농촌 지역 심뇌혈관질환 노인의 건강정보이해능력과 건강행위 (Health Literacy and Health Behaviors among Older Adults with Cardio-cerebrovascular Disease Residing in Rural Areas)

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to identify levels of health literacy and reported health behaviors among older adults with cardio-cerebrovascular disease residing in rural areas. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted with a convenience sample of 134 older people (mean age=75.5 years, 71.6% Female) registered at seven health centers. The structured questionnaires were used to measure levels of health literacy and health behaviors. Results: The average functional health literacy score was $6.08{\pm}3.04$, and the health behavior score was $62.92{\pm}6.45$. Respectively health behavior was positively associated with health literacy. Education, economic status, number of family members, number of social activities and health literacy were contribution factors explaining 40.64% of the variance in health behavior. Health literacy specifically explained 12.5% of health behavior. Conclusion: These findings suggest that strategies for improving health behaviors and reducing health inequalities may benefit from adopting a stronger focus on health literacy within prevention, patient education, and other public health interventions. Further longitudinal studies are needed to help confirm that improving health literacy in the elderly may be effective in changing health behaviors.

The Relationship Between Debt Literacy and Peer-To-Peer Lending: A Case Study in Indonesia

  • This paper discusses the relationship between debt literacy, peer-to-peer lending, and over-indebtedness in Indonesia. It is essential because the number of loans on this platform continues to increase, both legal and illegal. Data was collected online in collaboration with commercial market research firms, JajakPendapat.net. Debt literacy and over-indebtedness were measured by self-assessment with questions from Lusardi and Tufano (2009a). Questions for debt literacy are about interest compounding, debt interest, and the application of time value of money in payment options. The question for over-indebtedness is about the amount of debt and the conditions resulting from that debt. By using descriptive methods, it is clear that the majority of respondents, both borrowers and non-peer-to-peer lending borrowers are debt illiterate, and those who have poor debt literacy have huge debt. Overall, only 1.85% of the respondents were debt literate. Those who live on the island of Java have better literacy because they are the center of economic growth in Indonesia. Debt from peer-to-peer (P2P) lending also has the potential to create problems, namely over-indebtedness. P2P lending borrowers also have very poor debt literacy. However, there is no difference in debt literacy between P2P lending borrowers and non-P2P lending borrowers.

정보소양과 경제윤리의 실태와 경제교육 과제 (A Survey Research on the Economic Ethics and Information Literacy)

  • The topic of this study is a survey research about the economic recognition related to economic ethics and information literacy of students(6,779) extend from elementary school to university. First, for the ability to use computers, it is recognizing that 49.6% of students are normal, 38.6% are superior, and 12.8% are inferior. In part of class, it tends to recognize that it is the superior as the level of school is the lower excepting middle school students. Second, we can find great difference between male students and female students related to purpose of using internet, 79.8% of male students are using computer to play game or entertainment(1), search data or knowledge(2), chatting or massenger(3), 70.1% of female students are using internet to search data or knowledge(1), chatting or massenger(2) and meeting of similar taste. Third, it shows a tendency that the economic activity using internet or cell-phone increases faster as the level of schools is higher. In detail, they primarily use buying or settlement of products(63%), purchasing internet service(20.9%). Fourth, for using illegal CD, not only they didn't feel guilty in all levels of schools, excepting university students, it is showed that the trust of intellectual poverty right is weaker as the level of schools is higher. So, it is becoming serious problems. It seems a task which should be supplemented through economic education of schools in the future.

The Importance of Financial Literacy: Household's Income Mobility Measurement and Decomposition Approach

  • This study introduced income mobility analysis using pseudo-longitudinal panel data from Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) to consider the dynamic process of individual's well-being through time. Since there is no comprehensive measurement of income mobility because of its dynamic process, various income mobility indices such as Chi-square, Average Jump Index, Atkinson et al. Mobility Ratio, and Shorrocks' Mobility Index were used. These indices revealed that Filipino households' income movements are more mobile than expected, and their income status improved from 2000 to 2015. As income mobility takes place, income inequality is reduced by 91.80 percent (91.80%). Furthermore, the growth effect is the main factor of income mobility. This indicates that households took the economic opportunities from economic growth to earn more. However, income mobility due to transfer effect (transfer of income from one household to another through lottery winning and borrowing) increased when the economy is not good. The higher income mobility due to growth effect compared to transfer effect, whether the economy is good or bad, means that households learned how to use their income in savings, investments, and entrepreneurship. This is the result of a successful financial literacy program of the government wherein households realized financial stability and security.

