  • When the perforated plate is under in-plane load of compression, buckling analysis becomes to be necessary because of the presence of stress concentration around holes. To constraint it, we need reinforcement. The methods of reinforcement are attaching doubler around hole and attaching stiffener in the direction of initial stress. In this paper, two methods are investigated mentioned above, which of the two better effective reinforcement. In the consequence of the above investigation, following conclusion was obtained. The method of doubler reinforcement was less buckling stress than that of stiffener because the former had large compressive stress. So, effective method of reinforcement is stiffener reinforcement.

모델 기반의 강세 판정 방법 (Model based Stress Decision Method)

  • This paper proposes an effective decision method focused on evaluating the 'stress position'. Conventional methods usually extract the acoustic parameters and compare them to references in absolute scale, adversely producing unstable results as testing conditions change. To cope with environmental dependency, the proposed method is designed to be model-based and determines the stressed interval by making relative comparison over candidates. The stressed/unstressed models are then induced from normal phone models by adaptive training. The experimental results indicate that the proposed method is promising, and that it is useful for automatic detection of stress positions. The results also show that generating the stressed/unstressed model by adaptive training is effective.

  • Anisotropic behaviour in soils and soft rocks may be either fabric of stress related ultra in practice is invariably a combination of both. Theoretical studies in the paper include tile iMluence oil untrained strength of assuming both the critical state and Mo21r-Coulomb concepts to hold, and the influence of elastic anisotropy oil predicted undrained effective stress paths. 스트레스 인식변화기법의 공군 조종사 적용 효과 (The Effect of Applying Stress Cognitive Alteration Technique to Air Force Pilot)

  • Stress is the main source of a human error or can potentially contribute to it. Recently, the rate of accidents which is associated with human factors among the total aircraft accidents is showing a tendency of gradual increase. In order to prevent the accidents related to human factors, stress mitigation of the mission personnel is highly required. In this study, a 'stress cognitive alteration' technique, which is one of the stress relief methods, is applied to the Air Force pilots to verify if the technique is effective in reducing stress. The 'stress cognitive alteration' technique is comprised of two parts: a positive function of stress and a process to positively alter the physical, psychological response to stress. As a result of the application, it is found that this technique has an effect of reducing stress of the pilots under a relatively high level of stress.

  • Spot welding is a very important and useful technology in fabrication of thin sheet structures such as the parts in an automobile. However, because the fatigue strength of the spot welding point is considerably lower than that of the base metal due to stress concentration at the nugget edge, the nugget size must be estimated to evaluate a reasonable fatigue strength at a spot welded lap joint. So far, many investigators have experimentally studied the estimation of fatigue strengths of various spot weldments by using a destructive method. However, these destructive methods poses problems so testing of weldments by these methods are difficult. Furthermore, these methods cannot be applied to a real product, and are time and cost consuming, as well. Therefore, there has been a strong, continual demand for the development of a nondestructive method for estimating nugget size. In this study, the effective nugget size in spot weldments have been analyzed by using thermoelastic stress analysis adopting infrared thermography. Using the results of the temperature distribution obtained by analysis of the infared stress due to adiabatic heat expansion under sinusoidal wave stresses, the effective nugget size in spot welded specimens were estimated. To examine the evaluated effective nugget size in spot weldments, it was compared with the results of microstructure observation from a 5% Nital etching test.

모관흡수력에 따른 화강풍화토의 유효응력과 전단강도의 관계 (The Relationship Between Effective Stress and Shear Strength of Weathered Granite Soils Based on Matric Suctions)

  • 불포화토를 대상으로 $K_0$ 압밀조건에서 삼축시험을 수행하여 전단강도를 분석하였다. 불포화 삼축압축시험에서는 대구지역에 있는 풍화토 시료를 성형하여 다양한 모관흡수력을 조절하였다. 건조 및 습윤 시 함수특성시험을 수행하여 실험치들을 van Genuchten 곡선으로 모델하였다. 함수특성곡선으로부터 모관흡수력이 유효응력에 기여하는 성분을 평가할 수 있다. 이로부터 유효응력을 산정하였으며 유효응력에 따른 전단강도를 결정하였다. 다양한 모관흡수력에 따른 전단강도는 유효응력으로 기술하였을 때, 유일한 직선으로 나타나며 포화토의 파괴포락선과 일치함을 알 수 있었다.

