The Effectiveness of the Use of Distance-Evaluation Tools and Methods among Students with Learning-Difficulties from the Teachers' Point of View

  • This study aimed to identify the effectiveness of the use of distance-evaluation tools and methods among students with learning difficulties from the teachers' point of view, to achieve this goal. A scale was built, and the psychometric characteristics were validated. It consisted, in its final form, of 17 items distributed on four axes, in addition to three open questions. It was applied to a random sample of (149) teachers of students with learning difficulties in Makkah Region. The results showed that teachers' keenness to encourage students with learning difficulties, so that they would not feel frustrated with the distance learning process. It was also evident that teachers did not use achievement portfolios in the evaluation process. In connection with the appropriate evaluation methods, the majority indicated the use of work sheets and visual evaluation methods that rely on audio and visual skills, such as presenting videos, pictures, audio and games, and applying short objective tests. Among the proposals to improve evaluation methods and tools: Individual evaluation, attention to individual treatment, obligating personal attendance of students to school, splitting the required tasks, and not increasing the skills required to be mastered. As for the obstacles that teachers face: Lack of time, difficulty in communicating with students with distance learning difficulties and problems related to the Internet such as interruption, weakness, or lack of availability.

A Study on the Effectiveness and Improvement of Simulation Training for Apprentice Officers

  • In accordance with the stipulations of the STCW Convention, simulation training has been enforced in order to develop practical skills so as to prevent accidents by predetermining the risks in special marine environments. Simulation training is a useful way to acquire navigation abilities, and can continuously measure the ability of a trainee by applying an appropriate evaluation. However, the result of training is evaluated by the instructor's subjective judgment without quantitative criteria. Therefore, this study aims to quantitatively evaluate the effectiveness of simulation training. For this purpose, evaluation items were derived by analyzing legal standards, earlier studies, and the current status of MET institutions. The simulations were then performed three times in the same scenarios and analyzed the results. As a result, it has been shown that the objectively analyzed ability to keep the route and to make safe passage with other vessel, as well as subjectively evaluated ability by the apprentice officer has been improved as training progressed. Through the evaluation of simulation training results, it can be derived that simulation education needs supplementation, and can be provided as a basic form of data to quantify the evaluation results of the simulation training in the future.

The paper starts from the probabilistic modeling of the errors, and based on this model, a detailed explanation of protectability calculation for each zone of the distance relay is presented. An effect of the Weighting Rate and the Measurement Deviation on the protectability evaluation is also given. By considering this effect, the optimization of relay setting can be realized. The proposed method is applied to a typical model system to show its effectiveness

3차원 가상착의를 활용한 방호복 평가 (Evaluation of Protective Clothing Using 3D Virtual Fitting)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the patterns of D level protective clothing, improve their ease of movement by modifying the patterns, and validate the effectiveness of the improvements through 3D virtual fitting and subjective wearing evaluations. Based on previous studies that identified numerous complaints, the patterns of the neck, armpit, and waist areas were modified, resulting in the development of new patterns. To compare and analyze the improved protective clothing with the basic protective clothing, stress and strain were examined after 3D virtual fitting. Additionally, to assess the clothing's allowance, the overall distance between the avatar and the protective clothing, as well as the sectional circumference length and distance of each avatar body part, were measured. Furthermore, the improved protective clothing was manufactured, and a subjective wearing evaluation was conducted with ten males in their twenties as participants. The results showed that the improved protective clothing had evenly distributed stress, larger sectional circumference, and lower average cavity distance. The subjective wearing evaluation also revealed that the suit with improved patterns exhibited superior size suitability, reduced pulling sensation in different body parts, and increased ease of movement. In conclusion, this study confirmed that even minimal pattern modifications can enhance the functionality of protective clothing, alleviating discomfort for wearers.

  • 자기공명영상 검사 시, 거리조절 두부 전용 코일을 사용할 경우 환자의 체격이 크거나 의료기구의 사용 등으로 거리를 증가시켜야 하는 경우 환자에게 불편함을 주지 않고 양질의 신호를 가진 영상을 얻을 수 있을 것이라고 사료 된다.

