Educational Needs Related to Home Management Perceived by Secondary Students, Home Economics Teachers, and University Professors. (중.고등학교 가정관리교육내용에 대한 학생, 가정과 교사, 전공교수의 요구도 분석)

  • The purpose of the study were to: (1) determine important home management concepts in the secondary home economics education curriculum, (2) identify the educational needs related to home management perceived by students, home economics teachers, and university professors, (3) identify the factor structure of the home management concepts, (4) use the findings to make recommendations for defining the area of home management in the secondary home economics curriculum. Three versions of the questionnaire were used to assess the needs. One questionnaire was for students, one for home economics teachers, and one for professors. A total of 1,029 students, 385 home economics teachers, and 45 professors responded to the questionnaires. the data were analyzed by using the descriptive statistics, one way ANOVA with scheff -test, and factor analysis. Forty home management concepts were selected based on the related literatures. The respondants perceived these important for the secondary home economics curriculum. However, 36 home management concepts had differences in perceived importance among students, teachers, and professors. Nine factors emerged from the factor analysis. The three factors that were judged of most importance by students were communication and stress management, making money and helping household tasks, and leisure time activities. The professors and teachers perceived decision making and management process and knowing and utilizing resources most important.

  • In this research, we develop 3D online racing game to aid the comprehension about resource recycling, in the way of provoking children's interest and satisfying scientific curiosity, using 3D graphic editor and DirectX programming tool. This game is developed for children to experience the collection and classification procedure of recycling resources by only taking part in a game naturally, and to learn recycling-process contents produced using animation technique. Especially, we make this game to utilize it as an educational and public medium at home and abroad, and to interchange with foreign institutes, by offering korean version as well as english version. As a result, this game can be used as educational contents about resource recycling, because it is developed in the style that children can enjoy it directly.

  • The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development is propelling the establishment's project of school library digital resource room under recognizing school library is essential facility that it is to educate students to become autonomous and creative person, to embodies a 7th curriculum in the knowledge base society. There is a necessity which it will analyze demonstrative operating school library digital resource room for maximize to educational effect and to establish efficiently. Thus, this study is prepares a foundation of school library informationization as analyzes an operational status and an educational effect with 96 school library digital resource room which are established in tool year.

  • As a solution to the wasteful consumption of resources in fashion design, this research aims to develop a process guideline for ZWF Design Methods from an educational perspective. After selecting the Jigsaw Puzzle, Subtraction Cutting, and Layer Methods as representative ZWF Methods, an application experiment was designed to deduct each Method's process, characteristics, needs, and improvement points. Its results were analyzed through action protocol analysis, expert evaluation, and qualitative analysis. Based on the analysis, this research proposed a ZWF guideline and a step-by-step guide suitable to the students' needs. By following the guideline, students can use the chosen ZWF Method to create a planned or an accidental design. In addition, they can practice ZWF effectively step by step in the order of Layer, Jigsaw Puzzle, and Subtraction Cutting. Thus, this research can provide the basis for ZWF education, which can lead to expanded application of ZWF in the future and reduce textile waste.

  • This study aims to identify differences and lessons in eco-school planning techniques and sustainable design methods by analyzing comparatively green building certification system and the cases of sustainable schools in US, Korea and Japan. As a result of the comparative analysis, green building certification system for school facilities, both domestic and international, is categorized into external environment, energy, materials and resources, and indoor environment. From the case study, it is common that roof garden and biotopes are installed for external environment, while energy saving, passive energy utilization methods for natural lighting and ventilation such as arrangement planning, courtyard, top-light, shading devices, solar panel and insulation by roof garden are most frequently used. Also, storm water uses, water saving equipment and sustainable materials are often introduced for resource savings. Concerns for indoor environment is frequently addressed by introducing natural light and ventilation in the buildings, which makes ultimately a comfortable space.

