Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effectiveness of herbal remedies (Bokryeongkamcho -tang. Yeongkyechulkam-tang.) on nummular eczema. Methods : The 49 year-old male patient has been suffered from nummular eczema for 8 months. At first, he was treated with Bokryeongkamcho-tang for 56 days. And then he was treated with Yeongkyechulkam-tang for last 40 days. During the treatment we checked pruritis degree changes and extent changes by asking. And we checked how prulent exudates, crusts, scratch marks are changes by taking photos. First evaluation was performed before treatment, second evaluation was performed after taking Bokryeongkamcho-tang 56 days, third evaluation was performed after taking Yeongkyechulkam-tang 40 days. Results : After taking Bokryeongkamcho-tang 56 days, pruritus was decreased and prulent exudents were stopped, and crusts were disappeared. Nummular eczema on trunk, arm, thigh was disappeared. But light pruritis was still going on, and small circle-shaped vesicles groups were lagged on forearm and shin, ankle. So we found other symptoms from the patient, and administered Yeongkyechulkam-tang. After taking Yeongkyechulkam-tang 40 days, pruritus was almost decreased and nummular eczema on fore arm, shin was disappeared. Conclusions : This clinical case indicates that herbal remedies(Bokryeongkamcho-tang. Yeongkyechulkam-tang.) are effective on nummular eczema.

화폐상 습진(Nummular eczema) 병변으로 내원한 환자에게 고문자적 해석을 바탕으로 당귀회역탕(當歸回逆湯)을 진단하여 다음 결론을 얻었다. 1. 화폐상 습진(Nummular eczema) 환자에게 당귀회역탕(當歸回逆湯)을 30일 투약 후 DLQI 18점에서 0점, VAS 10에서 1로 개선되었다. 2. 『상한론(傷寒論)』 351조(條)에서 궐(厥), 세(細)를 피부병변부 발생의 원인과 관계된 병리적인 단어로 추론하고 고문자적으로 해석하여 당귀회역탕(當歸回逆湯)을 투여하고 치료함으로써 한의학적 임상 진단 방법을 구체화할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다.

포진상 습진(eczema herpeticum)은 헤르페스의 가장 심한 양상 중 하나로서, 아토피 피부염 등이 있는 피부에 HSV가 감염되어 발생하며 치명적일 수 있다. 포진상 습진은 HSV의 1차 감염 뿐만 아니라 2차 감염에 의해서도 발생할 수 있다. 포진상 습진에서 2차성 세균 감염은 흔하게 발생하는데, 황색포도상구균이 가장 흔하게 분리되는 호기성 균주이다. 포진상 습진의 치료에 중요한 점은 전신적인 항바이러스 치료를 빨리 시작하고 2차적인 세균 감염을 줄이기 위해 항균제를 사용하는 것이다. 저자들은 지속적인 아토피 피부염으로 인해 한방 치료를 받던 환아에게서 중증 포진상 습진이 발생한 2례를 화상 드레싱 및 항바이러스제 치료로 호전을 보인 경험을 하여 이를 보고하는 바이다.

