  • Encrypted images obtained through double random phase-encoding (DRPE) occupy considerable storage space. We propose efficient compression schemes to reduce the size of the encrypted data. In the proposed schemes, two state-of-art compression methods of JPEG and JP2K are applied to the quantized encrypted phase images obtained by combining the DRPE algorithm with the virtual photon counting imaging technique. We compute the nonlinear cross-correlation between the registered reference images and the compressed input images to verify the performance of the compression of double random phase-encoded images. We show quantitatively through experiments that considerable compression of the encrypted image data can be achieved while security and authentication factors are completely preserved.

  • This paper proposes a novel reversible secret sharing scheme using AES algorithm in encrypted images. In the proposed scheme, a role of the dealer is divided into an image provider and a data hider. The image provider encrypts the cover image with a shared secret key and sends it to the dealer. The dealer embeds the secret data into the encrypted image and transmits encrypted shadow images to the corresponding participants. We utilize Galois polynomial arithmetic operation over 28 and the coefficient of the higher-order term is fixed to one in order to prevent the overflow. In experimental results, we demonstrate that the PSNR is sustained close to 44dB and the embedding capacity is 524,288 bits.

  • In this paper, we proposed a new visual cryptography scheme based on optical interference which improves the contrast and SNR of reconstructed images comparing with conventional visual cryptography method. We divided an binary image to be encrypted into n slides. To encrypt them, (n-1) random independent keys and one another random key by XOR process between four random keys were prepared. XOR between each divided image and each random key makes encrypted n encrypted images. From these images, encrypted binary phase masks can be made. For decryption all of phase masks should be placed together in the interferometer such as Mach-Zehnder interferometer.

  • Reversible data hiding in encrypted images (RDHEI) provides some real-time cloud applications; i.e. the cloud, acting as a data-hider, automatically embeds timestamp in the encrypted image uploaded by a content owner. Many existing methods of RDHEI only satisfy user privacy in which the data-hider does not know the original image, but leaks owner privacy in which the receiver can obtains the original image by decryption and extraction. In the literature, the method of Zhang et al. is the one providing weak content-owner privacy in which the content-owner and data-hider have to share a data-hiding key. In this paper, we take care of the stronger notion, called strong content-owner privacy, and achieve it by presenting a new reversible data hiding in encrypted images. In the proposed method, image decryption and message extraction are separately controlled by different types of keys, and thus such functionalities are decoupled to solve the privacy problem. At the technique level, the original image is segmented along a Hilbert filling curve. To keep image privacy, segments are transformed into an encrypted image by using random permutation. The encrypted image does not reveal significant information about the original one. Data embedment can be realized by using pixel histogram-style hiding, since this property, can be preserved before or after encryption. The proposed method is a modular method to compile some specific reversible data hiding to those in encrypted image with content owner privacy. Finally, our experimental results show that the image quality is 50.85dB when the averaged payload is 0.12bpp.

  • Block compressed sensing (BCS) is widely used in image sampling and is an efficient, effective technique. Through the use of BCS, an image can be simultaneously compressed and encrypted. In this paper, a novel reversible data hiding (RDH) method is proposed to embed additional data into BCS images. The proposed method is the first RDH method of its kind for BCS images. Results demonstrate that our approach performs better compared with other state-of-the-art RDH methods on encrypted images.

  • In this paper, an encryption method to share a secret binary image is proposed. It divides the image to be encrypted into an arbitrary number of images and encrypts them using XOR process with different binary random images which was prepared by the means of the XOR process, too. Each encrypted slice image can be distributed to the authenticated ones. However, we transfer the encrypted images to the binary phase masks to strengthen the security power, that means phase masks can not be copied with general light-intensity sensitive tools such as CCDs or cameras. For decryption, we used the Mach-Zehnder interferometer in which linearly polarized two light beams in orthogonal direction, respectively. The experimental result proved the efficiency of the proposed method.

  • A modified version of Zhang's reversible data hiding method in encrypted images is proposed in this letter. To make full use of spatial correlation in natural images, the former idea of block division is thoroughly abandoned, whereas the random diffusion strategy is used. Additionally, the fluctuation measurement of pixels containing embedded data is improved by accurate prediction. The experiment results reveal that our proposed method is superior to both Zhang's method and the later improved version proposed by Hong and others.

  • One of the best means to safeguard the confidentiality, security, and privacy of an image within the IoT-Cloud is through encryption. However, looking through encrypted data is a difficult process. Several techniques for searching encrypted data have been devised, but certain security solutions may not be used in IoT-Cloud because such solutions are not lightweight. We propose a lightweight scheme that can perform a content-based search of encrypted images, namely EEIRI. In this scheme, the images are represented using local features. We develop and validate a secure scheme for measuring the Euclidean distance between two descriptor sets. To improve the search efficiency, we employ the k-means clustering technique to construct a searchable tree-based index. Our index construction process ensures the privacy of the stored data and search requests. When compared with more familiar techniques of searching images over plaintexts, EEIRI is considered to be more efficient, demonstrating a higher search cost of 7% and a decrease in search accuracy of 1.7%. Numerous empirical investigations are carried out in relation to real image collections so as to evidence our work.
