  • In this study, Global Gravitational Model EGM2008, EGM96 and 16,786 gravity points measured on land were compared and analyzed. On the assumption that land gravity data is most accurate, the correlation coefficient, differences, MSE and difference variance along the height were computed between land gravity data and EGM2008, EG96. The correlation coefficient, land gravity data and EGM2008, was computed most largely with 0.824 and the correlation coefficient with EGM96 was computed with 0.538. The standard deviation of differences between land gravity and EGM2008, EGM96 were 13.196 magl, 18.685 mgal respectively. Also the difference variance scope of EGM2008 was smaller than EGM96. There was no large variance of free-air anomaly differences between land gravity data and EGM2008 along the height however free-air anomaly differences with EGM96 varied along the height changes. Consequently EGM2008 nicely expresses Korea gravity field more than EGM96.

  • The new high order Earth's gravity Model(EGM2008) are expected to improve the application about the Earth's global gravity field. The objectives of this research are to present characteristics on the geoid heights of provinces in South KOREA which calculated from the height anomalies by Earth Gravity Models. For this, seven EGMs (EGM2008<2,190>, EGM2008<360>, EGM96, EIGEN-GL04C, EIGEN-CG03C, EIGEN-GL04S1, and ITG-Grace02S) selected. Geoid heights of fifty BM check points by GPS/levelling are compared with those by NORI-05 model and seven EGMs. And also, geoid heights of 30"$\times$30" grid points in land(sixes blocks ; $1^{\circ}\times1^{\circ}$ sampled) and sea (four blocks ; $1^{\circ}\times1^{\circ}$ sampled) areas of South KOREA by EGM2008 are compared with those by NORI-05 and six EGMs. The results show that geoid heights obtained from EGM2008(2,190) of NGA displayed the nearest results to those by GPS/levelling.

  • High-resolution, high-precision ultra-high degree earth gravitational model are significant for the development of geodesy, geophysics, geodynamics and oceanography. In this research, we introduces the ultra-high earth gravitational model EGM2008 recently announced by U.S. NGA, reviews the issues and status of the ultra-high degree gravitational model development, and analyzes the accuracy of the gravitational model in Korea. First, EGM2008 is compared with the gravitational model EGM96 and Korea high-precision hybrid geoid model KGEOID08. In addition, the absolute accuracy is evaluated by ellipsoid height and orthometric height of a satellite geodetic reference point. Overall, the results show a similar accuracy between EGM2008 and KGEOID08. Thus, EGM2008 will be helpful for the future development of regional geoid and analysis of global gravity field.

  • Earth geopotential models were used to determine the reference surface in geoid modelling and many global geopotential models were developed after 1980's. Nowadays, EGM96 and EIGEN-GL04C geopotential models have been most widely used in the world, but what so called EGM2008 earth geopotential model were developed in 2008 by NGA. In this paper, we intended to compare the results of spherical harmonic analyses using the three geopotential model, EGM96, EIGEN-GL04C and EGM2008. So, the spherical harmonic analyses were performed up to degree and order 360(in case of EGM2008, up to degree and order 720, 1440, 2190 in addition), on each $1'{\times}1'$grid point in and around Korean peninsula. Geometric geoid were calculated at 464 GPS/leveling points for accuracy evaluation and then the results of three geopotential models were compared to geometric geoid. The results show that the accuracy of EGM2008 is improved considerablely compared to EGM96 and EIGEN-GL04C and it is possible to calculate geoidal heights within 14cm standard deviation and 5.5cm standard deviation after LSC fitting in and around Korean peninsula using EGM2008 geopotential model.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the physiological activities of the ethanol extract from Gymnopilus spectabilis mycelium (EGM) and of the supernatant obtained from fermentation broth (SGB). The contents of polysaccharides, phenol compounds and total ${\beta}-glucans$ of EGM were found to be 80.14%, 3.5 mg/ml and 5.91%, respectively and those for SGB were 78.68%, 3.32 mg/ml and 3.28%, respectively. Both EGM and SGB exhibited dose-dependent nitrate-scavenging abilities at pH 1.2. In addition, both EGM and SGB on the autoxidation rate of the linoleic acid demonstrated powerful antioxidant activities at 1 mg/ml level. With respect to fibrolytic activity, EGM showed 1,180 unit/g, which was the same activity as streptokinase, while SGB was 1,011 unit/g. The angiotensin converting enzyme inhibition activity of EMG determined by both the normal and pretreatment methods were estimated to be 8.2% and 10.2%, respectively. However, SGB showed no corresponding activity. The growth inhibitory effects of EGM on AGS, A549, HeLa and NCTC cells were over 58.88%, respectively. And the growth inhibitory effects of the SGB on HeLa and NCTC cells were 44.92 and 76.76%, respectively. Also, EGM and SGB activated the components of the alternative complement pathway from 51 and 62% at the concentration of 100 mg/ml, The xanthine oxidase inhibition activities of EGM and SGB (1 mg/ml) were 9.53 and 16.92%, respectively.

