by two heat transfer modes: flow heat transfer and solid conductivity. Generally, the research results indicate that the MPS method has unique advantage in studying the migration and solidification behavior in LBR severe accident.

Flow Control Analysis of S-duct Diffuser Inlet

  • An numerical investigation of the flow characteristics inside a diffusing S-duct inlet with and without vortex generators(VGs) was conducted. The primary discussion herein focuses on development of secondary flow in the S-duct with and without VGs, pressure recovery and distortion at the exit are also discussed. Full three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations are solved using finite volume method and $k-\varepsilon$ turbulence model is employed. In order to validate the credibility of the numerical methods, predicted results of surface pressure are compared with flight test for the S-duct inlet without VGs, and it shows fairly good agreement. The result shows that VGs alter the flow characteristics in the S-duct and are effective in reducing distortion and ineffective in improving pressure recovery.
