  • Logistic of port to use electronic document handling and trade electronic document EDI is used. Thus, EDI electronic documents system is electronic document processing system can handle. and the user wants to convert document formats, or extract the desired information the user should be able to use. Conversion of existing EDI documents and document conversion systems used in mapping the complexity of the grammar of the script, and it is difficult to use the operator. In this paper, efficient processing of EDI documents to electronic mapping of the existing operators in the grammar syntax to create an easy to use, more efficiency, increase operational management of EDI electronic document processing system is designed.

  • The EDI system supports the working environment which can exchange the standardized document through the each agreed communication method. Traditional EDI system is complicated to be implemented and needed high cost te using the system because of the specific VAN(Value Added Network). This Paper proposes the XML/EDI system using the web-based distributed object and proposed the component 'AnySchema', as it makes be able to use legacy Database for EDI user. This XML/EDI system exchanges the XML documents through the Internet, so proposed low cost to support the system. Also, by using the XML document, it doesn't need EDI specific software and easy to exchange data between different systems. This system is implemented by using Java, as platform-independent.

  • Many companies are using EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) for the electronic transmission of documents and information to and from other companies. The appearance of Internet can enhance existing EDI systems. Existing EDI systems have several problems such as poor system interoperability and high expense of VAN. This paper prognoses a new EDI system utilizing Internet to provide open communication environment by using XML (extensible Markup language) and this applies it to the EDI service for Hospital Demand. XML is a mark-up language extending HTML which is a standard language for the expression of WWW (World-Wide Web) pages. XML is more structural than HTML, thus it is more suitable for the repetitive tasks of EDI and for the maintenance of databases. XML can transmit EDI documents in the open communication environment of Internet and users can easily access the documents with web browsers. Therefore we can provide EDI services within more open environment and we can build an EDI system with lower expense.

  • Last port logistics for the EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) document processing system using a rapid increase in the complaint is handled. However, the existing system in a way that the script processing EDI documents, but the complexity of the script writing and document processing efficiency, lower consumption due to increased demand for processing has not kept up. Therefore, we changed the script in a way how to handle the binary system was designed and implemented. Also used for port logistics has developed 12 types of EDI documents. Accordingly, the document processing speed compared to existing methods are improved twelvefold port logistics system for processing EDI documents are expected to be utilized.

  • The importance of EDI is growing more and more as the trend of E-Commerce is changing to B2B from B2C. So far WEB-EDI system using HTML has substituted for existing traditional VAN-EDI system. But the critical problem of WEB-EDI is that integrating among the internal systems in the company is difficult. In this paper we suggests a method for integrating the internal data and thus internal systems by using XML, a second generation markup language.

  • Recently, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems are widely used. Many organizations exchange the documents by using EDI, and EDI is used in various industries such as physical distribution, export and import business, custom, and medical care. However, there have been little attempt to empirically investigate the success factors of EDI system. In this paper, we identify the influencing factors which determine the success of typical information system and then suggest the additional factors characterized to the EDI system. Our research model, mainly based on the system success model, is tested by analyzing the empirical data acquired from the companies in the medical industry. As a result, the system quality, information quality, service quality, and the perceived sacrifice turned out to be significant to the success of EDI system while data security does not. The result of this research is likely to help providing useful guidelines for the successful EDI implementations.

  • There are increasing needs for an individual or enterprise to interchange documents electronically through communication network to enhance the efficiency of business, according to the rapid progress in the construction of communication network. UN has established and distributed the standards for electronic documents to facilitate rapid and accurate processing of business. In this paper, we present the design and implementation of an integrated system for processing documents that conform to the electronic document standards. This system consists of three subsystems, which are an EDI parser for checking syntax, an EDI document editor, and an EDI directory viewer for referencing syntax of an EDI document. Integrated usage of these tools can afford the composition of correct EDI documents more rapidly and conveniently.

  • The importance of EDI has been so emphasized that we need exchange/maintain electronic documents effectively, and convert them to other formats. The traditional EDI, however, is facing on the limitation of growth because of its high expense, and the closeness of information sharing. The EDIs of next generation, like open EDI, object-oriented EDI, and Internet EDI, have appeared to solve these problems. Finally, XML/EDI, which is very effective to solve these kinds of problems, is now replacing the traditional EDI and the HTML in Internet and, is influencing on e-Business. So, we are going to suggest a solution which uses XML/EDI as a substitute for the traditional one. First, we analyzed the problems of the traditional EDI system and organized the structure of XML/EDI system, Next, we developed the prototype of Internet bookstore to show the effectiveness and strength of XML/EDI over the traditional EDI.

  • At present, the EDI systems are indispensable software in port logistics industry. Currently, a monopolistic VAN/EDI service provider operates the EDI services. The current EDI client software has the 2-tier fat client/server architecture. However, the current EDI software is lack of Web interface and causes lots of cost for maintenance. Therefore, a variety of implementation architecture has been being tried by using script, XML and distributed object-oriented technology. Web/EDI and XML/EDI are the new EDI systems, However, the EDI systems have some limitations such as speed. This study intends to compare the variety implementation architecture for the EDI systems in the users' perspective and explore the strong and weak points of each architecture. We compared the EDI systems based on our experience of more than 2-years of implementation project for the EDI systems of port logistics. We categorized the EDI systems as client application EDI, Web EDI using script, XML/EDI, and 3-tier distributed object-oriented EDI system. We compared them with criteria such as speed, program maintenance, easiness of implementation and usage, security, and load balancing and fail-over. Finally we discuss the direction of optimal EDI system architecture for the future.

  • Costs and times, resources was better decreased than former times because it had been introduced EDI(Electronic Data Interchange) system. Nevertheless, many problems has been raised as before, that is high costs and data re-using, the rapidly changing environment, etc. To solve these problems, it was attempted to introduce XML technology at traditional EDI System. From this point to view, 1 designed and implemented XML/EDI System based on Internet(Internet Messaging System) in this paper. And I selected some services as basic service among many services which is provided at XML/EDI System, that is message sending and message receiving, message retrieval. Other service of client system was composed of MapIn and MapOut module. MapIn Module is to parse the received XML Message and to store XML Data to RDB system. And MapOut module is to generate XML Message after extracting data from RDB system and to transfer XML Message to recipient. Hereby, XML/EDI System(XEDI System) provide document re-using, the various result(output) generation f3r various requirement and directly interface with DB. Therefore, This System(XEDI System) is more various and more flexible than the existing Messaging System that just provide transfer and retrieval service
