  • This research is a descriptive study intended to identify the factors involved in the influence of the emotional intelligence of nursing students on their career decision-making self-efficacy and career decision levels. The correlations among the major variables were analyzed by calculating the Pearson's correlation coefficients. To identify the effects of the subjects' general characteristics and emotional intelligence on their career decision-making self-efficacy and career decision levels, a multiple regression analysis was conducted. The analysis results showed that there were positive relationships among emotional intelligence, career decision making and career decision-making self-efficacy. The factors influencing career decision-making self-efficacy were gender (${\beta}=-.155$), motivation to find employment (${\beta}=-.145$), use of emotions (${\beta}=.236$), emotional control (${\beta}=.197$), and understanding of others' emotions (${\beta}=.157$). In addition, the factors affecting the subjects' career decision level were the year level (${\beta}=.273$), motivation to find employment (${\beta}=-.145$), motivation to obtain others' recommendation (${\beta}=-.138$), and emotional control (${\beta}=.223$). Hence, sufficient endorsement from school or home is required with regard to the roles and duties of a nurse, in order to motivate future students to select the nursing degree. Furthermore, it is suggested that emotional intelligence may be improved when the degree program provides a higher proportion of emotional education.

The relationship between the job satisfaction level and the job retainment factors was tested with. the Pearson Correlation Coefficient analysis, and thd differences of job retainment scores among the sample was tested with t-test and ANDVA. The results of the study were summarized. 1. The mean age of the subjects was 29.7 years, 41.7% of them were married. 71.1% of them were 3 years course graduates, 71.8% of them were staff nurses, and the mean duration of experience was 6 years. 2. • This study examined the spillovers (economics) of domestic varieties. The analysis model used the supply-driven of inter-industry analysis (input-output analysis), and the scope of the study was limited to the varieties developed by rural development agencies. The spillovers were analyzed by dividing into the effects on production inducement and employment inducement. First, the effects on production inducement were the largest in Sindongjin, a rice variety, with 49,599.3 billion won. Seolhyang, a strawberry variety, was the second largest with 32,936.9 billion won. On the other hand, Baekma, a flower variety, was small at 87.7 billion won. On the other hand, this is a very large number considering the small area of cultivation of flowers and how most of the flower varieties depend on overseas varieties. Second, the effect on the employment inducement coefficient appeared in a similar order to the effect on production inducement. Sindongjin was the largest with 756,682, and Seolhyang was 701,403. Baekma was analyzed as 1,582 people. The results are of great significance in that it quantitatively analyzed the spillovers of the varieties developed by rural development agencies and ensured a justification for the development of varieties by national institutions through their value.

  • The study of job satisfaction among female dentists is essential to improve the quality of their life. In this study, a job satisfaction survey of female dentists in Gwangju was performed and the factors affecting job satisfaction were examined. A survey of female dentists in Gwangju was conducted using a custom-designed and validated questionnaire which incorporated the Korean Dentist satisfaction Survey (KDSS) as well as questions regarding socio-demographics and professional characteristics. Satisfaction for each question was measured by a 5-point Likert scale. The final analysis was performed with 89 questionnaires, after excluding 3 non-response questionnaires. Analysis of the data for each group was carried out using a Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis H test. The reliability of the questionnaire was identified by the internal consistency of the survey using Cronbach coefficient. The data were statistically analyzed using SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 19, SPSS Inc, Chicago, Ill, USA). The level of statistical significance was set at p = 0.05. On analyzing with use of the above mentioned method, the following findings were observed: Income, leisure time, time for self-development, and overall job satisfaction were lower than the average, especially the percentage of dissatisfaction was much higher than that of satisfaction. Satisfaction was associated with age, duration of employment, and the number of assistants. The limitations of this study are the lack of an adequate sample size, convenience sampling during extraction, the lack of questionnaire items, the limitations of quantitative research, and failure to perform measurement in the non-response group. However, female dentists can be expected to achieve a more satisfactory and enhanced working environment if the research based on the current study is followed up in an expanded target group.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate levels of stress, self-esteem, and powerlessness in Korean husbands married to foreigner wives. Methods: The subjects were 183 Korean men who were living with foreigner wives in the Gwangju, Jeonnam and Jeonnbuk areas. Data were collected from January to May 2012 and analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Scheffe$\acute{e}$ test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and backward multiple regression with the SPSS PC WIN version 18.0. Results: The average level of stress was 4.48, with difficulties in international marriage experienced by the subjects due to differences in language and culture. The average reported self-esteem score was 29.69, and the average powerlessness score 117.76. There were significant differences in perceived powerlessness depending on the employment statuses, income levels, and nationalities of the participants' wives, and their perceived levels of satisfaction with living with a foreigner wife. Powerlessness was positively correlated with stress (r=.41, p<.001), and negatively correlated with self-esteem(r=-.63, p<.001). The factors affecting the perceived powerlessness included self-esteem (${\beta}$=-.54, p<.001), stress (${\beta}$=.28, p<.001), lower income (${\beta}$=.13, p = .016), and working wife (${\beta}$=.12, p = .036). Conclusion: Healthcare providers need to explore strategies to improve self-esteem and powerlessness in Korean men married to foreigner wives.
