Purpose: The purpose of this study is to estimate the life time of OLED TV panel through electric current ADT(Accelerated Degradation Test). Methods: We performed accelerated degradation test for OLED TV Panel at the room temperature to avoid high temperature impact on the luminance. Results: we got more accurately the life time of the OLED TV when we applied ADT without temperature factor than including both current and temperature. Conclusion: Until now, the ADT of the OLED TV has been conducted with temperature and current at the same time for reducing test time and costs. We estimate incorrect life time when the temperature is adopted as an accelerated factor. Due to the high temperature impact on the luminance of the OLED TV panel. So as to solve this problem, we discard temperature and use electric current only.
There are many engineering applications that demand settling acceleration and volume reduction of fine solid suspensions. It is a matter to Improve the dredged soil thickening as well as the dewatering characteristic, because settling acceleration of dredged soil decreases the scale of industrial process and volume reduction of dredged soil decreases environmetal challenge to the disposal sites. Direct electric current induces the movement of fine solid particles suspended in water. Upon formation of a soil structure, the current further induces the movement of water and contaminant in the soil skeleton. Theses phenomena are known as electrokinetics. This study investigates the viability, of using the technique of electrokinetic dewatering to river dredged soil for settling acceleration and volume reduction. The aspect, such as sedimentation velocity, final volume and current variation are discussed.
As part of the green growth, The Green Car has attracted wide attention. Types of the Green Car are Electric Vehicle, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle, Hybrid Electric Vehicle, Fuel Cell Vehicle and Clean Diesel Vehicle. Of these, The electric vehicle is equipped with the BDU(Battery Disconnecting Unit). BDU is supplying stable battery power and blocking it to protect electrical system of the electric vehicle. The BDU consists of electric components such as current sensor, fuse and pre-charge resistor. These must pass Voltage withstand test, Salt mist test, Thermal shock test, Vibration test and Short-circuit test commonly to verify reliability of the electric components. In addition, The current sensor should be verified whether normal operation. The breaking capacity of fuse should be verified. The durability of pre-charge resistor should be verified by supplying battery power and blocking it repeatedly. The reliability of BDU as well as the electric vehicle is secured by verifying the reliability of electric components. In addition, It will contribute to the acceleration and promotion of Green Car Technology.
This paper dealt with the performance evaluation and the diagnostic techniques of lightning arresters for DC electric traction vehicle. Field Measurements on the protective operation of lightning arresters against surge currents were carried out on running vehicles to acquire the data necessary for the diagnosis. The frequency and the magnitude of surge events were analyzed. Surge currents of $1\sim3$ times were recorded in one running service route and their magnitudes were ranges of $150A\sim2kA$. Also, an acceleration experiment on a lightning arrester by the standard lightning impulse current of 8/20 us and 5 kA was performed to know the aging characteristics. After the surge current application of 3,000 times, the reference voltage decreased by 4.5 %, and the leakage current was below 10 uA at the continuous operating voltage and about 50 uA at the rated voltage. From the experimental results, we propose a decision level of leakage current for the arrester used in this paper and designed an arrester tester which analyzes arrester condition by the magnitude of leakage current.
In this paper, we suppose a fuzzy logic controller for cruise control of vehicle. Generally, fuzzy logic controller is known as a controller which can be coped with a non-linear and a complex system. The proposed fuzzy logic controller consists of three input variables; that is, a desired speed, a current vehicle speed, and a current acceleration, and one output variable, throttle angle. The supposed fuzzy logic controller is for engine speed control system is implemented on 80586 microprocessor with DT-2801.
In this paper, an LPM controller using microprocessor was implemented and adopted Microstep method to control the LPW. In Microstep method, current waveform is sinusoidal not square. This method is characterized by less vibrating, less noisy, and more precise position control. Also, we simulate the static thrust characteristics for each waveform. The experiment was performed according to the mechanical vibration at the acceleration mode and slewing mode. The current tracks reference sinusoidal waveform well and stability was improved as we expected. Therefore, the possibility of the open loop position control was proposed.
This paper presents the circuit arrangement and effective control method of regenerative energy storage system for an electric vehicle using super-capacitors as the braking energy storage element. A bi-directional controlled current flow of the DC-DC converters with the capacitor bank is connected in parallel with battery, and is controlled so that the whole of the braking energy is effectively absorbed into the capacitors and released back to the electric motor upon acceleration. The converter needs the series-parallel switching circuit for making the best use of the series capacitors and for limiting the step-up ratio of the boost converter. The proposed methods are verified by computer simulation and experimental set-up. They are usefully applied to the electric vehicles such as green cars, electric motorcycles, bike, etc which are power- supplied by the electric batteries.
In this talk we outline the current understanding of solar flares, mainly focusing on magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) processes. A flare causes plasma heating, mass ejection, and particle acceleration which generates high-energy particles. The key physical processes producing a flare are: the emergence of magnetic field from the solar interior to the solar atmosphere (flux emergence), formation of current-concentrated areas (current sheets) in the corona, and magnetic reconnection proceeding in a current sheet to cause shock heating, mass ejection, and particle acceleration. A flare starts with the dissipation of electric currents in the corona, followed by various dynamic processes that affect lower atmosphere such as the chromosphere and photosphere. In order to understand the physical mechanism for producing a flare, theoretical modeling has been develops, where numerical simulation is a strong tool in that it can reproduce the time-dependent, nonlinear evolution of a flare. In this talk we review various models of a flare proposed so far, explaining key features of individual models. We introduce the general properties of flares by referring observational results, then discuss the processes of energy build-up, release, and transport, all of which are responsible for a flare. We will come to a concluding viewpoint that flares are the manifestation of the recovering and ejecting processes of a global magnetic flux tube in the solar atmosphere, which has been disrupted via interaction with convective plasma while rising through the convection zone.

An assessment of a novel laser-electric hybrid propulsion system was conducted, in which a laser-induced plasma was induced through laser beam irradiation onto a solid target and accelerated by electrical means instead of direct acceleration only by using a laser beam. A fundamental study of newly developed rectangular laser-assisted pulsed-plasma thruster (PPT) was conducted. On discharge characteristics and thrust performances with increased peak current compared to our previous study to increase effects of electromagnetic forces on plasma acceleration. Maximum peak current increased for our early study by increasing electromagnetic effects in a laser assisted PPT. At 8.65 J discharge energy, the maximum current reached about 8000 A. Plasma behaviors emitted from a thruster in various cases were observed with an ICCD camera. It was shown that the plasma behaviors were almost identical between low and high voltage cases in initial several hundred nanoseconds, however, plasma emission with longer duration was observed in higher voltage cases. Canted current sheet structures were also observed in the higher voltage cases using a larger capacitor. With a newly developed torsion-balance type thrust stand, thrust performances of laser assisted PPT could be estimated. The impulse bit and specific impulse linearly increased. On the other hand, coupling coefficient and the thrust efficiency did not increase linearly. The coupling coefficient decreased with energy showing maximum value (20.8 ?Nsec/J) at 0 J, or in a pure laser ablation cases. Thrust efficiency first decreased with energy from 0 to 1.4 J and then increased linearly with energy from 1.4 J to 8.6 J. At 8.65 J operation, impulse bit of 38.1 ?Nsec, specific impulse of 3791 sec, thrust efficiency of 8 %, and coupling coefficient of 4.3 ?Nsec/J were obtained.
