The production of hydrogen fuel depends basically on the water electrolysis. The study on the decrease of overpotential which activates the hydrogen production is the core to elevate the hydrogen production efficiency on principle. Characteristics on the overpotential decrease are observed through the micro reaction by ultrasonic in electrolytic cell. For the above, the electrochemical analyzer, i.e., BAS is applied, Experiments with ultrasonic forcing into 4 kinds of solution such as city water, city water plus nitrogen. distilled water, and distilled water plus nitrogen are carried out. And concentrations of KOH are 0%, 10%, 20% and 30%. The basic characteristics of the overpotential decrease are obtained through the analysis by LSV technique in sweep technique. In results, it is clarified that the ultrasonic influences the decrease of overpotential to obtain the efficiency elevation of hydrogen fuel production.
A simple and convenient device for deflection-type direct reading the variations in electrolytic conductance is described and applied to the analysis of sulfur by combustion-$H_2O_2$ oxidation method. The apparatus consisted of a high resistance-ratio bridge in which the other adjacent arms are the differential cells. By adopting unusually high a-c voltage source for the bridge excitation, the a-c method for unbalanced bridge is established, decreased sensitivity owing to reduced bridge factor, 0.01, is overcome and also the absolute sensitivity and linearity are greatly improved. Over 50% variations in impedance of the balanced cell, within 1% deviation from the linearity can be attained with a volt (rms)order of output which was detected directly with VTVM without further amplification. Analysis of the bridge shows that these useful features are natural result of the constant current character of the high source impedance generator and the performance of the device agreed with the theoretical predictions. A standard procedure for the rapid analysis of sulfur using the bridge is also given, the analytical accuracy was approximately 1%. A determination takes not more than 5 minutes.
Novel copper(II) complexes have been synthesized from the macrocyclic Schiff bases derived from Knoevenagel condensed ${\beta}$-ketoanilides (obtained by the condensation of acetoacetanilide and substituted benzaldehydes), 4-aminoantipyrine and ophenylene diamine. The structural features have been determined from their analytical and spectral data. All the Cu(II) complexes exhibit square planar geometry. Their high molar conductance values support their 1 : 2 electrolytic nature. The magnetic moment data provide evidence for the monomeric nature of the complexes. The X-band ESR spectra of the |$CuL^1$|$(OAc)_2$ in DMSO solution at 300 and 77 K were recorded and their salient features are reported. The in vitro biological screening effects of the investigated compounds were tested against the bacterial species Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus vulgaris and Pseudomonas aeruginosa and fungal species Aspergillus niger, Rhizopus stolonifer, Aspergillus flavus, Rhizoctonia bataicola and Candida albicans by well diffusion method. A comparative study of inhibition values of the Schiff bases and their complexes indicate that complexes exhibit higher antimicrobial activity than the Schiff bases. Copper ions proved to be essential for the growth-inhibitor effect. The extent of inhibition appeared to be strongly dependent on the initial cell density and on the growth medium.

Throughout the world, studies on the water energization are currently under way. Of those, Brown gas, which is generated through the electrolyzation of water and is a mixed gas of the constant volume of 2 parts hydrogen to 1 part oxygen, has better characteristics in terms of economy, energy efficiency, and environmental affinity than those of acetylene gas and LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) used for existing welding machines. This paper analyzes the characteristics of Brown gas and presents methods for increasing the generating efficiency of Brown gas by designing a power supply to deliver power to a water-electrolytic cell and designing a cylindrical electrode to improve the efficiency of the electrolyzer needed for water electrolyzation. Based on the above the methods, a welding machine using Brown gas is developed. And the generation efficiency of Brown gas is measured tinder different conditions (duty ratio, frequency and amplitude) of supplied power.
In this paper, a novel proposal for a utility-interactive three-phase soft commutation sinewave PWM power conditioner with an auxiliary active resonant DC-link snubber is developed for fuel cell and solar power generation systems. The prototype of this power conditioner consists of a PWM boost chopper cascaded three-phase power conditioner, a single two-switch auxiliary resonant DC-link snubber with two electrolytic capacitors incorporated into one leg of a three-phase V-connection inverter and a three-phase AC power source. The proposed cost-effective utility-interactive power conditioner implements a unique design and control system with a high-frequency soft switching sinewave PWM scheme for all system switches. The operating performance of the 10 kW experimental setup including waveform quality, EMI/RFI noises and actual efficiency characteristics of the proposed power conditioner are demonstrated on the basis of the measured data.

