This study examined the changes of the dietary behaviors of Korean adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic. Data were obtained from 227,139 students aged 12-18 who participated in the Korean Youth Risk Behavior Survey from 2018 to 2021. The participants were divided into two groups: 117,343 students from the 2018-2019 survey and 109,796 from the 2020-2021 survey. Multiple regression analyses were used to calculate the adjusted odds ratio (AOR) for dietary behavior changes between the two groups. The AOR for consuming carbonated beverages among those who consumed three or more times per week compared to those who did not consume carbonated beverages at all was 0.81 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.78-0.84), which significantly decreased during the COVID-19 pandemic (p<0.001). Similarly, the AOR for consuming sweetened beverages between those with three or more times and not at all per week was 0.69 (95% CI: 0.67-0.72) (p<0.001). In contrast, there was a significant increase in the AORs for consuming fast food (AOR: 1.15, 95% CI: 1.11-1.20) and skipping breakfast more than three times per week (AOR: 1.23, 95% CI: 1.20-1.26) during the same period. Fruit intake decreased during the COVID-19 pandemic (AOR: 1.26, 95% CI: 1.21-1.31). In conclusion, the COVID-19 pandemic had both positive and negative impacts on the dietary habits of Korean adolescents.

In response to the significant COVID-19 outbreak, countries have enforced the use of E-learning systems as an alternative to traditional learning; to contain the virus and minimize the infection rate while maintaining the continuity of the learning experience. However, the effective adoption of E-learning systems requires a well-understanding of critical factors, especially in times of crisis. In this regard, this study intends to assess the success of the E-learning system adoption by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) during the crisis of COVID-19 by utilizing the Information Systems Success (ISS) model. This study's adopted model consists of nine interdependent dimensions, namely: Technical System Quality, Information Quality, Service Quality, Learner Quality, Perceived Satisfaction, Perceived Usefulness, System Use, Intention to Use, and System Success. An electronic survey was distributed among higher education students from different universities in Saudi Arabia to explore each model's dimension. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) has been applied via SmartPLS software to test the causal relationships between dimensions. This study's main results revealed that students' Service Quality, Learner Quality, and the Intention to Use by students are essential drives for E-learning System Use during the Covid-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the Intention to Use the system is significantly influenced by Perceived Satisfaction and Perceived Usefulness dimensions. Further, Perceived Satisfaction, Perceived Usefulness, and System Use are interdependent, and all three have a significant positive impact on E-learning System Success.
Purpose - Recently, in the field of language education, interest in edutech has increased due to difficulties in classroom teaching due to COVID-19. Accordingly, we would like to analyze research topics related to e-learning before and after COVID-19 and examine the implications for the future Korean language education field. Research design, data, and methodology - This study organized a list of papers to be analyzed by searching for e-learning terms applicable to Korean language education in RISS. The collected data was electronically documented, keywords were extracted using text mining techniques, and word frequencies were checked, and then viewed through cloud visualization. Result - It was confirmed that research on e-learning in the field of Korean language education has increased rapidly in 2021 and 2022. In particular, extensive research on online learning methods has been actively conducted due to the difficulties of face-to-face learning in the COVID-19 era. There have been many studies on teaching and learning methods, such as flipped learning, hybrid learning, blended learning, mobile learning, and smart learning. Conclusion - Since the research so far has mainly focused on online class management methods. Therefore, future research suggests that efforts should be made to develop educational contents and teaching methods using specific ICT technologies. These efforts will contribute to advancing smart education that future education aims for.