  • Recently, the development of an evaluation method with operational rules have become issues for efficient planning and operations of container terminals. Container terminals are required to have enough berths and container yards as well as various equipments and facilities, but in reality there are many differences in their resources owing to the circumstances of each terminal. This study introduces a simulation model to evaluate various operation rules for teaching and training in class. This paper can analyze various factors (e.g. throughputs, yard and berth occupancies, etc.) and shows operational alternatives considering design factors of a container terminal with the related circumstances of each terminal.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the classification scheme in subject-based directory search engine for educational research information on the web. Five classification systems. Yahoo Korea, Argus Clearinghouse, DDC, ERIC thesaurus and KEDI thesaurus were measured in terms of coverage of subject fields, system logic, accuracy of terminology and efficiency of searching. For the design of Classification Scheme, this study considered the content of subject areas, features of information resources and efficiency based on users. Finally, the Classification Scheme was established in terms of 16 main divisions and 47 sub-divisions in educational research information.

A Comparative Study on Government-led Higher Education Quality Improvement Projects between China and India (중국과 인도의 정부주도 고등교육 질 개선 프로젝트 분석)

  • The objective of present study is to compare the similarities and differences between the two projects and extract implications for the improvement of higher education quality in other countries. To meet this objective, The study compared and analyzed "The Project of Higher Education Quality Development and Educational Reform of China" and "Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme" of government of India. by using the method of literature research, contents analysis and comparison analysis, this paper employed multi-source materials to examine background and targets, measures and outcomes, deficiencies and future direction of these two projects, and compared the similarities and diversities on each matters by utilizing secondary data from national surveys, government statistics, databases, and third-party agencies. The findings led us to suggest that the well-coordinated and standardized administrative system is a primary guarantee for ensuring the smooth implementation of the programme, and sharing educational resources among higher education institutions is an effective means for promoting their joint development. The improvement of higher education quality relies on the reform of the entire higher education system and the efficient networking between higher education institutions.

The Role Experience of Preceptor Nurses in Hospitals (프리셉터 간호사의 역할경험)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify the role experience of preceptor nurses in general hospitals. Methods: Data were collected from 10 experienced preceptor nurses through in-depth interviews about their experiences. The main question was "How do you describe your experience as a preceptor in the process of role adaptation?" Qualitative data from field and transcribed notes were analyzed using Strauss & Corbin's grounded theory methodology. Results: The core category of experience in the process of role adaptation as a preceptor nurse was identified as 'being responsible to teach from beginning to end'. The participants identified five interactional strategies; 'abruptly having to take the role as a preceptor unwilling', 'difficulties in field training with variable situations', 'preceptor and new nurse with love and hate relationships', 'bring up preceptee as a child', 'redefining the concept of preceptor'. Conclusion: The results of this study provide useful information for understanding the role of preceptor nurses in general hospital who have to teach new nurses with patience and responsibility. It will be needed to establishment of preceptor's role and educational standards, and policy for their rewards by nurse manager. Additionally, making cooperative educational climate in nursing ward is important for teaching new nurse.

The "National Park Concept-Waste-Conservation" Model for the Environmental Education ("국립공원의 개념-훼손-보존" 모형의 환경교육적 접근)

  • 1. This paper suggests one educational model of National Parks. The model includes main themes such as (1) concepts, (2) waste types, and (3) conservation policies of National Parks for the application at the school environmental education classes. 2. The study describes the origin of the national park system and concepts or policies for the conservation of the parks with cases of Japan, Taiwan, Canada, Australia, Swiss, Russia, and International Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources(IUCN). The main focuses of their concepts or policies are on the (1) public land, (2) conserved, (3) legally protected land, and (4) land for the education of the loving their country. 3. This research classifies wastes of parks as point, linear, areal, and cubic types, and explains wasting actions on each types, focused mainly on the mountainous national parks. 4. The suggested policies for the conserving national parks, in this paper, are (1) core-zoning policy, and (2) management policy within the core zone. 5. Some principles are suggested for the more effective realization of the policies: (1) enforcement, (2) abandonment,(3) restoration, (4) enlargement, (5) limitation, (6) incorporation, (7) monitoring, and (8) education. 6. Finally, the educational values of this model may be derived from concepts of (1) loving national land, (2) conservation of nature, (3) public responsibility for protection, and (4) education materials. Those concepts form the foundation of models for (1) civic education, (2) education of country, and (3) inquiry training.
