EU's Galileo project is a market-based GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) that is under development. It is expected that Galileo will provide the positioning services based on new technologies in 2020s. Because Galileo E1 signal for OS (Open Service) shares the same center frequency with GPS L1 C/A signal, CBOC (Composite Binary Offset Carrier) modulation scheme is used in the E1 signal to guarantee interoperability between two systems. With E1 signal consisting of a data channel and a pilot channel at the same frequency band, there exist several options in designing signal acquisition for Assisted-Galileo receivers. Furthermore, compared to SNR worksheet of Assisted-GPS, some factors should be examined in Assisted-Galileo due to different correlation profile and code length of E1 signal. This paper presents SNR worksheets of Galileo E1 signals in E1-B and E1-C channel. Three implementation losses that are quite different from GPS are mainly analyzed in establishing SNR worksheets. In the worksheet, hybrid long integration of 1.5s is considered to acquire weak signal less than -150dBm. Simulation results show that the final SNR of E1-B signal with -150dBm is 19.4dB and that of E1-C signal is 25.2dB. Comparison of relative computation shows that E1-B channel is more profitable to acquire the strongest signal in weak signal environment. With information from the first satellite signal acquisition, fast acquisition of the weak signal around -155dBm can be performed with E1-C signal in the subsequent satellites.

The key technologies of GNSS receiver for GNSS sensor station are under development as a part of a GNSS ground station in ETRI. This paper presents the GNSS receiver implementation and signal processing result which is implemented based on FPGA to process the Galileo E1 and E5 signal. To verify the working and performance for GNSS receiver which is implemented based on FPGA, live signal received from GIOVE-B which is second test satellite is used. We gather GIOVE-B signal by using prototyping antenna and RF/IF units including IF-component. To verify Galileo E1 and E5 signal processing function from GIOVE-B, FPGA based signal processing module is implemented as a prototyping hardware board.
In this paper, an efficient signal tracking method to simultaneously track both GPS L1 C/A and Galileo E1B CBOC(6,1,1/11) using a low cost GPU is proposed. In the existing method that each GNSS signal is processed within 1 ms, more than 2 ms processing time is required in GPU to process 4 ms CBOC signal. It means that real time operation is possible if only Galileo E1B CBOC signal is concerned. But when both GPS C/A and Galileo CBOC is required, it cannot process GPS C/A signal in real time. To process 1 ms GPS C/A and 4 ms Galileo CBOC signal in real time, 4 ms Galileo CBOC signal is divided into 4 by 1 ms signal block in the proposed method. Specially, a buffer that simultaneously manages 1 ms and 4 ms signals is designed. In addition, a module that accumulates the 1 ms correlation value of the Galileo CBOC by 4 ms and passes it to the PLL and DLL is implemented. The operation and performance are evaluated with real measurements in the GPU based SDR. The experimental results show that tracking of more than 16 satellites of GPS C/A and Galileo E1B is possible using the proposed method.

In this paper, the key technologies of Navigation receiver for GNSS sensor station are presented as a development result of a GNSS ground station in ETRI. A wide-band antenna and RF/IF components and SW signal processing unit to cover the GPS and Galileo signals for GNSS receiver are developed and its performance is verified by using GPS live signal and GNSS RF signal simulator from SpirentTM. We also gather GIOVE-A signal by using H/W antenna and RF/IF units in IF-level as sampling frequency and bit number, 112MHz and 8bits, respectively by using the developed wide-band antenna and RF/IF components. Data acquisition is done by using commercial data acquisition device from National Instrument TM. The gathered data is fed into SW receiver to process Galileo E1 to verify Galileo signal processing by Galileo live signal from GIOVE-A.

In this paper, we present the enhancement results such as availability and accuracy using the GPS L1 and Galileo E1 signal combination. To enhance the acquisition and tracking performance of signal processing in GNSS receiver. several tracking loops with integrator, discriminator, and loop filter module are applied. Also, this paper presents the performance comparison results between prototype receiver equipped with hardware board and software receiver. Also the tracking loop performance of real hardware receiver is verified by comparing with tracking accuracy, sensitivity occurred by the Spirent simulator. Especially, to process the Galileo E1 signal, it is used the a power early late type which is the typical type for DLL discriminator.

