Many time-frequency analysis techniques have been used for motion compensated ISAR(Inverse Synthetic Aperture Radar) imaging. In this work, a novel time-frequency(T-F) analysis called evolutionary adaptive wavelet transform (EAWT) and evolutionary adaptive joint time-frequency(EAJTF) procedure are used for the motion compensated ISAR image. To show the validity of our algorism, we use simulated MIG-25 and Boeing 727(B-727) ISAR data. From the constructed ISAR image using EAWT and EAJTF, we show that our algorithm can obtain a clear motion compensated ISAR image such as other time-frequency analysis techniques.

Superconducting magnets have paved the way for opening new horizons in designing an electromagnet of a high field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) device. In the first phase of the superconducting MRI magnet era, low-temperature superconductor (LTS) has played a key role in constructing the main magnet of an MRI device. The highest magnetic resonance (MR) field of 11.7 T was indeed reached using LTS, which is generated by the well-known Iseult project. However, as the limit of current carrying capacity and mechanical robustness under a high field environment is revealed, it is widely believed that commercial LTS wires would be challenging to manufacture a high field (>10 T) MRI magnet. As a result, high-temperature superconductor together with the conducting cooling approach has been spotlighted as a promising alternative to the conventional LTS. In 2020, the Korean government launched a national project to develop an HTS magnet for a high field MRI magnet as an extent of this interest. We have performed a design study of a 7 T 320 mm winding bore HTS MRI magnet, which may be the ultimate goal of this project. Thus, in this paper, design study results are provided. Electromagnetic design and analysis were performed considering the requirements of central magnetic field and spatial field uniformity.

Metamaterials, artificially structured nanomaterials, have enabled unprecedented phenomena such as invisibility cloaking and negative refraction. Especially, hyperbolic metamaterials also known as indefinite metamaterials have unique dispersion relation where the principal components of its permittivity tensors are not all with the same signs and magnitudes. Such extraordinary dispersion relation results in hyperbolic dispersion relations which lead to a number of interesting phenomena, such as super-resolution effect which transfers evanescent waves to propagating waves at its interface with normal materials and, the propagation of electromagnetic waves with very large wavevectors comparing they are evanescent waves and thus decay quickly in natural materials. In this abstract, I will focus discussing our efforts in achieving the unique optical property overcoming diffraction limit to achieve several extraordinary metamaterials and metadevices demonstration. First, I will present super-resolution imaging device called "hyperlens", which is the first experimental demonstration of near- to far-field imaging at visible light with resolution beyond the diffraction limit in two lateral dimensions. Second, I will show another unique application of metamaterials for miniaturizing optical cavity, a key component to make lasers, into the nanoscale for the first time. It shows the cavity array which successfully captured light in 20nm dimension and show very high figure of merit experimentally. Last, I will discuss the future direction of the hyperbolic metamaterial and outlook for the practical applications. I believe our efforts in sub-wavelength metamaterials having such extraordinary optical properties will lead to further advanced nanophotonics and nanooptics research.
Thick films of carbon fiber were prepared by a heating element of plan shape made in Darin co., We have investigated surface morphology of the specimen depending on heat-treatment temperatures. Scanning electron microscope(SEM) image of carbon fiber thick films of the specimen heat treated shows a grain growth at $1200^{\circ}C$ and becomes a poly-crystallization at $1350^{\circ}C$. The variation of resistivity at the thermally annealed specimen above $600^{\circ}C$ depends on type of the substrates. It may be due to a variation of film thickness and a difference of interfacial phenomena. A heating element of features was affected significantly by skin blood and quantity of heat of the body physiological function. After radiation of farinfrared for plate heating element, the function of biometric physiological is considered of skin blood flow and calorie which greatly affects on individuals. Electromagnetic wave was not influence on the body.

Inverse synthetic aperture radar (ISAR) images can be generated by radar which radiates the electromagnetic wave to a target and receives signal reflected from the target. ISAR images can be widely used to target detection and recognition. This paper proposed a method of generation of high resolution ISAR images by synthesizing frequency spectrums of each stepped chirp waveform in one burst and sub-sampling in frequency domain. This process is performed over entire bursts during coherent processing interval. Conventional ISAR image generation method using stepped frequency waveform has a severe problem of short unambiguous range, loading to ghost phenomenon. However, this problem can be resolved by the proposed method. In simulations, we generate high resolution ISAR image of the moving target which is Boeing-737 aircraft model composed of several ideal point scatterers.

