  • Induction motors are a critical component of industrial processes. Sudden failures of such machines can cause the heavy economical losses and the deterioration of system reliability. Based on the reliability and cost competitiveness of driving system (motors), the faults detection and the diagnosis of system are considered very important factors. In order to perform the faults detection and diagnosis of motors, the vibration monitoring method and motor current signature analysis (MCSA) method are emphasized. In this paper, MCSA method is used for induction motor fault diagnosis. This method analyses the motor's supply current. since this diagnoses faults of the motor. The diagnostic algorithm is based on the principal component analysis(PCA), and the diagnosis system is programmed by using LabVIEW and MATLAB.

  • This study aims to presents Evaluation Method of Green Remodeling that analyze the value of environment through expense, using the method of life cycle cost and life cycle assessment simultaneously. The results of this study are summarized as follows. Evaluation Model developed in this study can convert economical value of environment into cost by integrating. In addition, the model can apply as a useful tool to estimation of economical design alternative as well as quantification of environmental loads and costs. Evaluation Model presented In this study observe energy consumption and the environmental load emission with qualification, it can forecast effect of environmental cost that cost estimation is expected to be added to energy cost rate by being possible. Synthetically, when Estimation Model and computer program that developed in this study is applies to the construction industry; reasonable management of environmental load is convenient at each step of Green Remodeling. In addition, at preliminary design phase, practical use may be possible by reasonable yardstick about various alternatives and improvement of design alternatives likewise by grasping environmental effect.

  • In the paper, we evaluated insulation evaluation of EPDM insulator used often in power distribution lines in Korea. The selected samples for our experiment were three EPDM insulators for 22.9[kV] operated for 10 years or less. Using these samples, we observed the discharge pattern through accelerating experimental and analyzed discharge quantity using fractal theory. The validity of our fractal method were discussed and life time. reliability and quantitative analysis of the insulator was conducted through the method.

  • The main purpose of this study was to determine whether the inelastic moment-rotation character-istics defined by the lower-bound curve permit economical ALFD for noncompact plate gilders. The study was also intended to determine the benefits of improving the moment-rotation to illustrate the ar plication of the ALFD to noncompact plate girders and to show the Influence of various parameters on the design process. To accomplish these objectives, 34 preliminary designs were made by ALFD or LFD or WSD. In the study, this method of analysis is described first. Next, the design procedures are described. Finally, the resulting designs are presented and discussed.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the life cycle cost of primary cooling system by systematic support cost. Life Cycle Cost(LCC) is the process of making an economic assessment of an item, area, system, or facility by considering all significant costs of ownership over an economic life, expressed in terms of equivalent costs. The essence of life cycle costing is the analysis of equivalent costs of various alternative proposals. In order to select economical primary cooling system in early heat source plan stages, the research investigates cost items and cost characteristics during project process phases such as planning/design, construction, maintenance /management, and demolition/sell phases. The study also analyze the life cycle cost by capacity leading to suggest the most economical primary cooling system by systematic support cost.

  • The design theory of roller gate has been systematized laying more emphasis on practical formulas than theoretical ones and the design procedure of the existing gate facilites is reviewed and analyaed on economical viewpoint and safety factor. The design theory of timoshenko, the thechnical standards for hydraulic gate and penstock of Japan, and the design standards for waterworks structures of Germany are applied to the study of optimal design of a gate leaf. In this study, gate leaf which is now being operated for water control at the seadike, estuary dam and reservoir dam are adopted as a mode, and a new design method by the computer is proposed through the variation of design elements within practical ranges. As a result, safety factor and economical design can be made by using T-beams to the horizontal and vertical beam of the gate leaf instead of H-beams used in the existing seadike roller gate at Asan, and total weight of gate leaf is reduced by the present optimization.

부체도로 포장의 단면 설계 지침 개발 연구 (The development of pavement section and thickness design guidelines for rural access roads)

  • PURPOSES : This study proposes standards for rural access road pavement section and thickness design considering existing access road construction conditions; the study also proposes a complementary policy that can be used for design convenience. METHODS : Various literature review and case studies had been performed in terms of rural access road section and thickness design, both domestically and internationally, and this was followed by domestic rural access road field surveys. KPRP and KENLAYER were used to analyze the commonalities and predict the remaining life. Data on real cost is used to select an appropriate construction method through economic analysis. RESULTS : The economic efficiency of concrete pavement ($15{\times}15$) was the highest in terms of economic efficiency of performance life and traffic volume. In the case of asphalt pavement, it is considered that the most economical method is to implement micro-surfacing method four times as a preventive maintenance method (once every 10 years and 4.5 years for asphalt concrete pavement and MS construction method, respectively). Repairable asphalt pavement is advantageous for areas where heavy vehicles are expected to pass. In the case of other general areas, it is considered economical to place concrete ($15{\times}15$) pavement. However, as analytical results on its performance life are unavailable, it is to be considered for study in the future. CONCLUSIONS : This study proposed interim design guidelines based on various domestic and international design guidelines and case studies. However, in order to develop the final design criteria applicable to the field, it is necessary to (a) estimate the bearing capacity of the lower level of the pavement at various sites, (b) estimate the daily traffic volume, (c) implement advanced low-cost pavement technologies, and (d) propose maintenance standards and techniques for long-term performance.

  • Porthole die extrusion is the method which put the billet in the container and push it between die hole by ram. This method make it possible that product manufacture which have complex shape of area with excellent induction of area, in addition that this is economical. So this method is used as the basic manufacturing method of many industrial materials. The subject of this research is the forming technology development of heat sink which is being produced by extrusion process in my country. Flow condition of extrusion for heat sink, and metal flow of billet in the die are estimated by the means of rigid-plasticity finite element method.

  • The internal construction industry is not situation of cost reduction based on low wages anymore by the increase in wages as insufficient supply of stilled workers. Recently remodeling constructions that only need to change facilities as to stay the existing structures are on the increase. Now the method of piping facility used to remodeling construction needs stilled workers, large work space and a variety of tools. These complex construction process have a difficulty of high-quality and economical construction. In addition it have the hish incidence of warranty and a problem of cost increase as a commitment of manpower by warranty repair. In order to solve these problems it is necessary for appropriate new technology to the internal construction environment. Piping fittings by Insert & Coupling Joint is a method that unskilled workers can be easily constructed though one touch set up and it is convenient to maintain for repair work of piping facility. This technology show the effect of 3 percentages labor cost reduction as compared with piping fittings by press joint on apartment 500 households. Therefore this technology is supposed that attain a cost reduction though the technical and economical construction and a client satisfaction though the high-quality construction on the present construction market.

  • In this study ship collision risk analysis is performed to determine the design vessel for collision impact analysis of the maritime bridge. Method II which is a more complicated probability based analysis procedure is used to select the design vessel for collision impact. The AF allocation by weights seems to be more reasonable than the pylon concentration allocation method because this AF allocation takes the design parameter characteristics quantitatively into consideration although the pylon concentration allocation method brings more economical results when the overestimated design collision strength of piers compared to the strength of pylon is moderately modified.