  • The global gravitational model is essential for precision geoid model construction. Also, it would be used as basic scientific data in geophysical and oceanographic fields. In Korea, EGM2008 has been used from the late 2000s. After publishing EGM2008, new gravitational models such as GOCO02S, GOCO03S, EIGEN-6C, EIGEN-6C2 based on GOCE data were developed. Therefore, we need to verify recent models to select optimal one for geoid computation in Korea. In this study, we compared new models generated based on the GOCE data to EGM2008 and verified the precision of models by comparing with NGII(National Geographic Information Institute) GPS/Leveling data. When comparing EIGEN models to EGM2008, the difference is about 8cm. On the other h and, about 70cm of difference between GOCO models and EGM2008 has been calculated. The reason for this is because GOCO models have been developed using only satellite data while EGM2008 has been used gravity and altimeter data as well as satellite data. When comparing global gravitational model to GPS/Leveling data, EGM2008 showed the best precision of 6.1cm over whole Korean peninsula. The new global gravitational model using additional GOCE data will be published consistently, so the precision verification of new model should be continued.

  • 1,225 healthy day-old avian broiler chicks were used to investigate the effects of activated charcoal (AC, made from willow tree), hydrated sodium calcium aluminosilicates (HSCAS) and esterified glucomannan (EGM) supplementation on broiler performance, blood profiles and meat characteristics when less moldy or moldy corn was included to formulate seven isocaloric and isonitrogenous diets: Positive Control (less moldy corn diet, PC), PC+2% AC, Negative Control (moldy corn, NC), NC+0.05% EGM, NC+0.1% EGM, NC+0.5% HSCAS and NC+1% AC. PC+2% AC resulted in lower growth rate, poorer feed conversion ratio (FCR), more leg problems and higher mortality of birds than those fed PC diet (p<0.05). Inclusion of 0.05% EGM, 0.1% EGM, 0.5% HSCAS and 1% AC in NC diet did not improve average daily weight gain (ADG) or affect feed intake of birds during the first or the second three-week periods. However, 0.05% EGM tended to (p>0.05) and 0.1% EGM significantly (p<0.05) improved FCR during the first three-week period. Breast meat of NC birds had higher Minolta $L^*$ values (white) but lower $a^*$ (reddish) and $b^*$ (yellowish) values (p<0.01) than the PC birds. Addition of 0.05% EGM and 0.1% EGM in NC diet reduced the $L^*$ values (p<0.05), improved $a^*$ and $b^*$ values (p<0.05) of breast meat of birds fed NC diet, but had no effect on meat color when 0.5% HSCAS or 1% AC was included (p>0.05). Relative weight of liver to body was reduced by feeding NC diet (p<0.05) and could not be normalized by different mycotoxin adsorbents (p>0.05) to the ratio of the PC birds. Relative weight of cholecyst of NC birds was increased compared with PC birds and could only be normalized by addition of 0.05% EGM and 1% AC (p<0.05) in NC diet. NC birds had lower serum albumin level than the PC birds (p<0.05) and addition of 0.05% EGM or 1% AC in NC diet did normalize serum albumin level. Addition of 0.5% HSCAS in NC diet further reduced serum albumin, globulin, total protein and uric acid levels (p<0.05). It was concluded that lower FCR during the first three-week period of growth and deterioration of meat quality observed in bird fed moldy corn with moderate T2 and fuminisin contamination and damaged nutrients and pigment availability, might be improved by dietary supplementation of 0.05% to 0.1% EGM, but not by 1% AC or 0.5% HSCAS supplementation.

  • After launching the GOCE (Gravity Field and Steady-State Ocean Circulation Explorer) which obtains high-frequency gravity signal using a gravity gradiometer, many research institutes are concentrating on the development of GGM (Global Geopotential Model) based on GOCE data and evaluating its precision. The precision of some GGMs was also evaluated in Korea. However, some studies dealt with GGMs constructed based on initial GOCE data or others applied a part of GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) / Leveling data on UCPs (Unified Control Points) for the precision evaluation. Now, GGMs which have a higher degree than EGM2008 (Earth Gravitational Model 2008) are available and UCPs were fully established at the end of 2019. Thus, EIGEN-6C4 (European Improved Gravity Field of the Earth by New techniques - 6C4), GECO (GOCE and EGM2008 Combined model), XGM2016 (Experimental Gravity Field Model 2016), SGG-UGM-1, XGM2019e_2159 were collected with EGM2008, and their precisions were assessed based on the GNSS/Leveling data on UCPs. Among GGMs, it was found that XGM2019e_2159 showed the minimum difference compared to a total of 5,313 points of GNSS/Leveling data. It is about a 1.5cm and 0.6cm level of improvement compare to EGM2008 and EIGEN-6C4. Especially, the local biases in the northern part of Gyeonggi-do, Jeju island shown in the EGM2008 was removed, so that both mean and standard deviation of the difference of XGM2019e_2159 to the GNSS/Leveling are homogeneous regardless of region (mountainous or plain area). NGA (National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency) is currently in progress in developing EGM2020 and XGM2019e_2159 is the experimentally published model of EGM2020. Therefore, it is expected that the improved GGM will be available shortly so that it is necessary to verify the precision of new GGMs consistently.

  • Geopotential models were used to determine the reference surface in geoid modelling and until now, OSU91A model has been most widely used in the world. But what so called EGM96, GSFC/DMA geopotential model published in the latter half of the 1996 by GSFC/DMA project. In this paper, we intended to compare the results of spherical harmonic analyses using the both geopotential model and the spherical harmonic analyses performed up to degree and order 300 and the gravimetric geoidal heights considering gravity data on each $3'\times{3'}$ grid point in and around Korean peninsula. The results showed that the average geoidal height of study area computed from EGM96 is larger 0.40 m than that computed from OSU91A and the gravimetric geoidal heights us-ing EGM96 is larger 0.35 m than that using OSU91A model.
