선박에서의 CO2 배출량 저감 방안 연구 (The Study on Reduction Method of CO2 Emission from Ships)

  • This Paper presented the reduction methods of $CO_2$ emission from ships during voyage. In order to decrease $CO_2$ emission during voyage the equation was established and conducted the study about the relationship between ship speed, the propulsive efficiency and its $CO_2$ production. The results obtained from the examinations are as follows : 1. $CO_2$ emission from sailing ships can be decreased by reducing specific fuel oil consumption of main diesel engine, coefficient of total resistance and ship speed and also by increasing propeller efficiency. 2. Diesel-electric propulsion system is more effective than diesel-mechanical system to decrease the level of $CO_2$ emission during long voyage. 3. Good condition of ship's hull surface, rudder and propeller's surface can decrease the quantity of fuel oil and $CO_2$ emission by reducing the resistance of ship that can rise the propeller efficiency 4. $CO_2$ emitted from ships can be decreased in a global scale by giving attention to the synthetic transport efficiency.

  • 본 논문은 선박 감시 시스템에서 수집된 데이터를 통계적 분석을 통해 고장유무를 진단할 수 있는 통계적 방법 기반의 고장진단시스템을 제안한다. 이를 위해 선박엔진데이터를 연소계통, 열교환계통, 그리고 전동기 및 펌프계통으로 분류하고 이들 데이터 간 상관계수를 분석하여 고장진단을 위해 필요한 전문가지식기반의 진단테이블을 도출한다. 고장진단성능을 테스트하기 위해 실제 운항데이터에 고장의 원인이 될 수 있는 외란을 삽입하여 고장유무를 판단하며 이를 사용자편의의 인터페이스로 제공하기 위해 VC++로 고장진단시스템을 구현한다.

  • Efforts to reduce carbon dioxide(CO2) emissions are being carried out due to climate environmental problems. Eco-friendly ships are also being developed, and various energy saving measures have been developed and applied. In ships, researches have been conducted in various fields such as electric propulsion system and energy saving devices. In addition, the development of ships using various renewable energy, such as kite using wind power and wind power generation, has been carried out. This paper proposes a plan to use renewable energy for ships by applying wave generators to small ships. In 2016, 130 small domestic ships drifted by sea due to discharge of starting storage batteries, and discharge cases accounted for the largest portion of the causes of domestic ship accidents. This is due to the excessive use of storage batteries for starting the main engine by departing in a weak storage battery state for small ships. Accordingly, two type wave power generators - opened flow wave power generator and enclosed vibrator type wave power generator - are developed for charging a starting storage battery when the ships are stationary at sea or port. Opened flow wave power generator utilizes the flow of fluid in the ship by using wave induced ship motion. Enclosed vibrator type wave power generator utilizes the pendulum kinetic energy located in a ship due to wave induced ship motion.

  • Recently fishing industry is interested in efficient and automated fishing implementations to reach the level of the international leading technology. One of the important device used in fishing boat is an automated electric compass that harnesses the GPS and terrestrial magnetic sensor. The electric compass is desired to be minimized in size while keeping a high effectiveness in the characteristic of a magnetic compass. This device also can be used as a heading angle sensor to construct auto-navigation system in a small size of ships. However, there exists measurement errors induced from the slope of terrestrial magnetic sensor caused by the motion of boat. In this paper, a method has been proposed removing the measurement error arising from the slope of terrestrial magnetic sensor when the ship is in motion. We have designed a sensor with two DOF(degree of freedom) and a weight to maintain the horizontality of the sensor. Through this research, the hardware has been designed and also a test has been performed. The test shows a promissory result.

Hybrid Phase Excitation Method for Improving Efficiency of 7-Phase BLDC Motors for Ship Propulsion Systems

  • This paper proposes a hybrid phase windings excitation method for improving the efficiency of a 7-phase brushless DC (BLDC) motor in the electric propulsion system of a ship. The electrical losses of a BLDC motor system depend on the operating region and the number of excited phase windings (2-phase, 4-phase or general 6-phase windings). In this paper the operating region and torque/speed characteristics according to the motor rotation speed and propeller load are analyzed for a number of excitation methods. In addition, it analyzes the electrical losses of the system under each of the excitation methods in the entire operating region of the motor. In every sampling time, the proposed control method calculates the electrical loss of the system for each of the excitation methods and operates a 7-phase BLDC motor by selecting the excitation method that results a decreased electrical loss at the operating speed. The usefulness of the proposed control algorithm is verified through experimental results.

