Analysis of University Cafeteria Safety Based on Pathfinder Simulation

  • Recent years have seen a notable increase in fire incidents in university cafeterias, yet the social attention to these occurrences remains limited. Despite quick responses to these incidents preventing loss of life, the need for large-scale evacuation in such high foot traffic areas can cause significant disruptions, economic losses, and panic among students. The potential for stampedes and unpredictable damage during inadequate evacuations underscores the importance of fire safety and evacuation research in these settings. Previous studies have explored evacuation models in various university environments, emphasizing the influence of environmental conditions, personal characteristics, and behavioral patterns on evacuation efficiency. However, research specifically focusing on university cafeterias is scarce. This paper addresses this gap by employing Pathfinder software to analyze fire spread and evacuation safety in a university cafeteria. Pathfinder, an advanced emergency evacuation assessment system, offers realistic 3D simulations, crucial for intuitive and scientific evacuation analysis. The studied cafeteria, encompassing three floors and various functional areas, often exceeds a capacity of 1500 people, primarily students, during peak times. The study includes constructing a model of the cafeteria in Pathfinder and analyzing evacuation scenarios under different fire outbreak conditions on each floor. The paper sets standard safe evacuation criteria (ASET > RSET) and formulates three distinct evacuation scenarios, considering different fire outbreak locations and initial evacuation times on each floor. The simulation results reveal the impact of the fire's location and the evacuation preparation time on the overall evacuation process, highlighting that fires on higher floors or longer evacuation preparation times tend to reduce overall evacuation time.In conclusion, the study emphasizes a multifaceted approach to improve evacuation safety and efficiency in educational settings. Recommendations include expanding staircase widths, optimizing evacuation routes, conducting regular drills, strengthening command during evacuations, and upgrading emergency facilities. The use of information and communication technology for managing emergencies is also suggested. These measures collectively form a comprehensive framework for ensuring safety in educational institutions during fire emergencies.

베이비붐 세대의 노후 사회참여 의향 예측요인에 관한 연구 (Study on Forecasting Factors of Baby Boomer's Social Participation Desire After Retirement)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 베이비붐 세대를 대상으로 노후 사회참여 의향 예측요인을 파악하는데 있다. 이를 위해 성별과 거주지에 따른 할당표본을 한 강현정(2012)의 데이터 1115부를 분석에 이용하였다. 첫째, 현재의 사회참여는 경제활동 77.7%, 자원봉사활동 27.0%, 여가활동 79.3%로 경제활동과 여가활동에 비해 자원봉사활동에의 참여가 상당히 낮았다. 그러나 노후 사회참여 의향은 경제활동 80.9%, 자원봉사활동 76.7%, 여가활동 82.2%로 고른 분포를 보였다. 둘째, 현재 사회참여를 하는 베이비붐 세대는 노후에도 사회참여를 하려는 의향이 높았다. 그런데 현재는 사회참여를 하지 않으나 노후에는 사회참여를 하고자 하는 베이비붐 세대가 경제활동의 경우에는 55.8%, 자원봉사활동의 경우에는 70.6%, 여가활동의 경우에는 66.5%였다. 셋째, 현재 사회참여여부가 노후 사회참여 의향의 가장 강력한 예측변인이었다. 이러한 결과를 지속성의 이론의 관점에서 논의하였으며, 노후 삶의 만족도에 중요 변수로 알려진 사회참여를 활성화시키기 위해서는 중년기부터의 준비가 필요하다는 점을 제안하였다.

