Production and Operating Characteristics for Inorganic EL Phosphor (무기EL용 형광체 제작 및 구동특성)

  • In this paper, we are presents production and operation characteristics for inorganic EL phosphors device using screen printed. The EL device is composed as ITO PET / EL phosphors dielectric $(2{\times}2cm^2)/TiO^2$ paste/Ag electrode. At 100Vac 400Hz, the luminescence of inorganic EL phosphors were $60.33cd/m^2$ of red phosphor, $42.12cd/m^2$ of green phosphor and $58.45cd/m^2$ of blue phosphor. The output current was 12.57 mA, 17.11 mA and 11.98 mA, respectively. The inorganic EL phosphors of EL device are increasing efficiency EL device.

Synthesis of PPV-PTV Alternating Copolymer and EL Devices Using the Polymer

  • An alternating copolymer of PPV and PTV, poly[2-methoxy-5-(3,7-dimethyl)octyloxy-1,4-phenylenevinylene-alt-2,5-thienylenevinylene] (DAPPV-PTV) has been synthesized and light-emitting properties of the polymer have been studied. A single layer EL device using DAPPV-PTV as an emitting layer between ITO and Al electrodes (ITO/DAPPV-PTV/Al) has been fabricated, and light emission of the device becomes visible at 3 V. The EL emission maximum of the device is about 620 nm. Double layer EL device using DAPPV-PTV and Alq3 (ITO/DAPPV-PTV/Alq3/Al) has also been fabricated. The double layer EL device shows two-color emission depending on the applied voltage. The device emits a pale green color from 8 V, and then the color turns to red at about 18 V.

High brightness property of Power Electroluminescent Device using ZnS:Cu (ZnS:Cu를 이용한 후막 전계발광소자의 고휘도 특성)

  • In this paper, to fabricate the AC power electroluminescent device (PELD) with high brightness, new structure that constructed single emissive layer between electrodes was proposed. Dielectric and phosphor material structure that constructed single emissive layer between electrodes was proposed. Dielectric and phosphor material were BaTiO3 and ZnS:Cu respectively. Fabricated AC power EL devices were estimated by optical and electrical properties of EL spectrum, brightness, CIE coordinate system, transferred charge density and EL emission wave in time domain. With above results, we found that brightness of newly proposed AC powder EL power EL device was 2754 cd/m2 at 100V, 400 Hz and compared with conventional device structure.

Comparison of organic EL characteristics of low mass dye and polymer material with the same chromophore (동일한 발광기를 가진 저분자색소와 고분자물질의 유기 EL특성의 비교)

  • A Polymer material, PU-BCN and a low molar mass material D-BCN with the same chromophore were evaluated by fabricating various electroluminescent(EL) devices. A molecular structure of the chromophore was composed as two cyano groups for electron-injection and transport and two triphenylamine groups for hole-injection and transport. Various kinds of EL devices with two different types of EL materials, PU-BCN and D-BCN were fabricated, which were an Indium-tin oxide(ITO)/PU-BCN or D-BCN/MgAg device as a single-layer device(SL) and an ITO/PU-BCN or D-BCN/oxadiazole ferivative/MgAg as a double-layer device(DL-E) and an ITO/triphenylamine derivative/D-BCN/MgAg as a double-layer device(DL-H) device. Two kinds of materials, PU-BCN and D-BCN showed the same emission characteristics in the high current density and excellent EL characteristics even in the SL devices. Maximum EL peaks revealed red emission of about 640 nm, which were corresponded with the fluorescence peaks of the films of two materials.

  • Significant process in the performance and commercialization of full-color thin-film electroluminescent(EL) displays has been achieved. This is due to the remarkable progress made in the performance of exiting EL phosphors, development of new phosphor materials, and design of new EL phosphor structures. In this paper, we fabricated thinfilm EL devices with ZnS buffer and $BaTiO_3$ electric layer with on top and bottom of phosphor layer. The effect of ZnS and $BaTiO_3$ layer on the luminance of EL device were studied.

  • Organic electroluminesencent device have been studied because of its easy fabrication and high brightness for plate panel display instead of CRT and LED. There are some device structure for full color filter system can be applicable to the full color application if the blue light organic electroluminesencent device(OELD) is developed. In this study, We have investigated electro-luminescent (EL) characteristics of organic EL device using Alq3, PBD as emitting material. Current and luminance can be seen that express a similar relativity in voltage and could know that luminance is expressing current relativity.

  • Novel red organic electroluminescent (EL) dye, RED was developed for an application to the emission layer of EL device. Well known red material DCJTB was also used for comparison. Two kinds of devices were fablicated; one is ITO/ CuPc / TPD / 0.5% RED-1 in Alq3/ Alq3/ Li20/ Al and the other is ITO/ CuPc /TPD / 0.5% DCJTB in Alq3/Alq3/ Li20 / Al. External quantum efficiency of the EL device with RED was two times higher than that of the device with DCJTB. The maximum EL peak was detected at 635nm in the RED EL device.

  • The applicability of models based on fractal geometry to characterize the surface of the EL devices was investigated. Insulating layer and phosphor layer of EL devices were deposited on ITO glass using e-beam method. The images of phosphor layer by scanning electron microscope(SEM) were transformed to binary coded data. The relations between fractal geometry and electrical characteristics of EL devices were investigated. When the fractal dimension of $Cas:EuF_3$ EL device was 1.82 and its grain boundary area was 19%, the brightness of $Cas:EuF_3$ EL device was 261 cd/$\textrm{m}^2$.

  • We investigated the transient electroluminescence (EL) and modulation characteristics of red organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), which consist with 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-i -propyl-6-(1,1,7,7-tetramethyljulolidyl-9-cnyl)-4H-pyran (DCJTI) and rubrene doped into tris(8-hydroxyquinoline)aluminum ($Alq_3$). The transient EL waveforms showed two components, the overshooting peak and constant component, indicating that the excess amount of accumulated charges simultaneously recombine at the onset moment. This overshooting effect reduced the rise time of transient EL and enhanced the optical output of OLEDs when the pulse voltage applied to the device. We demonstrated that the red OLEDs could be use for the high-speed switching application by driving at more than 100 MHz and transmitting the video signals utilized as the electro-optical conversion device

The Study of fabrication and characteristics of Inorganic EL Device with combination of high dielectric constant layer (고유전 유전막을 적용한 Inorganic EL Device 제작 및 특성 연구)

  • In this paper, we report the characteristics inorganic EL device with high dielectric constant materials of PMN, PZT. Fabricated EL device shows stable light emission even at 20kHz -400Volt without any break down failure. Brightness voltage curve of EL device is same with typical EL. As increasing applied voltage, the brightness increased linearly. From the results of Frequency and duty ratio variation, over 50% of brightness increment was seen. Luminous efficiency was increased upto 200V range and saturated over 200V by slow increasement of light emission. We got e bright stable emission of 1733 cd/m2 at the condition of Frequency 35 KHz, Duty 10%, 400V.
