임베디드 환경에서의 H.235 기반 VoIP 보안 단말 구현 및 안전성 분석에 관한 연구 (An implementation and security analysis on H.235 for VoIP security on embedded environments)

  • 본 논문에서는 ITU-T에서 제안한 VoIP 표준인 H.323 시스템의 보안 프로토콜인 H.235에 대하여 연구하고 이를 임베디드 환경의 IP Phone에 구현하여 VoIP 보안 프로토콜의 구현 요구사항 및 구현 결과에 따른 분석을 실시하였다. 특히 annex D에서 제안하고 있는 VoIP 단말에서의 보안 기능을 분석하여 구현하였는데, annex D에서는 HMAC-SHAI-96을 이용하여 인중과 무결성을 제공하고 Diffie-Hellman을 이용해서 음성 데이터 암호화에 사용되는 세션 키를 암호화해서 전달하며 음성 데이터의 암호화를 위한 RC2, DES, 3DES 등을 지원하고 있다. 또한 annex D의 안전성 및 상호 연동 문제점을 분석하여 취약점을 발견하고 보안을 강화하는 개선 방안을 제시하였다.

  • The popularity of Smartphones makes new fields of applications based on location based service easily feasible with a new user interface called augmented reality (AR). It presents a particularly powerful user interface to context-aware computing environments. AR on Smartphones integrates virtual information into a person's physical environment by overlaying information on an image taken through Smartphone's camera and motion sensors. Mobile augmented reality systems provide this service without constraining the individual's whereabouts to a specially equipped area. This work presents an overview of handheld augmented reality focusing on applications with introducing the basic issues of them. For this purpose, an example system, Studierstube ES (embedded system), is cited, which introduces the most significant problems and various methods of solving them through the experience of converting existing PC-based AR system into handheld AR.

  • This paper presents the development of a compact position generator to be used for industrial purposes based on a pump controlled Electro-Hydraulic Actuator (EHA), which is closed-loop controlled by an embedded based Iterative PID controller. The controller is designed by combining the PID controller and the iterative learning scheme to perform tracking control for periodically desired references. Control algorithm is implemented on an embedded computer (AD 7011-EVA) which makes the implementation and application in industrial environments easier.

  • In this paper, we propose a multimodal biometric embedded system. It is designed to support face, iris, fingerprint and vascular pattern recognition. We use a S3C2440A based on ARM926T core processor that is made in Samsung. The system has support various external device interfaces for multi biometric sensors, and RFID/Smart Card reader/writer. Additionally, it has a 6" LCD panel and numeric keypad for easy GUI. The embedded system offers useful environments to develop better biometric algorithms for stand alone biometric system and accelerator hardware modules for real time operation.

Hand-crafted 특징 및 머신 러닝 기반의 은하 이미지 분류 기법 개발 (Development of Galaxy Image Classification Based on Hand-crafted Features and Machine Learning)

  • In this paper, we develop a galaxy image classification method based on hand-crafted features and machine learning techniques. Additionally, we provide an empirical analysis to reveal which combination of the techniques is effective for galaxy image classification. To achieve this, we developed a framework which consists of four modules such as preprocessing, feature extraction, feature post-processing, and classification. Finally, we found that the best technique for galaxy image classification is a method to use a median filter, ORB vector features and a voting classifier based on RBF SVM, random forest and logistic regression. The final method is efficient so we believe that it is applicable to embedded environments.

임베디드 자료동기화 게이트웨이를 위한 OMA DS 표준 SCTS 적합성 테스트 (SCTS Conformance Test for OMA DS Standard for an Embedded Data Synchronization Gateway)

  • Nowadays, people perform their tasks anywhere anytime using their mobile devices. For this reason, data synchronization (DS) between mobile devices and a central server has become one of the most essential technologies in mobile environments. Currently, several mobile DS protocols are proposed and used. However, the existing DS protocols cannot guarantee interoperability between them. To solve the problem, an embedded DS gateway has been developed in our previous study. The gateway runs on a Windows Mobile-based emulator. It converts data on a mobile device into common data specified by OMA DS standard protocol and vice versa. The embedded gateway has been built to support the OMA DS standard protocol. In order to verify that the embedded gateway conforms to the OMA DS standard protocol, two kinds of OMA conformance tests have to be conducted - interoperability test with an OMA DS-based server and conformance test with SCTS (SyncML Conformance Test Suit). In this paper, some parts of the gateway previously built are modified and the modified gateway is installed on a Windows Mobile-based smart phone. And the interoperability test and the conformance test with the SCTS are conducted. The results of the tests show that the embedded DS gateway operates properly on the Windows Mobile-based smart phone and that the gateway passes the tests, verifying its conformity to the OMA DS standard protocol. In addition, DS performance tests show that DS delay times between a real smart phone and a DS server increase gently as the number of DS data increases. In other words, the embedded DS gateway built in this paper can be used for a real smart phone at a reasonable performance cost.

