Reduction of AC losses is very important for realizing HTS cable and it had been reported that the same layer current controlled by twisting pitch and direction could reduce the AC losses effectively. During the long-term development of HTS cables, the superconductor AC losses will need to be reduced to a level determined by the economics of each installation and the efficiency of the refrigeration. Theoretical models have been developed to predict the magnitude of the losses in cables composed of several layers of flat HTS tapes. This paper is manufactured mini-model HTS cable and voltage signal line to spiral shape. Mini-model HTS cable is composed of 13 HTS tape. We measured to critical current and AC loss and compared used lock-in-amp to cancel coil. This data is useful to HTS cable of DAPAS program.

Recently the development of small hydropower generation with using water pipes is revitalized by the water works facilities. However, when the tubine generator is in case of emergency stop by the internal and external accidents, it causes water hammer in water pipes and suspension of water supply. To prevent these problems of small hydropower generator, we has analyzed water supply patterns, installation position and water pipe systems.

The Gas Insulated Switchgear(GIS) has made it an indispensible part of power transmission network. In order that the GIS may have its high reliability, it is necessary to pay careful attention to its whole process e.g., designing, manufacturing, installation, and operation. The main hazard in GIS comes from free conducting particles, which can move and cause breakdown under the influence of the electric field. Although the concentration on protecting the GIS inner part against the free conducting particles is made, it is, actually, almost impossible to avoid the hazard from the particles throughly. In this paper, the corona discharge in GIS initiated by the free conducting particles was discribed through laboratorial experiment The magnitude of the corona discharge voltage was measured using current measuring method by the impedance. The purpose of this experiment is to get fundamental data which is essential to develop GIS diagnosis technology.

전력사업은 설비사업인 만큼 고객과 밀접한 관계가 있으며, 고객의 지지기반이 없으면 사업을 할 수 없다고 해도 과언이 아니다. 한전 울산지점에서는 공익사업자로서의 국민의 지지기반을 확충하고자 울산 공업탑에 우리나라 최초로 "환경 조명등"을 시설하여 '96. 7. 18 점등식을 갖고 울산시에 기부 체납하는, 차원을 달리하는 새로운 사회사업 활동을 시도한 후 시민 여론조사를 실시한바, "한전의 사회 기여 인지도가 90%이상"으로 나타나는 큰 성과를 거두었으며, 이번 환경 조명등 사업을 시행하면서 경험한 바로 미루어 볼 때 앞으로 전력사업자는 다양한 사회사업을 많이 하는 것이 바람직하고, 또한 이를 통한 고객의 지지기반 구축을 확대 하므로서 전력사업을 발전시켜 나가는 것이 바람직하다고 사료된다.

Design & Operation of power system for meeting increase of electric Power demand is becoming more difficult and complex. One of reasons is increase of fault current. As one of the most effective methods for suppressing the fault current installation of SFCL is expected. These paper describes a method of fault analyses of power system with SFCLs, and also discusses determination of specification of SFCLs, effects of limiting the fault current due to SFCLs by use of the model system of two - bus electric power system with single transmission lines.

The hybrid composite carbody structures were considered as the carbody system of Korean Tilting Train eXpress(TTX) to achieve the lightweight design. The TTX carbodies are composed of the carbody shell made of the sandwich composite structure and the undeframe made of the metal structure. The sandwich structures were used to minimize the weight of carbody, and the metal underframe was used to modify the design easily and to keep the strength of underframe by the installation of the electrical equipments. The sandwich carbody structures will be cured in an autoclave. In this paper, the manufacturing processes of the TTX carbody structures were introduced briefly.

A medical environment in which patient information can be accessed anytime / anywhere is called a "ubiquitous environment". To realize such an environment, the installation of wireless LAN is quite effective. Because the maximum radio wave output (antenna power) is set low in Japan, it has been easy to safely introduce wireless LAN into hospitals, to date mainly into large hospitals. However, if the placement of access points is not done properly, problems will occur, such as signals not reaching the desired area. A solution to these types of problems is to do an electromagnetic-field propagation simulation, which should be performed before construction of the hospital. It is also necessary to protect against security problems, such as signal interception or illegal access. We herein show our procedures for the safe introduction of wireless LAN.

This paper analyses the operation characteristic of distance relay when the single line to ground occurs in underground power cable systems that reduction device of sheath circulating current is installed. To apply that reduction device to actual system, the change of line impedance calculated at relay point is also analysed by the connection type of SVLs and fault location, fault inception angle with the installation of reduction device of reactor or not.

This paper presents the scheme for load model based dispersed generation system (DGs) installation and operation in unbalanced distribution systems. Groups of each individual load model consist of residential, industrial, commercial, official and agricultural load. The main idea of solving fuzzy nonlinear goal programming is to transform the original objective function and constraints into the equivalent multiple objective functions with fuzzy sets to evaluate their imprecise nature for the criterion of power loss minimization, the number or total capacity of DGs and the bus voltage deviation, and then solve the problem using genetic algorithms. The method proposed was applied to IEEE 13 bus test systems to demonstrate its effectiveness.

The reliability performance of distribution networks will be enhanced with the installation of application programs including feeder reconfiguration program for loss minimization and optimization of system capacity. Although the basic functions of remote monitoring and remote control provide no measurable cost benefit the suite of application programs developed and now being commissioned by KEPCO, the future will continue to offer this utility with substantial savings in system operational costs, improve system reliability and customer service.
