마이크로비트를 이용한 IoT 무선 디바이스 제어용 Java SW설계 교육 방법 (An Education Method of Java SW Designs for IoT Wireless Device Control using Microbits)

  • 무선 통신 기술이 적용된 다양한 IoT 디바이스들을 제어하는 SW는 오류없이 동작해야 한다. IoT 디바이스들이 널리 보급되기 위해서는 이러한 SW를 설계하는 엔지니어들의 기술력이 향상되어야 한다. 단일 디바이스의 입출력 SW를 설계하는 것과 비교할 때, 송신기와 수신기 간의 다양한 입출력 관계를 명확하게 정의하는 SW Flowchart 설계 및 Java SW 프로그래밍 과정은 복잡도가 높다. 본 논문에서는 무선 통신 기반의 IoT 디바이스들을 제어하기 위한 SW Flowchart 설계 방법을 제안하였다. 이 과정에서 전체 제어 알고리즘이 문제 분할 과정을 거쳐 구현되는 것을 설명한다. 그리고, 설계된 SW Flowchart를 교육용 IoT 디바이스인 마이크로비트를 이용하여, Java SW로 프로그래밍하는 교육 방법을 제안하였다. 본 교육방법을 적용한 강좌에서 학생들의 만족도 평가 결과를 분석하여, 마이크로비트를 활용한 IoT 디바이스 제어 SW 교육방법의 유효성을 분석하였다.

Experience of e-Learning during Lockdown for Students with Intellectual Disabilities

  • This study examines the impact of e-learning on the educational level of students with intellectual disabilities from the viewpoint of their teachers. The study sample consisted of seven teachers: two working in primary school, two in middle school, and three in secondary school. The research applied a qualitative approach, using interviews with the participants. The results showed that the following are required for the effective use of e-learning: firstly, appropriate training courses need to be offered to teachers, students, and families and secondly, it is vital students are provided with the appropriate digital devices to maintain contact with their teachers. The study concludes by recommending the development of educational applications and/or programs capable of supporting teachers and students in their use of e-learning.

A Study on the Development of Student Evaluation Standards for Unplugged Computing

  • With the development of information and communication technology, information literacy and utilization are emerging as basic skills necessary for modern people. Accordingly, information education is becoming a basic literacy education for a nation. Unplugged computing is in the spotlight as a major educational method of information education. The main advantage of unplugged computing is that it is easy to convey basic theories or principles of computer science to students through play activities without the help of special information devices such as computers and tablet PCs. However, studies on student evaluation on unplugged computing have been very insufficient. In this study, students' evaluation standards are developed to maximize the educational effect of unplugged computing. The evaluation standards consist of four areas: participation, interest, satisfaction, and understanding of concepts. The results of this study can be used as a basic study for student evaluation of unplugged computing in the future.

자립적 식사 향상을 위한 조사연구: 식사보조도구를 중심으로 (A Cross-Sectional Survey for the Improvement of Self-Feeding: Focusing on Assistive Eating Devices)

  • Purpose: This study aims to understand the current use of and demand for assistive eating devices. These device improve the self-feeding abilities in older adults. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional study design. Descriptive statistics were performed using SPSS 22.0 for Windows. The survey participant of 282 older people(47.7%), 42 family caregivers(7.4%), and 266 staff members(44.9%). Results: Whereas most of the older adults living in their home(87.3%) did not experience difficulty while eating, older adults residing in facilities(26.4%) expressed difficulty with the process of putting food into a spoon. The difference between the two groups was statistically significant(p<.001). Wile the older adults living in home considered assistive eating devices(34.5%) as the most important requirement for self-feeding, older adults in facilities considered receiving help(39.3%) as their biggest requirement(p<.009). Older adults, family caregivers, and nursing home staff were not familiar with assistive eating devices and were not aware of their necessity. Conclusion: The study could help increase awareness about assistive eating devices and the importance of self-feeding in research and nursing educational settings. Improvement in self-feeding ability may future enhance the daily quality of life of older adults.

일부 보건계열 학생들의 VR 학습매체 활용 인식에 대한 연구 (Awareness of health science students' use of virtual reality devices for learning)

  • Background: This study was aimed at surveying the health science students' interest, demand, and awareness of virtual reality (VR) devices for learning to accumulate data necessary to develop and implement a curriculum with VR devices. Methods: We investigated the perception of health science students regarding VR device application and utilization. Statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 25.0 (IBM SPSS Statistics). Frequency and descriptive analyses were performed for the perception level of VR device use for university education. An independent twosamples t-test was performed to statistically analyze the perception level according to the VR device experience. A p-value < 0.05 was set to indicate statistical significance. Results: To the question "Do you wish to use VR devices for educational purposes?," 73% of the participants answered "yes." To the question "Do you think VR is necessary for the course curriculum?," over 65% answered "yes." Conclusion: In this study, health science students reported a great need for VR devices for education. VR-based classroom curriculum is expected to improve students' concentration, interest, and motivation.

