Simulation and Energy Cost Calculation of Encapsulated Ice Storage System (캡슐형 빙축열시스템에 대한 운전 시뮬레이션 및 에너지비용 분석)

  • Ice storage systems are used to shift the peak load in day time into night time in summer. This paper describes a system simulation of partial ice storage system composed of an encapsulated ice storage tank, a screw compressor chiller, a heat exchanger, and a brine pump. For the system simulation, a one-dimensional model of ice storage tank is developed and validated by comparison with the performance data from measurements of an ice storage tank installed at a building. The control strategies considered in this study are chiller priority and storage priority being used commercially. The system is simulated with design cooling load of 600 RT peak load in design day and with off-design day cooling load, and the electric energy costs of the two control strategies for the same system size are compared. As a result of calculation, the energy consumption in a week for storage priority is higher than that for chiller priority control. However due to lower cost of night electric charge rate, energy cost for storage priority control is lower than chiller priority.

  • In most cases, the use of electric power is associated with the economic scale of a nation closely. Thus, the electric power load forecasting plays an important role for the national economic plan. This paper deals with the design method for the electric power load forecasting system. In this paper, RCR-MA data processing, which can make the complex properties of the original data form simple, is proposed. Next, IT2TSK FLS, which can reflect the uncertainty of data more than T1TSK FLS, is applied. Consequently, the structural advantage of the proposed system can improve the forecasting accuracy, and is verified by using two types of electric power data.

  • In recent years, it becomes a worldwide trend that the power utilities focus their attention to Demand Side Management. Increasing Electric power consumption, they adopt a direct load management to accomplish low cost and stability of electric supply. Following this trend, KEPCO is researching a Direct Load Control System for Air Conditioner. This Paper presents the development results of the Direct Load Control System to Control electric power consumption of Conditioner in summer period this year.

  • Hourly load forecasting has become indispensable for practical simulation of electric power system as the system become larger and more complicated. To forecast the future hourly load the cyclic behavior of electric load which follows seasonal weather, day or week and office hours is to be analyzed so that the trend of the recent behavioral change can be extrapolated for the short term. For the long term, on the other hand, the changes in the infra-structure of each electricity consumer groups should be assessed. In this paper the concept and process of hourly load forecasting for hourly load is introduced.

  • We measured potential waveform of load, displacement, micro electric signal generated by rock and mortar fracture using PXI A/D Converter. The rock type used for measurement was used granite, limestone and sandstone, and mortar specimen. we made measuring equipment of physical properties to confirm basic information of physical properties, measured physical properties of rock engineering, electric resistivity and seismic velocity. Potential waveform system was built using PXI A/D Converter and measured potential waveform of load, displacement, micro-electric signal generated using this during uniaxial compressive test by the specimen finished such test of physical properties. Using the saturated rock and mortar specimen, micro electric signal increased, and It didn't increase a signal in dried rock and mortar specimen according as load and strain rate increases. But signal also increased in saturated or dried specimen in case of sandstone. It was possible to check the close correlation relationship the signal and fracture behavior by a compressive load as the signal of fracture position was increased bigger than the other position. It was also possible to check the correlation relationship between physical properties and micro geo-electric signal.

  • The electric load components have different characteristics against variation of voltage and frequency. This paper presents the load modeling of electric locomotive by the parameter identification method. Proposed method for load modeling is very simple and easy for application. Proposed load model of the electric locomotive is the combined load of the static and dynamic characteristic load. This load modeling is applied to the KTX to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results of the proposed load modeling by parameter identification follow the field measurements very exactly.

  • This paper is about modeling on 1500V DC electric railroad system. Electric railroad systems have peculiar characteristics against other electric system. The characteristics arc that the railroad systems have electric vehicle loads which are power-varying and location-varying with time. Because of this load characteristic, the electric railroad system modeling which reflects its own characteristics on EMTDC simulation could not be achieved. However, to reflect load characteristic on EMTDC, this paper suggests electric railroad system modeling by using TPS (Train Performance Simulator) that was developed in Korea Railroad Research Institute. A TPS program has various kinds of input data, such as operation condition, vehicle condition, and power system condition. By these data, TPS calculates mechanical power consumption and location, especially it decide electric power consumption on the basis of the fact that consumed electric and mechanical power are equal. Moreover, on this paper, movement of vehicle is reflected on EMTDC simulation as variation of feeder impedance. Also, an electric vehicle load is modeled as time-varying constant power load model.

  • This study has been focused on the selection of optimal electric motor load, which takes a lot of portions of motor driving factor in the building. Based on the past design data for existing electric motor load and method of calculation, it is known that in general electric machine load has been estimated excessively. For the accurate calculation, it is important apply to motor driving factor to be actually provided.
