공간 단위 탄소중립 기술적용 시나리오 모형(CATAS) 연구 (A Study on the Carbon Neutrality Scenario Model for Technology Application in Units of Space)

  • '탄소중립 기술적용 시나리오 모형 (CATAS; Carbon-neutrality Assessment based on Technology Application Scenario)'은 공간 단위에서 에너지전환, 수송, 건물 등 분야에 탄소중립 기술을 적용했을 경우 온실가스 감축 효과성 분석을 제공한다. 모형의 개발범위는 온실가스 배출원은 온실가스 직접배출량 대상으로 분석하며, 공간적 범위는 직접·간접배출의 경계를 공간적 범위로 설정하였다. 그리고 기술적 범위는 2050 탄소중립 시나리오에서 온실가스 배출량이 가장 큰 전환부문의 9개 기술과 산림 흡수원을 포함하였다. 탄소중립률 평가 방법론은 ①온실가스 배출현황 분석, ②기술도입에 따른 에너지생산량 예측, ③온실가스 감축량 산정, ④탄소중립률 산정까지 4단계로 이루어져있다. 웹기반 CATAS-BASIC을 개발 한 후 서울시의 「2050 온실가스 감축추진계획」상 제시된 신재생에너지 보급목표를 적용하여 분석을 실시하였다. 태양광·수소연료전지·수열을 적용한 결과, 서울시의 전환부문 배출량인 1.49백만 tCO2eq 중 기술도입으로 0.43백만 tCO2eq 감축하여 전환부문 탄소중립률은 28.94 %로 분석되었다.

건축 마감재와 가구재의 VOCs, HCHO 유해물질에 따른 공동주택 적정 환기량 산정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Calculation of Ventilation Rate in Apartment House according to VOCs and HCHO Substances of Building Material and Furniture)

  • Because of the airtightness of building, misuse of building materials and abuse of furniture, indoor air pollution problems have been increasingly concerned especially with apartment buildings. To improve the IAQ(Indoor Air Quality) in apartment building, this study was aimed at analyzing the factor of interior building material and furniture and calculating the ventilation rate of living room and bed room according to the surface area of interior building material and furniture in terms of VOCs(Volatile Organic Compounds) and HCHO(Formaldehyde). The results of this study are as follows; 1) In the concerned rooms, the living room has less pollution emission rate L(surface area/volume) than that of the bed room but, the living room needs more ventilation rate than that of the bed room because of built-in furniture in terms of VOCs and HCHO. 2) Built-in interior furniture is very important factor in IAQ problems of apartment building, but until now there is no provision about the built-in furniture, so that the provision must be regulated to control the IAQ. 3) To control the IAQ problem, the effective ventilation plans must be established according to the required ventilation rate by means of natural or mechanical ventilation method.

Stratton-Chu 공식을 이용한 측정된 근거리장에서 원거리장으로의 변환에 관한 연구 (A Study on Near-Field to Far-Field Transformation Using Stratton-Chu Formula)

  • 본 논문에서는 안테나의 원거리장 특성 및 Electromagnetic Compatibility(EMC) testing을 위한 근거리 원거리장 변환에 대한 연구이다. EMC testing은 광대역 신호 및 거대 구조에 대한 원거리장 측정과 같은 복잡한 과정이 필요하다. EMC 측정 문제를 해결하기 위해, Stratton-Chu 공식을 이용하여 간단하고 직접적인 방법으로 원거리장을 예측하였다. 특히 Stratton-Chu 공식을 이용한 예측은 자유 공간상의 평면파를 통해 해석값을 비교하여 유효성을 검증했다. 패치 안테나의 근거리장 추출과 원거리장 확인을 위해, full-wave 시뮬레이션을 이용하여 Stratton-Chu 계산 결과를 비교 및 검증하였으며, 6 % 이내의 오차로 원거리장의 크기를 예측했다.

Optimization of aircraft fuel consumption and reduction of pollutant emissions: Environmental impact assessment

  • Environmental impact of aircraft emissions can be addressed in two ways. Air quality impact occurs during landings and takeoffs while in-flight impact during climbs and cruises influences climate change, ozone and UV-radiation. The aim of this paper is to investigate airports related local emissions and fuel consumption (FC). It gives flight path optimization model linked to a dispersion model as well as numerical methods. Operational factors are considered and the cost function integrates objectives taking into account FC and induced pollutant concentrations. We have compared pollutants emitted and their reduction during LTO cycles, optimized flight path and with analysis by Dopelheuer. Pollutants appearing from incomplete and complete combustion processes have been discussed. Because of calculation difficulties, no assessment has been made for the soot, $H_2O$ and $PM_{2.5}$. In addition, because of the low reliability of models quantifying pollutant emissions of the APU, an empirical evaluation has been done. This is based on Benson's fuel flow method. A new model, giving FC and predicting the in-flight emissions, has been developed. It fits with the Boeing FC model. We confirm that FC can be reduced by 3% for takeoffs and 27% for landings. This contributes to analyze the intelligent fuel gauge computing the in-flight fuel flow. Further research is needed to define the role of $NO_x$ which is emitted during the combustion process derived from the ambient air, not the fuel. Models are needed for analyzing the effects of fleet composition and engine combinations on emission factors and fuel flow assessment.

