  • The main purpose of this study is to develop an watch duty scheduling focused on Korea Navy Ship, PCC class, in port. The watch duty scheduling is a type of a scheduling problem which both considers the readiness of the ship and fair duty for each person. In this study, we analyzed the personal ability and military occupational speciality and developed a manpower scheduling by using heuristic. We find an efficient and effective watch duty schedule which improved results.

  • In this paper, we propose a method to reduce the amount of current through the Timing Control of the duty cycle and the Report Attribute Control at the MAC Layer in consideration of the Sleep Mode under the IoT wireless environment. The use of a duty cycle is an effective way to reduce energy consumption on wireless sensor networks where the node is placed in sleep mode periodically. In particular, we studied how to control power efficiency through duty rate in Short Transition Time and ACK Time processing while satisfying radio channel limitation criterion. When comparing before and after the improvement considering the delay time constraint, we validated the correlation of the electrical current reduction.

MDA-SMAC: An Energy-Efficient Improved SMAC Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks

  • In sensor medium access control (SMAC) protocol, sensor nodes can only access the channel in the scheduling and listening period. However, this fixed working method may generate data latency and high conflict. To solve those problems, scheduling duty in the original SMAC protocol is divided into multiple small scheduling duties (micro duty MD). By applying different micro-dispersed contention channel, sensor nodes can reduce the collision probability of the data and thereby save energy. Based on the given micro-duty, this paper presents an adaptive duty cycle (DC) and back-off algorithm, aiming at detecting the fixed duty cycle in SMAC protocol. According to the given buffer queue length, sensor nodes dynamically change the duty cycle. In the context of low duty cycle and low flow, fair binary exponential back-off (F-BEB) algorithm is applied to reduce data latency. In the context of high duty cycle and high flow, capture avoidance binary exponential back-off (CA-BEB) algorithm is used to further reduce the conflict probability for saving energy consumption. Based on the above two contexts, we propose an improved SMAC protocol, micro duty adaptive SMAC protocol (MDA-SMAC). Comparing the performance between MDA-SMAC protocol and SMAC protocol on the NS-2 simulation platform, the results show that, MDA-SMAC protocol performs better in terms of energy consumption, latency and effective throughput than SMAC protocol, especially in the condition of more crowded network traffic and more sensor nodes.

수간호사의 리더십 유형과 간호사의 직무만족과의 관계 연구 (The Relationship between Nursing Performance and Leadership Styles of Head Nurses)

  • This study was aimed for effective nursing performance of the nurse to be able dedicate to the development of professional nursing work by understanding correlation between the leadership style of head nurse and the nursing performance of the nurse. The materials have been collected through structured questionnaires for 18 days from Feb. 2, 1999 to Feb. 20 from 234 nurses presently working at 4 hospitals Circumstances aptitude theory of Fleishman (1973) were used as the device of measuring leadership style, and staff nurses nursing performance were done by head nurses utilizing questionnaire adopted from Park. Data was analyzed by frequency, mean, ANOVA, ANCOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficiency by using SPSS program. The results are as follows ; 1. Head nurse leadership was classified in the following manner : duty and human relationships oriented style of head nurse leadership(3.76), human relationship oriented style(3.30), duty leadership oriented style(3.12), and non-interference leadership style(2.77). Duty and human relationships showed highest score in this category. 2. The mean of nursing performance was 3.66, dependent nursing duty was 3.88, interpersonal relationship 3.78, and independent nursing was 3.34. 3. An education course of nursing performance by general characteristics was statistically significant. Job satisfaction, for seen working periods, and motivation for choosing a nursing job of nursing job characteristics was statistically siginficant. 4. As the degree of independence nursing performance increases, the degree and of dependance and interpersonal relationship of nursing performance increases. 5. The relationship between nurse leadership style and nursing performance were statistically different. The degree of duty and human relationship style of the head nurse were highest in dependent and independent nursing performance. Therefore, it is desirable that the head nurse should demonstrate the leadership style high in the duty and human relationships for effective nursing performance.