Purpose: This study was conducted to identify factors affecting COVID-19 vaccination and associated side effects among health care workers in a small and medium-sized hospital. Methods: In May 2021, 301 workers out of a total of 670 working in a small and medium-sized hospital in Gyeonggi-do, were surveyed. The small and medium-sized hospital treats patients with COVID-19. Health care workers across different medical institutions responded with self-reported internet questionnaires. Factors influencing COVID-19 vaccination were analyzed via logistic regression. Results: Out of 301 subjects, 89.0% showed an intention to inoculate, and 85.7% were vaccinated against COVID-19. The most frequent reason for vaccination was responsibility as a medical worker. The fear of adverse reactions was the most frequent reason for non-vaccination. Adverse reactions after inoculation occurred in 70.9% of cases, and 30.6% were referred for treatment of adverse reactions. The factors ultimately influencing COVID-19 vaccination were vaccination intention, previous side effects from other vaccinations, occupation, and age. Conclusion: In order to improve the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccination, a systematic approach is required to determine the risk factors associated with the young age of the administrative staff/personnel, subjects with a history of side effects associated with other vaccines, and health care workers who do not intend to be vaccinated. It is important to develop strategies to improve immunization. In addition, accurate and essential information regarding the side effects of vaccination is needed, along with appropriate education and publicity.
Background: In this study, we investigated the changes and factors that affect daily health behaviors due to COVID-19 among adolescents. We intend to provide basic data so that a systematic and comprehensive health education program that includes physical and oral health can be made. Methods: This study was a secondary data analysis of the from the 2019 and 2020 Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey. A final sample of 112,251 participants was anlayzed using chi-square test, and ordinal logistic regression. Results: In the case of tooth brushing, the frequency of 'never' increased in most general characteristics compared to before COVID-19. In the case of handwashing, it was found that handwashing behavior increased (increased) after COVID-19 compared to before COVID-19. As a result of confirming the factors affecting tooth brushing behavior before and after COVID-19, it was found that girls brushed teeth 2.2 times more regularly after lunch than boys. As a result of adjusting all other factors, regular tooth brushing behavior after COVID-19 was reduced by 0.79 times compared to before COVID-19. Conclusion: It is judged that it is necessary to operate a comprehensive health management program in the school so that the most basic tooth brushing for oral health and handwashing for health can become a habit. In addition, by confirming the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on handwashing and tooth brushing behavior through this study, it is expected to be used in the development of policy data such as raising awareness of brushing and improving behaviors applicable in the current and upcoming new pandemic situations.
Purpose: This study aimed to identify factors associated with nurses' vaccination acceptance in the initial stage of coronavirus infectious disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination in Korea. Methods: This cross-sectional study collected data from hospital-level or higher medical institutions from May 5 to May 7, 2021 with a total of 368 nurses via an online survey. Multiple regression analysis was used to identify factors associated with vaccination acceptance. Results: The acceptance of COVID-19 vaccination had an average score of 4.28 ± 0.80 out of 7 points. Among the sub-areas of acceptance, the safety of the vaccine exhibited the lowest score (average, 2.80 ± 0.83). The factors related to COVID-19 vaccination acceptance in nurses were age (over 40 compared to under 29) (β = .16, p = .008), experience (more than 11 years compared to under 5) (β = .16, p = .010), the absence of a preferred vaccine (β = -.14, p = .004), and educational background (a master's degree or higher compared to a bachelor's degree or lower) (β = .12, p = .042). Conclusion: In the initial stage of COVID-19 vaccination, nurses believed that the COVID-19 vaccine was important and that people should be vaccinated, but had concerns regarding the safety of the vaccine. Older age, more experience, the absence of a preferred vaccine, and a higher educational background were associated with higher acceptance of COVID-19 vaccination. Therefore, more active education on the necessity and value of vaccination for young people is required at the individual and socio-cultural level, and a sufficient supply of preferred vaccines at the national level is needed.

This study was conducted to determine the extent to which music and art education had an effect on relieving depression and stress caused by COVID-19 and social distancing for teenagers in Seoul. To this end, with the cooperation of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, an official document was issued to elementary, middle, and high schools in Seoul, and a study on the current status of about 1,745 students was conducted. Therefore, this study intends to prove through this study that music activity can significantly contribute to relieving depression and stress in adolescents on the basis that COVID-19 has a significant effect on the induction of depression and stress in adolescents. To this end, based on previous research, while examining the changes in the psychological state of Koreans due to COVID-19, we would like to analyze the depression and stress of adolescents intensively. And by experiencing music activities, it will be confirmed that depression and stress caused by COVID-19 can be relieved to a large extent through physiological and emotional changes. Furthermore, based on the survey, we intend to suggest that music activities will help adolescents to improve their emotional stability, cultural sensitivity, and self-esteem, and ultimately develop into healthy cultural people in terms of education.