장기미집행공원 개발에 따른 도시 식생 탄소 흡수량에 미치는 영향 및 경제적 가치 평가 (Impact Assessment of Vegetation Carbon Absorption and Economic Valuation Under Long-term Non-executed Urban Park Development)

  • 2020년 일몰제가 시행되면서 장기미집행공원 개발에 대한 우려가 제기되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 장기미집행공원이 개발됨에 따라 소실되는 탄소량과 경제적 가치를 평가하여 장기미집행공원 개발에 따른 영향 최소화 방안 도출에 근거를 제공하고자 한다. 본 연구에서는 FSDAF 시공간 영상융합기법과 CASA-NPP 모형을 활용하여 서울시 내 장기미집행공원의 연평균 NPP를 산정하고, 이를 바탕으로 5개의 개발 시나리오에 따라 소실되는 탄소량과 경제적 손실을 평가하였다. 서울시 내 개발제한구역을 제외한 장기미집행공원의 총 NPP 값은 4,892.18 t C로 나타났으며, 개발 시나리오 1에서는 4,892.18 t C, 개발 시나리오 2에서는 2,548.55 t C, 개발 시나리오 3에서는 238.94 t C, 개발 시나리오 4에서는 848.38 t C, 개발되는 시나리오 5에서는 1,596.00 t C의 탄소가 소실될 것으로 나타났으며, 각각 5개의 개발 시나리오에 따른 탄소의 사회적 비용을 계산하면 약 11억 8천만원, 6억 1천만원, 5천 8백만원, 2억 5백만원, 3억 8천 5백만원이며 개발로 인해 해당금액의 경제적 손실이 발생할 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과는 5개의 개발 시나리오를 바탕으로 장기미집행공원의 탄소 손실량과 경제적 손실을 평가하였다는데 의의가 있으며, 일몰제 이후 개발가능성이 높은 장기미집행공원 내 산림생태기능에 대한 영향 최소화 방안 마련, 개발 대안의 기초자료로 활용되기를 기대한다.

간호원의 환자교육 활동에 관한 연구 (Study of Patient Teaching in The Clinical Area)