측정 데이터 기반 전기-유압 서보 실린더의 미지 변수 추정 (Unknown-Parameter Estimation of Electric-Hydraulic Servo Cylinder Based on Measurements)

  • Electric-hydraulic sever cylinders are used in many offshore applications such as wind energy farms, solar farms and plants. Jack-up barges are often used for these offshore system operations. Jack-up barge control is up/down by hydraulic cylinder position control. Working in harsh environments can lead to changes in internal parameters. This nonlinearity makes precise control difficult. In order to overcome the problems, we proposed a method of unknown-parameter estimation algorithm based on measurements obtained by system. In this paper, we employee Unscented Kalman filter (UKF) to estimate states and unknown-parameter from augmented nonlinear equation. Performance of estimation results is verified in simulation on an environments of Matlab. The estimation results of the state and unknown-parameter show that the estimation error of unknown-parameter is reduced according to decreasing the state estimation error.

시변 자기 환경에 강한 자기왜곡 모델 내장형 헤딩 추정 필터 (Magnetic Disturbance Model-Embedded Heading Estimation Filter for Time-Varying Magnetic Environments)

  • With regards to heading estimation using gyroscope and magnetometer signals, magnetic disturbance added in the magnetometer signals is a main degradation factor in the estimation accuracy. Although there are a number of existing mechanisms that may properly compensate for the magnetic disturbances, they are designed to react only to the magnetic disturbances, but not to the time derivative of disturbances. Note that the sensors may experience abrupt changes in the magnetic disturbances, particularly for ambulatory applications. This paper proposes a magnetic disturbance model-embedded heading estimation filter for time-varying magnetic environments. The proposed magnetic disturbance model is based on a first-order Markov chain with a conditional switching technique depending on the time derivative of disturbances. Once a high amount of derivative is detected, the corrupted magnetometer signals are discarded to protect the filter from them. In our experimental results, the averaged heading error of tests was $1.46^{\circ}$, while that of the original approach without switching was $5.75^{\circ}$.

다수의 초음파 송수신기를 이용한 이동 로봇의 정밀 실내 위치인식 시스템의 개발 (Development of Precise Localization System for Autonomous Mobile Robots using Multiple Ultrasonic Transmitters and Receivers in Indoor Environments)

  • A precise embedded ultrasonic localization system is developed for autonomous mobile robots in indoor environments, which is essential for autonomous navigation of mobile robots with various tasks. Although ultrasonic sensors are more cost-effective than other sensors such as LRF (Laser Range Finder) and vision, they suffer inaccuracy and directional ambiguity. First, we apply the matched filter to measure the distance precisely. For resolving the computational complexity of the matched filter for embedded systems, we propose a new matched filter algorithm with fast computation in three points of view. Second, we propose an accurate ultrasonic localization system which consists of three ultrasonic receivers on the mobile robot and two or more transmitters on the ceiling. Last, we add an extended Kalman filter to estimate position and orientation. Various simulations and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed system.

Receiver Protection from Electrical Shock in Vehicle Wireless Charging Environments

  • This paper deals with the electrical shock that can occur in a car wireless charging system. The recently released the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) standard specifies that the receiver must be protected from the radio power generated by the transmitter and presents two scenarios in which the receiver may be subjected to electrical shock due to the wireless power generated by the transmitter. The WPC also provides a hardware approach for blocking the wireless power generated by the transmitter to protect the receiver in each situation. In addition, it presents the hardware constraints that must be applied to the transmitter and the parameters that must be constrained by the software. In this paper, we analyze the results of the electric shock in the vehicle using the WPC certified transmitter and receiver in the scenarios presented by WPC. As a result, we found that all the scenarios had electrical shocks on the receiver, which could have a significant impact on the receiver circuitry. Therefore, we propose wireless power transfer limit (WPTL) algorithm to protect receiver circuitry in various vehicle charging environments.