This paper contains the signal receiving algorithm for Galileo E5 AltBOC signal and the development of Galileo E5 signal receiving software. The software runs the process from signal acquisition to extracting measurement data to get navigation solution. It uses logged IF data file as an input. In signal acquisition stage, 1ms and delayed 1ms data are used for reducing correlation ross from secondary code and navigation bit conversion. Signal tracking stage is made of two stages which are coarse tracking and fine tracking. It is for taking advantage of AltBOC characteristic and resolving ambiguity problem due to BOC modulation. The functions of software are verified by signal processing using logged IF data from commercial GNSS simulator.

Galileo is a new civil Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS) developed by Europe. GIOVE-A, a satellite to test Galileo system performance, transmits navigation signal on orbit. Evaluation of Galileo system and development of Galileo receiver needs to analyze GIOVE-A signals. In this paper, we received GIOVE-A signals and processed it using GIOVE-A Interface Control Document(ICD). Signal acquisition, tracking and navigation message decoding made grasping current signal status possible. Bandwidth increase by BOC modulation is one of the difference from GPS. Therefore, we investigated feasibility of conventional GPS L1 RF front-end to receive GIOVE-A E1 signal by evaluation of receiving performance of navigation signal on each bandpass filter of RF front-end.
In order to secrete the Bacillus subtilis cytidine deaminase (CDase, cytidine/2'-deoxycytidine deaminase) encoded by the B. subtilis cdd gene in E. coli by the aid of signal sequences, the cdd gene was fused in-frame to either amyE or penP signal sequences and the gene expression and CDase localization were examined. For the penP signal sequence::cdd fusion, the cdd gene with 9 amino acids truncated from the 5'-terminus was fused in-frame to the signal sequence, then the $cdd^{+}$ colonies were not occurred from the minimal plate by cdd complementation. The result suggests that 9 amino acids on the $NH_2-terminal$ of CDase have an essential function in the enzyme activity. The hybrid protein obtained by fused gene amyE signal sequence::cdd structural gene gave $cdd^{+}$ phenotype and about half of the total CDase activity was found to be secreted in the periplasm of E. coli transformant JF611/pSO202. The periplasmic CDase activity of JF611 harboring pSO52 containing the intact cdd gene was considerablely lower than that of the cells harboring pSO202 carrying the hybrid cdd gene. This suggests that the CDase was secreted to the periplasm through the cytoplasmic membrane by the aid of the amyE signal sequence in the E. coli transformant.
We analyzed photoreflectance (PR) characterization of the $Al_xGa_{1-x}As$ epilayer grown by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) method. The band-gap energy $(E_0)$ satisfying low power Franx-Keldysh (LPFK) due to GaAs buffer layer is 1.415 eV, interface electricall field $(E_i)$ is 1.05$\times$$10^4$V/cm, carrier concentration (N) is $1.3{\times}10^{15}\textrm{cm}^{-3}$. In PR spectrum intensity analysis at 300 K the $A^*$ peak below $(E_0)$ signal is low and distorted because of residual impurity in sample growth. The trap characteristic time ${\tau}_i$ of GaAs buffer layer is about 0.086 ms, and two superposed PR signal near 1.42eV consist of the third derivative signal of chemically eteched GaAs substrate and Franz-Keldysh oscillation (FKO) signal due to GaAs buffer layer.
This paper shows the research about the development of software receiving platform processing GPS/Galileo L1/E1/E5a signal. Various researches for new GNSS signal character are possible using software receiving platform by facile program code modification. In addition, the program that processes GPS and Galileo signal integration is expected to help developing integration of receiver algorithm that deal with new various GNSS signal. In this paper, it is introduced the structure of GPS/Galileo receiving platform using sampled IF data as a program input. The function of the software platform embodied using MATLAB tool is tested by live data from Galileo test satellites. The software platform is modulated according to their roll and function. Each module is able to use selective function on GNSS signal.