  • Nursing of today has as one of its objectives the solving of problems related to human needs arising from the demands of a rapidly changing society. This nursing objective, I believe, can he attained by the appropriate application of scientific principles in the giving of comprehensive nursing care. Comprehensive nursing care may be defined as nursing care which meets all of the patient's needs. the needs of patients are said to fall into five broad categories: physical needs, psychological needs, environmental needs, socio-economic needs, and teaching needs. Most people who become ill have adjustment problems related to their new situation. Because patient teaching is one of the most important functions of professional nursing, the success of this teaching may be used as a gauge for evaluating comprehensive nursing care. This represents a challenge foe the future. A questionnaire consisting of 67 items was distributed to 200 professional nurses working ill direct patient care at Yonsei University Medical Center in Seoul, Korea. 160 (80,0%) nurses of the total sample returned completed questionnaires 81 (50.6%) nurses were graduates of 3 fear diploma courser 79 (49.4%) nurses were graduates of 4 year collegiate nursing schools in Korea 141 (88,1%) nurses had under 5 years of clinical experience in a medical center, while 19 (11.9%) nurses had more than 5years of clinical experience. Three hypotheses were tested: 1. “Nurses had high levels of concept and knowledge toward patient teaching”-This was demonstrated by the use of a statistical method, the mean average. 2. “Nurses graduating from collegiate programs and diploma school programs of nursing show differences in concepts and knowledge toward patient teaching”-This was demonstrated by a statistical method, the mean average, although the results showed little difference between the two groups. 3. “Nurses having different amounts of clinical experience showed differences in concepts and knowledge toward patient teaching”-This was demonstrated by the use of a statistical method, the mean average. 2. “Nurses graduating from collegiate programs and diploma school programs of nursing show differences in concepts and knowledge toward patient teaching”-This was demonstrated by a statistical method, the mean average, although the results showed little difference between the two groups. 3. “Nurses having different amounts of clinical experience showed differences in concepts and knowledge toward patient teaching”-This was demonstrated by the use of the T-test. Conclusions of this study are as follow: Before attempting the explanation, of the results, the questionnaire will he explained. The questionnaire contained 67 questions divided into 9 sections. These sections were: concept, content, time, prior preparation, method, purpose, condition, evaluation, and recommendations for patient teaching. 1. The nurse's concept of patient teaching: Most of the nurses had high levels of concepts and knowledge toward patient teaching. Though nursing service was task-centered at the turn of the century, the emphasis today is put on patient-centered nursing. But we find some of the nurses (39.4%) still are task-centered. After, patient teaching, only a few of the nurses (14.4%) checked this as “normal teaching.”It seems therefore that patient teaching is often done unconsciously. Accordingly it would he desirable to have correct concepts and knowledge of teaching taught in schools of nursing. 2. Contents of patient teaching: Most nurses (97.5%) had good information about content of patient teaching. They teach their patients during admission about their diseases, tests, treatments, and before discharge give nurses instruction about simple nursing care, personal hygiene, special diets, rest and sleep, elimination etc. 3. Time of patient teaching: Teaching can be accomplished even if there is no time set aside specifically for it. -a large part of the nurse's teaching can be done while she is giving nursing care. If she believes she has to wait for time free from other activities, she may miss many teaching opportunities. But generally proper time for patient teaching is in the midmorning or midafternoon since one and a half or two hours required. Nurses meet their patients in all stages of health: often tile patient is in a condition in which learning is impossible-pain, mental confusion, debilitation, loss of sensory perception, fear and anxiety-any of these conditions may preclude the possibility of successful teaching. 4. Prior preparation for patient teaching: The teaching aids, nurses use are charts (53.1%), periodicals (23.8%), and books (7.0%) Some of the respondents (28.1%) reported that they had had good preparation for the teaching which they were doing, others (27.5%) reported adequate preparation, and others (43.8%) reported that their preparation for teaching was inadequate. If nurses have advance preparation for normal teaching and are aware of their objectives in teaching patients, they can do effective teaching. 5. Method of patient teaching: The methods of individual patient teaching, the nurses in this study used, were conversation (55.6%) and individual discussion (19.2%) . And the methods of group patient teaching they used were demonstration (42.3%) and lecture (26.2%) They should also he prepared to use pamphlet and simple audio-visual aids for their teaching. 6. Purposes of patient teaching: The purposes of patient teaching is to help the patient recover completely, but the majority of the respondents (40.6%) don't know this. So it is necessary for them to understand correctly the purpose of patient teaching and nursing care. 7. Condition of patient teaching: The majority of respondents (75.0%) reported there were some troubles in teaching uncooperative patients. It would seem that the nurse's leaching would be improved if, in her preparation, she was given a better understanding of the patient and communication skills. The majority of respondents in the total group, felt teaching is their responsibility and they should teach their patient's family as well as the patient. The place for teaching is most often at the patient's bedside (95.6%) but the conference room (3.1%) is also used. It is important that privacy be provided in learning situations with involve personal matters. 8. Evaluation of patient teaching: The majority of respondents (76.3%,) felt leaching is a highly systematic and organized function requiring special preparation in a college or university, they have the idea that teaching is a continuous and ever-present activity of all people throughout their lives. The suggestion mentioned the most frequently for improving preparation was a course in patient teaching included in the basic nursing program. 9. Recommendations: 1) It is recommended, that in clinical nursing, patient teaching be emphasized. 2) It is recommended, that insertive education the concepts and purposes of patient teaching he renewed for all nurses. In addition to this new knowledge, methods and materials which can be applied to patient teaching should be given also. 3) It is recommended, in group patient teaching, we try to embark on team teaching.