  • Orthodontic tooth movement is closely related to the stress on the periodontal tissue. In this research the finite element method was used to observe the stress distribution and to find the best condition for effective tooth movement in the case of unilateral molar expansion. The author constructed the model of lower dental arch of average Korean adult and used $.032'\times.032'\times60mm$ TMA wire. The wire was deflected in the horizontal and vertical direction to give the 16 conditions. The following results were obtained ; 1. When the moment and force were controlled properly the movement of anchor tooth was minimized and the movement of moving tooth was maximized. 2. As the initial horizontal deflection increased the buccal displacement of both teeth was also increased. As the initial horizontal deflection increased the lingual movement of anchor tooth and the buccal movement of moving tooth increased. 3. When the initial horizontal and vertical deflection rate was 1.5 the effective movement of moving tooth was observed with minimal displacement of anchor tooth.

7075-T6Al 합금에 있어서 변동하중진폭 하에서의 피로균열성장거동 (Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of 7075-T6Al Alloy under Simple Stepped Variable Amplitude Loading Conditions)

  • An experimental investigation of the fatigue through crack growth behavior under simple stepped variable loading condition has been performed using Al7075-T651. Experiments were carried out by using cantilever bending type specimens, with chevron notches on a small electro-magnetic test machine. Tensile overloads have a retarding effect on the fatigue crack growth rates, therefore tensile overloads were used for the beneficial effect on the fatigue life. While in most cases compressive overloads have only a vanishing effect on crack growth rates, some experiments with single edge crack tension specimens reveal a marked growth retardation. The stress ratios used in this investigations varies from R=0.32 to 0.81, from R=0.04 to 0.76, from R=-0.15 to 0.73, and from R=-0.33 to 0.68 and the peak load for each case was not varied. The crack growth and crack closure were measured by Kikukawa's compliance method with a strain gauge mounted on the backside of each specimens. The results obtained are as follows. When the stepped variable load was applied, the smaller the stress ration was, the larger the delayed retardation of the crack growth rate was. The fatigue crack growh rate data obtained for through cracks were plotted well against the effective stress intensity factor range from 4.0 to 20.0MP{a^{SQRT}m}. It was found that the effective stress intensity factor range ratio was related well to the opening stress intensity factor, the maximum stress intensity factor, and crack length.

용접구조물의 피로설계를 위한 유한요소 해석 및 통합 피로선도 초안 개발 (Finite Element Analysis and Development of Interim Consolidated 5-N Curve for Fatigue Design of Welded Structure)

  • Fatigue design rules for welds in the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessels Code are based on the use of Fatigue Strength Reduction Factors(FSRF) against a code specified fatigue design curve generated from smooth base metal specimens without the presence of welds. Similarly, stress intensification factors that are used in the ASME B3l.1 Piping Code are based on component S-N curves with a reference fatigue strength based on straight pipe girth welds. But the determination of either the FSRF or stress intensification factor requires extensive fatigue testing to take into account the stress concentration effects associated with various types of component geometry, weld configuration and loading conditions. As the fatigue behavior of welded joints is being better understood, it has been generally accepted that the difference in fatigue lives from one type of weld to another is dominated by the difference in stress concentration. However, general finite element procedures are currently not available for effective determination of such stress concentration effects. In this paper, a mesh-insensitive structural stress method is used to re-evaluate the S-N test data, and then more effective method is proposed for pressure vessel and piping fatigue design.

웃음치료가 구안와사환자의 안면마비 회복정도, 통증 및 스트레스에 미치는 효과 (Effects of Laughter Therapy on Recovery Status from Facial Paralysis, Pain and Stress in Bell's palsy Patients)

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify the effects of Laughter therapy on recovery status from facial paralysis, pain, and stress in Bell's palsy patients. Methods: This research was a nonequivalent control group non-synchronized pre-posttest quasi-experimental research design. Data were collected from August 8, to October 15, 2013 at D university Oriental Medical Center in B city. Participants were 60 patients with Bell's palsy who were assigned to one of two groups: an experimental group of 30 patients and a control group of 30 patients. t-test, $x^2-test$, Fisher's exact test and Welth-Aspin test were used to test the homogeneity between the two groups and t-test, Welth-Aspin test and ANCOVA were used to test the research hypotheses. SPSS program was used for statistical analysis. Results: There were significant increases in recovery status from facial paralysis and decreases in stress after Laughter therapy in the experimental group. Conclusion: The results indicate that Laughter therapy is effective in facilitating recovery status from facial paralysis and decreasing stress. Therefore, Laughter therapy can be used as an effective nursing intervention for patients with facial paralysis and to relieve stress in these patients.
