A Study on the Improvement of KC Certification Scheme of Electrical Appliances for Global Competence (글로벌 경쟁력 강화를 위한 전기용품 안전인증제도(KC) 개선에 관한 연구)

  • Electrical product safety certification is for public safety. Korea electrical safety certification (KC) is being tested and certified on the base of Korean electrical appliance safety act and KC scheme. There are operating system and Electrical safety standards in the KC scheme. KC' operating system was adapted from japan operating system of Japan certification scheme. But KC certification' electrical safety standard was adapted from IEC standards of IECEE CB scheme. So There are many problems such as difference of version between KC standards and IEC standards, discrepancy between operating system and standards. Therefore, This paper analyzed the reason of discrepancy and proposed the improved KC certification operating system in order to reduce cost and to save time in the procedure of issuing KC approval for public safety in using electrical products and also for global competence.

Prediction of Electrical Load Profile for Use in Simulating the Performance of Residential Distributed Generation Systems (가정용 분산전원시스템의 성능 모사를 위한 전력부하 프로파일 예측)

  • The electrical load profiles of end-users must be analysed properly to introduce distributed generation system efficiently. In this study, numerical simulation for predicting a residential electrical load profile was developed to satisfy categorized electricity consumption range. We applied bottom-up approach to compose electrical load profile by using data from official reports and statistics. The electrical load profile produced from the simulation predicted peak times of public report accurately and agreed well with the standard residential electrical load profile of official reports within average error of 16.2%.

  • Power metering and monitoring system is a basic element of Smart Grid technology. This paper proposes a new Non-Intrusive Load Monitoring (NILM) method for a residential buildings sector using the measured total active power consumption. Home electrical appliances are classified by ON/OFF state models, Multi-state models, and Composite models according to their operational characteristics observed by experiments. In order to disaggregate the operation and the power consumption of each model, an algorithm which includes a switching function, a truth table matrix, and a matching process is presented. Typical profiles of each appliances and disaggregation results are shown and classified. To improve the accuracy, a Time Lagging (TL) algorithm and a Permanent-On model (PO) algorithm are additionally proposed. The method is validated as comparing the simulation results to the experimental ones with high accuracy.

  • The complex sensorless control scheme is not practical for use in the field of home appliance systems because it is not economical. Therefore, it is necessary to introduce a simplified sensorless control scheme that is composed of least calculation to estimate the rotor position. This paper presents the principle of the rotor position estimation with comparison of the estimated flux linkage and reference flux linkage. In order to verify the feasibility of the control scheme, ACSL is used for the simulation and TI DSP TMS320F240 is used for the experiment.

  • The line start permanent magnet (LSPM) motor has been developed facilitate to the design of the synchronous motor. The rotor of this motor is composed of interior permanent magnets and aluminum bars instead of rotor windings. It is difficult to predict the performance characteristics accurately, because many characteristics are produced by the aluminum rotor bars and the permanent magnets. Therefore, in this paper the dynamic characteristics of the LSPM motor are described and compared via the time-stepped finite element method with those of the cage-type induction motor to find the characteristics of the permanent magnets and the rotor bars in the LSPM motor.

  • In the machine tool industry, direct drive linear motor technology is an interesting means to achieve high acceleration, and to increase reliability. This paper analyzes and compares the characteristics of a tubular linear motor with Halbach and radial magnet array, respectively. First, the governing equations are established analytically in terms of the magnetic vector potential and two dimensional cylindrical coordinate systems. Then, we derive magnetic field solutions due to the PMs and the currents. Motor thrust, flux linkage and back emf are also derived. The results are shown to be in good conformity with those obtained from the commonly used finite element method. Finally, control parameters are obtained from analytical solutions.

  • 본 논문에서는 영구자석형 동기전동기와 유도기 특성을 결합한 written-pole motor(WPM)의 운전특성을 다룬다. WPM은 회전자 표면의 자석을 운전 중 착자할 수 있도록 하는 exciter pole을 갖는 독특한 구조로서 유도기와 동기기의 특성을 동시에 나타낸다. WPM의 운전 원리를 설명하고 가전용으로 실제 설계, 제작된 WPM을 대상으로 실험을 통해 특성을 검증하였다.

  • The development of modern high-energy magnet materials has allowed the replacement of field coils in many different types of electromagnetic energy conversion machines. As well, the linear synchronous motor has recently been proposed for linear motion with high efficiency and thrust. Thus, this paper presents an analytical solution for the high thrust and cost reduction of the Iron-Cored Permanent Magnet Linear Synchronous Motor (PMLSM) considering magnetization arrays and geometry. Hence, the superior utilization points in each of the magnetization arrays are provided by the height ratio of the magnet/air-gap and magnet/winding coil, etc. In formulation, the space harmonic method in analytical solutions and the generalized 2-D tensor finite element analysis can be used to evaluate force components in magneto static devices including the magnetostrictive phenomenon.

  • This paper presents a new conceptual electromagnetic induction eddy current-based stainless steel plate spiral type heater for heat exchanger or dual packs Heater in hot water system boiler steamer and super heated steamer, which is more suitable and acceptable for new generation consumer power applications. In addition, an active clamped quasi resonant PWM high frequency inverter using trench gate IGBTs power module can operate under a principle of zero voltage soft commutation with PWM is developed and demonstrated fora high efficient induction heated hot water system and boiler in the consumer power applications This consumer induction heater power appliance using active clamp soft switching PWM high-frequency inverter is evaluated and discussed on the basis of the simulation and experimental results.
