차량 연비 향상을 위한 대형 디젤엔진 차량의 엔진 냉각 및 부대장치 연구 (Vehicle Fuel Economy Improvement by Studies on the Engine Cooling and Ancilliaries System of the Heavy Duty Engine)

  • Recently it is strongly required to develop the better fuel economy as well as basic power performance based on strict emission legislation. This paper focuses on studies of the engine cooling and ancillaries system among fuel economy factors in the developing stage. Firstly through the analysis of the current specifications, it is assessed whether each components may be designed properly, not overdesigned. Secondly, it is predicted how the fuel economy of each components can be improved. Finally the results are confirmed by vehicle field test equppted with the updatedcomponents. This study found good agreementbetween the prediction and the field test on the vehicle fuel economy improvements of the heavy duty engine vehicle with updated components such as engine cooling and ancilliaries.

차량 누적거리에 의한 연비 특성 연구 (Study on Fuel Economy Characteristics by Cumulative Distance of Vehicle)

  • The vehicle label fuel economy is used as an energy management indicator nationwide. It induces technology development of automobile manufacturers and plays a role of providing information when purchasing a consumer vehicle. However, consumers who purchase a new vehicle continued to complain that the label fuel economy is different from the mandatory fuel economy rate. The domestic fuel economy measurement method is the same as the North American measurement method. The results of the two test modes (urban (FTP-75 mode), highway (HWFET mode)) are calculated in five test modes reflecting various environmental conditions and driving patterns 5-cycle correction formula is used which is equivalent to the fuel efficiency value. In this study, to solve the consumers' curiosity about the fuel economy of new vehicle, we use domestic fuel economy measurement method to measure the new car condition within 150 km of driving distance and the cumulative driving distance condition of domestic label fuel economy test vehicle. A comparative evaluation of fuel economy was carried out for a durability vehicle of $6,500{\pm}1,000km$. A result, mean value of the fuel economy of the four gasoline vehicles increased by 2.7 % in the city center mode and by 2.5 % in the highway mode in the durable vehicle compared new vehicle. And in the case of the diesel vehicle it increased by 2.5 % and 3.9 % respectively. The harmful exhaust gas emitted from the vehicle also resulted in more emissions of both gasoline and diesel vehicles in new vehicles. It is considered that the increase of the frictional force of the vehicle driving system and the lubricating oil system would have an effect on the reduction of the fuel economy of the new vehicle, and it was found that the fuel economy and the exhaust gas were improved by proper cumulative distance (domesticate) to the new vehicle.

시스템적 관점에서 접근한 신경제의 특성에 대한 재고찰 (Rethinking the Characteristics of the New Economy: A Systemic View)

  • 1990년대 이래 신경 제라는 제목 하에 다양한 경제 사회적 현상들이 관찰되고 논의되어왔다. 문헌에 기록된 대부분의 신경제 현상들은 단편적 일화적으로 묘사되고 있어 신경제의 본질에 대한 논리적이고 체계적인 설명이 부족하다. 본 연구는 시스템 관점에서 신경제 현상의 특성을 분석하였다. 구체적으로 신경제를 하나의 시스템 현상으로 놓고 아래 5가지 시스템적 속성에 대한 답을 구하였다. 1) 신경제 시스템의 구성요소는 무엇이며 그것들은 어떻게 상호 연관되어 있는가? 2) 신경제 시스템은 기능적으로 어떻게 작동하는가? 3) 신경제 시스템에서 생산되는 재화와 서비스는 무엇인가? 4) 신경제가 시스템으로서 가지는 가치는 무엇인가? 5) 신경제 시스템의 총체적 체계적 특성은 무엇인가? 본 연구는 상기 각 시스템 측면에서 신경제가 가지는 핵심 속성을 도출하고, 이를 종합하여 시스템 관점에서의 신경제 이해를 도모하고 있다. 아울러 신경제의 시스템적 특성이 기업의 전략에 시사하는 바가 무엇인지를 논의하고 앞으로의 연구과제들을 제시하고 있다.

CONTROL STRATEGY OF ELECTRIC COOLANT PUMPS FOR FUEL ECONOMY IMPROVEMENT

  • The engine cooling system for a medium duty V6, 4.5 L diesel engine was modeled with a commercial code, GT-Cool in order to investigate the effect of controllable electric pump on the cooling performance and the fuel economy. The simulation results of the cooling system model with mechanical coolant pump were validated with experimental data. Two different types of electric pumps were implemented into the cooling system model and PID control for electric pump operation was incorporated into the simulation study. Based on the simulation result with electric pump, conventional thermostat hysteresis was modified to reduce pump operation for additional improvement of fuel economy, and then the benefit of electric pumps with modified thermostat hysteresis on fuel economy was demonstrated with the simulation. The predicted result indicates that the cooling system with electric pump and modified thermostat hysteresis can reduce pump power consumption by more than $99\%$ during the FTP 74 driving cycle.

