A Study on the Development of an Electronic Control Unit for a Gasoline Engine using Microcomputer (마이크로컴퓨터를 이용한 가솔린 기관용 전자제어장치의 개발에 관한 연구)

  • An ECU(Electronic Control Unit) with 16 bit microcomputer has been developed. This system includes hardware and software for more precise control on fuel injection, ignition timing, and idle speed. This control system employs an air flow sensor of the hot wire type, a direct ignition system, an idle speed control system using a solenoid valve, and a crank angle sensor. Especially, the crank angle sensor provides two separate signals: One is the position signal(POS) which indicates 180 degree pulses per revolution, and the other is the reference signla(REF) that represents each cylinder individually. The conventional engine control system requires at least two engine revolutions in order to identify the cylinder number. However, the developed engine control system can recognize the cylinder number within a quarter of an engine revolution. Therfore, the developed engine control system has been able to control fuel injection and ignition timing more quickly and accurately, Furthermore, the number of misfire reduces during the cold start.

  • The blending brake is mixed brake system which is operated by electrical and mechanical brake simultaneously. Most of urban transit system is used with blending brake unit. In order to train is align at the stopping position. The blending brake shall be presicely operated to the train. Many parameters are influence on the train when train is stopped on presicion position by blending brake. It is considered such parameters as decceleration, variable load, jerk, friction cofficient, etc. Therefore, This paper consider the parameter and describes the blending control for standard EMU. The control algorithm of it is proposed and simulation of it carried out by using MATLAB. Also Electronic control unit is manufactured with micro procesor which is configured fot blending control and is verified by performance test.

  • MAC(Multiply and ACcumulate) is the core operation of multimedia data processing. Because MAC units implemented on traditional DSP units or embedded processors have latency of three cycles and cannot operate on multiple data simultaneously, then, performances are seriously limited. Many high end general purpose microprocessors have SIMD MAC unit as a functional unit. But these high end MAC units must support pipeline structure for various operation modes and high clock frequency, which makes control logic complex and increases chip area. In this paper, a 64bit SIMD MAC unit for embedded processors is designed. It is implemented to have a latency of one clock cycle to remove pipeline control logics and a minimal area overhead for SIMD support is added to existing Booth multipliers.

  • 본 논문은 Jetson_TX2(임베디드 보드)의 ROS(Robot Operating System)기반으로 맵 지도를 작성하고, SLAM 및 DQN(Deep Q-Network)을 이용한 목적지까지의 이동명령(목표 선속도, 목표 각속도)을 자이로센서로 측정한 현재 각속도를 이용하여 Cortex-M3의 기반의 MCU(Micro Controllor Unit)에 하달하여 엔코더(encoder) 모터에서 측정한 현재 선속도와 자이로센서에서 측정한 각속도 값을 이용하여 PID제어를 통한 실내 자율주행 서비스 로봇.

  • Electronic components for space launch vehicles are exposed to a severe vibrational environment at launch and flight. The structural reliability of each component can be verified using mathematical approaches. In order to verify the structural reliability, an important parameter is the natural frequency of PCB(Printed Circuit Board) assembly mounted electronic components on and housing mounted PCB assembly in. In this paper, in order to find natural frequencies of PCB assemblies and the housing of hydrazine TCU(Thruster Control Unit), FEM(Finite Element Method) is adapted. The analytical result of FEM is verified by experimental method.

  • This paper presents an application of layered Artificial Neural Network controller to study load frequency control problem in power system. The objective of control scheme guarantees that steady state error of frequencies and inadvertent interchange of tie-lines are maintained in a given tolerance limitation. The proposed controller has been designed for a two-area interconnected power system. Only one artificial neural network controller (ANN), which controls the inputs of each area in the power system together, is considered. In this study, back propagation-through time algorithm is used as neural network learning rule. The performance of the power system is simulated by using conventional integral controller and ANN controller, separately. For the first time comparative study has been carried out between SMES and CES unit, all of the areas are included with SMES and CES unit separately. By comparing the results for both cases, the performance of ANN controller with CES unit is found to be better than conventional controllers with SMES, CES and ANN with SMES.

  • Crypto-systems have difficulties in designing hardware due to the various standards. We propose a programmable and configurable architecture for cryptography coprocessors to accommodate various crypto-systems. The proposed architecture has a 32 bit I/O interface and internal bus width, and consists of a programmable finite field arithmetic unit, an input/output unit, a register file, and a control unit. The crypto-system is determined by the micro-codes in memory of the control unit, and is configured by programming the micro-codes. The coprocessor has a modular structure so that the arithmetic unit can be replaced if a substitute has an appropriate 32 bit I/O interface. It can be used in many crypto-systems by re-programming the micro-codes for corresponding crypto-system or by replacing operation units. We implement an elliptic curve crypto-processor using the proposed architecture and compare it with other crypto-processors

Real-Time Digital Fuzzy Control Systems considering Computing Time-Delay

  • In this paper, the effect of computing time-delay in the real-time digital fuzzy control systems is investigated and the design methodology of a real-time digital fuzzy controller(DFC) to overcome the problems caused by it is presented. We propose the fuzzy feedback controller whose output is delayed with unit sampling period. The analysis and the design problem considering computing time-delay is very easy because the proposed controller is syncronized with the sampling time. The stabilization problem of the digital fuzzy control system is solved by the linear matrix inequality(LMI) theory. Convex optimization techniques are utilized to find the stable feedback gains and a common positive definite matrix P for the designed fuzzy control system Furthermore, we develop a real-time fuzzy control system for backing up a computer-simulated truck-trailer with the consideration of the computing time-delay. By using the proposed method, we design a DFC which guarantees the stability of the real time digital fuzzy control system in the presence of computing time-delay.

  • The technical development of electric vehicles has been actively proceeding because of the reduction of oil resources and need for eco-friendly vehicle technology. In particular, an electronic control unit is an important element in the technology of electric vehicles due to the motor drive system. This paper concerns an experimental study on the thermal analysis of the steering control ECU structure for an electric vehicle. The ECU unit is designed for eight heat sinks for the thermal analysis of the ECU structure. The thermal analysis characteristics of the ECU structure are evaluated by the temperature distribution, heat flow, von Mises stress, total translation, and external surface temperature measurement of the ECU unit.
