개발제한구역 내 생태공원 조성방안에 관한 연구 - 서식처 및 생태통로로서의 기능강화를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Development of an Ecological Park Planning Model to Enhance the Functions of Habitats and Ecological Corridors in Green Belt Areas)

  • This study was conducted to develop an ecological park planning model to enhance the functions of habitats and ecological corridors in Green Belt Areas, because changing policies have resulted in the degredation of the Green Belts due to progressive fragmentation of ecosystems. The principal outcome of the study is to plan an ecological park model through the restoration of habitats. In order to evaluate the capacity of the model to enhance the ecological functions of habitats and ecological corridors in Green Belt Areas, a simulation of habitats was carried out in the Sungnam-Yusoo region. The model was developed via following steps: 1. Selection of candidate sites and selection of the study site by analyzing development factors; 2. Selection of target species that can represent the habitat at the site; 3. Analysis of the site's suitability index for the target species; 4. Establishment of a conceptual plan to enhance and expand the currently produced suitability index; 5. Creation of a master plan based on the conceptual plan; and 6. Evaluation of the enhanced and expanded suitability index of the site. The study showed that the Habitat Unit (HU) of Rana coreana, which was selected as the target species of the study, increased from $28,044m^2$(3.6%) to $224,352m^2$(28.8%), and the HU of the site as the ecological corridor for wild animals increased from $4,674m^2$(0.6%) to $152,684m^2$(19.6%). The study results show that the ecological deficits of the Green Belt Area can be overcome by enhancing the ecological functions of the region, which should be beneficial. The model could be utilized for effective enhancement and management of other Green Belt Areas.

농촌지역과 소도시간 학교 생태연못 특성 비교분석에 관한 연구 (A Comparative Study on the Ecological Pond in School between rural area and small town)

  • This study aims to investigate and analyze the actual conditions of the ecological ponds built in the campus sites of the elementary, middle and high schools which currently manage ecological ponds in order to find problems and directions for improvement concerning the management of the ponds as a way to build nature-friendly ecological ponds which can be used as an ecological work-study site on school campus: this study also intends to provide systematic and technological directions for the management and operation of the ecological pond. This study has selected 10 schools in North Chungcheong Province, where ponds are constructed, and investigated actual conditions of the ponds based on the survey, analysis, and evaluation standards compatible with the school environments, and finally judged the general relevancy of the ponds. The results of this study make us conclude that the most important issue to be considered in the processes of selection and investigation for school ecological pond is the location of the pond.

The Green Mode of Parks and Green Space Construction -a Study on the Exemplary Type of Ecological Landscape-

  • As for the green space construction of the modern parks, landscape design is not only for the aesthetics but its also to promote the spiritual connotation. The appearing of the exemplary type of ecological landscape reflects landscape architects have developed realization and wishes to improve the deteriorating environment and put them into practice. This paper introduces the basic intension of the exemplary type of ecological landscape, and discusses the relative background and ecological aesthetic foundation of the exemplary ecological landscape which appeared under the crisis of urban environment; lists the modern landscape designers practices of the exemplary ecological landscape; studies the developing trend of this practice which becomes multifold along with the reformation of city.

대구 지역 초등학교의 생태학습장 조성과 활용 (Making and Using an Ecological Learning-Place in Primary Schools in Daegu)

  • Because of the rapid industrialization and urbanization, urban dwellers are lack of opportunity to contact with nature, and hence alienated from it. In particular, primary school children who are very sensible to nature need more opportunities to learn nature by direct interactions with it. For this purpose, a movement for making and using ecological learning-place in play-ground within primary school. It has been found as a result of research on ecological learning-places in 7 primary schools in Daegu that such places, equipped with several ecological facilities, provide both pupils and local dwellers around schools with a place for ecological learning and for rest. But some of them have been left without care and hence can not be properly used, because of inappropriate site, insufficient facilities, and deficient programme for practical use. In conclusion, the paper reconfirms importance of ecological learning-place within grounds of primary school in terms of its educational, social and ecological effects, and suggests briefly some measures to encourage its construction and practical use.

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest an environmentally friendly system of ecological village with the reference to amish village, and also to make a proposal for application skill of ecological village. Ecological village is environmentally friendly lifestyle and an alternative plan of environmental pollution. There is growing international scientific consensus that human activities are having a discernible effect on the global climate. Up to now, the development of ecological village has been actively initiated and still continues by some venture farmers with a vision and strong will. These study results are definitely very conducive to spread ecological village knowledge among the public.

지속 가능한 개발 및 생태조경분야의 연구경향과 과제 (Issues and Trends concerning of Ecological Landscape Planning and Design with ESSD)

  • All Papers on Ecological Landscape Degign in KILA from 1973 to 2003 are listed herein for finding research issues and trends. The emerging field of Ecological studies of landscape design is based on Landscape Ecology and Watershed Ecology, the Principles of which can be applied to surveying and evaluation, Planning and design, construction and management focusing preservation of wildlife habitat and niche. This field can be classified into six categories: 1. Sustainable site planning and index, 2. Ecological planning process and regulation, 3. landscape ecology and biotope map, 4. Watershed and eco corridor project, 5. Urban forestry and environment, and 6. artificial ground and restoration ecology. The following is the summary of the findings from Paper review: 1. Sustainable index shall be studied about more specified sites. Water recycling facilities, and reservation wet land need to be studied. 2. Policy and legislation research on Ecological design shall be researched by expanding of the application field. Nature park planning and management fields shall be considered as the main theme of green networking Parts. 3. Landscape Ecological studies should be connected to practical surveying data, e.g. the eco-maps published by Environment Ministry. Traditional culture and science should be joined with the modem science. 4. Eco-corridor planning will go with the scenarios and theories of watershed ecology. 5. Urban forestry shall be studied with the wildlife's behavior and habitat. 6. Restoration engineering techniques should be reconsidered with the wildlife's existence and environmental affiliation.

