발전용 보일러의 후부 전열면 소음진동 저감에 관한 사례 연구 (A Case Study on The Reduction and Examination for Noise and Vibration of Backpass Heat Surface in the Power Plant Boiler)

  • The boiler structure is determined by combustion characteristics and construction costs in the combustion chamber of a large commercial boiler. The heat transfer in boiler is composed of the radiation and the convection. The convective heat transfer has happened to back-pass heating surface. The combustion gas sequentially passes through the reheater tube, 1st economizer tube, and 2nd economizer tube. In case of being lowered in boiler height, we have to install additional tube bundle in back-pass heating surface for increasing the heat transfer of boiler, which causes the noise and vibration from combustion gas. When the combustion gas passes through the back-pass tube bundle in specified load of commercial boiler, this paper analyzes the acoustic characteristics between vortex-shedding frequency and natural frequency in tube bundle cavity. The case study reduce the resonance by changing natural frequency characteristics of tube-bundle cavity using a way to install ant-noise baffle in the direction of combustion gas flow.

Inconel 625 용사코팅된 절탄기 핀튜브의 전기화학적 내식성 분석 (Analysis of Electrochemical Corrosion Resistance of Inconel 625 Thermal Spray Coated Fin Tube of Economizer)

  • 본 연구는 절탄기 튜브의 저온부식 손상을 방지하기 위해 Inconel 625 용사재료를 활용하여 아크 열용사 코팅기술 적용 후 실링처리를 실시하였다. 용사코팅(TSC) 층의 내식성 분석을 위해 0.5 wt% 황산 수용액에서 다양한 전기화학적 실험을 진행하였다. 양극분극 실험 후에는 주사전자현미경과 EDS 성분분석을 통해 부식 손상 정도를 파악하였다. 자연전위 계측 시 TSC+실링처리(TSC+Sealing)의 안정적인 전위 형성을 통해 실링처리 효과를 확인하였다. 양극분극 실험 결과 TSC와 TSC+Sealing에서 부동태 영역이 확인되었으며, 부식 손상 역시 관찰되지 않아 내식성이 개선되었다. 더불어 타펠분석에 의해 산출된 부식전위와 부식전류밀도 분석 결과 TSC+Sealing의 내식성이 가장 우수하게 나타났다.

Characterization of Microstructure and Thermal property of Ash Deposits on Fire-side Boiler Tube

  • Ash deposition of heat exchange boiler, caused mainly by accumulation of particulate matter, reduces heat transfer of the boiler system. Heat and mass transfer through porous media such as ash deposits mainly depend on the microstructure of deposited ash. Therefore, in this study, we investigated microstructural and thermal properties of the ash deposited on the boiler tube. Samples for this research were obtained from the fuel economizer tube in an industrial waste incinerator. To characterize microstructures of the ash deposit samples, scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and BET analysis were employed. The results revealed that it had a porous structure with small particles mostly of less than a few micrometers; the contents of Ca and S were 19.3, 22.6% and 18.5, 18.7%, respectively. Also, the results showed that it consisted mainly of anhydrite ($CaSO_4$) crystals. - The thermal conductivities of the ash deposit sample obtained from the economizer tube in industrial waste incinerator were measured to be 0.63 and 0.54 W/mK at $200^{\circ}C$, which were about 100 times less than the thermal conductivity (61.32 W/mK) of the boiler tube itself, indicating that ash deposition on the boiler tube was closely related to a decrease in boiler heat transfer.

  • Flow induced vibration experiments were done to determine the vibration magnitude of tubes in the economizer tube lane region of a steam generator. The objective of this experiment is to demonstrate that the tubes are not susceptible to harmful levels of vibration at 100% of full power flow and to quantify the remaining design margin at 120% and 140% of full power flow.

열교환장치의 구조 및 재질에 따른 열회수율과 파울링의 발생 특성 (Characteristics of Heat Recovery Rate and Fouling according to Structures and Materials in Heat Exchangers)

  • 본 연구에서는 급수예열기 및 공기예열기 등의 열교환장치의 구조 및 재질에 따른 열회수율 및 파울링 발생량 특성에 대해 조사하였다. 열교환기는 석탄화력발전소에서 일반적으로 구성된 급수예열기와 공기예열기를 대상으로 하였고, 소형소각로를 제작하여 모사실험을 수행하였다. 24시간동안 미분탄을 연소하면서 파울링 발생 및 열회수율의 변화를 관찰하였는데, 급수예열기의 구조에 따른 파울링 발생량은 핀(FIN) 튜브형 > 튜브 연결형 > 파이프형 > 자동세정형의 순서로 발생량이 많았으며, 그에 따른 열회수율은 핀튜브형 > 자동세정형 > 파이프형 > 튜브연결형 순으로 높게 나타났다. 공기예열기의 경우에는 구조에 따라 핀(FIN)튜브형 > 핀(FIN)판형 > 파이프형 > 테프론 파이프형 > 세라믹 파이프형 순으로 파울링 발생량이 많았으며, 열회수율도 같은 순서로 높게 나타났다. 재질의 내구성, 내산성, 내열성 등을 고려하여 세라믹이나 테플론 코팅을 할 경우에는 파울링량을 감소시킬 수는 있으나, 열회수율이 낮게 나타나 비효율적이었다.