산림바이오매스 활용을 위한 데이터베이스 및 시스템 설계 (Design of Database and System for Application of Forest Biomass)

  • 지구온난화로 인하여 세계 선진국을 중심으로 온실가스를 감축하기 위한 국제협약을 체결해 왔으며, 우리나라도 2013부터 의무대상국 지정이 유력해짐에 따라 이산화탄소 배출량 감축을 위한 다양한 사업 및 연구가 진행되고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 산림바이오매스 량과 이산화탄소 량을 관리하기 위하여 이중화된 객체형 공간정보를 관리하던 방식에서 벗어나 단일화된 격자형 공간객체를 기반으로 다양한 정보를 관리 할 수 있는 데이터베이스 제작함으로서 다양한 속성에 따른 주제도를 제작할 수 있는 방안을 마련하였다. 또한 LiDAR자료와 KOMPSAT-2 위성영상을 활용한 산림바이오매스 최적의 산정방법을 이용하여 산림바이오매스를 제작할 수 있는 시스템을 설계하였으며, 다양한 기관에서 산림바이오매스를 등록하고 활용할 수 있는 산림바이오매스 모니터링 시스템을 설계함으로서 산림바이오매스의 추출, 관리, 활용이 가능한 실질적 방안을 제시할 수 있었다.

우리나라 고독성물질 사용저감 규제의 수정 편익-비용분석 (A Revised Benefit-Cost Analysis of the Korean TUR Program)

  • 청정사회 구축을 위한 독성물질사용 저감규제의 타당성은 사회적 경제성 기준으로 평가되어야 한다. 가장 보편적인 방법론은 편익-비용분석이다. 편익-비용분석은 규제 프로그램 운영에 따른 모든 편익과 비용 항목들을 화폐적 가치로 산정하여 이를 단순 비교하여 평가한다. 그러나 타당성 평가는 경제적 기준뿐만 아니라 정책적 기준도 반영되는 것이 합리적이므로, 항목들에 기준 가중치를 반영하여야 한다. 본 연구는 이를 위한 평가방법론을 개발하고 이를 2020년도부터 시행되는 우리나라 고독성 물질 사용 저감규제 프로그램에 적용하였으며, 연구결과 고독성 물질의 배출 저감규제의 타당성 평가를 위해서는 기존의 경제적 기준뿐만 아니라 정책적 기준도 적용하는 수정 편익-비용분석 기법이 합리적인 대안이 될 수 있음을 발견되었다.

공기청정기 CA 규격성능시험 결과 분석 및 가스시험 변별력 향상 방안연구 (Analysis of CA Certification Performance Test Results and Improvement of CA Test Method for a Better Differentiation of Gas Removal Performances for Room Air Cleaners)

  • In this study, we organized the test results obtained from the performance tests for the CA certificated air cleaners which had been commercially available in Korea since 2003, and analyzed the correlation among the test parameters such as flow rate, particle collection efficiency, clean air delivery rate (CADR), ozone emission, odor removal efficiency and noise level etc. The noise level of 267 air cleaners were increased as concentrated at the 45, 50, 55 dB, which are the required noise level for CA certification according to flow rate, and ozone emissions from the CA air cleaners were significantly lower than the requirement limit, 50 ppb for 24 hour operation. The average particle collection efficiency and odor removal efficiency were 89.3 and 80.8%, approximately 20% higher than the requirement of CA certification, regardless of flow rates. The particle removal performance of an air cleaner was clearly discriminated by its CADR, and the CADR was obtained with a simple calculation: 0.79 x flow rate. The low differentiation of gas removal performance of air cleaners by the current CA gas test method was improved by 3.2, 751.3, 13.4 times for ammonia, acetic acid, respectively, by adopting the CADR concept and the real time measurement method, FTIR, for gas removal performance test.