The Chilling Trade Effects of Provisional Anti-dumping Duties: The Case of Korea

  • Purpose - This study empirically analyzes the effects of provisional anti-dumping duties levied on imports by Korea following anti-dumping investigations. An anti-dumping duty is a legal tool that countries use to impose duties on imports to offset injurious dumping. This study verifies how effective the imposition of a provisional anti-dumping duty is and whether such duties have trade chilling effects on aggregate imports. Specifically, this study examines import trade diversion from named to unnamed countries caused by the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duties. Design/methodology - This empirical analysis employs an econometric model of provisional anti-dumping measures for cases in which Korea imposed final affirmative anti-dumping measures. We construct a monthly panel dataset for each stage of anti-dumping investigation undertaken by Korea for all manufacturing industries during 1995-2013. We illustrate a stage-by-stage analysis of anti-dumping investigations from initiation, preliminary decision, imposition of provisional duty, final affirmative decision, and imposition of final affirmative duty on a monthly basis at the six-digit harmonized system code-level. Findings - For cases in which provisional duties are imposed, the reduction in imports from named countries outweighs the increase in imports from unnamed countries. The substantial reduction in imports from named countries is large enough to offset the import diversion to unnamed countries, suggesting that import diversion in investigations is limited during the investigation period. Therefore, the use of provisional anti-dumping duties in Korea is effective, providing evidence of a chilling effect on aggregate imports. Originality/value - Few studies examine the size of the effects on import trade diversion of the imposition of provisional anti-dumping duties. We contribute to the literature by disentangling separate trade effects for each phase of the anti-dumping investigation process and imposition of provisional duty.

고출력 백색 LED 램프의 구동조건에 따른 온도 및 광 특성 평가 (Evaluation of the Device Temperature and Optical Characteristics in High Power White LED Lamp by Driving Condition)

  • In this paper, the effect of pulse current and generated heat on characteristics of the LED is measured and evaluated. For experiments, the LED driving circuit and digital logic which determines period and duty ratio of lighting are designed. At rated current, the temperature and optical characteristics of the LED with change in duty ratio and period are compared, and those of the LED with change in duty ratio and existence of cooling fan are also compared at constant average current. As a result, frequency does not affect device temperature and optical characteristic of the LED but duty ratio does. Also, the cooling fan is less effective on those of the LED at rated current.

  • This thesis introduce the organization system and office regulation of standardization administrative organization for the change of times, also suggest improvement plan for its effective management. The main improvement plan refer to the standardization administrative organization\`s work, this thesis suggest, 1. Readjustment of national standardization system and effective reorganization for standards information organization. 2. For industrial standards system, the korea industrial standards should be maintained uniform system, So decentralized korea industrial standard at government ,must be unified and maintained to unique policy for its effective improvement. 3. To strengthen with international standards organization, a institutional device, budget funds, and expert should be backed up. 4. For training and education of expert, Refer to the performance of one\`s duty, the proper expert should be chosen and posted. Also, systematic training and education system for expert must be developed, So they can be on duty continuously, Finally, this thesis suggest that the necessity of systematic and unique policy must be established for high position at international area. Since the limitation of data, the future research will be performed for budget funds and personnel setup.

Assessment of Korea's FTAs: Focusing on Trade Remedies Rules

  • Purpose - We assess the trade remedies rules in a host of Korea's FTAs to explore the trade policies for the effective implementation of FTA trade remedies rules. Also we develop the strategies of the future FTA negotiations of trade remedies rules. Design/methodology - After we review the key features of FTA trade remedies rules, we examine whether the rules are WTO-consistent or not. Next, we touch upon the WTO-plus characteristics of some provisions. Our main methodology is to compare the trade remedies rules in the numerous Korea's FTAs. Another methodology is to link those rules to the relevant WTO agreements and WTO dispute cases with a view to drawing lessons for trade policies and FTA negotiations. Findings - We find that most of the trade remedies rules are WTO-consistent. Moreover, we find that notification and consultation requirment, mandatory lesser duty rule, explicit prohibition of zeroing method, and public interest clause are WTO-plus. We also find that there are limitiations in the application of some global safeguard exclusion rules because of their non-mandatory nature. Originality/value - While most of previous studies focus mainly on the unique aspects of specific FTAs, our study analyzes comprehensively the trade remedies rules in the various Korea's FTAs. Based on the comprehensive analysis, we figure out the areas to be clarified and improved for the effective implementation of FTAs and the strategies for the future FTA trade remedies negotiations. As a consequence, our paper is expected to contribute to the academic research on FTA policies as well as the national economy.

