To quantitatively investigate the effects of manure compost on the soil and water environment including ground water the elution patterns of anions and hydraulic conductivity wore estimated with four different depth(15, 30, 45 60cm) and four variable ratio of compost treatment(0, 2, 4, 6%) through soil column test. 1. There were over 95% of elution of chloride and nitrate within 0.1 pore volume(PV), and sulfate within 0.2 PV. With 2 ton/10a of cow manure compost treatment recommended total 40 kg/10a of anions added was recovered as effluent at the amount of 17kg chloride, 5.4kg nitrate, and 13.2kg sulfate, respectively However, phosphate rarely recovered in the effluent due to the strong affinity for sorption sites in soils. 2. In multi-layered soil column the maximum peaks of each anion eluted were retardated with increasing soil depth and the amount of organic matter(OM) treatment. 3. With increasing OM up to 2% the saturated hydraulic conductivity(SHC) was greatly decreased, but the slight decrease in SHC was found by addition of OM greater than 4%. In multi-layered soil column SHC was more effected by the lower SHV layer than by that of the higher.
This study was performed to investigate the removal characteristics of phosphate by adsorption on olivine, which is generated as industrial by-products from quarry. The adsorption of phosphate on olivine was significantly achieved within 1 hour and equilibrated after 3 hours. The adsorption capacity of phosphate was enhanced with decreasing pH. The maximum adsorption capacity was observed to be 0.463 mg/g in the condition of pH 3. The $Ca^{2+}$ and $Mg^{2+}$ ion amount per adsorbent eluted from olivine was increased with decreasing pH. The precipitation test showed that phosphate in aqueous phase under the condition of pH 3 ~ 9 could be eliminated largely by adsorption on olivine, not precipitation. Freundlich adsorption model were successfully applied to describe the adsorption behavior of phosphate on olivine. The $q_m$ of Langmuir adsorption model were 1.3369 mg/g, 1.0544 mg/g, 1.0288 mg/g at pH 3, 6 and 9, respectively. The $K_F$ of Freundlich adsorption model were 0.4247 mg/g, 0.3399 mg/g, 0.2942 mg/g at pH 3, 6 and 9, respectively. The olivine showed high feasibility as a adsorbent for the removal of $PO_4$-P.

This study aimed to elucidate causes of corrosion of heat transport pipes and air vents installed under a manhole of heat transport facilities and suggest effective anticorrosive measures by applying paints or adhesive tapes. It was found that air vent corrosion was attributed to corrosion under insulation caused by the inflow of water and the enrichment of chloride ions. The infiltrated water caused a hydrolysis of polyurethane foam (PUF) insulation by concentrating chloride ions at the interface between a pipe and the PUF. As insulator deteriorated, more chloride ions were eluted as confirmed by ion chromatograph (IC) analysis. As an effective method to prevent air vent corrosion, different types of paints and adhesive tapes with higher corrosion resistance on chloride ions were applied and environmental resistance tests were performed with those samples. Based on environmental test results of samples exposed to 10% HCl solution, it was revealed that a wax tape was the most adequate from a viewpoint of stability at operating condition, environmental resistance, surface treatment, and field applicability.
The study was investigated hot-water soluble on waxy black and waxy rice flours according to gelatinization temperatures and heating time. The hot-water soluble contents of both samples were increased during heating time at $90^{\circ}C$. The waxy black and waxy rice flours solutions according to gelatinization temperatures ($80^{\circ}C,\;90^{\circ}C,\;95^{\circ}C\;and\;98^{\circ}C$) were heated for 10, 20 and 30 min. Determination of elution patterns of rice flours was used by Sepharose CL-2B column. As a result, the elution patterns were eluted the most in void volume ($V_0$) and the elution patterns of the hot-water solubles were increased according to heating time and gelatinization temperatures.
Liquid chromatographic behavior of several metal ions in dithiocarbamate(DTC) chelates were investigated by reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography on Novapak $C_{18}$ and ${\mu}$-Bondapak $C_{18}$ columns. The optimum conditions for the separation of DTC-metal chelate were examined with respect to the pH, shaking time, flow rate, extraction solvent, and mobile phase strength. The metal ions in mixtures at trace level, chelated with some dithiocarbamate derivatives were separated successfully on Novapak $C_{18}$ column using acetonitrile/methanol/water or acetonitril/water mixtures as mobile phases. It was found that all DTC metal chelates studied were eluted in an acceptable range of capacity factor values ($0{\leqq}log\;k'{\leqq}1$). Although several foreign metal ions were coexisted, high recovery and good precision were attained ; 97.0-106.7 % for the recovery and 0.98-3.41% for the coefficient of variation. Under the optimum analytical conditions, trace metal ions in the composite water samples were determined sucessfully with in relative error of about {\pm}$6.7 %.