교육격차와 정보활용능력의 상관관계 연구 - 『도서관과 정보생활』교과의 I·II 영역을 중심으로 - (A Correlation between the Education Gap and Information Literacy)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 학생이 가진 경제적 여건의 차이, 즉 교육격차에 따른 기초적 정보활용능력의 상관관계를 분석하는 데에 있다. 이를 위해 첫째, 학교별 정보활용교육 경험의 차를 통제할 수 있는 고등학교 1학년 629명을 대상으로 3월에 정보활용능력에 대한 자기 평가를 실시하였다. 더불어 학교 정보공시에 제시되는 학교별 고교 학비 지원 학생 비율로 학생들의 경제적 여건에 따른 학교별 교육격차를 확인하였다. 그리고 교육격차와 정보활용능력 간 상관관계를 분석하였다. 그 결과, 학교별 고교 학비 지원 학생 비율로 설명할 수 있는 교육격차와 정보활용능력 간에 통계적으로 유의미한 음의 상관관계를 강하게 갖는 것으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 교육격차가 정보활용능력에 미치는 영향 관계를 분석하기 위해 "도서관과 정보생활" 교과의 I II 영역별 회귀분석을 실시하고 교육격차에 따른 정보활용능력 점수의 회귀방정식을 도출했다. 이러한 연구 결과는 정보활용능력 격차를 완화시켜 갈 학교도서관의 교육적 역할을 강조하는 근거로 활용할 수 있을 것이다. 그리고 체계적 정보활용교육의 제도화를 통해 이상적인 수준의 정보활용능력과 자기주도적 학습력 함양으로 교육격차를 보다 직접적이고 효율적으로 해소하는 발판이 될 수 있도록 해야 할 것이다.

보건학전공 대학생의 e헬스 리터러시가 건강행위에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of e-Health literacy on Health Behavior in Health Science Majors)

  • Objectives: This study aimed identify of the level and effect of the e-health literacy and health behavior in health science majors Methods: The data was collected from March 5 to March 15, 2018 for student majoring in health science at a university in the C city. The data were analyzed with the SPSS 21.0. Results: First, the e-health literacy were statistically significant in grades (F=5.769, p=0.001), health interest (F=10.553, p<0.001) and health care time (F=3.841, p=0.023), and health behavior were statistically significant in subjective health condition (F=5.476, p=0.05), health interest (F=16.716, p<0.001), and health care time (F=28.479, p<0.001). Second, the e-health literacy were correlated with grades, health care time, economic level and health interest, and health behavior were related to health care time, e-health literacy, subjective health condition and health interest. Third, health behavior related factors were health care time, e-health literacy, grades, subjective health condition, and health interest. Conclusion: The related knowledge and skills should be applied to basic classes in order to ensure that health science majors care can accurately utilize the information on the e-health.

A Study on the Perception of Librarians of the Impact that Libraries Have on Society

  • This study comprehensively analyzed domestic and foreign literature related to the value and impact of libraries on education, social behavior and economic conditions, developed a survey to investigate the librarians' perception of the libraries' value and impact, and accordingly investigated the perception of librarians according to the types of libraries in which they worked, public versus university. The results showed that the impact is greatest on education and literacy with a mean score of 3.98, followed by their social impact with 3.67 and their economic impact with 3.46. When subordinate items were analyzed it was found that the librarians perceived that the role that libraries are playing in the education area is expanding and their impact on reading and literacy is becoming greater and greater. Libraries were viewed as essential elements for education and the education system. When the difference in perception related to the impact of libraries was compared by types of libraries, the librarians in public libraries tended to rate their facilities higher than the librarians working in universities on most of the items.