The Psychometric Properties of Effectiveness Scale in Distance-Digital

  • This study intended to test the structure of the latent factor of an effectiveness scale and the stability of invariance across groups of students' classifications (gender and levels of education). In the large, non-clinical sample (850), students completed the effectiveness scale. The (CFA) confirmatory factor analysis was used to investigate the factor-structure of the measure, and multiple-group confirmatory factor analysis (MGCFA) model was used to test the stability of invariance across groups of students' classifications. The findings of the CFA indicated support for the original four-factor model. Additional analyses of the MGCFA method support the measurement (configural, metric and strong) invariant and practical invariant components of this model. There was an invariant across gender. There was partially invariant across groups of levels of education. The scale exists in groups of levels of education assess the same concepts of, excluding Items 15 and 10. Given that this study is the first investigation for the structure of the effectiveness scale.

공동주택에서 SPD의 리드선 길이 및 보호거리에 대한 영향 평가 (Evaluation of the Impacts of SPD Connecting Lead Lengths and SPD Protection Distance to the Apparatus in Apartments)

  • The proper installation of SPD and the evaluation of the SPD protection distance are basic steps for the effective protection measures of apparatus against surges within a structure. A novel method for installing SPD on the conventional distribution board without any modification was proposed and it's effectiveness was evaluated by experiments. Also, the transient overvoltage occurred across the power line from the SPD to the load was simulated with EMTP software to see how different the protection distances affecting the magnitude of the transient overvoltage. As evaluated, the effective protection method of apparatus against surges, coordinated SPD protection system is suggested as a proper measure to protect within the apartment.

콘텐츠 품질 향상을 위한 교원연수 이러닝 콘텐츠 분석 (Analysis of e-Learning Contents in Distance Teacher Training for Quality Improvement)

  • 본 연구에서는 교원 원격 연수의 연수 효과 제고를 위해 총 67종의 이러닝 콘텐츠에 대해 품질을 분석하였다. 분석결과 '연수 내용' 영역이 가장 품질이 높은 것으로 나타났으며 '교수 설계', '교수학습 전략', '평가', '상호 작용' 순이었다. '교수학습 전략', '평가', '상호 작용'은 품질인증 기준인 80점 미만의 점수를 나타내 이에 대한 개선이 필요한 것으로 나타났다. 인증된 콘텐츠와 부적합 콘텐츠 간의 품질 수준차이 분석에서는 '교수 설계', '교수학습 전략', '평가' 평가 영역 순으로 효과크기(ES)가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 평가 요인분석에서는 '화면구성', '교수학습 전략 선정' 등의 대부분의 평가 요인이 효과크기가 큰 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 원격 연수를 위한 이러닝 콘텐츠 개발에서 어느 부분을 개선해야하는지 시사점을 제공할 수 있을 것으로 본다.

시소러스의 연관성 정보를 이용한 문서의 순위 결정 방법 (Document ranking methods using term dependencies from a thesaurus)

  • 최근 시소러스를 기반으로 하는 불리안 검색 시스템에서 문서의 순위 결정에 사용 될 수 있는 Relevance, R-distance, K-distance와 같은 방법들이 개발되었다. 이러한 방법들은 색인어들 사이의 연관성 정보를 이용하여 문서들의 순위를 결정함으로써 많은 경우에 높은 검색 효율을 제공할 지라도, 불리안 연산자 AND, OR, NOT에 대한 연산 방법이 문제점으로 지적되어왔다. 본 논문에서는 개선된 퍼지 집합 모델과 확장된 불리안 모델을 시소러스가 제공하는 색인어들 사이의 연관성 정보를 효율적으로 이용할 수 있도록 확장함으로써, 기존 방법들의 문제점을 극복하는 새로운 순위 결정 방법 KB-FSM과 KB-EBM을 제안한다. 또한 KB-FSM과 KB-EBM이 Relevance, R-distance, K-distance보다 문서들의 순위를 보다 정확하게 결정함을 성능 비교를 통하여 입증한다.