The purpose of this study was to determine the optimum extraction method suitable for the availability of biological activities in unripe apples known to be rich in functional components. Unripe apples 'Hongro' picked on May 28th, 2019 were extracted by various extraction methods (hot water, ethanol, enzymatic pre-treatment, ultrasonic wave, and subcritical water) and their extracts were investigated yield, effective component contents, and antioxidant activities. Overall, the yields by the extraction solvent were higher in water than in organic solvent(ethanol) because water-soluble compounds were eluted from a polar solvent. Total phenol contents of the ultrasonic wave (ethanol) extracts were significantly higher in 6 times than hot water extract. Contents of flavonoid were highest in the ethanol extract at 29.14 mg QE/g. Contents of tannin and ursolic acid were also significantly higher in the ultrasonic wave (ethanol) extract. The DPPH radical and ABTS radical scavenging activities were the strongest in the ultrasonic wave (ethanol) extract. Correlation between effective components and antioxidant activities was high in the total phenol content with ABTS and the ursolic acid content with DPPH (p<0.01). The above results suggested that ultrasonic wave (ethanol) extract of unripe apples has the potential to act as a functional material.
A new ionic liquid functionalized magnetic silica nanoparticle was synthesized and characterized and tested as an adsorbent. The adsorbent was used for magnetic solid phase extraction on ICP-MS method. Simultaneous determination of precious metal Au has been addressed. The method is simple and fast and has been applied to standard water and surface water analysis. A new method for separation/analysis of trace precious metal Au by Magnetron Solid Phase Extraction (MSPE) combined with ICP-MS. The element to be tested is rapidly adsorbed on CoFe2O4@SiO2@[BMIM]PF6 composite nano-adsorbent and eluted with thiourea. The method has a preconcentration factor of 9.5-fold. This method has been successfully applied to the determination of gold in actual water samples. Hydrophobic Ionic Liquids (ILs) 1-butyl-3-methylimidazole hexafluorophosphate ([BMIM]PF6) coated CoFe2O4@SiO2 nanoparticles with core-shell structure to prepare magnetic solid phase extraction agent (CoFe2O4@SiO2@ILs) and establish a new method of MSPE coupled with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry for separation/analysis of trace gold. The results showed that trace gold was adsorbed rapidly by CoFe2O4@SiO2@[BMIM]PF6 and eluanted by thiourea. Under the optimal conditions, preconcentration factor of the proposed method was 9.5-fold. The linear range, detection limit, correlation coefficient (R) and relative standard deviation (RSD) were found to be 0.01~1000.00 ng·mL-1, 0.001 ng·mL-1, 0.9990 and 3.4% (n = 11, c = 4.5 ng·mL-1). The CoFe2O4@SiO2 nanoparticles could be used repeatedly for 8 times. This proposed method has been successfully applied to the determination of trace gold in water samples.
For the elucidation of substrate specificity to the brown copra meal by Bacillus sp. ${\beta}-mannanase.$, the enzymatic hydrolysate after 24 hr of reaction was heated in a boiling water bath for 10 min, and then centrifuged to remove the insoluble materials from hydrolysates. The major hydrolysates composed of D.P 5 and 7 galactosyl mannooligosaccharides. For the separate of galactosyl mannooligosaccharides, the supernatant solution of 150 ml was put on a first activated carbon column. The column was then washed with 5 l of water to remove mannose and salts. The oligosaccharides in the column were eluted by a liner gradient of $0{\sim}30%$ ethanol, at the flow rate of 250 ml per hour. The sugar composition in each fraction tubes was examined by TLC and FACE analysis. The combined fraction from F3 was concentrated to 30 ml by vacuum evaporator. Then put on a second activated carbon column. The oligosaccharides in the column were eluted by a liner gradient of $0{\sim}30%$ ethanol (total volume: 5 l), at the flow rate of 250 ml per hour. The eluent was collected in 8 ml fraction tubes, and the total sugar concentration was measured by method of phenol-sulfuric acid. The major component of F2 separated by 2nd activated carbon column chromatography were identified $Gal^3Man_4(6^3-mono-{\alpha}-D-galactopyranosyl-{\beta}-mannotetraose)$. To investigate the effects of brown copra meal galactomannooligosaccharides on growth of Bifidobacterium longum, B. bifidum were cultivated individually on the modified-MRS medium containing carbon source such as $Gal^3Man_4$, compared to those of standard MRS medium.

Recently, it has been reported that Bacillus mojavensis possesses antifungal properties and plant growth-promoting activities, which are similar to the characteristics of siderophore. In this study, the siderophore produced by B. mojavensis was assessed using a solid phase extraction (SPE) cartridge and liquid chromatography quadrupole time-of-flight tandem mass spectrometry (Q-TOF MS/MS). After B. mojavensis was incubated in phenol medium for 16 hr and lyophilized, the sample was dissolved in water and loaded to an SPE cartridge to remove interferences. The cartridge was washed with 5% methanol in water and eluted with 2% formic acid in methanol sequentially. The eluted solution was evaporated under a stream of nitrogen gas and reconstituted in methanol. The reconstituted sample was filtered, and $1{\mu}l$ of the sample was assessed using Q-TOF MS/MS. The mass spectrometer was operated using the positive electrospray ionization mode. Based on the mass spectrum and tandem mass spectrum, the siderophore produced by B. mojavensis was bacillibactin, one of the catechol types of siderophore with a molecular weight of 882.2556. This siderophore analysis could provide a justification for the study of B. mojavensis as a functional food and for pharmaceutical applications.
Liquid chromatographic behavior of Pd(II), Ni(II) and Co(III) in N-Alkylisonitrosoacetylacetone imine(HIAA-NR) chelates was investigated by reversed phase high perfomance liquid chromatography. The optimum conditions for the separation of IAA-NR-metal chelates were examined respect to the flow rate and mobile phase strength. The metal-N-Alkylisonitrosoacetylacetone imine chelates in solution were successfully separated on Novapak $C_{18}$ column using acetonitrile/water mixture as mobile phase. The elution order of chelates is methyl>ethyl>propyl>butyl as N-alkyl group for ligand is varied. It was found that all IAA-NR-metal chelates were eluted in an acceptable range of capacity factor value($0{\leq}log\;k^{\prime}{\leq}1$). The dependence of log k' on the volume fraction of water in the binary mobile phase was examined. Also, the dependence of k' on the liquid-liquid extraction distribution ratio(Dc) in acetonitrile-water-alkane extraction system was investigated for IAA-NR-metal chelate. Both kinds of dependence are linear, which suggests that the retention of the electroneutral metal chelates on Novapak $C_{18}$ column is largely due to the hydrophobic effect.