노인 심부전 환자의 건강 문해력에 따른 심부전 지식과 자가 간호 (Relationships between Health Literacy, Knowledge and Self-Care Behaviors in Elderly Patients with Heart Failure)

  • Purpose: This study was to investigate the relationships between among health literacy, knowledge and self-care behavior in elderly patients with heart failure(HF). Methods: 166 patients (age ${\geq}65$ years) with HF were recruited in a cardiovascular center of an university affiliated hospital. The structured questionnaire included Health literacy, Dutch Heart Failure Knowledge Scale, European Heart Failure Self-care Behavior, Self-Care of Heart Failure Index. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Chi-test, Pearson correlation analysis, t-test and ANCOVA using SPSS/WIN version 21.0. Results: Participants with the high level of health literacy were more likely to be younger (p=.001), men (p=.001), with more education (p<.001), and have a job (p=.004), and with a higher economic status (p=.005). The positive correlations between the level of health literacy, knowledge, and self-care behavior were confirmed (p<.001). Participants with the high level of health literacy showed higher level of knowledge, more self-care behavior for health maintenance, and confidence. Conclusion: This study shows that the level of health literacy may influence knowledge and self-care behavior in elderly patients with HF. In order to improve self-care behaviors in elderly patients, a strategic nursing approach based on the level of patients' health literacy needs to be considered.

대학생의 경제성향 및 경제이해도에 관한 실증연구: 경기지역의 2-3년제 대학생을 중심으로 (An Analysis of Research on Economic Attitude and Economic Literacy of College Students: Focusing on College Students in Gyeonggi Province)

  • 본 연구는 2-3년제 대학의 재학생 및 1년이내 졸업생을 대상으로 경제성향 및 경제이해도를 실증분석하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 경제성향 중 합리성은 경제과목을 수강한 학생, 경제에 대한 관심이 높은 학생, 졸업생, 성적이 높은 학생들이 상대적으로 합리성이 높은 것으로 분석되었다. 둘째, 관심도는 수강경험이 있고 주로 교과서를 통해 정보를 취득하는 것으로 분석돼 학생들의 경제 관련 관심은 교육을 통해 나타나는 것으로 보인다. 셋째, 전문대 대학생의 경제이해도는 낮은 수준을 보이는 것으로 분석되며, 수강여부와 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 경제과목을 수강한 학생들은 합리성 및 관심도가 높게 나타났으나 경제이해도를 향상시키는 요인으로 작용하진 않았다. 이는 경제 교육이 개인의 경제적 성향에는 긍정적으로 작용하나 경제이해도까지 이어지지 못하는 것으로 보이며, 학생들이 자발적으로 언론매체나 뉴스 등을 통해 경제문제에 관심을 갖고, 경제 관심이 경제이해도를 향상시키는 결과로 이어질 수 있도록 필수적인 기본개념과 현실경제를 연관시켜 교육을 제공할 필요가 있다. 경제는 어려운 과목이라는 인식을 개선시키는데 방법론적 변화가 필요하며, 수업방식에 있어 이론 중심의 교육이 아닌 현실 경제를 접목시켜 학생들이 자발적으로 언론매체나 뉴스 등을 통해 경제문제에 관심을 갖도록 유도해야 한다.

중장년 북한이탈주민의 금융이해력과 노후금융준비에 대한 경로분석 (Financial Literacy and Financial Preparedness for Retirement among Middle Aged North Korea Defectors: Using a Path Analysis)

  • 본 연구는 중장년 북한이탈주민의 노후금융준비에 영향을 미치는 요소들을 '금융이해력'과 '금융포용성' 개념을 활용해 분석하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 설문대상자는 경기도 하안동과 노원구 공릉동 부근에 거주하는 40~60세 북한이탈주민들로 비확률표본추출방법인 목적적 표본추출법(purposive sampling)을 통해 선정했다. 총 100명이 설문에 응답하였고, 분석방법은 경로분석방법을 사용하였다. 연구결과에 의하면 통계적으로 유의한 수준에서 중장년 북한이탈주민의 노후금융준비는 금융이해력 증가에 양(+)의 직접효과가 나타났다. 또한 부트스트랩방법에 의하면 금융포용성은 금융이해력과 노후금융준비관계에서 매개효과가 확인되었다. 하지만 북한이탈주민의 경제적 수준에 따라 금융이해력이 노후금융준비에 미치는 영향의 경로가 다르게 나타났다. 즉, 저소득 집단은 금융이해력과 노후금융준비의 관계에서 금융포용성의 매개효과만이, 평균소득이상 집단에서는 금융이해력과 노후금융준비간의 직접효과만이 통계적으로 유의하였다. 이상 결과에 근거하여 중장년 북한이탈주민의 안정적 노후를 준비하기 위한 소득수준별 맞춤형 금융교육의 필요성, 노후금융상품의 개발, 금융사회복지사제도의 도입 등 정책적 실천적 방안을 제시하였다.