  • Environmental pollution caused by power plant exhaust gas is highlighted and eco-friendly regulations are being strengthened. However, due to the abundant reserves and low prices of coal, still the most used for power generation in the world. Therefore, flexible operation of coal-fired power plants to reduce emissions has become an inevitable option. However, lowering the output increases the possibility of acid dew point corrosion as the exhaust gas temperature decreases. The dew point corrosion occurs when condensable gases such as SO3, HCl, NO2 and H2O cools below the saturation temperature. SO3 is already well known to cause severe low- temperature corrosion in coal-fired power plants. Therefore, this study aims to prevent damage that may occur during operation by analyzing the dew point and corrosion resistance with exhaust gas temperature and sulfuric acid concentration of the power plant economizer tube.

용융 알루미늄 도금된 절탄기 강재 튜브의 고상입자 침식 특성 (Solid Particle Erosion Properties of Hot-Dip Aluminized Economizer Steel Tube)

  • In this paper, durability evaluation and surface damage mechanism were investigated through solid particle erosion (SPE) test after applying hot-dip aluminizing (HDA) technology for the purpose of maintenance of marine economizer tube. Damaged surface shape was analyzed using SEM and 3D microscope. Compositional changes and microstructure of the HDA layer were analyzed through EDS and XRD. Durability was evaluated by analyzing weight loss and surface damage depth after SPE. HDA was confirmed to have a two-layer structure of Al and Al5Fe2. HDA+HT was made into a single alloy layer of Al5Fe2 by diffusion treatment. In the microstructure of HDA+HT, void and crack defect were induced during the crystal phase transformation process. The SPE damage mechanism depends on material properties. Plastic deformation occurred in the substrate and HDA due to ductility, whereas weight loss due to brittleness occurred significantly in HDA+HT. As a result, the substrate and HDA showed better SPE resistance than HDA+HT.

  • Cross-flow existing in a shell-and-tube steam generator can cause a tube to vibrate. There are four regions subjected to cross-flow in Yonggwang units 3 and 4 (YGN 3 and 4) steam generators, which are of the same design as the steam generators for Palo Verde nuclear power plant Palo Verde units 1 and 2 steam generators have experienced localized oar at the comers of the cold side recirculating fluid inlet regions. A number of design modifications were made to preclude tube failure in specific regions of YGN 3 and 4 steam generators. Therefore, flow induced vibration experiments were done to determine the vibration magnitude of tubes in the economizer tube free lane region. The objective of this experiment is to demonstrate that the tube displacement is less than 0.01 inch rms at 100% of full power flow and to quantify the remaining design margin at 120ft and 140% of full power flow.

관류형 아임계압 배열회수보일러의 열성능 모델링과 검증 (Modelling and Verification of Once-Through Subcritical Heat Recovery Steam Generator)

  • The once-through heat recovery steam generator is ideally matched to very high temperature and pressure, well into the supercritical range. Moreover this type of boiler is structurally simpler than drum type boiler. In drum type boiler, each tube play a well-defined role: water preheating, vaporization, superheating. Empirical equations are available to predict the average heat transfer coefficient for each regime. For once-through heat recovery steam generator, this is no more the case and mathematical models have to be adapted to account for the disappearance of drum type economizer, boiler, superheater. General equations have to be used for each tube of boiler, and actual heat transfer condition in each tube has to be identified.

스크류 압축식 냉동기의 성능향상에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental study on the performance improvement of a screw-compressor-type chiller)

  • An experimental study on the performance enhancement of a screw-compressor-type chiller with 100kW of nominal cooling capacity has been carried out. Performance test facility was developed to investigate the effects of a partial modification from the existing chiller on the performance. By replacing the existing shell-and -tube heat exchangers with plate heat exchangers, the cooling capacity is increased by 15~18% and the COP is also increased by 19~21% depending on the operation temperature range. Charging mixed refrigerant R22/R142b(80 : 20) instead of R22 into the chiller with plate heat exchangers improves the cooling capacity by 4% and the COP very largely by 30%. Each contribution of the plate evaporator, plate condenser, and mixed refrigerant to the performance enhancement is examined by analyzing the refrigeration cycle and the heat transfer processes. It is also shown that the chiller performance can be improved by adapting 2-stage-compression cycle using an economizer.
