  • As an essential means to the exploitation of new demands, the export of agri-food has the price-supporting effect on the domestic agri-food and its expansion can be a good way to increase farms' income. Of course, to enhance farms' income under the liberalization of the market, it is necessary to have countermeasures considering various factors. To this end, the study understood the experiences of farms doing exports and looked into ways to improve them by reviewing their motivations to export, difficulties, requirements, etc. In this context, the study conducted the purposive sampling among tomato export farmhouses in Jeongseon-gun in the export enforcement phase and executed the theme analysis. The research findings and suggestions are as follows. First, in order to enhance the level of commercialization of Jeongseon-gun tomatoes and reinforce the trade bargaining power, it is necessary to form the consensus on policy and make the scaling of the site based on the strong organization power. To this end, it requires the active role of agricultural cooperatives that take a big portion of distribution in the site and distribute its profits directly to farmhouses. Second, it is necessary to set clear target markets for Jeongseon-gun tomato export farms and set sales strategies for each target market. That is, in order to expand the export of Jeongseon-gun tomatoes, after clarifying local sales and export sales, export farmhouses should focus on quality management and secure the quantity for export. Third, to expand the export to Japan which already has the foundation for the export of Korean tomatoes, and to new export countries of China, Russia, etc., it is necessary to set the 'Two-Track Strategies for Export Market (particular item for focus and particular area for focus)' through the building of network of tomato export areas in Gangwon-do. In conclusion, to expand the export of Jeongseon-gun tomatoes, agricultural cooperatives and leaders together should build the strong organizational power with farmhouses and secure the quantities for export. And, according to the 'Two-Track Strategies for Export Market (particular item for focus and particular area for focus)', export infrastructure and export operational system should be built and to do so, the solidarity of tomato export farmhouses in Gangwon area should precede.

  • Korea has been free of malaria since the mid-1970s. Since the first malaria case was reported in 1993, the incidence of indigenous malaria has increased yearly, In this study, we planned to understand of malaria outbreak in the northern part of kyonggido. The subjects were a civilians except korean soldiers in the northern part of Kyonggido and the number of civilian malaria cases was 254 in 1997, 677 in 1998, 772 in 1999. The collected rates of Anopheles sinenis in 11 county from May to October were 10.1% to 85.1% and the monthly collected rates at June was highest. The incidence of malaria antibody according to the county was 5.4% in Paju-shi Tanhyun-myun 4.9% in Kapyong-gun Ha-myun, 3.0% in Yonchon-gun Yonchon-eup. etc. At the result of relationship between civilian cases and No. of A. sinenis, envionmental factor were showed high association.

  • An investigation on the floras of Osik island and its neighboring two islands, 13km west of Gunsan, showed that there were a total of 305 kinds belonging to 81 families, 132 genus, 259 species, 42 varieties, 4 formas. Of the 305 kinds collected 213 kinds were herb and 92 kinds were woody plant. Seven species of evergreen broad-leaved trees including Euonymus japonica T., Eurya japonica T. and Elaeagnus macrophylla T. etc. are listed in the Norae-sum and Ga-do. The vegetations of Norae-sum and Ga-do were more favorable than that of Osik-do which vegetation was destructed by human inerferences. Coastal plants in these areas were about 30 species. It is interest that the floras of these areas were very similar to that of Gogunsangun-do (r=0.97) inspite of adjacency to inland area.

  • This paper is the result of the study of diseases, treatments, and causes of death of Yunsan-Gun, King Jungjong, King Injong, and etc that are recorded in The Authentic Record of Chosun Dynasty. Yunsan-Gun died at the age of 31, two months after he was expelled to Kanghwa Island. His rage, regret and emotional disorder injured Wonki therefore, exopathogens easily affected and finally caused death. King Jungjong died of old age. King Injong was born with weak heart and stomach, and attack of sorrow among seven emotions, and failure of harmonious intake of food lead to death.

  • To investigate the food organisms of the Acanthogobius hasta during the juveniles stage, the stomach contents of fish, captured in the intertidal zone of Chungchong- nam-do Sochon-gun Su-myon Dodun-ri (Fig. 1) between on early June from end of May 2003, were observed. Total length of the juveniles of A. hasta was 5.5 mm ${\sim}$ 8.9 mm size, and the participation rate of feeding was 69.6%. Main food organisms were such as copepods, decapods, polychaete larvae, amphipods and these occupied more than dry weight 3.9%. Copepods among them dominated the most quantitys by average 62.7%, and next, food organisms appeared much by order of decapods, polychaete larvae and amphipods etc.. Therefore, most important food organisms of juvenile stage of A. hasta were copepods, decapods, polychaete larvae, amphipods etc.

  • Electrical conduction in soils depends on the grain site, compactness, humidity and etc. When a high current is injected into the soil, and the breakdown phenomenon occurs and electrical behaviors in the vicinity of grounding electrodes may be changed. In the present work, electrical behaviors in the vicinity of ground rod due to the injection of impulse current were investigated. Spark-over phenomena at the tip of ground rod depend on the grain size and kinds of soils.

  • During laser spot welding of the braun tube electron gun, phenomena such as serious spattering and oxidative reaction, etc. were occurred. The spatter occurred from weld pool affects the braun tube, namely it blocks up a very small hole on the shadow mask and causes short circuit between two roles of the electron gun. We guessed that high power density and oxidative reaction are main sources of these problems. So, we studied to prevent and to reduce spatter occurring in spot welding of the braun tube electron gun using pulsed Nd:YAG laser. The characteristics of laser output power was estimated, and the loss of laser energy by optical parameter and spatter was measured by powermeter. The effects of welding parameters, laser defocused distance and incident angle, were investigated on the shape and penetration depth of the laser welded bead in flare and flange joints. From these results, the laser peak power was a major factor to control penetration depth and to occur spatter. It was found that the losses of laser energy by optic parameter and sticked spatter affect seriously laser weldability of thin sheets. The deepest penetration depth is gotten on focal position, and a "bead transition" occurred with a slight displacement of focal position relative to the workpiece surface and the absorption rate of the laser energy is affected by the shape factor of the workpiece. When we changed the incident angle of laser beam, the penetration depth was decreased a little with increasing of the incident angle, and the bead width was increased. The spattering was prevented by considering laser beam energy and incident angle.ent angle.
