Effectiveness of Evaluation for Visiting Care Service Institution: From the User's Point of View (방문요양서비스 기관 평가의 효과성 : 이용자 관점에서)

  • The purpose of this study is to confirm the effectiveness of the evaluation of long-term care insurance visiting care service institutions for the elderly from the user's point of view. To this end, data from a survey of 266 users collected through allocation sampling by region(14 cities and counties) in Jeollabuk-do and public data from 47 institutions were combined and analyzed using a multi-layered model. The main research results are as follows. First, among the five evaluation areas, the higher the score in the 'Rights·Responsibility' area, which is to give users a sense of rights and respect users, the higher the service quality and satisfaction. Second, among the five evaluation areas, the 'Rights·Responsibility' area had an effect on loyalty. In addition, it was found that the 'Outcome' area for satisfaction with institutions and employees and changes in users had an effect on loyalty. Third, it was found that 'Institutional Management', 'Environment·Safety', 'Process' did not affect service quality, satisfaction, and loyalty. Based on these results, it is proposed to reorganize the evaluation scale that users can recognize and that is faithful to the purpose.

Analysis the of User's Needs for Developing a Mobile Health Based Lifestyle Care Application for Health Promotion among the Elderly (장노년층 건강증진을 위한 모바일 헬스 기반 라이프스타일 케어 앱의 사용자 요구도 분석)

  • Objective : Recently, the demand for wearable mobile devices for the monitoring and improvement of one's health and quality of life is increasing. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the need of potential users in order to develop mobile health based and lifestyle care application for the elderly. Methods : Participants who lived in their community and used a mobile phone were recruited. Finally, a total of 84 participants completed the survey. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a t-test, which was carried out with SPSS version 25.0. Results : The application functions that users deemed important for a lifestyle care app were the number of daily steps, physical activity, blood pressure, sleep, nutrition and participation in activity. Interestingly, there was a significant difference in the importance given to the app function of participation in activities between age groups. Conclusion : This study investigated the need and preferences of potential users of health and lifestyle care application for the promotion of health among the elderly. The, findings obtained from this study could be a valuable resource for the development of lifestyle care application.

A Study on the Kiosk UI Reflecting the Elderly's Characteristics (고령자의 특성을 반영한 패스트푸드점 키오스크 UI 연구)

  • This study was conducted to improve the use experience of elderly people in fast food kiosks which are actively utilizing 'un-tact' technology. First, the Kiosk design analysis criteria were discussed through literature research. Then, the UI screens of McDonald's, Lotteria and Burger King, which are currently serving kiosks in Korea, were divided into colors, layouts and buttons. Next, the usability evaluation and survey of the elderly revealed problems with the interface design of the current kiosk. As a result, older people do not recognize buttons without an outline as buttons, and errors occur when layout changes or when viewing is complicated. In addition, horizontal navigation and vertical layout menus were error-free, and the design of buttons was error-free with the same color for the same function. Research shows that the Kiosk UI design is preferred by older people. First, buttons in the form of outline or solid are recommended. Second, vertical binding of buttons combined with images and text is recommended. Third, the screen layout should be consistent with the direction of view flow and manipulation, and should avoid increasing the number of menus and information. Fourth, page navigation is recommended in horizontal form and menu arrangement is vertical form. Finally, buttons that perform the same function are efficient for buttons to use the same color, and for different functions, applying a complementary colors can reduce confusion.

Changes in the Health Life of the Elderly Through the Handle Height of Walking Assistant Vehicle Article : Emphasizing on State Anxiety, Heart Rate and Fall Efficacy (보행보조차 손잡이 높이에 따른 노인들의 건강생활의 변화 : 상태불안과 심박수, 낙상효능감을 중심으로)

  • Purpose of this study is to analyze the changes in state anxiety, heart rate, and fall efficacy of the elderly through the handle height of walking assistant vehicle (WAV). The subjects were 32 elderlies. WAV was in the form of strollers, and it's handle height was set as 48% of a subject's total height. Also, it's height was divided into 48, 43, 38%. To measure the state anxiety, Korean State-Trait Anxiety Inventory was used and to measure the heart rate, Fitbit Charge 2 wrist heart rate monitor was used. To measure the fall efficacy, Fall Efficacy Scale-Korea was used. As the results of state anxiety and heart rate, the statistically significant increase showed continuously through the decrease of the handle height of WAV. As the results of fall efficacy, the statistically significant decrease showed continuously through the decrease of the handle height of WAV. In all of the post hoc test, the results of the state anxiety and fall efficacy showed significant difference among the each handle height of WAV and the results of the heart rate showed significant difference between the 48, 43% and 38% handle height of WAV. Thus, to decrease the state anxiety and heart rate and increase the fall efficacy of the elderly, the handle height of WAV should be properly positioned and considered to adjust to 48% of the user's total height.