  • 필자(筆者)는 1981년(年) 파리, 1983년(年) 마닐라에서 개최되었던 CGMW 회의(會議)에 참석(參席)함을 계기로 세계공통(世界共通)의 제작규약(製作規約)을 준수(遵守)해 가면서 대한지질도(大韓地質圖) 및 한국의 지체구조도(地體構造圖)를 기본도(基本圖)로 하여 그간의 광상조사연구자료중(鑛床調査硏究資料中) 444개(個) 주요대상광상(主要對象鑛床)을 선정(選定), 이들 자료(資料)를 정리종합(整理綜合) 분류(分類)하여 1983년(年)에 한국의 광상생성도(鑛床生成圖)를 발간(發刊)(한국동력자원연구소(韓國動力資源硏究所))한 바 있다. 처음 시도(試圖)된 일이었을 뿐 아니라 대상개개(對象個個) 광상(鑛床)의 정밀조사자료(精密調査資料)가 부족(不足)하여 흡족(洽足)하지 못하였음에 차후(次後) 보다 보완(補完)된 충실(充實)한 내용(內容)의 광상생성도(鑛床生成圖)를 기대(期待)하여 마지 않는다.

한국의 금융 발전이 성장에 미친 영향: 외부금융의존도와 성장기회 경로가 한국의 산업 성장에 미치는 미시적 효과를 중심으로 (Relationship between Financial Development and Growth: Focusing on the Effect of Industry Dependence on External Finance and Industry Growth Opportunities)

  • 최근의 금융 부문 스펙트럼 확대 및 실물과의 연계 심화는 한국 산업의 지속적 성장에 큰 변수로 부상하고 있다. 이에 따라 본 연구에서는 그 동안 한국의 금융 발전이 경제 성장을 견인하였는가와 금융 부문이 발전함에 따라 '외부금융의존도'와 '성장기회'라는 요인들이 한국의 산업별 성장에 효율적으로 기여하였는가를 각각 거시적 미시적 측면에서 실증 분석하였다. 우선, 한국 금융 발전과 경제 성장에 대한 거시적 분석 결과, 한국의 금융 발전은 성장을 일방향적으로 cause할 뿐 아니라 유의미한 동태적 성장기여 효과를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 다음으로 '외부금융의존도'와 '성장기회'라는 대표적 경로들에 대한 산업 차원의 미시적 패널 분석을 실시한 결과 금융 발전에 따른 '외부금융의존도'의 확대가 성장에 미치는 효과는 분석 기간별로 다르게 나타났으나 금융 발전과 '성장기회'확대의 상호 작용은 분석 기간에 관계없이 지속적으로 성장에 정(+)의 유의미한 효과를 미쳐 왔음을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 향후, 지속적이고 안정적인 경제 성장을 위해서는 선도적 금융 전략 마련을 위한 노력 및 적극적인 성장기회 포착이 중요하다는 점을 내포한다. 반면, 앞으로 산업 내 외부금융 조달 정도는 적정 임계수준을 초과하지 않도록 유지될 필요가 있음을 또한 시사한다.

기초봉제 학습자의 자기효능감이 수업만족도에 미치는 영향 (The Influences of Learners' Self-efficacy on Class Satisfaction in Learning Practical Basic Sewing)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the influences of learners' self-efficacy on class satisfaction in learning practical basic sewing. Questionnaires were distributed to 181 college women students living in the areas of Deagu Metropolitan City and Gyeongbuk Province. The data obtained were analyzed by using various statistical tools: frequency, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression. The self efficacy of learners of practical basic sewing were made up of five factors: ability to manage interpersonal relationships, ability to deal with assigned tasks, anxiety, challenging spirit, and fear. Class satisfaction was composed of the following factors such as interest in class, professors' ability, achievement of class objectives, connectivity, preparation for class, preference for practices, and perfectibility. This study indicated the correlations between sub-variables of learners' self efficacy and class satisfaction. In other words, the higher were the levels of ability to manage interpersonal relationships, and ability to deal with assigned tasks in self efficacy, the higher were the levels of interest in class, professors' ability, achievement of class objectives, preference for practices, and perfectibility in class satisfaction. The factors of ability to deal with assigned tasks, anxiety, and challenging spirit, in learners' self efficacy were found to have statistically significant effects on the achievement of class objectives. The factor of ability to deal with assigned tasks in self efficacy had a statistically significant influence on professors' ability. The factors of ability to deal with assigned tasks, anxiety, challenging spirit and fear were found to have statistically significant effects on all the factors of class satisfaction.

