고성능 RC 기둥의 재하가열시험에 의한 내화 특성 (Properties of Fire Endurance of High Performance RC Column by Loaded Heating Test)

  • This study discusses spalling and fire enduring performance of high performance concrete (HPC) RC column subjected to loading under heating for 3 hours. According to the test, both the plain concrete and the concrete attached with fire enduring PC panel exceed allowable temperature after 60 minutes due to the exposure of steel bar and falling off of concrete resulting from severe spalling failure. It leads to buckling of main bar and at the same time, occurrence of collapse of plain HPC column member is observed after 2 hours and 1 hour 40 minutes's exposure to fire, respectively. On the other hand, HPC applying both PP fiber of 0.1$\%$ by mass of concrete and PP fiber+lateral confinement by metal lath maintains their original cross section, which is satisfied with the 3 hours fire endurance criteria, by discharging internal vapour pressure and enhanced lateral confinement force.

  • Generally, the usage motor in the vehicle is exposed to highly ambient temperature and large vibration according to repeatedly starting and stopping during very short time. So, in this paper, the rotor shape design was performed to improve demagnetization endurance by considering starting current of Brushless DC Motor (BLDCM) through Finite Element Method(FEM). As a result, the end of Permanent Magnet (PM) in the basic model was occurring a partial irreversible demagnetization by starting current. To solve this problem, the installing flux barrier was limited to flux line on the core. Accordingly, demagnetization endurance and operating characteristics were improved.

  • For decades, in-memory data structures have been designed for DRAM-based main memory that provides symmetric read/write performances and has no limited write endurance. However, such data structures provide sub-optimal performance for NVM as it has different characteristics to DRAM. With this motivation, we rethink a conventional red-black tree in terms of its efficacy under NVM settings. The original red-black tree constantly rebalances sub-trees so as to export fast access time over dataset, but it inevitably increases the write traffic, adversely affecting the performance for NVM with a long write latency and limited endurance. To resolve this problem, we present a variant of the red-black tree called a hierarchical balanced binary search tree. The proposed structure maintains multiple keys in a single node so as to amortize the rebalancing cost. The performance study reveals that the proposed hierarchical binary search tree effectively reduces the write traffic by effectively reaping the high capacity of NVM.

속실렛 추출법에 의한 밀랍지의 탈랍처리 효과분석 (Effect of Soxhlet Extraction Condition on Dewaxing Efficiency of the Beeswax-Treated Paper)

  • In this study, the effect of soxhlet extraction on dewaxing of the aged beeswax-treated paper was examined. To do this, soxhlet extraction of the aged beeswax-treated paper performed with different reflux conditions and then measured the dewaxing efficiency and change in the various properties such as tensile strength, folding endurance, color and brightness. Also, an artificial aging test was executed in order to investigate the effect of soxhlet extraction on the preservability of the dewaxed paper. As the result of FT-IR analysis, a peak area of CH and COOH group, which are main band of beeswax, was decreased or removed after soxhlet extraction. The decreasing rate of each peaks were increased depending on reflux time. After dewaxing, the physical property such as MIT type folding endurance and tensile strength was decreased. And $L^*$ value and brightness were increased while $a^*$ and $b^*$ value were decreased due to the remove of color compounds in beeswax. The more color deviation (${\Delta}E$) is expected with higher reflux times. As the result of artificial aging, preservability of two dewaxed papers except of DP_SE(C) sample was higher than that of untreated paper i.e. beeswax-treated paper.

제주산마의 운동강도별 심폐지구력 측정 (Evaluation of the Cardiorespiratory Endurance of Jeju Crossbred Horses according to Exercise Intensity)

  • 본 연구는 제주산마의 hill test 및 운동 강도별 심폐지구력 측정으로 승용능력 평가를 위한 기초 자료로 활용하기 위해 수행하였다. 분석에 이용된 제주산마 9두는 경사도 30도 내외의 경사로 800 m를 주행하는 hill test를 실시하였으며, 이 중 6 두는 운동 강도별(moderate, heavy, very heavy) 심폐지구력을 측정하였다. Hill test 주행시간은 평균 205 초였으며, 개체간 편차는 큰 것으로 확인 되었고, moderate exercise와 높은 상관관계를 보였다. 운동 강도별 평균 심박수는 유의적인 차이가 없었으나, 개체간 평균 심박수는 차이가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 회복 심박수는 heavy exercise와 very heavy exercise에서 높은 상관관계를 확인할 수 있었다. 본 실험결과, 운동 강도별 평균 심박수 차이는 확인 할 수 없었으나, 개체간의 차이는 큰 것으로 확인되었다.