Introduction Hand eczema is dermatitis that occurs on the hand and fingers. In this case, the patient had chronic hand eczema that had relapsed for 3 years, worsened for 6 months, and did not improve even with standard dermatological treatment. We report significant improvement of the patient with chronic hand eczema, diagnosed with Soeunmin Greater Yin Symptomatology based on Sasang Constitutional Medicine. Methods We prescribed herbal medicine, Sibimigwanjung-tang(十二味寬中湯), and the western medications were continued throughout the treatment period. To evaluate the treatment progression, we observed objective and subjective symptoms and took pictures of the patient's hands. Results At the first time of the outpatient visit, the patient complained of pain, oozing, scaling and severe itching even though she had taken dermatological medication for over 6 months. After 8 weeks of Korean medicine treatment, most symptoms showed improvement, and after about 47 weeks of treatment, the symptoms maintained 90% improvement even after stopping western medications and herbal medications. Conclusion The patient in this case showed a significant improvement of chronic hand eczema and the improvements have been maintained even stopping western medications and herbal medications during follow-up for 15 weeks. In addition, the patient showed improvement and maintenance of general conditions as well as skin-related symptoms. In this case, we can concern the effect of the Sasang Constitutional Medicine focused on treating the patient's general pathology as well as the patient's chief complaint at chronic hand eczema not responding to standard dermatological treatment.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report the clinical effect of herbal medicine decoction on COVID-19 symptoms remaining after administering Western medicine and worsening eczema during the COVID-19 prevalence period in patients with chronic eczema. Methods : The two chronic eczema patients suffering from COVID-19 symptoms and worsening eczema received a series of herbal medicine decoction for treatment. The effectiveness of treatment was evaluated by VAS, NRS, EASI, PASI, DLQI, photography and subjective evaluation of the patient's improvement of symptoms. Results : After treatment, all symptoms of COVID-19 disappered and aggravated eczema lesions were remarkably improved in both cases. Compared to its peak, the first case shows that PASI improved by 88% and DLQI by 44%. According to photo and symptom changes, the size of the affected area of facial acne and lip eczema was decreased. The second case shows that EASI improved by 43% and DLQI by 65%. According to photo and symptom changes, redness, rash were stopped and pruritus was decreased. Conclusion : This study suggests that herbal medicine could induce effectiveness on both COVID-19 symptoms as well as chronic eczema.

Objective : This study aims to explain the effect of Injinho-tang on Eczema which a Yangmyung-byeong patient has. Methods : This is a case report on a female patient who has been suffering from Eczema. According to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions, Injinho-tang was provided for six months. Results : After a series of Injinho-tang treatments, the patient's symptoms and result improved. Conclusions : This case study showed an effectiveness of using Injinho-tang according to Diagnostic system based on Shanghanlun provisions on Eczema.

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to know the effect of Socheongryong-Tang on Dyshidrotic Eczema. Methods : We experienced one case of Dyshidrotic Eczema treated with Socheongryong-Tang. We have diagnosed the patient through the abdominal examination and have decided the treatment principle accordingly. We used visual analogue scale(VAS). Results : After the treatment the grade of VAS was decreased and clinical symptoms were gradually disappeared. Conclusion : Socheongryong-Tang have improved the signs and symptoms of Dyshidrotic Eczema case. It is concluded that Socheongryong-Tang is considerably effective on the treatment of skin disease that is related to rhinitis.

Eczema herpeticum is a widespread Herpes simplex virus(HSV) infection, which usually develops in patients with atopic dermatitis, because prutitis in patients with atopic dermatits leads them to scratch their bodies, it cause the dissemination of Herpes simplex virus. This study carried out to observe the progress of Eczema herpeticum and find effective remedy. The pastient was taken Herb-medicine with acupunture, cupping theraphy, aroma theraphy, and etc. After the treatment the grade of VAS was decressed and clinical symptoms were gradually disappeared. Those results suggest that herbal treatment was effective to Eczema herpeticum.

Objectives : This study was carried out to investigate the effect of Hwanggigyejiomul-tang on eczema with oozing. Methods : We treated 23 eczema patients with oozing. We used the Visual Analogue Scale(VAS), and recorded the condition of patients as severe, moderate, mild, none. Results : After the treatments, all patients VAS of oozing was remarkably decreased. Conclusions : This study suggests that Hwanggigyejiomul-tang is effective on eczema with oozing.

Objective : The purpose of this study is to know the effect of Ko-Bang(古方) on nummular eczema. Methods : We decided the treatment principle through the abdominal examination and symptoms. We gave Ko-Bang to the patient and observed the progress. We used visual analogue scale(VAS). Results : After the treatment the grade of VAS was decreased and the symptoms of nummular eczema were significantly improved. Conclusion : After the treatment of Hwanggijakyakgyejigoju-Tang(黃耆芍藥桂枝苦酒湯), the symptoms of nummular eczema were disappeared and Ko-Bang was effective on the treatment of intractable skin diseases.
