대전력 반도체 정류기 수냉식 냉각 설비 냉매 온도 제어시스템에 관한 연구 (The Study of Thyristor Valve Water Cooling Control Systems)

  • The design and implementation of thyristor water cooling control systems in considered in this pape Coolant water is pumped through the thyristor heat sinks where heat is transferred from the thyristo to the water. This water is then pumped through outdoor air-to-water heat exchangers where heat I transferred to the outside air. Since the water must be pure, it is filtered and de-ionized. Also the water temperature must be below dew-point temperature. Redundant pumps, outdoor heat exchangers, power supply system, controller monitoring system are provided for system reliability and availability.

  • 반도체 칩이나 전자제품에 사용되는 부품들은 작동할 때 발열을 하게 되며 발생한 열이 적절히 제거되지 않을 경우 제품 오작동의 원인이 된다. 이러한 열을 제거하기 위해 히트싱크(heatsink)와 냉각 팬 (cooling fan)을 조합한 냉각 구조가 사용된다. 그러나 히트싱크와 냉각 팬의 조합 구조는 복잡한 형상을 취하기 때문에 전기 전자 제품의 소형화 추세에 부응하기에는 어려움이 따른다. 냉각 효율은 히트싱크의 표면적과 히트싱크 제조시 사용된 재료에 따라 달라진다. 일반적인 냉각 구조의 한계를 극복하기 위한 방안으로써, Trach-etched 멤브레인의 표면과 기공(pore)에 무전해 금도금과 구리 도금을 실행하여 크기는 작으면서 표면적을 증가시킨 마이크로 히트싱크를 제조하였다. 제조한 마이크로 히트싱크의 구조는 주사현미경(SEM)과 광학 현미경으로 관찰하였으며, 일반적인 구리보다 열효율이 우수함을 방열 특성 실험을 통해 관찰하였다.

  • The purpose of this study is to improve the cooling performance of single and cascade refrigeration systems using thermoelectric modules. The system consists of a heat sink, fan, and thermoelectric module. The operating parameters considered in this study include power distribution between the first- and second-stage thermoelectric modules, air flow, and variable condensing unit. The cooling capacity increased with decreases in the temperature difference between hot and cold surfaces, but decreased with increases in the condensing temperature. The COP decreased with increasing electric power of the thermoelectric module because of the increased Joule heat. The cooling performance improvement using the thermoelectric module is represented by the freezer temperature.

  • Spray cooling is a technology of increasing interest for electronic cooling and other high heat flux applications. In this study, heat transfer coefficients (HTCs) and critical heat fluxes (CHFs) are measured on a smooth square flat copper heater of $9.53{\times}9.53mm$ at $36^{\circ}C$ in a pool, a smooth flat surface and Thermoexcel-E surfaces are used to see the change in HTCs and CHFs according to the surface characteristics and FC-72 is used as the working fluid. FC-72 fluid has a significant influence on heat transfer characteristics of the spray over the cooling surface. HTCs are taken from $10kW/m^2$ to critical heat flux for all surfaces. Test results with Thermoexcel-E showed that CHFs of all enhanced surface is greatly improved. It can be said that surface form affects heat transfer coefficient and critical heat flux.

2단압축 이산화탄소 사이클의 냉방성능 향상 특성에 대한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on the Cooling Performance Improvement of a Two-stage Compression $CO_2$ Cycle)

  • A $CO_2$ system using the two-stage compression cycle was tested by varying $1^{st}-2^{nd}$ compressor frequencies in the cooling mode. To improve the cooling performance of the two-stage compression $CO_2$ cycle, the following cycle options were applied: a basic cycle, a cycle with an intercooler, a cycle with an IHX (internal heat exchanger), and a cycle with an intercooler and IHX. The cycle with the intercooler-IHX showed the highest cooling capacity improvement among the cycle options at all compressor frequencies. The cycle with the intercooler, the cycle with the IHX, and the cycle with the intercooler-IHX improved the cooling COP by 7, 12, and 15%, respectively, over the basic $CO_2$ cycle when the compressor frequencies for the first and second compressors were 50 Hz and 30 Hz, respectively. In addition, the applications of the selected cycle options enhanced system reliability.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 전기자동차용 고발열 전자장비를 최적으로 냉각 제어하는 알고리즘을 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 준중형급 전기자동차의 전자장비 냉각시스템의 계절 부하별 냉각수온도 변화를 실험적으로 고찰하여 시험용 전기자동차 냉각 제어 로직의 타당성 분석을 수행하였다. 결과적으로 기존 전기자동차의 전자장비 냉각시스템은 필요 냉각부하인 기준온도와 비교하여 과도하게 구동되고 있음을 확인하였다. 또한, 전기자동차의 연비 향상을 위하여 외기온도, 차량속도, 냉매온도 등을 고려한 최적 냉각 제어 알고리즘이 필요하다.

  • Three liquid cooling heat exchangers for cooling of telecommunication equipment were designed and their cooling performances were tested. The liquid cooling heat exchangers had twelve rectangular channels $(5\times3 mm)$ with different flow paths of 1, 4, and 12. Silicon rubber heaters were used to provide heat flux to the test section. Heat input was varied from 75 to 400 W, while flow rate and inlet temperature of working fluid were altered from 1.2 to 4.0 liter/fin and from 15 to 3$30^{\circ}C$, respectively. The 4-path heat exchanger showed lower and more uniform average inner temperatures between heaters and the surface of heat exchanger than those of the others. To obtain optimal distribution of working fluid to each channels of liquid cooling heat exchangers, 2-3-2 and 4-3 type tube distributors were designed, and their distribution performances of working fluid were numerically and experimentally investigated. The distributor of the 2-3-2 type showed superior distribution performance compared with those of the 4-3 type distributor.

  • Many efforts have focused on the improvement of power density and efficiency by downsizing the motor and inverter. Recently, Toyota, Honda, and GM realized that the compact-sized motor uses the hairpin structure with increased space factor. Reducing the maximum torque from high-speed technique also makes it possible to design the high-power density model. Toyota and Honda used the newly developed power semiconductor IGBT to decrease conduction loss for high-efficiency inverter. In particular, Toyota used the boost converter to increase the DC link voltage for high efficiency in low-torque high-speed region. Toyota and GM also used the double-sided cooling structure for miniaturization of inverter for high-power density.

  • ERV system has installed in almost newly constructed residential building in Korea. Heat recovery features of ERV can be possible to decrease the heating and cooling load caused by ventilation. However, in case of the outdoor condition is favorable to control the indoor air, the heat recovery function of ERV does more harm than good in term of cooling load. In this study, the ERV with economizer cycle control for residential building is suggested and the performance of the suggested system will be analyzed using TRNSYS.

  • 본 논문에서는 열원인 전력용 반도체 소자와 방열판 및 팬으로 구성된 강제 냉각방식 방열 시스템을 먼저 해석 가능한 요소로 나눈 후 각 요소에 대한 해석적이거나 실험적인 설계 식을 제시하고 이를 적용한 설계 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법으로 400kW급 IGBT 인버터용 강제 냉각방식 방열 시스템을 설계하고 제작하였다. 실험결과는 설계 온도가 실험치에 대해 10[%] 오차 범위 내에서 잘 일치함을 검증하여 제안한 해석적인 정상상태 설계방법의 타당성을 보였다.
