  • A carbonation shortens the endurance life of RC structure. So, to lengthen endurance life of RC structure, we use some kinds of surface-finishes. Because surface-finishes have abilities such as restraint against penetration and diffusion of CO2. In this study, we wanted to know whether we can evaluate the restrain effect of each surface-finish against carbonation with using FEM analysis. After study, we found that it is possible and we also evaluate the restrain effect of any other surface-finishes against carbonation through this process.

  • In these days, almost urban railway vehicle has been serviced under the random load application. But it is very important that fatigue lift prediction fur structures is major factor of safety. So do this, it is required that fatigue assessment method for cumulative damage approach while Korea domestic regulations only has endurance limit approach. With this endurance limit approach, fatigue lift prediction is impossible. In this research, it will be present that fatigue assessment for urban transit structure by using of cumulative damage approach method and related theories.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate isokinetic strength changes of knee joint in accordance with short-term weight loss of wrestlers. For this purpose, 14 male wrestlers of a K technical high school in B city participated in our research. The wrestlers were divided into two groups; one group of the wrestlers didn't lose any weight, and the other lost over 5% of their weights. The isokinetic strength was also observed before and after weight loss. The isokinetic strenght test were processed at test speed of the$60^{\circ}C$/sec, $90^{\circ}C$/sec, and $250^{\circ}C$/sec with the CYBEX NORM system(Cybex 770+TMS, USA). Peak torque, peak torque %BW, total work, total work %BW, and endurance ratio were measured. Results showed that the isokinetic strength after the short-term weight loss of wrestlers decreased meaningfully Although endurance ratio didn't show any meaningful difference in our research, but more accurate research may find out the relationship between short-term weight loss and the endurance ratio of isokinetic strength.

  • It is well established that endurance performance is negatively affected by environmental heat stress. Numerous scientific investigations have attempted to improve performance in the heat with pre-cooling and per-cooling for endurance athletes. Some cooling strategies are more logistically challenging than others, and thus are often impractical for use in training or competition. The purpose of this study was to review the literature on the use of cooling interventions in the improvement of performance and recovery from exercise-induced heat stress. We undertook an examination that focused on the effects of pre-cooling and per-cooling on the improvement in endurance performance and the effects of post-exercise cooling on recovery. The benefits for pre-cooling and per-cooling strategies undertaken in the laboratory setting could be employed by athletes who compete in hot environmental conditions to improve performance. Most laboratory studies have shown improvements in endurance performance following pre-cooling and per-cooling, and in recovery following post-cooling. Cooling strategies such as cooling vest, neck cooling collar, menthol and ice slurry are practically relevant to sports field. Cooling interventions that can be applied frequently to reduce thermal strain prior to, during and directly after training appear to be the best effective strategy to improve performance and recovery. Future research is warranted to investigate the effectiveness of practical pre-cooling and per-cooling strategies in competition or field settings.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of complex ergogenic aid supplementation on endurance performance, energy substrate utilization (glucose, FFA) and blood fatigue factors (ammonia, lactate, phosphorous, pH, 5-HT) in endurance exercise. Subjects (male=10) took in complex ergogenic aid (180 ml/day) for 4 weeks and were tested after pre-test. Endurance performance times increased after supplementation compared to before supplementation. However, there was no additional accumulation of the fatigue materials. Thus the complex ergogenic aid supplementation caused the delay of the fatigue material accumulation during endurance exercise.

  • The purpose of this study was to compare and analyze life habits and senior fitness according to metabolic syndrome by sex and age in the elderly and prevent metabolic syndrome in the elderly. A questionnaire survey for life habits and senior fitness measurement were conducted with 159 old men and 233 old women(a total of 392) who used welfare facilities for the elderly located in G Metropolitan City. The results were as follows. 1. In the comparison of life habits according to metabolic syndrome by sex and age, while old men showed a significant difference in smoking, drinking and drug intake, and stress relief, old women showed a significant difference in drinking and drug intake and dietary habits. 2. In the comparison of senior fitness according to metabolic syndrome by sex and age, while old men had a significant difference in lower and upper body muscle strength, old women had a significant difference in lower and upper body muscle strength, and general endurance. Based on the findings, the elderly's life habits according to metabolic syndrome had a difference in smoking, drinking and drug, and dietary life and senior fitness had a significant difference in muscle strength, flexibility, and endurance. Thus, the elderly need the methods for exercise habits and stress relief for healthy life. Also, old men should steadily strive to improve flexibility, endurance, agility, and balance and old women should steadily strive to improve agility and balance. When the elderly are careful for decreased fitness with age and strive to maintain healthy life habits, their quality of life will be improved and metabolic syndrome will be prevented.

  • The aim of this study was to examine the effect of a brisk walking intervention for 8weeks on isokinetic muscular function factor(strength, power, endurance). The following results were found from the current study: First, Isokinetic muscle function(strength, power, endurance) on $60^{\circ}/sec$ in extension and flexion was significant exercise group and interaction in left knee flexion and right knee extension(P<.00l). Secondly, Isokinetic muscle function(strength, power, endurance) on $120^{\circ}/sec$ in extension and flexion was significant exercise group and interaction in left knee flexion and right knee extension(P<.001). Thirdly, Isokinetic muscle function(strength, power, endurance) on $180^{\circ}/sec$ in extension and flexion was significant exercise group and interaction in left knee flexion and right knee extension(P<.001). Considering the above result of the study the brisk walking had more improvement knee flexor and extensor muscular power. Therefore the brisk walking in the study can be proposed as effective plan to prevention hurt from a sarcopenia and to raise quality in life.

  • Objectives : To characterize four types of obesity and to effectively improve the treatment of obesity through Oriental medicine Methods : At 00 Oriental Medical Center, 203 female subjects who intented to lose weight were requested to complete a questionnaire. These participants were also given physical tests. The Questionnaire consisted of questions both about general life style and obesity in oriental medicine framework. The physical tests were blood tests, a body composition via Inbody 2.0, and physical strength tests. One-way analysis of variance was done to compare the means of items and physical tests between four types of obesity. Duncan was used by post hoc test. Results : 1. Significant differences between obesity type III and obesity type IV in ever tried to lose weight, childhood obesity and excercise times were observed in the questionnaire of general life style(p<0.05). 2. Ducan test showed significant differences between four obesity types in diseases (p<0.05). 3. Significant differences between four obesity types in height, % body fat muscular endurance, soft lean mass, fat mass, Trigliceride, Total cholesterol and ${\gamma}-GTP$ were observed (p<0.05). Conclusions : Further clinical research is necessary in the four types of obesity explored. The diagnosis and treatment based on these types should be further studied.

  • The main objective of the study is to provide the criteria for determining the proper life cycle of rebuiled diesel-electric locomotive currently being operated in KNR. We predicted the most critical sections of the underframes and tested the diesel-electric locomotive vehicle to measure dynamic stresses applied to the underframes. The fileld test of the diesel-electric locomotive estimated 17.08years based on the fatigue-life estimation when they are continuously used in the present operation condition.