생태중심 생명가치관 확립을 위한 환경윤리교육의 모형 개발에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Development of a Model in the Environmental Ethics Education for Eco-centred Life Values)

  • The purpose of this study is to research new paradigms of environmental ethics and environmental ethics education to overcome ecological crisis and to develop an alternative model of systematic environmental ethics education for establishing eco-centred life values. According to deep ecologists, they assert the necessity of basic reorientation of crucial components of present political, economic and social orders to overcome ecological crisis today. This means the movement from the mechanistic worldview to the ecological worldview and the shift from Dominant Social Paradigm(DSP) to New Ecological Paradigm(NEP). Environmental ethics education should be 'eco-centred environmental ethics education'which makes some contribution to overcome ecological crisis and to create new alternatives. Also it should be not a simple behavior change but 'eco-centred environmental ethics education', what is called, as 'ecological literacy education'which changes the views of values, thoughts and attitudes etc. In this, as a new social curriculum, 'ecological literacy education'means to cultivate the ability which can recognize environmental problems correctly and to overcome ecological crisis wisely we face with today. To perform this ecological environmental ethics education, we suggested 'eco-centred life values', we place a criterion of moral value judgment according to 'ecological conscience'on 'life', and we presented 'an alternative model of environmental ethics education' giving consideration to human being, nature and environment at the same time.

A case study of ECN data conversion for Korean and foreign ecological data integration

  • In recent decades, as it becomes increasingly important to monitor and research long-term ecological changes, worldwide attempts are being conducted to integrate and manage ecological data in a unified framework. Especially domestic ecological data in South Korea should be first standardized based on predefined common protocols for data integration, since they are often scattered over many different systems in various forms. Additionally, foreign ecological data should be converted into a proper unified format to be used along with domestic data for association studies. In this study, our interest is to integrate ECN data with Korean domestic ecological data under our unified framework. For this purpose, we employed our semi-automatic data conversion tool to standardize foreign data and utilized ground beetle (Carabidae) datasets collected from 12 different observatory sites of ECN. We believe that our attempt to convert domestic and foreign ecological data into a standardized format in a systematic way will be quite useful for data integration and association analysis in many ecological and environmental studies.

환경인자에 따른 소나무림의 생태적 지위에 관한 연구 (A Study on Ecological Niche of Pinus densiflora Forests according to the Environmental Factors)

  • 본 연구는 온대 남부, 중부, 북부지역의 소나무림을 대상으로 기상인자, 생육인자에 대해 생태적 지위폭(ecological niche breadth)을 분석하였으며, 향후 기후 변화에 따른 소나무림 분포에 미치는 환경 인자를 규명하기 위해 수행하였다. 2010년 9월부터 10월까지 강릉, 정선, 평창, 함양, 봉황, 영양, 울진, 의성 보성 9개 지역에 $20{\times}20m$의 방형구를 설치하여 수고, 흉고 직경, 지하고, 수관폭, 흉고단면적을 생육인자로 이용하였으며, 기상인자는 최저기온, 평균기온, 최고기온, 습도, 강수량을 조사지역에서 가장 가까운 관측소의 측정값을 이용하였다. 5가지 기상인자에 대한 생태적 지위폭은 습도를 제외한 기상인자에서 생태적 지위폭이 낮게 나타났으며, 기상변화에 따른 소나무의 분포역이 한정될 가능성이 높아지는 것으로 해석할 수 있다. 또한 강수량과 기온변화가 소나무림의 분포에 더 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 판단되며, 특히 최고기온의 경우 대부분의 조사지역에서 0.4이하의 낮은 생태적 지위폭을 보였다. 하지만 5가지 생육인자에 대한 생태적 지위폭은 모든 조사지역에서 높게 나타났으며, 이는 소나무가 환경변화에 적응하여 분포역이 넓다는 것을 의미하는 것으로 기상인자와는 상반되는 결과를 보였다. 이러한 결과의 원인은 생육인자의 경우 과거 안정된 환경에 적응하여 지속적으로 생장하였기 때문에 생육 내성의 범위가 커 소나무의 생태적 지위폭이 넓게 나타났으며, 반대로 기상인자의 경우 지속적인 지구온난화의 결과로서 소나무가 생육하기 어려운 조건으로 변하기 때문으로 판단되며, 향후 기온상승으로 인한 소나무림의 분포지역의 감소가 지속적으로 이루어질 것으로 전망된다.

국내의 생태복원기술 연구동향에 관한 사회네트워크분석 (Social Network Analysis on the Research Trend of Korean Ecological Restoration Technology)

  • We tried to analyze qualitatively a total of 110 the research papers which were related domestic ecological restoration technologies about 15 years through semantic network analysis in social network analysis. In order to understand the research trends of ecological restoration technologies, we analyzed the degree centrality and betweenness centrality of the Stream/Wetland, Slope, Soil/Others fields selected as Word Cloud. As a result, ecological restoration technologies have been changed. They were focused on the restoration of species or their habitats in the past. However, they have been evolved into the detailed systems to respond in unpredictable natural disasters and climate change, high-resolution image implementation technology to accurately grasp the practical environment and methods related to environmental restoration for human in urban ecosystem. In the future, investment and technology for the ecosystem restoration field will be continuously demanded for the symbiosis of human beings and species in the damaged ecosystem. Therefore, the research trend of ecological restoration technologies should be provided as reliable guidelines when decision makers establish the policy direction or when researchers select their subjects.