A C-band ground-based rotational SAR system is presented in this paper. The rotaional SAR system is a test-bed for future rotational SAR systems which can be deployed in space and on a tower. The test-bed system is designed for imaging the electromagnetic scattering from earth surfaces and buried targets. This paper also presents the examination results of the generated SAR images. This rotational SAR system is basically consisted of the network-analyzer based HPS(Hongik Polarimetric Scatterometer) and a horizontally rotating arm. Several SAR images were obtained using the rotational SAR system for various target areas. To verify this system, we simulated the SAR images for the rotational SAR using the FDTD algorithm and compared between the measured and simulated SAR images. The rotational SAR system is operated at the center frequency of 5 GHz and various frequency bandwidth within 0.5~2 GHz to change the resolution of SAR images.
Objectives: This study was resigned to observe change of body temperature for patients with low back muscular pain after NUGA MRT-II(pulsed electromagnetic therapy) treatment. Methods: This study was a randomized, patient-assessor blind, placebo-controlled, pilot trial study. After the approval of institutional review board(IRB), we have recruited 38 patients suffering from low back muscular pain and divided them into two groups randomly: the treatment group and control group. To the treatment group, NUGA MRT-II was practiced and to the control group sham device was practiced and their low back muscles and acupuncture points three times a week for 2 weeks from February 2011 to May 2011. After 1 week of last treatment, We compared body temperature of two groups. Results: 1. There was significant decrease of body temperature on both Shinsu(BL23), Chishil(BL52), Kwanwonsu(BL26) acupunture points for the treatment group. 2. There was no difference in the decrease of body temperature between treatment group and control group except. Left Kwanwonsu(BL26). Conclusions: We found out that treatment of NUGA MRT-II on low back muscular pain can reduce the temperature of low back.

When a free-falling ballistic missile intercepts a maritime target in a sea clutter environment at high grazing angle, detection performance of the ballistic missile's seeker can be rapidly degraded by the effect of sea clutter. To solve this problem, it is necessary to verify the performance of maritime target detection via simulations based on various scenarios. We accomplish this by applying a two-dimensional cell -averaging constant false alarm rate detector to a two-dimensional radar image, which is generated by merging a sea clutter signal at high grazing angle with a maritime target signal corresponding to the signal-to-clutter ratio. Simulation results using a computer-aided design model and commercial numerical electromagnetic solver in various scenarios show that the performance of maritime target detection significantly depends on the grazing and azimuth angles.
Purpose : In an attempt to further improve the radiofrequency (RF) magnetic ($B_1$) field strength in temporomandibular joint (TMJ) imaging, a 4-channel spiral-loop coil array with RF circuitry was designed and compared with a 4-channel single-loop coil array in terms of $B_1$ field, RF transmit (${B_1}^+$), signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and applicability to TMJ imaging in 7T MRI. Materials and Methods: The single- and 4-channel spiral-loop coil arrays were constructed based on the electromagnetic (EM) simulation for the investigation of $B_1$ field. To evaluate the computer simulation results, the $B_1$ field and ${B_1}^+$ maps were measured in 7T. Results: In the EM simulation result and MRI study at 7T, the 4-channel spiral-loop coil array found a superior $B_1$ performance and a higher ${B_1}^+$ profile inside the human head as well as a slightly better SNR than the 4-channel single-loop coil array. Conclusion: Although $B_1$ fields are produced under the influence of the dielectric properties of the subject rather than the coil configuration alone at 7T, each RF coil exhibited not only special but also specific characteristics that could make it suited for specific application such as TMJ imaging.
The feasibility of the application of terahertz electromagnetic waves in the diagnosis of prostate cancer was examined. Four samples of incomplete cancerous prostatic paraffin-embedded tissues were examined using terahertz spectral imaging (TPI) system and the results obtained by comparing the absorption coefficient and refractive index of prostate tumor, normal prostate tissue and smooth muscle from one of the paraffin tissue masses examined were reported. Three hundred and sixty cases of absorption coefficients from one of the paraffin tissues examined were used as raw data to classify these three tissues using the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Least Squares Support Vector Machine (LS-SVM). An excellent classification with an accuracy of 92.22% in the prediction set was achieved. Using the distribution information of THz reflection signal intensity from sample surface and absorption coefficient of the sample, an attempt was made to use the TPI system to identify the boundaries of the different tissues involved (prostate tumors, normal and smooth muscles). The location of three identified regions in the terahertz images (frequency domain slice absorption coefficient imaging, 1.2 THz) were compared with those obtained from the histopathologic examination. The tissue tumor region had a distinctively visible color and could well be distinguished from other tissue regions in terahertz images. Results indicate that a THz spectroscopy imaging system can be efficiently used in conjunction with the proposed advanced computer-based mathematical analysis method to identify tumor regions in the paraffin tissue mass of prostate cancer.