  • If a system such as a port and regional economy has a large boundary and complexity, the system's substance is considered as a black box, forecast accuracy will be very low. Futhermore various components in a port and regional economy exert significant influence on each other. To copy with these problem the form of structure models were introduced by using SD model. This study has the issue of simplifying the regional economic effects of the port as contributing to raising the regional income. The regional economic effects of port have various indirect ones except for this. So, SD(System Dynamics) was presented, and applied to simulate port and regional economy.

  • The fashion system has been criticized for relying on a linear economy to reduce short-term costs and increase profits. Meanwhile, the circular economy strives to expand the value chain through a closed loop for companies, society, and the environment by separating consumption from resources. This study aims to elucidate the strategic characteristics of the technological measures that fashion companies and brands are trying to innovate into a sustainable fashion system on the basis of the circular economy concept. Thus, we conducted case studies by dividing the value chain of the fashion system into design, production, and consumption to identify the technological development of the circular fashion system from a technologization perspective that incorporates technological values. First, design appeared to strengthen emotional durability, design and process with circulation in mind, and fashion product digitalization. Second, production manifested itself as material development for the new fiber economy, improvement of non-environmental processes, and customization of demand-driven, responsive production. Third, consumption was the spread of the environmental consumption culture through the sharing economy platform, the realization of a virtual wearing experience to prevent rapid disposal, and the provision of information on sustainable consumption.

정지구간에서 자동변속기 D단 중립 제어가 LA-4 모드 주행 연비에 미치는 영향 (Effect of D-Range Neutral Control of Automatic Transmission on LA-4 Mode Fuel Economy)

  • This paper focuses on vehicle fuel economy improvement using D-Range neutral control of automatic transmission. The system objected to reducing of fuel consumption during idle. Usually, turbine of conventional auto transmission is mechanically linked to wheel during idling condition. Therefore speed ratio of torque converter is zero for that period. This causes needless power loss by the torque converter slip. To improve this inefficiency automobile makers develops electronically-controlled D-range neutral control system. The D-range neutral control system minimizes slip on the torque converter by shifting gear to a neutral position during vehicle stoped with D-range gear position. However there's insufficient study about the effect of D-range neutral control system on vehicle fuel economy. In this paper, researches are performed on effect of D-range neutral control system on vehicle fuel economy by experiment with two different vehicle. And it is also estimated the effect on vehicle fuel economy using computer simulation. As a result, 1.8% of LA-4 mode fuel economy improvement can be achieved in a vehicle by D-range neutral control system.

소방서건물의 신재생에너지시스템 최적화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Optimization of a Renewable Energy System in Fire Station Buildings)

  • This study set out to evaluate the economy, environmentality, and complexity (economy+environmentality) of fire station buildings of public service facilities and propose ways to apply the optimization of renewable energy system to fire station buildings. As for economy according to life cycle costs, economy increased when the application percentage of the geothermal and solar heat system increased over the three renewable energy system types (geothermal, solar heat, and solar photovoltaic). On the other hand, economy decreased when the application percentage of the solar photovoltaic system increased. As for environmentality according to tons of carbon dioxide, environmentality decreased when the application percentage of the geothermal and solar heat system increased. Environmentality increased when the application percentage of the solar photovoltaic system increased. As for complexity (economy+environmentality) according to the weighted coefficient method, complexity increased when the application percentage of the geothermal system increased. It was highest at the combination of the solar heat system (20%) and geothermal system (80%). On the other hand, complexity decreased when the application percentage of the solar photovoltaic system increased. It was lowest at the combination of the solar photovoltaic system (80%) and geothermal system (20%).

교류발전기 충전 제어에 따른 차량연비 개선 효과 (Effect of Alternator Control on Vehicle Fuel Economy)

  • For many years there has been a trend to increased electrical energy consumption in cars caused by the replacement of mechanical parts by electronic or mechanical devices as well as the introduction of new electronic features. Whereas the number of electrical consumers continues to increase, the battery is still the only passive power source available. Because of this reason, needs for driving power of the engine accessories such as alternator system have increased. Usually, conventional alternator system is directly driven by the crankshaft of engine with belt. Since this increase bring about additional fuel economy. To improve this system automobile makers develops new controled alternator system. This paper focuses on fuel economy improvement according to control of alternator. In this paper, researches are performed on effect of type of Alternator system on fuel economy by experiment. And it is also calculated the effect on vehicle fuel economy using computer simulation with AVL cruise software. As a result, 0.64% of vehicle fuel economy improvement can be achieved in a vehicle with controled Alternator system compared to a vehicle with conventional Alternator system in NEDC mode.
