등방압밀점토에서 항복경계면 소성모델의 매개변수 (The Parameters of the Bounding Surface Plasticity Model in the Isotropically Consolidated Clay)

  • 흙의 응력-변형률 거동을 더욱 근사적으로 예측하기 위하여,소성 증분이론에 한계상태 토질역학의 개념을 도입한 것이 항복-경계면 소성 모델이다. 이 모텔은 등방 압밀 흙의 거동을 묘사하기 위하여 두개의 타원과 하나의 쌍곡선으로 구성되었다. 따라서 사용된 여러가지 매개변수로 인하여 이 모델은 매우 복잡하다. 그러므로,실제 지반 문제에 이 모델을 적용하기 위하여는 이론의 정확한 이해와 숙련이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는,이 모델에 사용된 여러 매개변수들 중항복-경계면 형상 매개변수 R과 A, 투영 중심 매개변수 C를 변화시켜 그 결과를 수치해석하였다. 최종적으로 단조하중과 주기하중에 대한 각각의 민감도를 분석하였고 각 매개변수 값의 범위를 제안하였다.

Theoretical explanation of rock splitting based on the micromechanical method

  • In this paper, in order to explain the splitting of cylindrical rock specimen under uniaxial loading, cracks in cylindrical rock specimen are divided into two kinds, the longitudinal crack and the slanting crack. Mechanical behavior of the rock is described by elastic-brittle-plastic model and splitting is assumed to suddenly occur when the uniaxial compressive strength is reached. Expression of the stresses induced by the longitudinal crack in direction perpendicular to the major axis of the crack is deduced by using the Maxwell model. Results show that the induced stress is tensile and can be greater than the tensile strength even before the uniaxial compressive strength is reached. By using the Inglis's formula and simplifying the cracks as slender ellipse, the above conclusions that drawn by using the Maxwell model are confirmed. Compared to shearing fracture, energy consumption of splitting seems to be less, and splitting is most likely to occur when the uniaxial loading is great and quick. Besides, explaining the rock core disking occurred under the fast axial unloading by using the Maxwell model may be helpful for understanding that rock core disking is fundamentally a tensile failure phenomenon.

  • RP(Rapid Prototyping) has been used in the various industrial applications. This paper presents the optimization techniques fur fabricated 3D model design using RP machine for the medical field. Once the original brain model data are obtained from 2D slices of MRI/CT machine, the data can be modeled as an optimal ellipse. The objective of this study includes optimization of fabrication time and surface roughness using the adaptive slicing method. It can reduce fabrication time without losing surface roughness quality by accumulating the slices with variable thickness. According to the parameter tuning and synthesis of its effect, more suitable parameter values can be obtained by enhanced 3D brain model fabrication. Therefore, accurate 3D brain model fabricated by RP machine can enable a surgeon to perform pre-operation. to make a decision for the operation sequence and to perceive the 3D positions in prototype, before delicate operation of actual surgery.

수치해석기반의 동적 p-y 곡선 산정 (Evaluation of Dynamic p-y Curve Based on the Numerical Analysis)

  • 3차원 유한요소 프로그램(PLAXIS 3D)를 이용한 수치해석을 통하여 동적표면하중 하에서지반-말뚝 구조물의 상호작용을 평가하였다. 수치해석에 의한 진동대 실험 형태의 하중조건 및 지반시스템에 대한 동적 p-y곡선을 산정하고 이를 통하여 말뚝-지반의 조건, 말뚝의 선단부 조건, 재하조건 등을 고려하여 매개변수 연구를 하였다. 그 결과 주파수 1.4Hz 입력 진동수가 모형 말뚝-지반 시스템의 고유진동수 1.4Hz와 거의 일치하여 공진 현상이 발생하여서 다른 진동수의 결과와 비교시 다른 p, y 값을 보이고 있다. P-y 곡선에서 이를 대표할 수 있는 경향선을 나타내는 3차 다항함수로 표현하여 결과를 정리하였다. 특히 단독 말뚝의 경우 지배적인 곡선의 형태가 수학적인 증명을 통해 타원(ellipse)임을 밝혀냈다. P-y곡선의형태가 타원인 경우는 타원 방정식을 직접 지반-구조물의 동적설계나 해석에 이용하는 것이 바람직하다고 판단된다.

