  • Urban transit vehicle that uses electrical energy, is faster, safer and energy-efficient public transit than other means. As a Research method, the Matlab/Simulink are used to modeling a regenerative brake-capable train, and actual parameters such as powering and braking characteristics, all kinds of resistance, passenger load, velocity, gradient, radius of curve etc and powering and breaking commands per time or distance are inputted to train's dynamic equation, then a simulation program is made and used to yield train driving pattern and driving time and the amount of driving energy used thereby at auto and manual operation and at all sector.

  • This paper deals with optimum design of surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor (SPMSM) for automotive component. For a compact system structure, it was designed as a motor with a 14-pole 12-slot concentrated winding and hollow shaft. The motor is a thin type structure which stator outer diameter is relatively large compared to its axial length and is designed to have a high magnetic saturation for increasing the torque density. Since the high magnetic saturation in the stator core increases the axial leakage flux, a 3-dimensional (3-D) finite element analysis (FEA) is indispensable for torque analysis. However, optimum designs using 3-D FEA is inefficient in terms of time and cost. Therefore, equivalent 2-D FEA which is able to consider axial leakage flux is applied to the optimization to overcome the disadvantages of 3-D FEA. The structure for cost reduction is proposed and optimum design using equivalent 2-D FEA has been performed.

이중 주차된 차량을 이동하기 위한 로봇에 관한 연구 (A Study on a Robot for Moving a Double-parked Car)

  • A double-parked car is the one that is parked in a crowded parking lot with its transmission gear in neutral position and its auxiliary brake released. A double-parked car can be moved by pushing it but doing so is very difficult and dangerous. In a previous study, we proposed an omni-directional mobile robot for moving a double parked car. In that study we adopted Mecanum wheels. Even though the proposed robot showed successful results, it has some drawbacks such as dependency on a load condition, complexity in control, inefficiency in power use, etc. To overcome those drawbacks, we propose a differential drive robot with ordinary two tire wheels. The proposed robot consists of two parts, one is a wheel part and the other is a body part. By selectively connecting or disconnecting those two parts with the aid of an electric brake, the proposed robot is able to have omni-directional mobility.

극 저속 전동기용 관측기 및 제동 토크 제어 기술 (The Extreme Low Speed Motor Observer and Brake Torque Control Technologies)

  • 영구자석형 동기전동기에 벡터제어를 적용하여 정지시까지 전기제동을 하였으며, 속도검출기는 레졸바를 사용하여 제어기에서 관측자에 의한 위치와 속도를 추정하는 방식을 제안하였다. 또한, 정지직전의 극저속에서 속도에 의한 제동 토오크를 제어하는 방법으로 정지시까지 전기제동을 하였다. 그 결과 제륜자의 소모율 저감과 유지보수성을 증대시키고 소음 및 분진발생의 저감, 승차감과 에너지 사용효과를 향상시켜 전동차의 성능을 향상 시켰음을 알 수 있었다.

6속 자동변속기 밸브바디의 윤활오일유량 분배 특성 연구 (A Study on the Lubrication Flow Distribution in a Six-speed Automatic Transmission Valve Body)

  • In general, a valve body of the automatic transmission(AT) is controlled by the clutch, the brake and lubricating oil flow in a hydraulic system and lubricant flow for each valve can be adjusted independently. To increase the lifetime of AT, the lubrication flow rate in a valve body for a 6 speed AT based parallel hybrid electric vehicle must be provided with proper oil distribution and control. In this study, we carried out several experiments without the inner parts of AT and with a AT assembly. The variation of the flow rate on oil temperature and pressure between an oil supply port and the outlets of the lubrication port was evaluated and analyzed. In the case of AT without the inner parts, it was evident that as the oil required for an operation of the clutch and brake was discharged from the outlet port, the flow rate from each lubrication port is decreased. However, the flow rate of the AT assembly was slightly increased. In addition, the lubrication flow rate was increased with increasing the oil temperature, and also it was reduced with increasing the oil pressure. Details of the resulting data are discussed.