Effect of age on heart rate, blood lactate concentration, packed cell volume and hemoglobin to exercise in Jeju crossbreed horses

  • Background: This study aimed to analyze the on heart rate, blood lactate concentration, packed cell volume (PCV) and hemoglobin (Hb) response after conducting exercise in endurance horses. Methods: A total of 20 healthy 3-9-years-old Jeju crossbreed mares ($5.95{\pm}2.24$ year) of age and $312.65{\pm}13.59kg$ of weight) currently participating the endurance competition were used. The field tests selected for the experiment was gallop (approximately 8.3 m/s) along the selected 2.5 km course (a natural forest trail, not artificial road; a closed loop course). The horses were divided into three groups according to their age; 3-4 years of age (G1, $3.29{\pm}0.49$ year), 6-7 years of age (G2, $6.42{\pm}0.53$), and 8-9 years of age (G3, $8.50{\pm}0.55$). The measurements times for the heart rate, blood lactate concentration, PCV, and Hb analysis were conducted before exercise (T0), shortly after exercise (T1), 15 min after exercise (T2), and 30 min after exercise (T3), respectively. Data was analyzed using an analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) for repeated measures with times and groups. Results: The results of the comparison depending on the passage of rest time after exercise suggest that the heart rate and blood lactate concentration of three groups at T2 significantly decreased compared to T1 (p < 0.001). PCV of the G2 and G3 groups were significantly decreased at T2 compared to T1 (p < 0.01). Hb values at G2 (p < 0.01) and G3 (p < 0.001) groups were significantly decreased at T2 as compared to T1. However, heart rate, blood lactate concentration, PCV and Hb level at T1 showed no difference in the comparison of horses from different age groups with the exception of G3 group in terms of heart rate. Conclusion: The physiologic and hematological responses of horses during recovery time after 2,500 m exercise with gallop were no significant difference among the groups. These data are useful as a response evaluation method for training of endurance horses.

택시 운전자를 위한 심뇌혈관질환 예방 프로그램 개발 및 효과 (Development and Evaluation of Cardiocerebrovascular Disease Prevention Program for Taxi Drivers)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 택시운전자를 위한 심뇌혈관질환 예방 프로그램을 개발하고 생리적 변수(혈압, 혈당, 혈청 지질), 신체적 변수(체지방율, 근지구력, 심폐지구력, 균형)에 미치는 효과를 검증하고자 시도하였다. 본 연구는 프로그램 개발과 효과 평가의 2단계로 진행하였다. 1단계는 택시 운전자를 위한 심뇌혈관질환 예방 프로그램을 개발하기 위해 2011년 3월 2일부터 4월 30일까지 택시 운전자 321명을 대상으로 건강상태 및 생활습관, 건강관리 요구도를 설문조사하였으며 이를 근거로 프로그램을 개발하였다. 2단계는 개발된 프로그램의 효과를 검증하기 위해 2011년 6월 1일부터 10월 5일까지 택시 운전자 51명에게 12주 동안 운동 1주 3회, 질병교육 4회, 영양 상담 2회 실시하였다. 연구결과는 프로그램 전보다 후에 혈압, 혈당, 혈청지질은 통계적으로 유의하게 감소하지 않았으나 체지방율은 유의하게 감소하였으며(t=3.108, p=.003), 근지구력(t=-7.621, p<.001), 심폐지구력(t=-3.388, p=.001), 균형(t=-4.133, p<.001)은 통계적으로 유의하게 증가한 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과를 근거로 운동, 질환교육, 영양상담으로 구성된 프로그램을 고혈압, 당뇨, 비만 등 심뇌혈관질환 선행질환 유병율이 높은 택시 운전자를 위한 심뇌혈관질환 예방프로그램으로 제안하고자 한다.

