  • As the advancement of technologies on indoor positioning systems and measuring devices such as LiDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) and cameras, the demands on analyzing and searching indoor spaces and visualization services via virtual and augmented reality have rapidly increasing. To this end, it is necessary to model 3D objects from measured data from real-world structures. In addition, it is important to store these structured data in standardized formats to improve the applicability and interoperability. In this paper, we propose a method to construct IndoorGML data, which is an international standard for indoor modeling, from point cloud data acquired from LiDAR sensors. After examining considerations that should be addressed in IndoorGML data, we present a construction method, which consists of free space extraction and connectivity detection processes. With experimental results, we demonstrate that the proposed method can effectively reconstruct the 3D model from point cloud.

  • This paper deals with the problem of double-talk (DT) detection in anacoustic echo canceller (AEC). In the DT detection algorithm with correlation coefficient, detection errors occasionally occur because it is hard to set the threshold to distinguish DT from echo path change (EPC). Adaptive filter falls into the situation that it stops updating its filter coefficients when EPC is erroneously considered as DT at the starting-point of EPC. In addition, in case of echo path changing during the DT period, the end-point detection of DT period fails so that the AEC cannot update its filter coefficients for a while even after the DT period ends. To solve these problems, in this paper, we propose a novel AEC that employs an auxiliary filter. We use the idea that though the error signal cannot be estimated using reference signal in case or DT situation but it can be in case or EPC situation. The experimental result verifies that the proposed method could solve the problems caused by DT detection error or echo path change during the DT period.

  • This paper presents a novel method for real-time malfunction detection of plasma etching process using EPD signal traces. First, many reference EPD signal traces are collected using monochromator and data acquisition system in normal etching processes. Critical points are defined by applying differentiation and zero-crossing method to the collected reference signal traces. Critical parameters such as intensity, slope, time, peak, overshoot, etc., determined by critical points, and frame attributes transformed signal-to symbol of reference signal traces are saved. Also, UCL(Upper Control Limit) and LCL(Lower Control Limit) are obtained by mean and standard deviation of critical parameters. Then, test EPD signal traces are collected in the actual processes, and frame attributes and critical parameters are obtained using the above mentioned method. Process malfunctions are detected in real-time by applying SPC(Statistical Process Control) method to critical parameters. the Real-time malfunction detection method presented in this paper was applied to actual processes and the results indicated that it was proved to be able to supplement disadvantages of existing quality control check inspecting or testing random-selected devices and detect process malfunctions correctly in real-time.

  • A kinetic assay was carried out in order to compare the ability of detection for prekallikrein activator(PKA) in plasma-derived products with that of an endpoint assay and a commercial method. Using these methods, 9 human albumin preparations were assayed and compared to each other. The coefficient of variation between the Kinetic assay and the end point assay was found within 6.6% and this result showed that two methods were highly correlative and the end point assay could act as a replacement of the kinetic assay. Another important goal of this study was to investigate the reproducibility among laboratories on the kinetic assay. A collaborative study was performed to validate the kinetic method with intra and inter assays. The coefficient of variation for the intra assay of each laboratory was less than 4% and that for between individuals in the inter assay was 4.1%. These results revealed that the kinetic assay showed good reproducibility. The contents of PKA in plasma-derived products were also determined by the kinetic assay. As a result, it was found that trace amounts of PKA were present in 32 human immunoglobulin preparations, however the average concentration of PKA in 171 albumin preparations was 5.8 IU/mL.

  • The end point of oxide chemical mechanical polishing (CMP) have determined by polishing time calculated from removal rate and target thickness of oxide. This study is about control of oxide removal amounts on the shallow trench isolation (STI) patterned wafers using removal rate and thickness of blanket (non-patterned) wafers. At first, it was investigated the removal properties of PETEOS blanket wafers, and then it was compared with the removal properties and the planarization (step height) as a function of polishing time of the specific STI patterned wafers. We found that there is a relationship between the oxide removal amounts of blanket and patterned wafers. We analyzed this relationship, and the post CMP thickness of patterned wafers could be controlled by removal rate and removal target thickness of blanket wafers. As the result of correlation analysis, we confirmed that there was the strong correlation between patterned and blanket wafer (correlation factor: 0.7109). So, we could confirm the repeatability as applying for STI CMP process from the obtained linear formula. As the result of repeatability test, the differences of calculated polishing time and actual polishing time was about 3.48 seconds. If this time is converted into the thickness, then it is from 104 $\AA$ to 167 $\AA$. It is possible to be ignored because process margin is about 1800 $\AA$.

  • A strain of Pepper mottle virus (PepMov) was isolated from chili pepper plants in Korea. In host range study, this virus, designated PepMoV-SNU1, shared most characteristics with PepMoV isolates reported previously. Thermal inactivation point ($45^{\circ}C\;to\;75^{\circ}C$) and dilution end point ($10^{-1}\;to\;10^{-4}$) of PepMoV-SNU1 showed differences depending on the propagation hosts. Cylindrical and pinwheel-shaped inclusions were always observed in pepper leaf tissues infected with the virus alone. Unexpectedly, a special structure of pinwheel shaped inclusion surrounded with unknown small spots was also observed in the leaf section when co-infected with a strain of pepper mild mottle virus. The partial sequence of coat protein gene and 3' untranslated region of PepMoV-SNU1 showed 98% identity with those of other PepMoV isolates. A primer pair derived from 3' end of the coat protein gene and poly A tail regions were designed. Optimal detection condition of PepMoV-SNU1 by RT-PCR was tested to determine appropriate annealing temperature and additional volumes of oligo-dT (18-mer), dNTP, and Taq polymerase. Under the optimized condition, an expected 500 Up PCR-product was detected in pepper leaves infected with PepMoV-SNU1 but not in healthy plants.

  • A new device to detect methamphetamine (MA), amphetamine(A) and its metabolites in urine was developed using the paper strip method and the test tube method of dry chemical reagents. The reagent containing tetrabromophenolphthalein ethyl ester (TBPE) and borax. For the TBPE paper strip method, a device was prepared with a window at each end of the reagent paper strip ; one window is for the sample application, and the other window is for the methylene chloride. The diffused sample from one window reacts with reagent in the paper and produces color at the point where it meets with methylene chloride which has diffused form the other side. A positive smaple produces as red-purple color and the negative sample a greenish color, with a detection limit of 5-10 ppm. The result can be obtained within one minute. For the TBPE test tube method which contains dry reagents, the detection limit is 5 ppm and the result can be obtaineed within 30 seconds, however the carry-on is not as convenient as the paper strip method. The performance of both methods were evlauated by comparing with the results of gas chromatography (GC) and fluorescence polarizaiton immunoassay (FPIA). The results were proven that both methods were useful as primary screening reagents to detect MA in urine and in dry powder.
