카본 발열체의 온도 및 전기적 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Temperature and Electrical Characteristics of Carbon Heater)

  • This paper aims to study several type heaters which are mica heater, film heater, quartz heater and rod heater and to get an temteraturel and electrical characteristics. These four type heaters have a merit in many fields than present electric heater with nichrome wire. Carbon and mica plate heater have higher heat efficiency and less electromagnetic waves. Also it has been reported that far infrared ray emission from this heater is good for our health. Additionally heating element is thin and lighter plate. For these reasons, they will be widely used to various application such as room-heating or manufacturing goods. Experimental result confirmed that when 220V current authorized, the temperature, electric current, electric power and the resistance rise to stationary state in early stage. Moreover, the temperatures and electric characteristics show a good stability.

전기히터의 화재위험성에 관한 실험연구 (An Experimental Study on the Fire Hazards in Electric Heater)

  • This study presents on the analysis fire hazards of electric heater. In order to analyze fire hazards fire experiment is conducted. The fire experiment is conducted to simulate normal condition and abnormal condition. The abnormal condition experiment is simulated in which combustibles are placed near by electric heater. Vertical burning test(UL 94) is conducted for the fire retardant experiment. The results show that fire hazard is high in case of abnormal condition. And Material of electric heater has not fire retardant performance. In this paper, we suggest to add temperature fuse in electric heater for reducing fire hazard.

심야전력을 이용한 Cascade Heat Pump Cycle의 운전결과 분석 (Analysis on Cascade Cycle Heat Pump Application as Night Storage Heater)

  • To analyze and verify the effect of replacing thermal storage heater by a cascade cycle heat pump using midnight electricity was installed and tested at a customer's house in Wonju, Korea. The electric night storage heater is consist of 30kW electric heater and 2,700 liters of thermal storage water tank to supply hot water for warming house floor. The power for electric heater was cut off and hot water was only generated by cascade cycle heat pump. Current thermal storage water tank was not eliminated and electric heater wiring was modified. Some operation logic of the heat pump was also modified for proper operation. The required capacity of the heat pump and hot water temperature for given warming condition were estimated. The estimated capacity of heat pump was about 19kW and estimated hot water temperature for proper heating was at least $75^{\circ}C$.

  • In Korea Electric Power Corporation (or KEPCO), several Demand-Side Management (or DSM) program have been carried out to effectively meet electric power demand at least costs by modifying customers electricity use patterns. As one of them, KEPCO applies low-priced night thermal-storage power service for heat appliances to facilitate efficient use of power facilities by shifting relatively high daytime demands to night hours to build loads during the off-peak periods. In the market of heat-storage type water-heater, electric water-heater has been mostly used, but it has low energy efficiency and needs high capacity electric equipments. So in order to replace these electric water heaters, 15 HP air-source heat pump water heater is developed in Korea Electric Research Institute (or KEPRI). This paper shows that measurement system for performance testing of heat pump water heater is established and heating capacity and performance is analyzed and measured for out-door environmental change.

전기히터식 및 지열원 히트펌프식 농산물 열풍건조기의 에너지 성능 비교 (Energy Performance Comparison of Electric Heater and Geothermal Source Heat Pump type Agricultural Hot Air Dryers)

  • Energy performance of electric heater and geothermal source heat pump type hot air dryers are compared in this study. For set temperatures of $30^{\circ}C$, $35^{\circ}C$ and $40^{\circ}C$, radish is dried from initial mass 60 kg until it gets 5 kg, where the difference equals the amount of water removed. As set temperature is increased, drying time is shortened for both electric heater and heat pump types, however energy efficiency is decreased due to increasing electricity consumption. Moisture extraction rate(MER) of electric heater is 2.58~2.84 kg/h, and for heat pump type 2.56~2.71 kg/h, showing little difference between the two types. Specific moisture extraction rate (SMER) of electric heater is 0.94~0.96 kg/kWh, and for heat pump type 1.72~2.21 kg/kWh. SMER of heat pump type is greater by 0.78~1.25 kg/kWh than the electric heater hot air dryer, which is 1.8~2.3 times better in terms of energy efficiency.

