In this paper, we suggest three-dimensional information extraction map system using integral imaging technique. Integral imaging can record multiple elemental images with different perspectives using a 2D image acquisition device with lenslet array. Using these images, integral imaging can obtain 3D information and display 3D image. In this paper, the position difference between elemental images can be obtained using summation of absolute difference (SAD), and then 3D information can be extracted. Therefore, this technique can find the height information of 3D objects.

In this study, we propose a three-dimensional (3D) visualization technique of occluded objects using integral imaging with a plenoptic camera. In previous studies, depth map estimation from elemental images was used to remove occlusion. However, the resolution of these depth maps is low. Thus, the occlusion removal accuracy is not efficient. Therefore, we use a plenoptic camera to obtain a high-resolution depth map. Hence, individual depth map for each elemental image can also be generated. Finally, we can regenerate a more accurate depth map for 3D objects with these separate depth maps, allowing us to remove the occlusion layers more efficiently. We perform optical experiments to prove our proposed technique. Moreover, we use MSE and PSNR as a performance metric to evaluate the quality of the reconstructed image. In conclusion, we enhance the visual quality of the reconstructed image after removing the occlusion layers using the plenoptic camera.

Synthetic aperture integral imaging is one of promising 3D imaging techniques to capture the high-resolution elemental images using multiple cameras. In this paper, we propose a method of displaying 3D images in space using the synthetic aperture integral imaging technique. Since the elemental images captured from SAII cannot be directly used to display 3D images in an integral imaging display system, we first extract the depth map from elemental images and then transform them to novel elemental images for 3D image display. The newly generated elemental images are displayed on a display panel to generate 3D images in space. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, we carry out the preliminary experiments using a 3D toy object and present the experimental results.
In this paper, we propose a 3D display method combining a pickup process using axially recorded multiple images and an integral imaging display process. First, we extract the color and depth information of 3D objects for displaying 3D images from axially recorded multiple 2D images. Next, using the extracted depth map and color images, elemental images are computationally synthesized based on a ray mapping model between 3D space and an elemental image plane. Finally, we display 3D images optically by an integral imaging system with a lenslet array. To show the usefulness of the proposed system, we carry out optical experiments for 3D objects and present the experimental results.

Many of the complex materials developed today derive their unique properties from the presence of multiple phases or from local variations in elemental concentration. Simply performing analysis of the bulk materials is not sufficient to achieve a true understanding of their physical and chemical natures. Secondary ion mass spectrometer (SIMS) has met with a great deal of success in material characterization. The basis of SIMS is the use of a focused ion beam to erode sample atoms from the selected region. The atoms undergo a charge exchange with their local environment, resulting in their conversion to positive and negative secondary ions. The mass spectrometric analysis of these secondary ions is a robust method capable of identifying elemental distribution from hydrogen to uranium with detectability of the parts per million (ppm) or parts per billion (ppb) in atomic range. Nano secondary ion mass spectrometer (Nano SIMS, Cameca Nano-SIMS 50) equipped with the reactive ion such as a cesium gun and duoplasmatron gun has a spatial resolution of 50 nm which is much smaller than other SIMS. Therefore, Nano SIMS is a very valuable tool to map the spatial distribution of elements on the surface of various materials In this talk, the surface imaging applications of Nano SIMS in KBSI will be presented.

In this paper, we present a novel integral imaging pickup method. We extract each pixel's actual depth data from a real object's surface using a depth camera, then generate elemental images based on the depth map. Since the proposed method generates elemental images without a lens array, it has simplified the pickup process and overcome some disadvantages caused by a conventional optical pickup process using a lens array. As a result, we can display a three-dimensional (3D) image in integral imaging. To show the usefulness of the proposed method, an experiment is presented. Though the pickup process has been simplified in the proposed method, the experimental results reveal that it can also display a full motion parallax image the same as the image reconstructed by the conventional method. In addition, if we improve calculation speed, it will be useful in a real-time integral imaging display system.

Cutting forces in ball-end milling of slanted surfaces are calculated. The cutting area is determined from the Z-map of the surface geometry and current cutter location. The obtained cutting area is projected onto the cutter plane normal to the Z-axis and compared with cutting edge element location. Cutting force is calculated by integration of elemental cutting forces of engaged cutting edge elements. Experiments with various slanted angles were performed to verify the proposed cutting force estimation model. It is shown that the proposed method predicts cutting force effectively for any geometry including sculptured surfaces with cusp marks and surfaces with pockets and holes.

Genshin Impact is an open-world action role-playing game launched by miHoYo in 2020 and has been released on multiple platforms. Due to the excellent character design, it has received widespread attention once it was released, and it has been ranked in the top 10 best-selling lists in several countries after a few weeks of launch. This article will first analyze the map design of the game's open world, and what elements are used on the game map to allow players to immerse themselves in it. Then, in the gameplay of the game, a rich and varied combat system is formed by using the relationship between the elements to restrain each other. There is also a card drawing system added to it, which makes the acquisition of characters full of randomness and allows more players to participate in it. It is concluded that the novel design and rich and varied play methods have made the game Genshin Impact high in popularity, occupying the forefront of the app download list for a long time.
The three methods of analysis (i) REV(representative elemental volume), (ii) non-REV and (iii) joint network analysis are introduced in this paper to analyze the groundwater flow in jointed rock mass and the inflow into underground excavations. The results from those methods are compared one another to reveal their characteristics by varying the number of joints and the diameter of the opening. The pre-processor, the so-called sequential analysis, is introduced to predict the equivalent hydraulic conductivity of a jointed rock mass having a number of intersecting joints. Using the finite element mesh, joint map and sequential analysis, the equivalent hydraulic conductivities are calculated for all 445 elements. The hydraulic inhomogeneity and the determination of the representative properties of jointed rock masses are discussed. In the REV analysis where the entire rock mass is homogenized through the representative properties, the inflow is increased regularly and consistently by increasing the joint density, the opening size and the conductivity contrast value. Though the non-REV analysis showed irregular variation of the inflow due to the local inhomogeneity allowed to individual elements, the inflow approached the REV results as the characteristic length increases. The joint network analysis showed the most sensitive reaction to the joint density, the opening size and the presence of the network crossing the opening. The reliability of the network analysis depends on the geometric data of individual joints. In view of the limited field data on joint geometry and possible uncertainty the REV and non-REV methods are considered more practical and rational than the joint network analysis.
