  • We designed a low cost optical structure of transflective LCD that uses only a half number of retardation films compared to general active matrix transflective LCD. The prototype embodied by this design shows reasonable reflective and transmissive performance. This design would provide us thinner, lighter and cheaper product due to its reduced retardation film structure.

  • A person does communication between each other using language. But, In the case of disabled person, cannot communicate own idea to use writing and gesture. We embodied communication system using the EEG so that disabled person can do communication. After feature extraction of the EEG included facial muscle signals, it is converted the facial muscle into control signal, and then did so that can select character and communicate idea.

  • An algorithm was embodied to automatic pump operation Pattern for remote control located in 60 km far. This automation pattern included least cost operation, peak load time response, pump operation time balancing etc. It was programmed four kind of operation mode as following; normal operation nude, before peak load time nude, peak load time operation, after peak load time operation.

  • The explanation of Tourism Guide of present whole country main tourist resort helps to understand the tourist resort. Analysis regarding the Environmental Impact of the Life Cycle of Housing Complexes in Korea (국내 주거 단지에 대한 전과정 환경영향 분석)

  • This study on condominium complex will adopt the quantitative assessment of the influence on the environment throughout the entire life cycle of buildings. This paper applies input-out analysis in order to analyse embodied energy regarding input of materials at material production phase. Also, it calculates environment load at use and demolition and destruction Phases of buildings as analysing energy consumption. The study categorises environment load as six impact categories and undertakes environmental impact evaluation. The consequence shows that the environment load of multi-unit dwelling takes up 88.2% out of the entire environment load of condominium complex. Also, as a result of analyzing the environmental impact of the life cycle of condominium buildings, it was found that such environmental impact comprised of about 11.96% of all industries in Korea that had an environmental impact.

  • Interactive games allow users to obtain embodied experience using the bodies as controllers. The same is true in interactive media arts where users engage in active participation. In contrast to video games, physical body feedback is desired and such practice can be found in robotic arts. I suggest that interactive media arts and interactive games should share common foundations. In this context, I introduce and explain an interactive robotic art work implemented. This work is a musical instrument that employs a robot which travels sitting on two strings in response to audience positions. In results, the robot modulates the vibrations of the strings by causing the effective lengths of the strings changed. The robot uses an economic multi-cell proximity sensor in order to track the audience. In the interaction, phenomenological tension could take place in the performative narrative space. In this paper, I discuss this interactive robotic work in the context of interactive games with a few examples.

Home network test bed offers softness of research using control model and simulator, in this paper, Wish to design and embody home network test bed to do environment construction of home network and test of application service. Because use istent power line just as it is without necessity to establish circuit in addition by solution of home network testbed, expense costs to be less and establishment used easy PLC. Also, propriated Wireless sensor network that use Zigbee by solution of home network testbed. Appliance check and monitor square do by Home Auto that know embodied, and embodied by Home Gateway that interlink terminals of Home Auto and out of.

A Study on Design Features of 'Nendo' Furniture ('넨도' 가구의 디자인 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Nendo, which was established in Tokyo in 2002, is a design company established by Oki Sato, which is gaining reputation as a new design group representing Japan through numerous design tasks encompassing diverse design sectors, such as architecture, interior, furniture, graphic, and products. This study was conducted to investigate the formative features of Nendo furniture by reviewing 133 pieces of Nendo furniture designed for the last ten years and identify the general characteristics of Nendo furniture by reviewing the time of launch, product launch type, and furniture type. As a result, the design features of Nendo furniture are as follows: First, the shapes of basic materials including boards, lumber, and bars are maintained intact and Nendo furniture has simple and moderate design without complicated or decorative elements. Second, Nendo furniture has simply embodied a design characterized by simple transformation, minimization of furniture elements, and rearrangement. Third, Nendo presents new and simple furniture differentiated from other pieces of furniture using optical illusions. Such expressions of optical illusions which are hardly found in preexisting furniture are a major feature of Nendo furniture. Fourth, a majority of chairs of Nendo cause optical illusions with the minimized size. In addition, their top boards made of transparent glass and mirror cause optical illusions with the properties of materials. In short, design of Nendo furniture is characterized by formative expressions, expressions of optical illusions, and differentiated use of materials. Fifth, Nendo keeps launching new furniture items in various exhibitions. As a result, Nendo makes furniture with its own unique characteristics based on its diverse studies and experiments which are applied to furniture design in a realistic way. In summary, design of Nendo furniture is characterized by simply embodied design based on small differences in daily life, minimalism with simple and moderate shapes, and its own witty uniqueness based on formative expressions, expressions of optical illusions, and use of materials differentiated from other furniture brands.