  • The future population of Korea is expected to reach the second highest level in the world by 2060 for the elderly. It is because of the rapid development of low fertility and medical technology. The burden of society for the elderly is expected to increase steadily. The elderly person firstly appears functional disorder. They have low ability in memory and in cognitive will be. Their activities are therefore limited. And economic production capacity is sharply reduced. Self-sufficiency is a difficult situation. They need help in economic and social aspects. Products for them need research and development. The elderly have a Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI) stage with poor cognitive abilities. It is effective to combine pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment methods for people with mild cognitive impairment. The effects of non-pharmacological treatments on music have been proven. This paper is a study on the appearance from the viewpoint of design in the development of ancillary instruments using music therapy techniques with Digital Convergence. For this study, we investigated the preference for external appearance of mild cognitive impairment. Two times surveys were conducted. As a result, the design of home care product for the hard cognitive impaired was different from that of a conventional game machine or set top box. It should be designed according to the user's special circumstances. They are memory and cognitive abilities. Products that meet physical and mental changes must be developed.

  • Content services for silver users on the ubiquitous technologies are getting attention as a new business model, monitoring users in real-time on the real-world and/or cyber-world. A lot of business and service model have been developed to apply silver or elder user. This study explained a state-of-the-art silver IT service to innovative services for users, ranging from home and finance to support for healthcare and living. Due to the variation of subtle terminologies, this study was conducted to restructure an adaptive terminology including some definitions. Current silver IT service model has been evaluated from the technical, functional, and business analyst, and its suitability has also been expressed in a proposed model and service. The purpose of this study was to propose a systematic approach of new IT service business model for silver users. A proposed model was described to explain the feasibility of the silver IT industry.

  • In this research, a chair type game controller has been developed. We implement pressure sensors on a chair so that user's whole body movements can be signalized. The signals linked to a game system. This process occurs a meaningful exercise effect. Because users can play exergame setting on the chair type game controller, it is reduces risk of physical injury such as falling down and the Joint pressure compared existing exergame controllers. Based on the advantages of seating, elderly and obese can be provided appropriate exergame.

  • 현대사회와 미래사회는 가속화되어지는 IT기술에 의해서 융합되어진 작업의 효율 및 성능의 발전이 이슈화되고 있다. 따라서 1990년대부터는 군사 및 재활분야와 함께 제조업 및 유통업 등 전반적인 산업 모두에서 근력보조기구에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 과거에는 일반인이 무거운 짐을 운반하는 것을 완전한 로봇이 대체하거나 몸이 불편한 사회적 약자가 휠체어 및 지팡이 또는 전동 휠체어와 같은 보조 개념이 아닌 완전한 대체의 개념을 가지고 있었다. 그러나 웨어러블이 대두됨에 따라 기계와 인체가 합쳐지는 상호작용 근력보조기구가 탄생했다. 근력보조기구는 힘/토크 센서를 통한 인간과 로봇간의 상호작용에 의해 인간의 다양한 상지 및 하지 동작을 구현할 수 있는 근력 강화용 웨어러블 로봇 등이 있다.

The Study of Exploration of the User & the Physical Components of Outpatients' Waiting Areas in General Hospital (인간 행위분석을 통한 종합병원 외래환자 대기실에 관한 연구)

  • Among the building types in which behavioral issues play, the largest role are institutional environments. Such setting share a number of important characteristics ; they serve specific population (e.g. the ill, the elderly , '||'&'||' inmates) : they are directed toward specific social behavioral objectives(e.g medical care, education , '||'&'||' rehabilitation); and they are "Total institution" in which residents spend all of there time. The basic concepts and theories of environment-behavior studies are of direct relevance in understanding such social institutions. In this study, I have examined the relationships between waiting and the specific conditions of the hospital experience. More specifically, this is a study of visitors (outpatient) within the context of the hospital , and the physical setting designated for their use in the outpatient waiting room. Environment behavior studies, with its commitment to individual behavior and the physical environment might well be a particularly way by which a study of waiting rooms can demonstrate the power of this approach and its integrative among disciplines.

  • This paper describes the control of a health care robot (called Welfare Liferobot) with voice commands. The welfare liferobot is an intelligent autonomous mobile robot with its own control system on-board and the set of sensors to perceive an environment. It is a natural way to control the welfare liferobot by use of voice command for the usage of keyboard and mouse may present a difficult problem to the elderly and the handicapped.