간호사의 특성이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향 (A Study of the Degree of Duty Satisfaction According to the Nurses's Characteristics)

  • This study was conducted to analyze the degree of department satisfaction and correlation accordng to nurses's clinical characteristics. Data fors tudy were selected August, 1999. The sample coisted of 512 nurses working in K university hosptal in Seoul. The collected materials have been alyzed by percentage, average, t-test, ANOVA, arson Correlation Coefficiency using SPSS window 8.0 program. The result were as the follows ; 1. Fifty-one percent answered to be satisfactory in current department of work, and nurses who had been experienced the transfer are fifty percent, and nurse specialist is eight point two percent. 2. The order of the degree of department duty satisfaction was mutual action, professinal position, autonomy, assignment desire, relation between the doctor and nurses, wage, administration. 3. The result of the degree of department duty satisfaction according to the age has shown significant differences in administration and assignment desire, and the result of the degree of department duty satisfaction according to the education and religion has shown significant differences in administration, and the result of the degree of department duty satisfaction according to marital status has shown significant differences in wage and administration. 4. The result of the degree of department duty satisfaction according La the position has shown significant differences in administration, assignment desire and the sum of duty satisfaction, and the result of the degree of department duty satisfaction according to the nurse specialist has shown no significant differences in total areas, and the result of the degree of department duty satisfaction according to the transfer has shown significant differences in relation between the doctor and nurses, administration, autonomy and the sum of duty satisfaction. 5. The result of the degree of department duty satisfaction according to the nursing career and present assignment career has shown no significant differences in total areas, and the result of degree of department duty satisfaction according to the present assignment has shown significant differences in relation between doctor and nurses, administration, assignment desire and the sum of duty satisfaction. 6. The result of the degree of department duty satisfaction according to the request and experiences of trasfer has shown significant differences in wage, administration, assignment desire and the sum of duty satisfaction 7. The result of the degree of department duty satisfaction according to the degree of satisfaction of present assignment has shown no significant difference in professional position 8. The result of relation of nurses'a clinical characteristics and the degree of department duty satisfaction and the sum of duty satisfaction has shown no significant differences in age, present assignment career, but the result of nursing career has shown significant differences in relation between doctor and nurse, administration, autonomy, assignment desire and the sum of duty satisfaction. and the satisfaction of present assignment which was very effective on duty satisfaction was as significant correlation with wage, professinal position, relation between doctor and nurses, administration, autonomy assignment desire, mutual action and the sum of duty satisfaction. The above result show us that the degree of wage is effected on marital status, experience of transfer, degree of satisfaction of present assignment, request of transfef and the relation between doctor and nurses is effected on experience of transfer, present assignment, degree of satisfaction of present assignment and the administration is effected on age, education, marital status position, experiences of transfer, request of transfer, degree of satisfaction of present assignment and the autonomy is effected on experience of transfer, degree of satisfaction of present assignment and the assignment desire is effected on position, pre sent assignment, degree of satisfaction of present assignment, request of transfer and the mutual action is effected on present assignment. and the sum of duty satisfaction is effected on marital status, position, experience of transfer, request of transfer, present assignment, degree of satisfaction of present assignment.

  • In recent years, the environmental demage to urban area becomes serious problem due to the exhaust emissions by increasing the number of vehicle. The proportion of diesel vehicle is very high in this country. Exhaust gas emitted from the diesel-powered vehicle is severly affecting to the air quality. In this study, light-duty diesel engine was studied on the improvement of exhaust gas testing method. Therefore the results obtained effective load method among testing method. It is deserve to test of the PM for the environment.