A comparative evaluation of $CO_2$ and erbium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet laser therapy in the management of dentin hypersensitivity and assessment of mineral content

  • Purpose: Dentin hypersensitivity is a potential threat to oral health. Laser irradiation may provide reliable and reproducible treatment but remains controversial. The present study aimed to evaluate the effects of $CO_2$ or erbium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet (Er:YAG) laser therapy, and to assess mineral content. Methods: Eighteen human single-rooted teeth affected with advanced periodontitis were obtained. Buccal and lingual surfaces were planed to form 36 specimens. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid gel (24%) was applied to remove the smear layer and simulate hypersensitive teeth. The experimental groups were: group 1, control (no irradiation); group 2, $CO_2$ laser (repetitive pulsed mode, 2 W, $2.7J/cm^2$); and group 3, Er:YAG laser (slight contact mode, 40 mJ/pulse and 10 Hz). To evaluate dentinal tubule occlusion, six specimens per group (2-mm thickness) were prepared and observed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for calculation of the occlusion percentage. To evaluate the mineral content, six specimens per group (0.6-mm thickness) were used, and then the levels of Ca, K, Mg, Na, and P were measured by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. In addition, the surface temperature of the specimens during laser irradiation was analyzed by a thermograph. Results: The SEM photomicrographs indicated melted areas around exposed dentinal tubules and a significantly greater percentage of tubular occlusion in the $CO_2$ and Er:YAG laser groups than the control, and in the Er:YAG group than the $CO_2$ laser group. In addition, no significant differences were noted among the experimental groups for the mineral elements analyzed. The $CO_2$ laser group showed an evident thermal effect compared to the Er:YAG group. Conclusions: $CO_2$ and Er:YAG laser are effective in treating dentin hypersensitivity and reducing its symptoms. However, the Er:YAG laser has a more significant effect; thus, it may constitute a useful conditioning item. Furthermore, neither $CO_2$ nor Er:YAG lasers affected the compositional structure of the mineral content.

주변고정 장방형 평판에 있어서 임의점 가진에 의한 고체전파음의 예측 (An estimate of structure-borne sound by the excitation at an arbitrary point on the rectangular plate with fixed edges)

  • Machinery enclosures are widely adopted to reduce the noise emission in various fields of application. Emitted noise, which is due to the vibration of enclosure's outer surface, is composed of two kinds of sound with different path of propagation. One is the "structure-borne sound", while the other is "air-borne sound". In order to get a most efficient machinery enclouser a prudent consideration upon the above structure-borne and air-borne sound is required, as the guiding principle of contermeasure for each noise is quite different. The controlling of input vibration and its isolation are major subjects for the structure-borne sound, and the specifications of absorbing members and damping panels are the major related matters for the air-borne sound. Hence, it seems very efficient to separate the total sounds into two categories with a great accuracy when one think of further reduction of noise from the existing enclosure, although its separating methods have not been made clear for many years. Author proposes an application method of experimental modal analysis to extract the structure-borne sound from the measured total radiation sound, as the air-borne sound is deduced by the vectorial difference between the measured total radiation sound and the calculated structure-borne sound. In order to calculate the correct structure-borne sound by the excitation at an arbitrary point on the enclosure structure, it is important to decide 1) how to estimate the enclosure's surface vibration velocity and 2) how to compute the radiation sound which is considered as the effect of vibration modes of enclosure surface. The former can be solved with total frequency response function calculated by the application of experimental modal analysis. The latter is to be solved by the author's new approaches for radiation sound computation by means of the Rayleigh's integral equation and the boundary-element method applied complex surface vibration velocity. As a first step, structure-borne sound by the excitation at an arbitry point on the rectangular plate with fixed edges, has been calculated to verified the reliability of the developed computation methods. The results of calculation show good agreements with those of the actual measurements.actual measurements.

Synchronization and identification of ship shaft power and speed for energy efficiency design index verification

  • The maritime sector is advancing with dedicated endeavor to reduce greenhouse gas in addressing issues with regards to global warming. Since 01 January 2013, the International Maritime Organization (IMO) regulation mandatory requirement for Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) has been in place and should be satisfied by newly-built ships of more than 400 gross tonnage and the Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) for all ships type. Therefore, compliance to this necessitates planning during the design stage whereas verification can be carried-out through an acceptable method during sea trial. The MEPC-approved 2013 guidance, ISO 15016 and ISO 19019 on EEDI serves the purpose for calculation and verification of attained EEDI value. Individual ships EEDI value should be lower than the required value set by these regulations. The key factors for EEDI verification are power and speed assessment and their synchronization. The shaft power can be measured by telemeter system using strain gage during sea trial. However, calibration of shaft power onboard condition is complicated. Hence, it relies only on proficient technology that operates within the permitted ISO allowance. On the other hand, the ship speed can be measured and calibrated by differential ground positioning system (DGPS). An actual test on a newly-built vessel was carried out to assess the correlation of power and speed. The Energy-efficiency Design Index or Operational Indicator Monitoring System (EDiMS) software developed by the Dynamics Laboratory-Mokpo Maritime University (DL-MMU) and Green Marine Equipment RIS Center (GMERC) of Mokpo Maritime University was utilized for this investigation. In addition, the software can continuously monitor air emission and is a useful tool for inventory and ship energy management plan. This paper introduces the synchronization and identification method between shaft power and ship speed for EEDI verification in accordance with the ISO guidance.
