The existing design materials by document type are restricted in searching and acquiring necessary design information because the materials consist of huge information and various document types. This study suggests a methodology to develop an electronic technical manual that can manage construction design materials by XML-base integrated information system. Electronic technical manual for design materials can provide visualized information through various multimedia tools such as multi-link, virtual reality and animation. Using an integrated electronic manual for construction project can prevent to miss necessary design information. The results of this study includes a data flow diagram to develop an interactive electronic technical manual (IETM) for construction design information. Finally the study suggests some scenarios for practical use and quantitative analysis of application effect analysis by AHP method.

As the construction industry is becoming large and complex, it is difficult to understand the overall business workflow and provide the required information. Accordingly, researches on the introduction of Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), used in manufacturing/maintenance industry, is being carried. In the case of construction projects, Frequent changes of relevant information occur according to changes in the project environments, so it is difficult for administrators to gather and organize the information. Therefore, this research suggests the Information Management Model for Construction Electronic Manual using Collective Intelligence to support the information changes, by expand the information mangers from the system administrators to the whole users and verify the model by applying the model to Urban Regeneration Electronic Manual.

Delayed repair to the failure of weapon system can cause enormous damages to military operation. Various materials like diagnostic equipment, general and special tools, technical manuals(maintenance manual and illustrated parts breakdown) and drawing documents are required for maintenance. For existing weapon systems the distributed environment of these various materials reduces the maintenance effectiveness of maintenance crew. In this paper, to provide the information of maintenance procedures and supply to the maintenance crew we develope a digital interactive electronic technical manual of the technical documents which can be used easily in computer through question and answer method and improve maintenance effectiveness and minimized repairing time.

The forth edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (1994) provides documentation advice for writers in the social sciences. This style of citation briefly identifies the source for readers and enables them to locate the source of information in the alphabetical reference list at the end of an article. Although the APA publication manual gives recommendations for citing some kinds of electronic resources, it acknowledges that at the time of writing this edition, a standard had not yet emerged for referencing on-line information. Because the manual was published before the development of the Internet as we know it, it does not have guidelines for citing www sites, web discussion forum posting, and other Internet resources,. Therefore this study aims to extend the principles and conventions of APA citation style to electronic resources.

Urban regeneration is a large-scale program that must address challenges such as a significant number of involved projects, diverse participants and their conflicting objectives, and a long life span. In an effort to address these issues, the Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) is applied to urban regeneration in order to provide a guideline to enhance urban regeneration program management. Through a survey, three major functionalities required in the IETM are identified: process map provision, customized information delivery, and communication ability with other information systems. To achieve these functionalities, the development framework of the IETM and the associated technologies are examined.Its characteristics can be sum up ontology-driven metadata, user-oriented process map composition system and so on. Finally, the usage scenarios of the IETM are discussed.

Over the past several years, numerous CALS technologies have been developed for improving productivity and the quality of products and services in an organization. Among these technologies, Interactive Electronic Technical Manual(IETM) has been recognized as one of the most important CALS technologies. IETM is a technical manual authored by means of an appropriate media in a digital format. This study was an attempt to establish conceptual foundations in the literature for IETM. This study described the concept of IETM and differentiated IETM from a technical manual. Also, the author suggested an effective approach to developing an ITEM and explained the relationship between HyTime/MID and IETM.

Objectives To evaluate the evidence supporting the effectiveness of Chuna manual therapy for primary insomnia. Methods The researcher conducted search across the 3 electronic databases (Pubmed, CAJ and Oasis) to find all of randomized controlled clinical trials(RCTs) that used Chuna manual therapy as a treatment for primary insomnia. Results Four RCTs met inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis showed positive results for the use of Chuna manual therapy in terms of the PSQI when compared to medication treatments alone. Positive results were also obtained, in terms of the PSQI, when comparing Chuna manual therapy combined with acupuncture therapy to acupuncture therapy alone, but was not statistically significant. Conclusions The review found encouraging but limited evidence of Chuna manual therapy for primary insomnia. We recommend clinical trials which compare the effectiveness of Chuna manual therapy with usual care to obtain stronger evidence without the demerits of trial design.

Objectives : To evaluate the effectiveness of Chuna Manual Therapy for adhesive capsulitis by a systematic review manner. Methods : Five foreign electronic databases (Pubmed, Ovid-medline, Embase, Cochrane library, Chinese Academic Journals (CAJ)) and two Korean medical electronic databases (Oriental Medicine Advanced Searching Integrated System (OASIS) and Research Information Sharing Service (RISS)) were searched to find all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) using Chuna Manual Therapy as a treatment for adhesive capsulitis. The methodological quality of each RCT was assessed using the Cochrane risk of bias tool. Results : Twenty-one RCTs met our inclusion criteria. The meta-analysis showed positive results on the use of Chuna Manual Therapy combined with acupuncture or exercise therapy in terms of the efficacy rate and pain using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), compared to acupuncture or exercise alone [SMD-1.81 (95% CI & -2.54, -1.08), P<0.001, RR 1.19 (95% CI 1.14, 1.23), P<0.001)]. Positive results in terms of efficacy rate were also obtained comparing Chuna Manual Therapy to acupuncture alone [RR 1.10 (95% CI 1.02, 1.18), P=0.01]. Conclusions : Our systematic review found favorable results on the effectiveness of Chuna Manual Therapy for pain and efficacy rate of adhesive capsulitis. However, evidence was limited due to the lack of well-designed RCTs. More qualified clinical trials are needed to obtain stronger evidence.

Objectives This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of manual therapy in patients with failed back surgery syndrome (FBSS). Methods We searched eight electronic databases from October 2022 and only selected randomized controlled trials (RCTs) reporting outcomes for manual therapy in FBSS patients. Included studies were analyzed qualitatively. Results A total of twelve RCTs were included and three studies were meta-analyzed. Manual therapy combined with exercise demonstrated more favorable outcomes in terms of pain reduction compared to exercise therapy only (P<0.01). Some studies reported that manual therapy resulted in low efficacy, while some studies reported that specific manual techniques have a significant effect in pain relief. We, therefore, conclude that several studies have a high risk of bias. Conclusions Findings suggest that manual therapy is a safe and non-invasive, promising option for managing FBSS. However, manual therapy is not the best option in all circumstances; thus, this should be selectively applied by a well-trained practitioner. Further studies such as well-designed, risk-controlled RCTs are required to gain stronger evidence.