A Feasibility Study for a Stratospheric Long-endurance Hybrid Unmanned Aerial Vehicle using a Regenerative Fuel Cell System

  • In the stratosphere, the air is stable and a photovoltaic (PV) system can produce more solar energy compared to in the atmosphere. If unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) fly in the stratosphere, the flight stability and efficiency of the mission are improved. On the other hand, the weakened lift force of the UAV due to the rarefied atmosphere can require more power for lift according to the weight and/or wing area of the UAV. To solve this problem, it is necessary to minimize the weight of the aircraft and improve the performance of the power system. A regenerative fuel cell (RFC) consisting of a fuel cell (FC) and water electrolysis (WE) combined PV power system has been investigated as a good alterative because of its higher specific energy. The WE system produces hydrogen and oxygen, providing extra energy beyond the energy generated by the PV system in the daytime, and then saves the gases in tanks. The FC system supplies the required power to the UAV at night, so the additional fuel supply to the UAV is not needed anymore. The specific energy of RFC systems is higher than that of Li-ion battery systems, so they have less weight than batteries that supply the same energy to the UAV. In this paper, for a stratospheric long-endurance hybrid UAV based on an RFC system, three major design factors (UAV weight, wing area and performance of WE) affecting the ability of long-term flight were determined and a simulation-based feasibility study was performed. The effects of the three design factors were analyzed as the flight time increased, and acceptable values of the factors for long endurance were found. As a result, the long-endurance of the target UAV was possible when the values were under 350 kg, above 150 m2 and under 80 kWh/kg H2.

S.O.T CATEGORY II BLOCKING이 복근지구력과 어깨 통증에 미치는 영향 (THE EFFECT OF SACROOCCIPITAL TECHNIQUE CATEGORY II BLOCKING ON ABDOMINAL MUSCLE ENDURANCE AND SHOULDER PAIN)

  • 본 연구는 카이로프랙틱 기법 중 누운 자세에서 시술되어지는 S.O.T category II 골반 블록 중재가 골반의 불안정으로 인한 기울어짐을 회복시킴으로써 이에 따른 어깨통증을 줄이고 복근의 지구력을 향상시킬 수 있는지 알아보고자 한 것이다. 이 실험을 위해 엉치엉덩관절의 불안정을 가지고 있으며 허리의 통증이 있는 총 50명의 참여자가 실험군과 대조군에 각 25명씩 무작위 할당되었다. 실험군은 category II 블록 중재를 받았고, 대조군은 거짓블록 중재를 받았으며, 이들 두 집단을 통해 중재 전, 중재 후, 그리고 중재 2주 후에 복근지구력과 어깨통증을 측정하여 그 결과를 반복측정 이원분산분석법으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 S.O.T category II 골반 블록 중재 후 실험집단에서 복근지구력이 유의한 증가를 보였으며 중재가 끝난 2주 후에도 유지 되었다. 또한 어깨통증의 경우에도 실험집단에서 통증의 감소를 보였으며 역시 중재가 끝난 2주 후에도 유의한 감소를 보였다. 이상의 연구 결과를 종합해 볼 때 S.O.T category II 골반 블록 중재는 골반의 안정성을 유도하여 복근지구력을 증진시키고, 어깨통증을 감소시키며 중재 후에도 지속효과가 있는 것으로 나타남으로, 골반의 불안정성이 원인이 되는 어깨통증이나 복근지구력을 회복시킬 수 있는 중재법으로 활용되어질 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

일회성 경두개 직류전기자극(tDCS) 적용이 젊은 성인의 하지 근지구력에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Acute Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation on Muscle Endurance of the Lower Extremities for Young Healthy Adults)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of acute transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) on the isokinetic muscular endurance of the lower extremity for young adults. Method: Thirteen young adults performed isokinetic fatigue tasks for two experimental conditions including real tDCS and sham stimulation protocols. Before and after the task, the tensiomyography was used for evaluating muscle contraction characteristics of vastus medialis and semitendinosus. Paired t-test was performed to compare the fatigue index, changes in maximum radial displacement (∆Dm), delay time (∆Tc), and velocity of contraction (∆Vc) between tDCS conditions. Results: We found no significant differences in the fatigue index between real and sham conditions. In addition, the analyses identified no significant different values of ∆Dm, ∆Tc, and ∆Vc in the vastus medialis and semitendinosus between real and sham conditions. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the tDCS protocols may have no acute effect on lower limb muscle endurance for young adults. Future studies should consider the long-term effects of repetitive tDCS sessions, various stimulation positions, exercise tasks, and participant characteristics to more clearly understand the effect of tDCS on muscle endurance of lower extremities.