The electrochemical conversion of $CO_2$ is one of the methods for reducing $CO_2$. Four materials (Ag, Ni, Pt, and Ir) were selected as the electrodes. The electrochemical conversion was performed under a cell voltage of 4.0 V at $600^{\circ}C$. The amounts of $CO_2$ reduction and carbon production were at the highest for Ag, followed by, Pt, Ni, and then Ir. The produced carbon samples were analyzed by thermogravimetric analysis and XRD. The thermogravimetric analysis results indicated that all the carbon produced at each electrode exhibited similar thermal reactivity. The XRD results showed that the crystallization of carbon was different depending on the electrode utilized. Although electrochemical conversion was the highest for the Ag electrode, a loss of material accompanied it. Therefore, for this study, the optimal electrode is Pt, taking into account reactivity and material losses.
Electroconvective instability is a non-linear transport phenomenon which can be found in ion-selective transport system such as electrodialysis, Galvanic cell and electrolytic cell. The instability is triggered by the fluctuation of space charge layer in adjacent of ion-selective surface, leading to increase of mass transport rate. Thus, in the aspect of mass transport, the instability has an important meaning. Although recent experimental techniques have opened up an avenue to direct visualize the instability, fundamental investigations have been conducted in limited area due to several experimental limitations. In this work, the electroconvective instability under potentiostatic mode was solved by numerical method in order to demonstrate correlation between current-time curve and the instability behavior. By rigorous time-resolved analysis, the transition behaviors can be divided into three stages; formation of space charge layer - growth of electroconvective instability - steady state. Furthermore, scaling laws of transition time were numerically obtained according to applied voltage as well.

The environment degradation of structural steel under high temperature is one of the key phenomena governing the availability and life of plant. This degradation resulted from the microstructural changes due to the long exposure at high temperature affect the mechanical properties such as creep strength and toughness. For instance, boiler tube materials usually tend to degrade, after long term operation, by precipitates, spherodizing, coarsening, and change in chemical composition of carbides. In this study, the material degradation under high temperature exposure was investigated by evaluating the carbide precipitation. The electrochemical polarization method was facilitated to investigate the precipitation and coarsening of carbides. It was shown by the modified electrochemical potentiokinetic reactivation (EPR) tests that the passivation of Mo-rich carbides did not occur even in the anodic peak current (Ip) which indicates the precipitation of Mo$_{6}$C was also observed. And it was assured that special electrolytic cell assembled in this research can be used for the detection of Mo$_{6}$C precipitation in the field.eld.

Fe-Ni-Pt nanocatalysts were loaded on carbon black powders which were synthesized by a spontaneous reduction reaction of iron (II) acetylacetonate, nickel (II) acetylacetonate and platinum (II) acetylacetonate. The morphology and the loading weight of Fe-Ni-Pt nanoparticles were characterized by transmission electron microscopy and thermogravimetric analyzer. The amount of Fe-Ni-Pt catalyst supported on the carbon black surface was about 6.42-9.28 wt%, and the higher the Fe content and the lower the Pt content, the higher the total amount of the metal catalyst supported. The Brunauer-Emmett-Teller Analysis (BET) specific surface area of carbon black itself without metal nanoparticles supported was 233.9 m2/g, and when metal nanoparticles were introduced, the specific surface area value was greatly reduced. This is because the metal nanocatalyst particles block the pore entrance of the carbon black, and thereby the catalytic activity of the metal catalysts generated inside the pores is reduced. From the I-V curves, as the content of the Pt nanocatalyst increased, the electrolytic properties of water increased, and the activity of the metal nanocatalyst was in the order of Pt > Ni > Fe.

This study is about ionic water generator filter Recently, a lot of people feel deep interest in health and drinking water. Evaluation of the stability of oxidation-reduced potential (ORP) using the filter of the alkaline water. This study utilizes the three filter of activated carbon, UF, carbon block in alkaline reduced water equipment. Passing the water to the filter is evaluated that the OPR values are stability in accordance with the change of the volume in the bucket. Alkaline reduced water equipment is a system that has the function of making the water reduction. This system is the values of the human body beneficial minerals and ORP are made in the functional water has a very low value than general water. Which has passed through the filter the water in the water negative ions and positive ions through the electrolytic. After electrolysis, the cathode side by water, including $Ca^+$, $K^+$, $Mg^+$, $Na^+$ water gets Alkaline Reduced Water containing the minerals beneficial to the human body. A positive electrode side is made of the organic materials that have an anion such as chlorine (Cl), phosphorus (P), sulfur(S). This experiment uses the Alkaline Reduced Water to adjust the magnitude of the voltage of the electrolysis in the Alkaline Reduced Water. That is 1st step(pH8) 2nd step (pH8.5) 3th step (pH9), 4th step (pH9.5) in the Alkaline Reduced Water and -1st step (pH6.0), -2nd step (pH5.0) used as the acidic oxidation water. When the water passes through the three filter in this system was evaluated whether the ORP values are changed and stabilized. When about 100 liters of water passing through the filter was confirmed that the ORP values are stability and evaluation.