고령장애인의 경제적 및 건강 특성과 삶의 만족도 관계에 대한 자아존중감의 매개효과 (Mediating Effect of Self-esteem on the Relationship between Economic, Health Characteristics and Life Satisfaction of Elderly People with Disability)

  • 본 연구는 고령장애인의 삶의 만족도를 높이기 위한 방안을 찾기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다. 이를 위해 경제적 특성과 건강 특성이 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향과 자아존중감의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 분석은 장애인고용패널 7차 자료를 활용하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 고령장애인의 삶의 만족도에는 취업유무, 노후준비, 현재 건강상태, 일상생활 타인도움 여부, 만성질병 여부가 유의미하였다. 둘째, 경제적 특성 중 노후준비, 건강 특성 중 현재 건강상태와 일상생활타인도움 필요 여부와 삶의 만족도와의 관계에서 자아존중감이 매개효과를 갖는 것으로 나타났다. 노후준비와 건강상태 그리고 일상생활에서의 타인 도움이 필요없을 경우 자아존중감이 높아지면서 삶의 만족도를 높여준다는 것을 알 수 있었다, 이러한 분석 결과를 바탕으로 정책 대안을 제시하였다.

6가크롬 오염토양 정화기술 현장적용성 연구 (Field Applications Study on the Validation of Remediation Technology for Chromium(VI) Contaminated Soil)

  • Currently, the pursuit of industrialization for rapid economic growth has led to serious environmental damage and related problems because of comtamination with chemicals. Over time, this contaminaion is getting worse and worse. Most developing countries have tried to pursue their economic development and growth, however without preparation for the control and disposal of hazardous wastes. Permitting hazardous waste to be abandoned and disposed in appropriately causes soil pollution, groundwater contamination, and surface water contamination, which are all extremely serious. In particular, when hazardous wastes which include toxic chemicals are distributed around the living environment even in small amounts, concentration can occur in the food chain through ecological systems, which can therefore affect human. Chromium(VI) has contaminated soil in China. We experimented to test the immobilization, chemical reduction, and soil washing methods in order to make our experiment efficient in the purification of soil contaminated with Chromium(VI), and to prove the theoretical models by experiments testing the field applications. The field experiment showed that result of experiment satisfied with the standards of China. The result of multi-stage continuous remediation reduce the Chromium(VI) concentration to 11.95 mg/kg and 14.83 mg/kg that were equivalent to 98% and 97% removal rates. This result implied we could apply multi-stage process of Chromium(VI) contaminated soil to meet the regulatory limit of Chromium(VI).

교양회계 과목이 재무이해력 수준에 미치는 효과 분석 (Case Study of the Effects of Liberal Accounting for Financial Literacy)

  • 자본시장에서 올바른 경제적 의사결정을 위해서는 재무이해력에 대한 수준을 향상시킬 필요성이 제기되어 왔으며, 선진국을 중심으로 재무적 문제에 대한 대응력을 키우고 경제적 환경변화에 대처하기 위해 재무이해력 교육을 강화시켜왔다. 본 연구에서는 K대 학생들의 재무이해력 수준 향상이라는 목표를 가지고 시행한 교양회계 교육이 효과가 있는지 분석하였다. 교양회계 과목을 개설한 후 각 단계별로 테스트를 거쳐 재무이해력 수준의 효과를 분석하였다. 분석결과 교양회계 과목 교육 후 학생들의 재무이해력 수준이 높아짐을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 재무이해력 향상을 위해 교양회계 과목 교육의 실효성이 높다는 것을 의미하며, 각 학교에서 재무이해력 증진 프로그램 마련 시 교양회계 과목이 유용함을 보여주는 결과이다.