가연물 접촉에 따른 전기히터의 화재위험성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Fire Risk of Electric Heaters According to Contact of Flammable Materials)

  • 본 연구에서는 대표적인 계절용기기인 전기히터에 대하여 발화위험성을 평가하였다. 실험에는 2종류의 전기히터가 사용되었다. 전기히터 가동 시 히터 표면 및 주변의 온도변화를 측정하였으며, 내부 비파괴검사를 통하여 전기히터 내부구조를 파악하였다. 전기히터 화재원인 중 가장 높은 비율을 차지하는 가연물 근접방치에 의한 화재위험성을 평가하였다. 또한 전도 안전스위치 오작동에 의한 발화위험성을 평가하였다. 정상작동 시 전기히터 발열제 주위에서 온도가 $80^{\circ}C$ 이하로 유지되었다. 전기히터 가동 중 가연물 낙하 등으로 인하여 히터를 덮거나 안전장치(전도안전스위치, 과열방지장치)의 오작동 등에 의해 발화위험성이 상존하고 있다.

하이브리드 제상 방식을 적용한 냉장고용 핀-관 열교환기의 제상 성능 평가 (Performance Evaluation of the Hybrid Defrost Process in the Fin-Tube Evaporators of Refrigerators)

  • The hybrid defrost process combined with hot-gas bypass defrost and electric heater defrost was experimentally evaluated about its defrost performance in the fin-tube evaporators of household refrigerators. Also the hybrid defrost process was compared with only electric heater defrost process. The defrost efficiency of the hybrid defrost process was shown two times higher than electric heater defrost process. The defrost time of the hybrid defrost process was shorten about 10%~50% than electric heater defrost process. Thermal shock after defrost process was decreased about 50% for the case of the hybrid defrost. It was found that energy consumption ratio of defrost process was reduced up to 7.4% compared with 22.4% of electric heater defrost at the condition of $25^{\circ}C$ ambient temperature.

  • Energy saving electric fan heater that uses driving part as heating part is different from general fan heater. As it uses energy that drives rotor and generate heat at the same coil. it is simpler and cheaper than fan heater. In this study, shaded-pole motor that is low cost and simple in spite of low efficiency was used for th fan heater.

FPD 장비 습식공정에서의 안전한 히터 공급 계통도 및 제어 회로 (Safety Schematic Diagram and Sequence of Heater in FPD Wet Equipment)

  • FPD(Flat Panel Display) WET(습식) 장비의 히터 사용은 필수로 사용된다. 히터 사용에 따른 단선과 과열로 인한 전기사고가 다발하여 안전적인 전기 계통도 및 인터락이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 FPD WET장비에 들어가는 전기 계통도 및 인터락을 제안하였다. 레벨센서, 과열방지기, SSR heater sink와 같은 하드웨어 인터락을 넣었으며, 전기 계통도로써는 ELB-MC-SSR-EOCR-Heater로 구성되어 있다. 인터락 발생시 마그네틱 컨텍터(MC)가 오프되어 Heater의 전원을 차단하는 방식이다. 전기적 과전류 보호장치인 EOCR 과전류, 부족전류, 단선 체크를 하면서 히터에 이상 있을 시 MC를 차단하는 인터락이 구성되어 있다. 이러한 회로 구성 및 인터락은 WET 장비 뿐만 아니라 히터가 들어가는 어떠한 장비에도 유용할 것으로 보인다.

  • In this study, We have discussed the development of a diagnostic device to detect and prevent electrical fire due to the arc caused by contact failure and partial disconnection at the connection part of the three-phase electric heater wiring used in the industrial field. The arc caused by contact failure and partial disconnection at the connection part of the electric heater shows a change in the current effective value. Therefore, it is possible to determine whether there exists a defect by analyzing the current unbalance factor and the number of current fluctuations with the diagnostic apparatus. The three-phase unbalanced heater is considered to be capable of determining defects through periodic measurement and trend analysis of the current unbalance factor. It is also expected that this device can be used not only for electric heaters but also for detection of defects in wiring and connections of electrical equipment having a characteristic of constant load current.
