  • Cycling has become a popular leisure activity, and many cycling enthusiasts have used cycling clothes as a form of expression, which often comes in wide range of colors. The study shows the importance of color in cycling clothing to meet the emotional needs of consumers. Furthermore, this study aims to provide comparative analysis between color of domestic and overseas cycling clothing brands, and color preference of Korean consumers in order to provide data, which can be used in satisfying consumers' needs for personal expression and emotional demands. Thus, the study expects to identify consumers' satisfaction for cycling clothing. The consumers were categorized by the frequency of cycling and their interest in fashion, and the following categories were made:potential consumers, casual cyclists with low fashion involvement, casual cyclists with high fashion involvement and frequent cyclists with high fashion involvement. Consumers preferred dark colors for their cycling clothing including jacket, top and pants, while 'frequent cyclists with high fashion involvement' preferred more diverse colors and tones. In the cycling clothing market, white and black were major colors, while red, orange and blue were major colors of chromatic color. In terms of shade, dark shade dominated the market. Comparing between preferred color and preferred product color, black was preferred for both, but no other colors showed such tendency. This study is based on empirical analysis and verification of color, which is the emotional element appealing to specific and segmented sports-apparel market. The study revealed that the data could be applicable to the design of future products.

Dissimilarly, modern Korea kept conception of colors from Chosun periods that show the high frequency of 'Five Elements Colors' and neutral colors in Red, Yellow and Purple Blue. Today, the costumes of China, Korea and Japan use similar tones of color but each country approached in different selections of achromatic colors; Korean prefers color in Yellow Red, Purple, and Chinese in Green Yellow, Green and Japanese in Purple Blue. Light greyish and pale toned Yellow Red and grayish tone have increased in modern Chinese and Japanese costumes. Also both countries have corresponding assumptions in using color of Red in strong tone. The analysis of color and tone distribution showed that, Japanese costume colors in modern and present times have correlative number of use as in Western culture. Traditionally, Japan has least notion of using 'Five Elements Colors' which only gives minor changes by convergence of Western color culture. In other side, China had developed in color rather than tone compares to Korea and Japan by using many of the Red color of strong, vivid and deep tones which made red distinguishing color of China. Japan continues to use of low chroma colors and became a characteristic in modern and present day, also they use an abundance of color in Yellow Red, purple Blue. Korea has a higher frequency showing in light, bright tones of color distinctively compares to China and Japan.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop recommendation of sign system and color codes in making the public interior environment more accessible for the visually impaired persons. The appropriate guidelines in designing the sign system and the color codes in the public interior environment can increase the accessibility, the mobility and the safety for the visually impaired persons including the increasing elderly. By selecting the effective sign system much more desirable results can be brought: Improvement of accessibility, mobility, increase of safety, work efficiency and the psychological stability. Sign system and the color is more important for the weak-sighted people than the normal-sighted in way finding and the orientation strategies. 53 visually impaired persons participated for this study, the answers of the questionaires by the weak-sighted persons are focused on in this research. The data, the needs of users is analysed on the basis of users-oriented. The result of this study can be considered as a basic direction of sign system design and color codes in our codes in our public environment for all people especially visually impaired persons.

  • Decrease of children caused by economic growth, scientific and technological advancement, long life, spread of nuclear families, increase of women's entry in public affairs, etc. in modern society has given rise to aging societies as another social problem. This has resulted in the advent of problems of the aged and necessity of geriatric hospitals specializing in providing medical services for the old. Even though the geriatric hospitals currently operated are mainly used by aged persons, however, their color environment has been decided, for the most pin, not in view of characteristics of the old but in view of supporting families' criteria for selection of facilities. This study intends to help geriatric hospital designers recognize importance of color environment considering characteristics of the old and select the relevant colors In designing geriatric hospitals in future to elevate remedial value and prevent accidents in space use. To this end, this study suggests problems of color environment found in surveys of the existing geriatric hospitals currently operated throughout the nation and further make some proposals for improvement.

  • Purpose: It is crucially important that indoor luminous conditions of built environments be carefully studied so as to promote comfort and occupants' well-being. Method: The current study therefore focuses on the lit aspect of an enclosed space considered to be a resting room ($4.5m{\times}6.32m{\times}2.5m$). Particularly, on the effect that light levels and light color temperatures have on the physiological and psychological responses of resting occupants. To do so, a questionnaire survey was carried out on 50 subjects. The independent variables for the experiment included 9 different luminous environment conditions setup using 3 different levels of illuminance (50 lx, 150 lx, 300 lx) and 3 different color temperatures (2000 K, 3800 K, 5600 K). A questionnaire was utilized in determining which conditions were preferred by occupants. Result: As it turns out, indoor luminous environment designed for relaxation purposes should display luminance levels of at least 150 lx and 3800 K of color temperature in order to provide a visually comfortable environment suitable for the occupant's relaxation while at the same time promoting the psychological and HRV well-being of resting occupants.

So to establish the uniqueness and beauty of Gunsan city landscape, this study was performed to find out Gunsan landscape colors to survey the landscape color, by priority. There are nature environment of sea, river, reservoir, mountains and plain and artificial environment of buildings used japanese occupation period, them in early modern era and modern things. It found out the color palette has extracted from the present colors in the city landscape. There were mostly colors with low chroma, middle value and the next thing was them with high value. The blue among hue was strong. The Chroma was very low to be concentrated in $L^*$ axis. So achromatic color or blue/green of middle value and low chroma were recommended for dominant color and the similar color of former color was good for assort color in Gunsan city landscape.

  • In this paper, we implemented an image sensor module possible of detecting color temperature in an indoor environment. The color temperature information in the video information acquired by the image sensor was matched with a color difference illuminometer to produce an LUT. An algorithm was developed so that color temperature information according to the received RGB values can be automatically calculated. As a result of measuring the color temperature with an image sensor indoors, an accurate result of less than 5.91% was obtained compared to the reference value. It was confirmed that the uniformity of 23.5% or more was excellent compared to the color temperature measurement result using a color sensor.