Purpose: This study investigated the impact of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) on women's health nursing clinical practicums in undergraduate nursing schools in Korea during the spring 2020 semester. Methods: A cross-sectional online survey on clinical practicum teaching experiences in the spring 2020 semester was distributed to members of the Korean Society of Women Health Nursing (KSWHN) who taught undergraduate nursing. One faculty member from each of 203 institutions was requested to respond and there were no duplicate participants. Seventy-nine participants (38.9%) responded and 74 responses were analyzed. Descriptive statistics were presented for all survey items. Results: Fifty-two faculty members (70.3%) belonged to universities and 22 (29.7%) taught at colleges. Thirty-eight (51.4%) answered that their institutions had affiliated teaching hospitals. More than half (52.7%) conducted hospital-based clinical practicums either entirely (n=20) or partially (n=19), whereas the rest of them (47.3%) conducted clinical practicums at school or home via online teaching. The typical teaching methods for offline or online education were case conferences, tests or quizzes, scenario studies, nursing skill practicums, (virtual) nursing simulations, and simulated patient education. Most of faculties (93.2%) supported the development of an educational platform to share educational materials and resources, such as case scenarios. Conclusion: Nursing faculty members utilized various teaching methods to enhance clinical skills and mitigate limited clinical exposure during the early stage of the COVID-19 pandemic. The KSWHN should move forward to develop an education platform and modalities for members who face many challenges related to the accessibility and quality of nursing education contents.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the mental health status of Korean adults during the COVID-19 pandemic and to verify the predictors and mediating effects of avoidance coping on the relationship between the intolerance of uncertainty and anxiety and the intolerance of uncertainty and depression. Methods: An online survey was completed by 191 Korean adults from 19 to 64 years old. Using the IBM SPSS Win 19.0 program, the data were analyzed through the frequency, mean, t-test or analysis of variance, Pearson's correlation coefficient, linear regression analysis and Sobel test. Results: Of the survey respondents 21.5%, and 33.5% respectively were classified into anxiety and depression risk groups. The predictors of anxiety were intolerance of uncertainty (β=.52), avoidance coping (β=.21), and response efficacy (β=-.15). Those variables explained 47.7% of the respondents' anxiety. The predictors of depression were intolerance of uncertainty (β=.40), avoidance coping (β=.20), and response-efficacy (β=-.12). These variables explained 34.9% of the participants' depression. Among the predictors of anxiety and depression, avoidance coping was the significant mediating variable. Conclusion: The predictors of anxiety and depression during the COVID-19 pandemic were revealed to be intolerance of uncertainty, avoidance coping, and response-efficacy. These results indicate the necessity of providing the cognitive interventions and reducing the use of avoidance coping strategies on a personal level. Community-level efforts, including early detection and health communication strategies, should prioritize risk groups for example young adults. The study suggests it will be necessary to provide sufficient information, psychological support and economic policy alternatives related to the COVID-19 pandemic on the national level.

This study aimed to identify academic stress factors of nursing students who have experienced COVID-19. The subjects of this study were 172 nursing students from three universities in Gyeongsangnam-do. Data were collected at November 2022 and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation, Hierarchical regression by SPSS/WIN 21.0. As a result of the study, the degree of academic stress 2.09 points and the factors affecting nursing students' academic stress were major satisfaction, satisfaction with alternative clinical practicum, emotion-focused coping, problem-focused coping, self-efficacy, perceived health status, and depression due to COVID-19, and the total explanatory power was 62.3%. Based on these research results, we need to prepare a systematic education plan to reduce the academic stress of nursing students in future disasters and infectious diseases by preparing measures to increase nursing students' major satisfaction and satisfaction with alternative clinical practicum.