Profile Analysis of Elementary School Students' Smart Device Usage

  • Smart devices have a variety of affordances to foster meaningful learning in elementary school. For the design of smart learning environments, more research is needed to understand students' smart device usage and their perception of learning with smart devices. In order to capture smart device usage profiles among elementary school students in South Korea, this study carried out Latent Profile Analysis with three constructs: information search, communication, and study. Participants (n=253), who ranged from the fourth to the sixth grade students, were classified into three profiles of smart device usage: low-activity, communication, and high-activity groups. The smart device usage profiles varied depending on smartphone usage experience, and the profiles were significantly related with smart device addiction, not with smart device usage ability. Perceptions of smart education were also significantly associated with the profiles. The high-activity group showed more positive attitudes toward smart education than the others, but no significant difference was found in regard to negative attitudes. Based on the findings, this study discussed implications for the use of smart devices in elementary school.

Mixed Reality System for Virtual Chemistry Lab

  • This paper presents a new method for improving teaching aids with the design and development of a chemistry education platform - the Mixed Reality (MR) Chemistry Lab. Our system provides a new educational experience in which students can simulate a chemistry experiment in a virtual lab and interact with objects using Oculus Helmet-Mounted Displays (HMD) and hand controller devices. The proposed system aims to familiarize students with experimental procedures and safety knowledge before conducting actual experiments. Moreover, students will be able to observe microscopic atomic structure models in three dimensions. Our research also includes a five-part, quantitative evaluation system user tests perform using a quantitative questionnaire consisting of five items, including hardware equipment, immersion, education, interaction sense of control, and degree of difficulty. The evaluation results confirm that this system will be helpful to the educational experience of conducting chemistry experiments with scientific evaluation methods, and the proposed system is also expected to have a broad range of applications in many other subjects.

  • 세계는 정보통신기술의 발달로 인해 지식의 양이 폭발적으로 증가하면서 정보화 사회에서 지식사회로 빠르게 변화하고 있다. 이런 상황에서 모바일 장치를 기반으로 하는 모바일 학습은 학습자들의 다양한 학습활동을 지원할 수 있는 중요한 기회를 제공하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 모바일 학습을 위한 게임형태의 콘텐츠의 개발 방향을 논의하는데 있다. 모바일 학습을 위해 모바일 장치의 단점을 보완할 수 있는 대안으로 게임형 학습콘텐츠를 개발하는 방향과 게임의 프로토타입을 제시하였다.

심혈관계질환자의 구강관리용품 사용과 관련요인 (Oral hygiene device and related factors in cardiovascular disease patients)

  • Objectives: This study was aimed at investigating the oral hygiene device use by cardiovascular disease patients and assessing related factors. Methods: We used data of 1,630 cardiovascular disease patients (including hypertension, stroke, and myocardial infarction) from the 7th Korean National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (2016-2018). The χ2 test and logistic regression analysis were performed to analyze the oral hygiene device use by the subjects and assess related factors. All statistical analyses were performed with the IBM SPSS Statistics, version 20.0. Results: The oral hygiene device use and related factors were significantly higher in patients with an educational level of middle school or below high school, with a score of 1.85 (95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.35-2.53), or college, with a score of 1.93 (95% CI = 1.19-3.14), compared to those with an educational level below primary school. Further, the oral hygiene device use and related factors were significantly higher in patients who answered 'yes', with a score of 1.96 (95% CI = 1.42-2.73), compared to those who answered 'no' to the question on oral examination. Conclusions: More patients with cardiovascular disease did not use oral hygiene devices than those who did. It is necessary to expand the approach of preventive treatment to increase the utilization rate of oral hygiene devices.

변전소 전력계통 교육용 SIMULATOR 개발에 관한 연구 (A study on the development of substation power system simulator for education and training)

  • This thesis attempts to investigate and analyze the structure of educational simulation devices implemented thus far. conducting a close analysis of their strengths and weaknesses. On this basis the author Presents and implements a new method of simulation, and continuously upgrades it for increased stability and convenience. The most important aspects of the educational simulation device described in this thesis are: first removing the editing function (scenarios. single line diagrams, and point DB), which the instructor finds time-consuming and inconvenient to use; second, developing and installing the program so as to calculate electric power flow that can measure fluctuations measurements after changing the system status; and third. implementing a Client/server mode to build a system that will make it possible to train many people at a time in remote locations. When compared to simulation devices of the Psst. the greatest differences are that algorithm-based scenarios make scenario inputs unnecessary. and that the amount of work required for the point DB and single line diagrams were minimized.