  • 한국 해군은 짧은 역사에도 불구하고 많은 전함을 운용하고 있다. 잠수함, 구축함, 호위함, 고속함 등 다양한 유형의 함정을 보유하고 있다. 각각의 함정은 운영 요구 사항에 적합한 추진시스템을 사용한다. 하이브리드 추진시스템은 함정의 기술발전에 따라 기계추진시스템에서 기계-전기추진시스템으로 발전하고 있으며, 향후 통합 전기추진시스템도 도입될 것으로 기대된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 한국 해군이 운용하는 주요 함정의 추진체계를 조사하고, 향후 해군력의 변화를 예측하여 향후 해군 함정추진체계를 제안한다.

  • Since the oil crisis in 1970, a great deal of effort has been made to develop automatic electric load sharing systems as a part of the efforts to save energy. A large scale electric generating system composes more than two generators whose characteristics may be different. When such a system is operated individually or in parallel, the lagrange multiplier's method has difficulty in achieving optimal load distribution because generators usually have the limitations of the operating range with inequality constraints. Therefore, a suitable operating mode of generators has to be decided according to the selection of the generators to meet electric power requirements at the minimum cost. In this study, a method which solves the optimal electric load distribution problem using the dynamic programming technique is proposed. This study also shows that the dynamic programming method has an advantage in dealing with the optimal load distribution problem under the limitations of the operating range with inequality constraints including generator operation mode. In this study, generator operating cost curve of second order equation by shop trial test results of diesel generators are used. The results indicate that the proposed method can be applied to the ship's electric generating system.

  • Although the concept of RTLS is very unfamiliar to construction industry, recently it is popular in other industry, such as logistics, ship building, mobile telecommunication based on state-of-the-art information technology. Effective resource management using cutting-edge information technology makes it possible to succeed a project with saving the time and cost. And effective information management in construction project can be achieved by the new technologies such as RFID, WEB-based internet, DB technology, real-time monitoring technology, etc. This paper suggest the characteristics and applicability of the international standard electric waves to be used for the real-time locating system (RTLS) on the viewpoint of transmission loss in construction field to monitor and manage resources of construction project effectively The two types of electric waves based on the international standard is to be suggested after surveying the as-is technology in the related industries and then is analyzed to find out the characteristics of those by the concept of the electric wave transition loss in the several construction situations. Two main electric waves, the 2.4GHz and the 433MHz technologies as the international standard is researched on the applicability to the indoor environment of construction site.

전기추진선박의 추진용으로 사용되는 브러시리스 직류전동기의 제 어방법에 따른 성능향상에 관한 연구 (Control Method for Performance Improvement of BLDC Motor used for Propulsion of Electric Propulsion Ship)

  • 직류전동기는 속도제어가 간단하고, 출력 토크특성이 우수한 장점으로 윈치나 카고 펌프 모터 등으로 선박에서 많이 사용되었으며, 전기추진선박이 도입된 초기에는 선박용 추진전동기로도 적용되었다. 하지만 브러시와 정류기와 같은 기계적 정류장치의 단점으로 인해 최근에는 직류전동기와 전기적인 특성은 매우 유사하지만 기계적인 정류장치를 설치하지 않고 반도체 소자를 이용한 전자적인 정류장치를 사용하는 브러시리스 직류전동기의 사용이 증가하고 있다. 기존의 브러시리스 직류전동기를 구동하기 위한 인버터 시스템은 2상여자방식을 사용하므로 역기전력파형이 사다리꼴모양으로 되며, 이로인해 전류가 흐르는 권선이 바뀌는 상전류 전환 구간에서 고조파와 토크리플이 발생하게 된다. 이러한 고조파와 토크리플을 저감하기 위한 다양한 방안이 연구되어 발표되었으며, 본 연구에서는 전력분석프로그램을 이용하여 브러시리스 직류전동기의 구동회로에 비례적분 속도전류제어기 알고리즘을 구현한 Cascaded H-Bridge 멀티레벨 인버터를 적용하였다. 모델링한 브러시리스 직류전동기의 시뮬레이션을 통해 제안하는 전동기의 구동방식을 적용하는 경우에 기존의 구동방식에 비해 전동기 입력측 전압파형 개선과 고조파 및 토크리플이 현저히 저감되는 결과를 확인할 수 있었다.

선박 냉각시스템에서의 전기 에너지 절감 시스템에 관한 연구 (Study on the Electric Energy Saving System in Marine Cooling System)

  • Fuel represents a significant portion of the operating costs of voyages of the vessel. Under this situation, dramatic increase in fuel price caused a problem that earnings of ship becomes decreased seriously. Pumps in a cooling system of the vessel are often operated inefficiently. The reasons will vary from process to process and application to application. Inefficiency of pumps is one of the reason for making the cost of operating the vessel increased. This paper suggests energy-effective cooling system that controls sea water pumps with inverters to reduce energy consumption in vessel by conducting simulation with LabVIEW. Results shows that electric energy consumption of pumps are significantly deceased. If this energy-effective cooling system is applied to other systems which need cooling, it could be useful in reducing electric energy wastage.
