자동차용 중공 구동축의 고주파 경화 공정에 대한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Simulation of Induction Hardening Process of Tubular Drive Shaft for Automobile)

  • Induction hardening process of tubular drive shaft for automobile is simulated by combining the thermal, mechanical, electro-magnetic and metallurgical analysis models. Various material properties for each analysis model are obtained in a consistent way via material properties calculation software, JMatPro®. To consider the scanning process of induction heating, boundary element method is adopted for electro-magnetic field calculation. The distribution of temperature, stress and phase volume fraction are tracked out through the whole process and the effect of scanning velocity is reviewed. The analysis result shows that the critical principal stress is developed at the phase boundary where martensite is formed.

  • Because of high intensity and easy controllability of the heat source, high frequency induction heating has been concerned and studied for the steel forming process in the ship building industry. However, the heating and forming characteristics have to be further properly modelled and analyzed for the process to be utilized with its optimal working parameters. In this study, a modelling with thermo-elasto-plastic analysis is performed using the FEM to study heat flow and deformation of the steel plate during the forming process with the electro-magnetic induction heating. The numerical model is then used to study the effect of the inductor shape on the magnitude of angular deformation of the plate during the forming process. It is revealed that the square shape of inductor induces the largest deformation among the rectangular inductors.

  • In order to prevent the arc blow at the FCA welding system with multi-torches, the effects of arc length on the magnetic flux at the FCA weldment was evaluated using electro-magnetic filed analysis. Magnetic flux density around arc are slightly increased with an increase in the arc length. Based on the FEA results, the minimum distance of torches to control arc blow was established.

  • The modelling and controller design of the EMV(electro-magnetic valve) for vehicle engine are considered in this paper. For the analysis and controller design, the governing equation of the EMV system is derived. For a good performance of the system, the start control, the holding control and the swing control are included in the controller design of the EMV system. In order to reduce landing speed of the valve, the on-time delay control which mainly come from the optimal control theory is employed. In order to reduce the power consumption of the system, the pick-up and hold operation has been used for the magnetic coil. The simulation and experimental results are presented to show the validity of the control method.

  • In this paper, we have measured the power of the electro-magnetic waves in the cabin of automobiles with automatic transmission or manual transmission. Measured frequency ranges are $815\~865MHz\;and\;900\~950MHz$. Experimental studies are conducted by measuring the radiated power of the frequency spectrum for above frequency bands. The $\lambda/2$ dipoles used for measurement are fabricated to comply with the COMMISSION DIRECTIVE 95/54/EC. Experimental results confirm that the level of radiated power in the cabin of automobile with automatic transmission is higher than that with manual transmission. The measured values are less than -85dBm for the manual transmission vehicles, but more than -79dBm for the automatic transmission vehicles.

  • This paper describes the operating characteristic analysis of PM-type magnetic circuit breaker for electromagnetic field, electric circuit and mechanical motion problems. Transient calculations are based upon the magnetic equivalent circuit analysis including non-linearity of materials and using iteration routines. The analysis results of this magnetic equivalent circuit are compared with those of FEM.

  • The scanning electron microscope (SEM) is one of the most popular instruments available for the measurement and analysis of the micro/nano structures. It is equipped with an electron optical system that consists of an electron beam source, magnetic lenses, apertures, deflection coils, and a detector. The magnetic lenses playa role in refracting electron beams to obtain a focused spot using the magnetic field driven by an electric current from a coil. A SEM column usually contains two condenser lenses and an objective lens. The condenser lenses generate a magnetic field that forces the electron beams to form crossovers at desired locations. The objective lens then focuses the electron beams on the specimen. The present work concerns finite element analysis for the electron magnetic lenses so as to analyze their magnetic characteristics. To improve the performance of the magnetic lenses, the effect of the excitation current and pole-piece design on the amount of resulting magnetic fields and their peak locations are analyzed through the finite element analysis.

Mechanics of nonlocal advanced magneto-electro-viscoelastic plates

  • This paper develops a nonlocal strain gradient plate model for damping vibration analysis of smart magneto-electro-viscoelastic nanoplates resting on visco-Pasternak medium. For more accurate analysis of nanoplate, the proposed theory contains two scale parameters related to the nonlocal and strain gradient effects. Viscoelastic effect which is neglected in all previous papers on magneto-electro-viscoelastic nanoplates is considered based on Kelvin-Voigt model. Governing equations of a nonlocal strain gradient smart nanoplate on viscoelastic substrate are derived via Hamilton's principle. Galerkin's method is implemented to solve the governing equations. Effects of different factors such as viscoelasticity, nonlocal parameter, length scale parameter, applied voltage and magnetic potential on damping vibration characteristics of a nanoplate are studied.

  • Asymmetric electro-magnetic force caused by the frictional worn bearing, rotor misalignment and unbalanced rotor etc. generates an asymmetrical operation, vibration and electro-magnetic noise. The need for detection of these rotor eccentricities has pushed the development of monitoring methods with increasing sensitivity and noise immunity. This paper is proposed the analysis method of the squirrel-cage induction motor driven by IGBT inverter using finite element method (FEM) and subroutine. The effect of the unbalanced magnetic pull in the inverter-fed induction motor which is in asymmetrical whirling motion is presented. The analysis results of rotor eccentricity could compare with motors which have been made normal air-gap motor and irregular air-gap motor and verify reliability. The simulation and experiment results can be useful for on-line faults detection monitoring system of induction motors.

함정 탑재 V/UHF 안테나의 전계 특성 분석 (Analysis of the Electric-field Characteristics of V/UHF Antennas Installed on a Shipboard)

  • Analysis of the electromagnetic environment on topside of a ship is needed for optimal arrangement of all kinds of antennas to be installed on the shipboard in order to minimize the probability of EMI of equipment and subsystems in real ship after construction phase. In this paper we analyze the characteristics of electric-fields such as radiation patterns and near E-fields of V/UHF antennas installed on a shipboard. We compare simulated results with measurements on the real ship for near E-fields to verify the reliability of the computed electromagnetic environment. Although there are various factors causing errors such as cable loss and impedance mismatching etc. when measuring near E-field, both data show similar trends in the range of the acceptable tolerance.
