  • The geometry parameter of tool such as rake angle and clearance angle is defined clearly to solve the difference in communication between design and measurement stage. Using the developed simulation program, wheel is properly determined and end mill can be manufactured accurately. The performance test with well defined end mill provides sufficient information to decide optimal geometry. For machining hardened steel, end mills are designed and manufactured. Optimal rake angle and clearance angle is obtained from performance test. A specific software for automatic end mill production is developed far simulation and fur generation of NC code as Cad/CAM system.

  • Non-destructive out-hole tests, impact-echo and impact-response are widely applied to evaluate integrity of drilled shafts. In these tests, vibratory motions of drilled shafts are interpreted, which induced by impacts on the shaft head. In applying the tests to evaluating integrity of shaft, it has been attended whether the tests have resolutions enough to distinguish existence of slime at between the shaft end and a bearing soil deposit. To distinguish existence of slime by tests, modes of shaft vibrations need to be reasonably interpreted, which generally vary according to a shaft boundary condition such as, a free-free or a free-fixed condition. The boundary condition of a shaft is, however, found to be significantly affected by stiffness of soil deposits around shaft as well as penetration depths of shaft into a bearing soil deposit. Thus, these effects on the boundary condition of a shaft should be considered reasonably in interpreting test results to decide the existence of slime. To investigate the effects, in this study, vibratory motions of shafts constructed in various soil conditions and end penetration depths are examined analytically. Based on the studies, variations of boundary condition are characterized in terms of soil stiffness contrast between a shaft perimeter and a shaft end, and also the ratio of a penetration depth to a shaft length. The results can be applied to verify the applicability of tests to identify the slime.

  • This study was administered to identify features of masstiege high-end products by comparing to original old high-end products. For this purpose, the differences in shopping orientation between each consumer groups by product types(high-end products, original old high-end products) preferred were examined. 300 female consumers were surveyed and 279 data were used for analysis. The results are as follows. First, three elements(efficiency, enjoyment, convenience) of shopping orientation were constructed by factor analysis and efficiency element of all elements had highest explanation power. The differences in shopping orientation between masstiege high-end products and original old high-end products were identified by t-test. The consumers preferring original old high-end products regarded convenience element as an important factor and the consumers preferring masstiege high-end products considered efficiency element more. The correlation analysis between shopping orientation factors and demographic characteristics were administered. The consumers who were of low age, low education, low income and unmarried pursued efficiency more, the consumers who were unmarried, of high education and high income showed to pursue enjoyment more, and the consumers who were of high age, high education, high income and married considered convenience element more. Finally marketing strategies for masstiege brands were suggested.

  • A Dead-end mode operation is one of the best way to maximize the gas usage rate. But, some components of fuel cell stack like gas diffusion layer(GDL) or membrane can be damaged in dead-end mode operation. In this study, a Large Scale Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell(PEMFC) for a dead-end operation has been developed. The stack is composed with 4 cells which has over 400cm2 of active area. Hydrogen is used as a fuel, and oxygen is used as a oxidant. The dead-end operation performance was evaluated by a long-term dead-end mode operation. The fuel cell stack is operated over 1,500 hours in dead-end mode operating fuel cell test station. And the performance change of the fuel cell stack was investigated.

  • Using end-user attitude as intervening variable, this paper proposes a causal model of how environmental factors of EUC influence end-user computing (EUC) success, measured by the degree of IS use. This study identifies unique aspects of the EUC environment and generates key dimensions of end-user attitude appropriate for this context : perceived information quality, perceived design quality, and perceived usefulness. The research model includes six environmental factors - top management support, end-user education, task variability, task analyzability, end-user's computing ability, and end-user involvement. A field study was undertaken to test the hypothesized relationships among the research variables. The results generally support the assumption that end-user attitude intervene the impact of environmental factors on IS use. The implications of the findings are discussed.

  • 141,841 car-to-car collision had occurred in 2003, and among the accidents 51,796 were rear-end impact. According to insurance company for loss or damage, more than $60\%$ of rear-end impact victims suffer neck injury. This means at least 31,000 neck injury victims have happened in 2003. More than $97\%$ of the neck injury victims have low severity injury than A.I.S 2. Head restraint, which is designed to limit rearward head movement and equipped on seat, can considerably protect neck from rear-end impact. In this paper we evaluated head restraint geometry and drivers' sitting position according to RCAR standard and carried out low speed volunteer crash test. The crash speed is 4km/h and N.I.C value is used to determine injury probability. Through these research results we can introduce the method to prevent neck injury at rear-end impact.

  • Since the end treatments of guardrails installed on domestic roads have the shapes which can easily penetrate and turnover a vehicle, the occupant can be subjected to severe injury when a vehicle impacts the end treatments. In this study, the criteria of performance evaluation for end treatments are suggested which are suitable to domestic road circumstances. Based on the investigation for the installation and studies instances of end treatments, the mechanism of end treatments is examined and the new end treatment suitable to domestic road circumstances is suggested. The suggested end treatment was verified by computer simulation using d LS-DYNA programs and satisfied the suggested performance evaluation criteria for end treatments. And the developed end treatment was verified by full-scale vehicle crash test and satisfied the following three primary appraisal factors of the suggested performance evaluation criteria for end treatments; occupant risk criteria, structural adequacy, and after-collision vehicle trajectory. This study is the first to develop end treatments considering the occupant safety in Korea. Therefore, If the developed end treatments is installed on roads and highways, it can be expected that it will reduce the grave situation of end treatment accidents and increase the safety of roads.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the levels of end-of-life care competency; knowledge, attitudes, and experiences regarding advance directives; perceptions of good death; and end-of-life care obstacles and supportive behaviors among tertiary care nurses. Methods: The participants were 150 nurses at a tertiary hospital in Jinju, Korea. The data collected using a questionnaire were analyzed using descriptive statistics, the t-test, analysis of variance, Pearson correlation coefficients, and stepwise multiple regression in SPSS for Windows version 24.0. Results: The mean (±SD) score of end-of-life care competency was 3.63 (±0.53) on a 5-point scale. A significant difference in end-of-life care competency was found according to whether nurses had experienced the death of a family member or acquaintance (P=0.029). According to stepwise multiple regression analysis, the factors affecting end-of-life care competency were the frequency of end-of-life care supportive behaviors (β=0.38, P<0.001), experience with advance directives (β=0.29, P<0.001), and marriage (β=0.15, P=0.039). This model had an explanatory power of 27.9% (F=18.87, P<0.001). Conclusion: In order to improve nurses' end-of-life care competency, it is important to strengthen end-of-life care supportive behaviors by exposing nurses to those behaviors and providing frequent experience with advance directives.