두 개의 공면점을 활용한 타원물체의 3차원 위치 및 자세 추정 (3-D Pose Estimation of an Elliptic Object Using Two Coplanar Points)

  • 본 논문은 3차원 공간상에 존재하는 타원형 물체의 위치 및 자세 추정 기법을 다룬다. 영상에 투영된 타원특징을 해석하여 원래의 타원에 대한 3차원 자세정보를 구하는 것은 어려운 문제이다. 본 논문은 타원특징의 3차원 정보를 추출하기 위하여, 두개의 공면점을 도입한 위치 및 자세 추정 알고리즘을 제안한다. 제안된 방법은 모델과 영상좌표계에서 각각 정의되는 타원-공면점에 대한 대응쌍이 주어질 때 두 좌표계에 대한 동차변환행렬의 유일해를 결정한다. 타원-공면점은 폴라리티를 기반으로 원근변환에 불변하는 한 쌍의 삼각특징으로 변환되며, 삼각특징들로부터 평면 호모그래피가 추정된다. 카메라 좌표계에 대한 물체 좌표계의 3차원 위치 및 자세 파라미터들은 호모그래피 분해를 통해 계산된다. 제안된 방법은 3차원 자세 및 위치 추정 오차의 분석과 공면점의 위치에 따른 민감도의 분석을 통해 평가된다.

  • Previous dynamic models of hysteresis motor use an extended induction machine equivalent circuit or somewhat different equivalent circuit with conventional one, which makes unsatisfiable results. In this paper, the hysteresis dynamic characteristics of the motor rotor are analyzed using the inverse Preisach model and the hysteresis motor equivalent circuit considering eddy current effect. The hysteresis loop for the rotor ring is analyzed under full-load voltage source static state. The calculated hysteresis loop is then approximated to an ellipse for simplicity of dynamic computation. The permeability and delay angle of the elliptic loop apply to the dynamic analysis model. As a result, it is possible to dynamically analyze the hysteresis motor according to the applied voltage and the rotor material. With this method, the motor speed, generated torque, load angle, rotor current as well as synchronous entry time, hunting effect can be calculated.

  • The analysis model is the power law creep material containing an elliptical rigid inclusion subjected to the arbitrarily directional stress on infinite boudary. The stress analysis is performed using the conformal mapping function and complex pseudo-stress function. The stress distributions near an elliptical rigid inclusion are obtained with various ellipse shapes, strain hardening exponents and directions of applied stress.

  • For visual navigation, mobile robot can use a stereo camera which has large field of view. In this paper, we propose an algorithm to detect and recognize human face on the basis of such camera system. In this paper, a new coarse to fine detection algorithm is proposed. For coarse detection, nearly face-like areas are found in entire image using dual ellipse templates. And, detailed alignment of facial outline and features is performed on the basis of view- based multiple appearance model.   • This paper deals with a parametric study on inclined elliptical dimples to enhance heat transfer in a channel. Three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Naiver-Stokes equations are solved to estimate flow and heat transfer in dimpled channel. As turbulence closure, the low-Re shear stress transport model is employed. Two non-dimensional geometric variables, dimple ellipse diameter ratio and angle of main diameter to flow direction are selected for the parametric study. The inclined elliptical dimples show higher heat-transfer performance but with higher pressure drop compared to the circular dimples. And there is an optimum inclination angle that gives the maximum heat transfer.

Study of the effect of varying shapes of holes in energy absorption characteristics on aluminium circular windowed tubes under quasi-static loading

  • In this paper, energy absorption characteristics of circular windowed tubes with different section shapes (circular, ellipse, square, hexagon, polygon and pentagon) are investigated numerically and experimentally. The tube possesses the same material, thickness, height, volume and average cross sectional area which are subjected under axial and oblique quasi-static loading conditions. Numerical model was constructed with FE code ABAQUS/Explicit, the obtained outcome of simulation is in good matching with the experimental data. The energy absorbed, specific energy absorption, crash force efficiency, peak and mean loads along with the collapse modes with their initiation point of simple and windowed tubes were evaluated. The technique for order of preference by similarity ideal solution (TOPSIS) approach was employed for assessing their overall crushing performances. The obtained results confirm that efficacy of crash force indicators have improved by introducing windows and tubes with pentagonal and circular windows achieves the maximum ranking about 0.528 and 0.517, it clearly reveals the above are best window shapes.