  • The automotive market has recently been investing much time and costs in improving existing technologies such as ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and TCS (Traction Control System) and developing new technologies. Additionally, various methods have been applied and developed to reduce this. Among them, the development method using the simulation has been mainly used and developed. In this paper, we have studied a method to develop SILS (Software In the Loop Simulation) for TCS which can test various environment variables under the same conditions. We modeled hardware (vehicle engine and ABS module) and software (control logic) of TCS using MATLAB/Simulink and Carsim. Simulation was performed on the climate, road surface, driving course, etc. to verify the TCS logic. By using SILS to develop TCS control logic and controller, it is possible to verify before production and reduce the development period, manpower and investment costs.

  • 본 논문에서는 공기제동의 문제점을 보완하기 위한 유지보수와 환경문제, 효율성, 경제성 등을 개선하기 위하여 정지에서 고속영역까지의 전 영역에서 전기제동을 사용하는 방법이 제시되었다. 전기적으로 완전제동을 위한 2가지 방법으로 인버터 출력전압의 증대에 의한 방법과 전동기와 인버터 사이에 직렬저항을 삽입하는 방법을 통하여 경제적이며 실제 적용이 가능한 제어방법인 직렬저항을 삽입하는 방법을 적용하기로 하였다. 직렬저항에 의한 전력손실을 감소시키기 위한 직렬저항을 단락 하는 방법을 사용하여 효율을 개선하고 전 영역에서의 제동력확보는 실험환경 내에서 우수한 인버터의 단자전압을 상승시키는 방법과 동일한 특성을 보였다.

전기자동차용 기계적 에너지 회생장치 (Kinetic Energy Recovery System for Electric Vehicles)

  • This paper presents a new regenerative brake system of electric vehicles that employs a continuous variable transmission(CVT) and a flywheel. The developed device has advantages over existing regenerative brakes from a standpoint of reliability and versatility in actual driving conditions. The system consists of a CVT, two wheels, a flywheel, a coupling and auxiliary powertrain components. The CVT is designed as a combination of two cones and a roller, which causes the velocity difference between the wheel and the flywheel. The power flow of the flywheel system is controlled by the CVT roller and the coupling through step motors. A prototype has been developed and then its performance has been investigated for various operating conditions. Results show that the storage efficiency of the flywheel is much affected by the vehicle's velocity and it is reduced below 20% for high speed, as compared to the 25% efficiency for an ideal condition. The CVT is a primary factor for lowering the flywheel efficiencies due to large friction and slipping between the cone and the roller.

Hybrid artificial bee colony-grey wolf algorithm for multi-objective engine optimization of converted plug-in hybrid electric vehicle

  • The paper proposes a hybrid approach of artificial bee colony (ABC) and grey wolf optimizer (GWO) algorithm for multi-objective and multidimensional engine optimization of a converted plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. The proposed strategy is used to optimize all emissions along with brake specific fuel consumption (FC) for converted parallel operated diesel plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV). All emissions particulate matter (PM), nitrogen oxide (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO) and hydrocarbon (HC) are considered as optimization parameters with weighted factors. 70 hp engine data of NOx, PM, HC, CO and FC obtained from Oak Ridge National Laboratory is used for the study. The algorithm is initialized with feasible solutions followed by the employee bee phase of artificial bee colony algorithm to provide exploitation. Onlooker and scout bee phase is replaced by GWO algorithm to provide exploration. MATLAB program is used for simulation. Hybrid ABC-GWO algorithm developed is tested extensively for various values of speeds and torque. The optimization performance and its environmental impact are discussed in detail. The optimization results obtained are verified by real data engine maps. It is also compared with modified ABC and GWO algorithm for checking the effectiveness of proposed algorithm. Hybrid ABC-GWO offers combine benefits of ABC and GWO by reducing computational load and complexity with less computation time providing a balance of exploitation and exploration and passes repeatability towards use for real-time optimization.
